Cure Earth (and...Latte? Rate?)
Healin Good set:
Grace • Fontaine • Sparkle
Healin Good set is complete! Considering how long it took between pieces, I'm just glad I didn't forget my cool plan of "use next character's main color as the bg color for this one" ^^' It looks super satisfying now with all four in one place!!

Nodoka thrashed against her bed sheets.
It has been a while since she has had a dream so visceral. A dream so deep, she could feel the throb of her actions in the dream space, in her flesh and bones. It exhausted her but when she awoke from her nightmare, it's beautiful. Brilliant. She is alive, she has been refreshed, she is burdened with the proof of those wonderful things and so, Nodoka is appreciative.
Her terror was proof that she was alive, and proof that it had all been a dream. She was stronger than her dreams, her fears, but she was still human made feeble by all that she had experienced in her sicknesses.
There were tremors in her hands. She was shaken and almost wanted to throw up. Already there was a scant taste of bile in the back of her throat and tears that welled up in her eyes. She is scared but she doesn’t want to be scared. Not anymore, not now that she is a heroine of grace and health and so Nodoka clung to that.
In her post-nightmare state, Nodoka bittersweetly remembered when there was a time, in her sickness, that if she had a nightmare, it was just exhausting. It didn’t come with all these side effects which were so overabundant and proof of how she had been revitalised and was now full of energy. Even negative energy, like fear, like the trembling in her hands and how she had borne her closest enemy.
Instead, in those darker days and grimmer nights, Nodoka would dream, merely, of being more sick. More tired. Her nightmares were just an endless sludge of nothingness that depressed her. This dream, this nightmare, was a cacophony of movement and action.
It was just a shame that this dream left her feeling pierced in her middle. She squeezed her eyes tight and tried to hug herself, defend herself but it was too late. The damage had been done and her body would always remember how it had been wounded.
Even if it was an echo of the true statement of the brutality that she had experienced, Nodoka was haunted by the sensation of Daruizen attacking her in the woods. How he had pushed inside of her a Mega Part and the agony that ensued. Where she had been forced to relive her sickness all over again. Somehow that was the biggest insult to injury of them all: the fact that she had to go through this again after her so-called miraculous recovery.
A recovery she can, ironically, thank Daruizen for as it was his vacating of her body which had ‘cured’ her as he had been the virus they could never pinpoint. Or call cancer or any other cause of serious illness. Just an unspecified trauma of the body and soul which kept her bedridden and chronic.
The taste of bile in her mouth further sours. Nodoka’s heart pounds inside her chest and she holds herself. She doesn’t want to tell Rabirin about her dream. About that vivid recollection of that awful memory, spiralled out of control in a million colours that hurt her eyes and intensified her pain, all twisted like the dimensions of a funhouse mirror.
She didn’t want to worry Rabirin, nor her parents. They want, no, they need for her to be strong. So does she but right now, in this post-nightmare fugue state that had Nodoka wracked and exhausted, she wanted to be weak. But there is someone who has no such burdensome expectations on her shoulders, be it of treating her like she was invincible or be it of treating her as though she were fragile glass. And it was her embrace and comfort that Nodoka sought.
   Asumi.
   It was Asumi.
Asumi was the only person who didn’t seem to see Nodoka in between such extremes. She was sweet and gentle, with a tender character: her lack of experience in everything and anything endearing as she had a fresh perspective from being born anew from winds of magic.
Literally everything about Asumi made Nodoka’s heart flutter. Her long, blonde hair and how flowy it was, her soft purple eyes framed by long lashes, the sound of her laughter which were like chimes. Her smile was always so genuine and sincere, the care that she had for others was admirable. Her hands, as well, were slender and yet so careful as she learned things like sewing and the use of cutlery. Her boundless enthusiasm for learning; it made Nodoka envious. She, too, wanted to try everything and anything now that she had her second lease on life.
It was all too little wonder that Nodoka had something of a crush on the sylph and thus, it was Asumi’s side, and her warm bed, that Nodoka wanted to crawl into.
(Though she shouldn’t have such thoughts, it was here that Asumi’s inexperience was advantageous to Nodoka for she didn’t know there would be a taboo between two girls of such different ages, perceived and otherwise, doing these things.)
