First look at Green Border

A new trailer has been released for Green Border, which is set to release June 21, 2024.

In the treacherous and swampy forests that make up the so-called “green border” between Belarus and Poland, refugees from the Middle East and Africa are lured by government propaganda promising easy passage to the European Union. Unable to cross into Europe and unable to turn back, they find themselves trapped in a rapidly escalating geopolitical stand-off. An unflinching depiction of the migrant crisis captured in stark black-and-white, this riveting film explores the intractable issue from multiple perspectives: a Syrian family fleeing ISIS caught between cruel border guards in both countries; young guards instructed to brutalize and reject the migrants; and activists who aid the refugees at great personal risk.

I keep talking about locations in The Indori Cycle when I post artwork, so I thought maybe it's time to post the maps. These are not to scale, if that wasn't obvious, but they've been super helpful in making sure I know where everyone is headed throughout the course of the story. Tsh'ander is from Greenborder (only people who've never actually been there call it the Green Border), and the Meli is from an underground ruin near Clan West's base settlement. Verrim and Relia are both from Prisath, the capital. Myn and Riv are from Dome Riven, although Riv's original birthplace is closer to what's now Ahaal. Deidric is from Actatha, in the lowest level of Mountainhome. Cieni is from Greater Ridleef, the underwater half of the city. Tyalaskr (and all his sisters) are from the Deadlands, which weren't dead when he was born but are now thanks to some earth-salting that went on some time ago. Marashac and Asforahl are both technically from the area marked as Mara Indori, although it didn't get that title until well after they'd both sublimated into their respective trees. Asforahl sublimated somewhere in the Farlands while Marashac stayed close to home.

Here are Tsh'ander and Verrim, the first two characters introduced in the story.

Tsh'ander is the ambassador of the thevier people, a child of Clan West over in Greenborder. She’s the one of the eldest of the current generation, making her one of the first thevier to have magic back since the Deadlands, well, died.

Verrim is a priest of the House of the Sun, a seer serving under the First of Gold and Gleaming, Sulla. Verrim was born without his right arm and about a third of both lungs as part of a bargain his mother struck with Sulla to assure Verrim couldn’t be taken from her.
