anyways because jared padalecki understands NOTHING here's my polycule chart for sam winchester. the dark red lines are for failed/ended relationships, the bright red is for the ones that are endgame. Also yes i DO live in a world where samruby was endgame. What about it

my hc for sam is that she's a he/she/they transfem nonbinary lesbian(? i switch back and forth between hc'ing her as a dyke or a bisexual at will). gabriel is unaligned any pronouns genderfluid. jess bela and sarah are cis, jo is a nonbinary dyke of the 'dean winchester kinnie'variety (he/they), and eileen, anna, rowena, and ruby are trans women. 

this chart naturally has quite a few canon divergences in it:

my hc for ruby is that she turned on hell in lucifer rising and stuck with sam throughout seasons 5-10, but lucifer killed her while possessing castiel in the vessel before he revealed himself to sam. she was resurrected at the end of season 15 in my fix it. 

my hc for anna is that she turned on heaven during the song remains the same, having been brainwashed (in a similar manner as castiel was in season 8), and has been occasionally helping out the winchesters and ruby ever since. she fell in love with ruby during season 5-6. 

jo died in abandon all hope, as in canon, but came back to life during season 6 because anna felt she had a debt to repay and resurrected them as a favor to the winchesters. he began dating anna in season 8, while dean was in purgatory, and realized that they'd had feelings for ruby after ruby's death in season 11. 

bela died in season 3, as in canon, but in my hc she reappeared as a demon in season 10 during the demon dean arc as crowley's right hand. she and anna had a Thing and they're in love. listen im smart

about sam gender: i dont think she realized that they were trans till later in life. ive always hc'd dean as figuring out he's trans kind of young, and sam figuring it out much later- probably during the trials, actually? he started realizing during college but before she got a chance to really Explore it, dean showed back up, and they were back on the road and it was repression time. however, they came out in the later seasons and dean accepted her wholeheartedly.

Gabriel hummed and ran his fingers through Rowena’s hair where it was sprawled around her head on the pillow. Even in the darkness, his eyes could perceive it’s shade, and he couldn’t help but stare at it from where he lay curled behind her, propped up on one elbow, watching her as the night passed outside.

Gabriel’s eyes had seen every color in existence - and there were so many that human eyes couldn’t perceive. He’d seen infrareds and ultraviolets and there was a color that vibrated at about 10^11 hertz that Gabriel had always been particularly fond of.

None of these colors could hold a candle to the red currently running through his fingers. This was Gabriel’s not-so-new favorite color.

“Gabriel…” Rowena’s voice trilled through the silence. “Dearest, are you possessing some kind of aversion to letting me sleep?”

Gabriel chuckled and nuzzled into her hair, tightening an arm around her. “It’s overrated.”

Rowena sighed. “For an almighty archangel perhaps,” she glanced over her shoulder at him, “but for a lady of my exquisite maturity, it is not. When you're over three hundred years old, beauty sleep isn’t an option, love.”

Gabriel huffed. “I’m way older than you.”

“Then act it, please. One would think I share my bed with a child.”

“That’s not what you said last night.”

“It is still last night.”

“Oh yeah?” He grinned wolfishly. “Well, sounds like we have time for another round then.”

She snorted. “I’m afraid you may be a bit overestimating both your abilities and your charm in comparison to those of this rather alluring pillow.”

Gabriel gasped. He propped up on an elbow and placed a hand on his chest. “You wound me!” he said dramatically.

“Aye, and you annoy me,” she shifted to look up at him, a playful (if somewhat exasperated) smirk painting her features, “but here we are.”

Gabriel smiled down at her. He lightly traced his fingers down her hairline before resting his hand gently on the side of her face. “Here we are,” he whispered. His thumb brushed over her cheekbone, then down over her bottom lip. “I’m the luckiest.”

“Hmm.” She pulled him down for a soft kiss. “You’re lucky, are you?”

“The most. Not sure I can say the same for you though. You ended up with kind of a loser.”

She scowled and booped his nose. “I’ll not have you insulting my taste in such a way.” She raised an eyebrow at him. “I ended up just fine, I like to think. Luck, however, had nothing to do with it. Everything I have, I scraped and clawed and fought for.” She gently gripped his chin as she met his eyes. “Including you.”

Her hand moved to the side of her face, and he turned to kiss her palm, closing his eyes and sighing into the touch. “I feel more like I tumbled and wandered blindly for eons before - finally - accidentally stumbling into the light,” he whispered to her palm.

