to be fair i don’t think ozzie kept his relationship with fizz on the dl bc he’s an imp (he doesn’t seem concerned that people know they up have sex), but because of the whole lust/love thing. which is stupid, but it’s also vivziepop writing so whatchu gonna do 🙃

ozzie does seem to be one of the “better” upper class members in terms of how he treats other species (imps are allowed in his clubs, he regularly interacts with succubi/imp hybrids, everyone at his workplaces seem pretty happy and unlike stella and andre, he doesn’t seem particularly discriminatory or callous), but he still calls moxxie “little imp” (granted he is literally little and an imp and its a performance) and his imp boyfriend “froggy” which with the fire toad slur kinda raises eyebrows? this could also just be vivziepop Not Thinking but. hmm.

even bee who is shown partying and dating hellhounds, said to be even lower than imps, still runs the abusive adoption pound and signs her name on every adoption paper. she can cover it up with honey and a smile all she wants but she’s 1000% complicit in their oppression. like how does tex feel about that??? it reminds me of corporations who do all this virtue signaling for social justice but give billions to horrible causes. but i don’t think vivziepop understands that because again. rich background. “bee was nice to loona so its ok!!! deeper implications? what’s that?”

speaking of which, every time viv likes a tweet about how striker deserves nothing and is a toxic masculinity homophobe makes my blood boil. i don’t particularly like striker and i lost any interest in him after western energy but he and crim are really evidence that viv thinks “STOP BEING POOR” is a valid argument. also wasnt he flirting with blitzo in his first ep???? so like? huh???

i will say one reason i ship blitzstriker is because they seem to have similar views in regards to class (at least pre oops…) and i can totally see them staking it out on the run together. i can’t see fizz doing that, he flaunts his wealth and even tho he says “it’s nice being out of the spotlight” i cannot see this man surviving without luxury items for over a day loo. even in the circus, he always had the best clothes and was the main breadwinner and while the circus is said to be struggling, he never seems to be. i think that’s another reason i personally never got fizz’s insecurities, because he’s been the ace his whole life???? like as someone who has struggled a lot for ANY recognition or love it just makes him seem spoiled to be like “ozzie no luv me bc im not perfect :(“ i think your manipulator idea would make more sense.

anyway this turned into a ted talk. you dont have to answer everything. im realizing i actually hate what helluva boss is but i love the fanworks and the potential it had. sigh.

Isn’t it so funny how we have to pick which flaws are on purpose and which are just…Viv being a bad writer. Like we have to accommodate her forgetting or not caring enough to put the work in and review it after.

Paragraph 1: I definitely agree 100%, I like the part where the imp and succubi are his patrons, equal, including the butler who stolas abuses. Which feels like a very purposeful decision to contrast him with Stolas specifically. But there’s still the fact that Ozzies is so overpriced and exclusive and yet, rich folk like stolas can just waltz in without any reservation for free, by threatening the bouncer with…something. Violence? Imprisonment? Ruining his life? Honestly I wish we could have seen Jesse tell Stolas to fuck off, before he notifies the big man of what he just tried to do.

Paragraph 2: He is one thousand percent better, and he respected his employees who in turn liked him and weren’t scared of him. However he’s a better monarch, but still a monarchby and at the end of the episode he betrays his employees trust and uses intimidation and the threat of violence to silence them. Also froggy??? Really? Really? And got every time he says it the cringe levels are intense, it feels deeply deeply ooc.

Back to paragraph 1 again: the secrecy…it’s about the inexplicable anti love thing, but I’m just saying I think fizz feels that way. Like in that article I keep referencing they say things like “heart hoarded by an imp?!” Which I suppose is equivalent to anti imp racism in hell. Stereotypes of them being untrustworthy selfish beings. Which is also the fuel for Stolas’ fetish. It just really pissed me off the way Asmodeus said “still getting your kink on with that feisty imp?” And stolas says “this imp has a business he runs” I was wayyyy to charitable to Asmodeus in the past and regret it so so much.

Paragraph 3: Many people point this out about Bee and I really hope her nice persona vanishes fast because it’s just ridiculous given her status and what she’s done. Why are your hellborn the most downtrodden of them all if you’re ohh so nice miss Beelzebub? And how the F could Loona not know who Beelzebub is??? Do her and Blitzø not realise who signed off on the adoption certificate? (Confirmed on Vivs patron that it was in fact Bee) why is Tex working as a bodyguard for verosika who calls him “my new hellhound” and yells at him, he also says he’s not paid enough to care about her issues. Sooo….why is he still in such a shitty position despite being with Bee. You’d think he’d at least be working because he wants to work but he doesn’t even seem