Nodoka crept out of her bed, careful not to disturb Rabirin’s house set on the floor. The floorboards were cold at this hour of the night as Nodoka walked on her tip-toes, holding her breath as she passed through the threshold of her own bedroom door like a ghost. Same for how she crept down the hallway, past her parents’ closed door and found herself in front of the guest bedroom’s facade.
The door was a darker brown than usual in the dim of the night, long shadows cast from outside and Nodoka’s heart thumped in her chest. She shouldn’t. She knew she shouldn’t but her hormones, good and bad, were coursing through her and so. She dared.
She knocked on Asumi’s door and called her quietly. Too quietly to wake her but loud enough to grand herself permission to come inside. She had done her due courtesy.
Nodoka came inside and was careful to close the door seamlessly behind her. Latte, who was on top of Asumi’s bed, stirred before Asumi did. She gave a small yip and a slightly bigger yap; Nodoka smiled.
“Hey Latte…” she murmured, coming closer and closer to Asumi’s bedside.
She pet the top of Latte’s head and Latte began to scramble, causing Asumi to finally awaken. She wriggled under the covers and then rolled over. Nodoka had to stifle a giggle as she watched Asumi get her hair stuck out in every direction and she looked so groggy.
“G’mornin… Nodoka… Huh? It's not morning.” Asumi murmured.
“I, um, I had a nightmare.” Nodoka confessed, she held her hands in front of her chest. “And I… I’m sorry, its so childish but I wanted…”
“Oh, it's not childish at all to want comfort after a scary thing.” Asumi smiled sleepily. She didn’t even realise the irony of her statement as someone who had never been a child.
She outstretched both her arms in an embrace and Nodoka came, as though magnetised, into them. Nodoka cuddled into them and closed her eyes. She listened for Asumi’s heartbeat but she couldn’t find it, instead she just basked in the warmth of her, like she was a zephyr on a summer afternoon. Nodoka snuggled against her bosom and Asumi laughed.
“You're very cuddly.” Asumi said and she made more room for them both in her single bed.
“You're very warm,” Nodoka replied, happy, “and comfy.”
   “Good to know.” Asumi murmured.
She patted Nodoka’s far shoulder with one hand and covered them in her blankets with the other. Latte shuffled herself around, as well, and got cosy on Asumi’s left side whilst Nodoka enjoyed her right. She, herself, got comfortable beneath all the addition weight, too.
“Did you want to talk about your nightmare?” Asumi gently asked, now tracing circles on Nodoka’s shoulder rather than patting it.
“No, not really, I just want to cuddle and go back to sleep. I - I feel really safe with you.” Nodoka replied.
“Okay.” Asumi murmured and she hugged Nodoka little bit tighter.
Nodoka squeaked out a breath but she continued to nuzzle into Asumi’s chest. She wrapped her arms around Asumi’s frame and held onto her just as tightly. Under the covers of both the night and the blankets, Nodoka truly felt protected by Asumi, from her nightmares and from the germs of the Byougens and anything else which might threaten her peace.
Asumi was truly serenity personified and it was in her arms that Nodoka had only dreams of harmony, if she was remembering them at all. All that she knew for certain was the trembles in her hand had given way to stability, that she felt soothed to her very soul and when morning came, it was absolute bliss.
The morning sun was gentle, it shaded the guest room in warm hues of yellow and orange. The bed itself was comfortable and cosy despite being overloaded with Latte on top of Nodoka on top of Asumi. They had hardly moved or fidgetted the entire night, awaking in exactly the same position they had gone to sleep in. It was a little stiff yet one which was edged with joy rather than discomfort.
All in all, as Nodoka breathed in deep her first breaths of wakefulness, she felt better. So much better. Even though her heart was pounding so fast it was fit to burst, she felt recovered from her nightmare and the all anxieties that spurred forth from it.
   “Thank you, Asumi.” Nodoka murmured.
   “You're welcome.” Asumi bade her.
Asumi leaned in slightly on herself and kissed the middle of Nodoka’s forehead. Nodoka blushed, her heart began to beat rapidly. Asumi giggled at Nodoka’s embarrassment and then gave Latte the same kiss in the same post: the middle of her forehead. Utterly oblivious to Nodoka’s crush on her, it seemed, and yet, that small gesture and her embrace of the night before, the comfort she gave Nodoka, oh, it meant the world to her.
