A new little old mourning piece just made it to the shop. For those asking me about more inexpensive pieces to start their mourning collections, this gold and seed pearl pendant and the Victorian blue enamel one in one of my recent posts are easy ways to start and then add onto. For all the Georgian pieces you might come across, there aren’t many available. Many are in private collections, far too many are fakes (be cautious on ebay) and, while some that do come up might be out of people’s budgets, there are many wonderful sellers who offer layaway. . And because I love mourning pieces so much, of all ages not just antique, I’d love for you to tag your collections with not-the-longest-hashtag I could’ve come up with: #thefamilythatmournstogetherstaystogether.