Paragraph 4: LITERALLY!!! Viv is such a privileged rich girl that her villains are poor. While she’s going on a world tour but raging at Twitter people criticising her pet character. She’s literally Stella and a Mammon: “Can you imagine not having money ahahhahh” — Viv describing why striker is so evil

Paragraph 5: another question is why would Blitzø being jealous of Fizz be such a bad thing? He didn’t want to cause the accident. But why would him hating how bad he is at making people laugh,,,make him bad? That’s why I love their arguments because neither is completely wrong or right. His father literally loves him more than his own son and as you said, he gets pampered the most and loved the most. He can’t stand someone not liking him for even five seconds which should be a character flaw, not endearing. But, Fizz doesn’t have a father at all, so he’s not completely wrong. And if his parents did abandon him and nobody would adopt him, that explains why he doesn’t feel good enough to be loved and why he needs audience approval. Viv just forgot to write that FUNDAMENTAL part into the f**king episode.

I love a good fish out of water story and seeing fizz slowly learn to fight beside his friend proving that their differences are compatible was great. By the end, Fizz seemed almost happier and freer by Blitzos side than by Ozzies side, but the goldfish is just put back in the bowl, which sucks.

Your last line made me almost laugh cry tbh because there’s enough lost potential to fill a fountain. The episode had such a strong start then around the breakdown things went south and it stopped being good. The status quo isn’t different at all and fizz just slightly shifted his destructive needs for affirmation onto a different royal.

Boggy the Froggy is Adaine Abernant's truly precious emotional support familiar. Magic is real and so is this frog.

Why is he the NPC of All Time?

He is a perfectly circular frog that only ever has two expressions: one is a content "just happy to be here, gang" and another is of confused disapproval, "I'm not so sure about this". He has a large collar wrapped around his whole body with the name "Boggy" engraved on it. He also wears a tiny backpack.

pt. ii of that au i had: Luz in Amphibia!

-because Luz finds the music box and not the door in this au, she ends up going to camp originally.

-after camp and back at school, Luz became friends with two other kids at camp, who are supposed to represent the other two in the calamity trio.

-Axel acts as the leader of the group, and is a total rebel. shes basically the leader of the group. she clicked with Luz because they like how reckless and ambitious she can be (ie. her school project). Axel takes place as the representative of Strength.

-Echo is a big fan of cryptids and stuff, and they regularly talk to Jacob about the history of the town regarding Philip and his brother. they clicked with Luz because theyre both loveable nerds, and they take place of the representative of Mind.

-obviously this leaves Luz as Heart. however, going in true Luz fashion, Luz is the one who gets the gang stranded in amphibia. rather than having to move away, she talks with her friends and convinces them it'll be "just like a DND campaign," with Echo being sold in the idea and Axel going "in case you do something stupid"

-season 1 of the show plays out as normal, ending with Luz calling out Axel for being a bit too controlling, which is the start of Axel's character arc.

-season two is a but different, with the calamity stones being given respective weapons: the Sword of Heart, the Hammer of Strength, and the Bow of Mind. i had this idea because of the Sword of Excalibur and thought it would be interesting to see.

-Grime attempt to talk Axel into attempting to take over Newtopia, with Axel being against the idea. Grime tries anyways, leading him to discover Andrias's true plan.

-instead of Andrias exposing Echo like he does Marcy, he manipulates the group to believe everything is Luz's fault. while Luz has a breakdown because she's convinced of this, Axel snaps and defends her. the episode then carries out as it does originally

-season three kicks off with Luz returning home with the Plantars, and her mom is reasonably worried sick. the first half of the season follows a similar plot, with Luz keeping the "i got stranded there on purpose and im being attacked by a literal monarch" parts of the story a secret from Camilla. the confrontation scene Anne-Sterminator mirrors the ending of Yesterday's Lie.

-Mr. X teams up with Jacob to learn more about the Plantars.

-Luz meets a familiar "Mr. Pines" working as a technician at a kid's museum, who claims to have insight on how to build a portal to get Luz and the Plantars back to Amphibia.

-Dr Janne is still around, of course, and Echo does get possessed by the core.

-in "Froggy Little Christmas," the float Luz and the Plantars make is more based on Camilla's career as a vet.

-In "Commander Luz," Axel is revealed to be-

-not a major detail, but rather than being entertained with puzzles in the mindscape, Echo is given several video games.

-As for their calamity forms, in place of the tennis racket, Luz has a replica of Azura's staff, Axel has a baseball bat similar to the one Beta Luz had, and Echo has a seismograph.

-the god anne meets in the original version of the series takes the form of a bat, like Luz's phone case.

NSFW spicy: oh, so many things that i'll keep to myself for now because i want to retain stuff to write one-shots about!! but suffice it to say daddy!carlos is at his finest as king.