“Well, no one gets it right the first time I suppose.” Her voice was soft. “I do seem to remember running after my fair share of bad ends once upon a time.”

Gabriel opened his eyes and gazed down at her. “No one gets it right the first time,” he repeated back to her with a soft chuckle. He bent down one more time to brush his lips over hers before cuddling back behind her, hugging her close. “Go back to sleep. I’ll watch over you.”

“Oh my, how chivalrous,” she teased.

“You know it.”

“Hmm,” she hummed happily as she traced her fingers over his arm, her breathing already beginning to even back out.

“The luckiest,” he whispered contentedly, pressing a kiss to the back of her head as she fell asleep.

15 x 02 Raising Hell Reaction

Gabriel: *hurt* If you guys wanted a threesome, all you had to do was ask.

Me: I’m honestly still kinda processing this. On the one hand, it was kinda funny (flirting with SCIENCE), on the other hand it still seems so randomly out of the blue. I do like how Dean telling Rowena to not get involved with Ketch was like Determination +10 on Rowena’s part and there were some funny lines ‘It was more a torturer, torturee relationship so I didn’t get to know him.”  but yeah, still out of the blue. A friend commented that it felt like they were trying to recreate the flirtation scene of Gabewena in Season 13, but that felt less forced. It’s definitely not fan service since the cries are for Samwena but maybe she just wants to get laid? And Ketch definitely has a thing for strong women so I can see the attraction there.

More importantly though, my gripes are as follows:

a) Why doesn’t Ketch have an anti-possession tattoo? I’ll ascribe it to MoL arrogance due to the deal they’d made with Crowley to keep demons out of hte UK, but you’d think that once he’d been assigned to the states (or hell, after he died and came back) that he’d got one.

b) Why is he still working with demons? Ketch is many things, but stupid has never been one of them. After the Asmodeus debacle you’d think he’d knocked that off.

In Season 13 he existed for purposes of plot convenience and got some growth. This ep felt like a bit of a regression in that he’s gone back to pure plot convenience. Given that Dabb’s recent interview called him a protagonist, I hope it means that he’ll be back again so we can go back to some more of that growth.

In terms of other story threads:

-The boys were barely in it at all this episode. I didn’t necessarily mind, that Dean/Castiel scene where Castiel calls them real was pretty much everything. It was just striking because it’s got to be near the top of the list in terms of lack of screen time. I’m guessing it was a timing thing (maybe SDCC?) as Castiel and Jack were minimal too, but it did stand out.

- Amara was everything. All the mic drop moments. Now girl, move yourself to Vegas. You’re better than Reno. But also “Did you smite my masseuse?”

- Man, poor Kevin. That’s all I got to say. It is irksome though, because honestly, what point did that serve? It better come out that there’s some plot relevance for this recently revealed dick move. Given that the ep ended with him wandering the earth again, I’m sure there will be but still. Something ain’t wright.

-I do like that Sam using the God gun had lasting consequences on God too. I just wonder why, and more importantly, how. Chuck obviously knew that odds were high they’d use it somehow and I can’t believe that someone omniscient like him would create a device with that kind of backfire effect. Maybe it’s The Empty or Billie fucking with things?

-Speaking of something fucking with things, I can understand Cas not being able to heal Sam’s God Gunshot wound, but why can’t he heal Ketch? Is it just because Ketch is siding with the WInchesters? Are the seven angels that are left fucking with Castiel again?

And finally:

- In one episode, Discount Colonel Sanders 2.0 (aka Jack the Ripper) accomplished more than Asmodeus did all of Season 13. Just further proof that the demon existed purely as a means to bringing Gabe back

This episode was slower and very clearly a exposition/set up episode that did leave some interesting things to explore next week while also just feeling...odd. IDK. I think I’ll need to see the conclusion of the episode before I can form a full conclusion about how I feel about it.

I am just...speechless. There was not a single part of this episode that I hated that I wasn’t supposed to hate (fuck you lucifer)

Like, Rowena and Dean’s big character development moments. I cried real tears, I sweat buckets from fear and the intensity of the tunnel scene, the innuendos and Gabewena at the beginning....the promo for next week, Dean and Mary’s moment, the list goes on. I cannot wait to read all the meta about this ep, all the codas, all the flailing. I am in love.
