draw parallels between the harleyberts and the strilondes all you want as is valid but today im drawing parallels between the shipping chart specifically in regards to strife specibi

im thinking about how john and rose started out using whatever the fuck they had lying around the house while dave and jade started with real ass weapons.

john and rose started with regular household objects and turned them into formidable fantasy weapons; a hammer to a warhammer, a pair of knitting needles into twin magic wands.

dave and jade, meanwhile, arguably the ones who had their childhoods "taken" from them the most, start out with actual weapons, and simply upgrade into better versions of them. a rifle and a sword.

thinking about how dave's shitty knockoff anime sword turns into a fantasy broadsword by the end of the comic, while jade only ever has a rifle.

thinking about how jade deliberately turns down the only upgraded rifle she's ever offered. jade, the one who was once the beta kid most arguably described as living in a fantasy, besides rose. but where rose upgraded her needles into magic wands, wands that would aid her when she went grimdark, jade never upgrades her gun.

jade's only weapon until she goes godtier and fights with those powers is the gun her grandfather gave her, the one she'd been using since she was a child