SFW spicy: Lando becomes quite the reformer in his reign, bolstered by Carlos. Like I said, moving the capital is quite controversial, and Carlos drafts a lot of laws that shake up Anglosax. Lando picks a lot of fights with nobles (many of whom are still secretly pissed off that Lando didn't marry Anglosaxon nobility), and that's where his marriage to Carlos comes very handy. Their image is very useful to this end too and they commission a lot of portraits where Lando's holding a scepter and Carlos is a half-step behind him, holding a sword. They really push the image of King Carlos the Protector to reinforce King Lando the Reformer...even though, when people get froggy about how without Carlos Lando is vulnerable, Carlos just grins dangerously and says, "Ah, yes, the only knight who has ever rivaled me, vulnerable without me. Interesting."

That quiets the naysayers.

They came to see Anne as their own in a pretty short time, and they’re sure to be just as hospitable to you as they were to them! May come individually or all together. Not hostile…though Polly can be kind of bloodthirsty.

Sasha: One of Anne’s two childhood friends. A girl used to having control of her situations, able to sweet-talk her way to the top and fight tooth-and-nail if that doesn’t work. She wound up in Amphibia with the toads and became a high-ranking commander in the army, fueling her drive to take further control. Luckily she’s only recently begun to realize just how lonely it can be losing friends on her way to the top. Her ire is still easy to draw, though. Potentially hostile.

Marcy: Anne’s other childhood friend. An incredibly intelligent girl and self-identified nerd, she approaches every unusual situation with intrigue and enthusiasm…enthusiasm that’s sure to lead to her getting into some kind of accident due to her overwhelming clumsiness. Winding up with the newts in Amphibia did her wonders, becoming an advisor to the king and Chief Ranger in the Newtopian Knight Guard. Hopefully she doesn’t get too wrapped up in her own head andmake any incredibly selfish decisions. Not hostile. 

King Andrias: The monarch who has ruled Amphibia for centuries. Though he wears an amicable face before all his subjects, he seeks to carry out his predecessors’ legacy of conquest, both of his own world and all others. The only thing standing in his way is a certain 13-year-old Thai-American girl and her friends… Hostile.

"Are you going to be a good pet for my guests?" The Devil's hand was in their human's hair, gently scratching their scalp and letting them relax before the evening started.

The human tried to savour those last few moments of peace and quiet, but it came to an end way too quickly. The doors opened and the most noble of the demons entered, one by one, announced by some lesser servant.

The Devil pulled their hand back and sent their pet over, who obediently crawled over to the door and bowed to the first of many demons they were told to greet. "Welcome, Your Grace," they said dutifully before pressing a kiss to one, and then two boots, trying not to show how ashamed they were. The taunting of the guests certainly didn't help, but they tried to tune it out, only focusing on a single boot at a time.

"How well-trained for a human."

"How eager to humiliate themself."

"Humiliate? They should be happy that they get to kiss my boots."

"Oh come on, they're probably used to the fine leather shoes of Their Majesty."

"How is it? Serving Their Majesty directly?"

The human kept their head bowed, too worried that their expression would give either the guests of their owner a reason to punish them. "I-It's a great privilege, Y-Your Grace. I c-couldn't be luckier."

"No..." A hand suddenly grabbed their face and forced them to look up, exposing the deep blush and the dried tear tracks. "I want to know the truth. How is it?"

"I'm t-telling the truth," they whimpered, earning themself a harsh slap across the face.

"Are they as cruel as the rumours say? Are they merciless? Tell me the actual truth, lowly human, I'm not interested in your rehearsed lines."

"I would n-never dare speak of Their Majesty behind their back, Your Grace."

"And what a wise decision that is," the Devil sounded from alarmingly near, making the demon spin around to face them. "Maybe you could learn from them."

"Me? From a human? Your Majesty, your sense of humour is just as sharp as it used to be a millenia ago."

The Devil grinned. "I understand you would like to know if I'm as cruel and merciless as the Monarch of Hell should undoubtedly be. Why you would ask my pet instead of me is beyond me, however. Surely you don't expect them to reveal a secret, softer side that I've kept well hidden for all these years?"

"I would never dream of such gossip, but they do seem to be treated better than I expected."

The Devil motioned for their pet to crawl to the centre of the room, and they obediently did so, relieved for just a moment to be away from the scene of the interrogation before they noticed that the two of them were following along. "My dearest duke, why don't you show me how you would treat a human? I'm sure the display would provide plenty entertainment for all of us during dinner." The human let out a scared whine when they realized all eyes were on them, and none were particularly empathetic. "I promise I'll hide my love for them for the night, and won't stop you under any circumstances."
