Aziraphale knew that Crowley was living in his car

Yes, yes, I know that the Notorious NRG said something contradictory - but this is on the screen. This is canon.

Additionally:

Aziraphale asks no questions when Crowley shoves a box of plants into his arms (ref: meta by @books-and-omens):

and Aziraphale lets him do it, helps him move back into his car, without confronting or questioning, because he knows Crowley's motivations (ref: response meta by @forineffablereasons). OP also observes that Crowley might be telling Aziraphale to go faster not just for breaking-the-speed-limit-is-a-demonic-imperative reasons, and not just because he wants his angel back, but because he wants his car back; without it, he's stranded at the bookshop, a sitting duck.

Which isn't really true, because we know that demons and angels can take any form? But psychologically speaking, not so for Crowley. The car is the physical manifestation of (and coping mechanism for) his generalized anxiety disorder.

And Aziraphale knows this. He respects Crowley's need to have mobility and distance. He knows that this instability [ironically] brings Crowley a sense of control that he needs to feel safe.

This is just one theory that isn't necessarily mutually exclusive with any others, for example, Crowley won't move in because then it would be obvious to Heaven and Hell that they're a group of the two of them, or that he doesn't move in because that would compromise the bookshop's protected status as an independent embassy. This is just one piece of the puzzle that is Crowley.

Fanbinding: The Grinch Who Sold Christmas by @forineffablereasons

Anthony J. Crowley, a big-time attorney from London, is sent to small-town Tadfield to close a deal before Christmas that would sell out half of high street to a fancy developer and put him up for partner at his firm. The deal will run the local businesses out and change the landscape of the town forever, but that’s none of Crowley’s business; he’s just doing a job.

But as the town invites him to share in their lives, their hopes, and their holiday celebrations, and as the enigmatic Aziraphale invites him to share in something more, Crowley starts to wonder: if everything has its price, is he still willing to pay what this deal will cost?

Finally posting my other bind from the @renegadepublishing 2022 Exchange! This is "The Grinch Who Sold Christmas" a Good Omens Hallmark Christmas movie AU by darcylindbergh (@forineffablereasons). It was a gift for Lofe (@misanthropiczombie), and I had such a lovely time with it.

I had a lot of fun making this book! This is a three-piece bradel bind, with a spine done in arrestox and boards in ivory Italian cloth from Hollanders. I gave painting a full pattern onto the cloth to create the design (nervewracking on white cloth...), which is inspired by Aziraphale's Heaven's Gate tartan pattern from the show. Fore-edge is a gold alcohol ink sponged on. I had this chunky red and gold lace thread I wanted for the endbands for that touch of Crowley's colors. Since I was already painting in the drop caps for Royal Flush, I decided to paint these ones in as well!

I was very happy to be able to gift copies of this both to my giftee and the author! And I got to do my first Good Omens bind <3.

(Good Omens Christmas fic review week!)

The Grinch Who Sold Christmas by @forineffablereasons is an elixir of the most concentrated and unbridled Christmas joy you’ve ever had, wrapped up in a gorgeous writing and ineffable feels. The story arc echoes your typical cheesy Christmas movie - big-city solicitor Crowley comes to finalize the sale of the Tadfield high street, and in the process of doing research for his proposal, falls in love with the small-town community and a certain kind-eyed angel. But regardless of how predictable the plot may sound initially, this fic is the most magnificent kind of fantasy - not because it contains any supernatural elements, but because it gives readers a taste of the ultimate dream: of unconditional love, and incandescent happiness, and being exactly where you are supposed to be and where you wholly and irrevocably belong.

This fic is so supremely soft - sticky-sweet and syrupy, but not in a cloying or overbearing way. Instead it feels like you are being enveloped in the tenderest and most comforting of hugs; like you are submerged in a torrential outpour of love that is all-consuming in its potency, leaving your fingertips all tingly and your face stretched involuntarily in a silly, dazzling smile. The romance between Crowley and Aziraphale is downright picturesque, from the flirty first-date banter to sticking with each other through thick and thin, and it’s wholesome and glorious and miraculous in its totality. I also cannot rave enough about the writing: it is some of my favourite kind of prose, flowing and melodious, with the lyrical cadence of a bedtime story and the unfettered magic of a fairy tale.

Highly recommended for anyone who wants to feel happiness, pure and simple, this lovely holiday season 💝

so!! i am a massive hoarder of quotes—from any form of media, really, including such things as an article about trying twenty-one different mountain dew flavors or the introduction to a reading from a friend’s poetry class—but i’m especially weak for fanfiction quotes. the first volume of that collection is *checks notes* 21,394 words and 67 pages long. this week, i finally printed them out, hole-punched them, and popped them in a binder. it includes passages from fanfiction of only four fandoms, almost entirely good omens (96%, to be precise), although subsequent volumes have a more evenly mixed composition.

this is my header!! the blue text is in the font amiri; the rest is in lusitana. the dates on the right refer to the time period in which i read these stories.

and here is an example of how i format the fics! (link to the first fic and link to the second, because, if you are interested, you deserve to read these lovely works.)

fun fact: there are six entire pages dedicated to demonology alone.

Lost Fic #146

1. Hi! I originally asked forineffablereasons this but someone recommended your blog (can’t believe I haven’t tried y’all yet!!) so I’ve copy/pasted my original ask from Darcy’s blog to here to see if you or anyone who follows you can help me find this one particular fic. It’s a multi chapter fic of Crowley and Aziraphale through the ages but I only remember two scenes distinctly (which is why it’s been so hard to find this fic). The scenes are: 1) Aziraphale and Crowley go to a gay club (after the church rescue in 1941, I think) and in the gay club Crowley is hit on and Aziraphale expects him to leave and tells him so bc he doesn’t believe he’s enough for Crowley only for Crowley to kiss him in the bar in front of everyone to prove he wants Aziraphale (iirc they have sex after this but don’t get together??) and 2) a scene in which Crowley is talking to a female aviator to whom he outs himself as a demon as proof to why Aziraphale can’t ever love him back and the female aviator tells Crowley that he has to love himself enough to be happy (or something like that??) I feel like with Good Omens S3 finally being confirmed it's as good a time as any to show my current cross stitch WIP 👀

I am working strictly colour by colour so now I have kind of made myself a colouring picture, a very very slow going colouring picture (by now I have actually filled in a few small areas of colour but this picture is from the point at which I had just finished all the black because I haven't taken another update picture of the full project since then)

All that black took me 200 hours over the course of 2 months

I am absolutely in love with it so far and seeing it slowly fill up with colour is just 🥺
