Fun fact: Samus' zero suit is a bodysuit in more recent games instead of the tank-top she wore in older games because at this point, she's been spliced with so many species' DNA you really don't want to see what the rest of her skin looks like.

As Raven Beak displays his mastery over the ringtone. so too does she have this power. #she has the upper hand in some places: lips and teeth allow her more tools with which to execute the finer points of complex noises #but her elders have tricks of their own. #Raven Beak can imitate human kissy noises in his throat using the very back of his tongue #making noises at each other is honestly one of their best bonding activities so far. #though they're usually sitting across the room from each other when they come out with the ear blast-tier moves #they don't need to talk to each other. don't even need to look at each other. they can just sit in the living room and go back and forth #with noises. they get competitive sometimes. that's typically when the loud stuff comes into play. #sometimes they have these wordless competitions of who can make the most intricate noises or the loudest noises or the weirdest noises #or they try to see who can make the most outlandish sound that flesh can feasibly make. like heavy machinery. stuff that you wouldn't expec #someone to be able to make on their own without the help of equipment.

I keep seeing all this stuff in Metroid fandom (and arguably from the creative team themselves) about Samus having a motherly bond with (voice) The Baby but, like, she handed that thing over to be dissected by military scientists SO fast. I could see her being surprised that it had formed such an attachment with her by the end of Super Metroid cuz yeah that was unexpected and weird. But chances are high she saved that last bby metroid with the intent of it being used for study and destroyed in the process.

It is funny imagining her going on parent/child bonding trips with the galaxy's second most dangerous life form though.

This is probably an "old woman yells at clouds" moment, but I'm very very glad that Nintendo didn't let Samus get added to Fortnite. The game is so saturated with crossovers and skins and shit that I sincerely doubt the exposure would have meaningfully moved the needle on Metroid sales, and the series would just be devalued further by this inclusion tbh. I don't want to see Samus firing an AK-47 and doing tiktok dances and used as the mouthpiece for some kid yelling slurs. Wholeheartedly embracing my inner hater in this one instance, a bullet truly was dodged. Nintendo can really suck with their overprotectiveness of their IPs, but in this one case I'm grateful for it.
