It's been a long time since their escape from Eden. Now, they were located far from Eden, much further away where they had a better chance of hiding safely without anybody trying to take any of them away for who they were. Lucas' friends had successfully escaped too with their families, meaning the blond teen had his friends alongside him throughout this journey. It felt nice to the boy, to have such a great support circle around him. He'd never have to be alone again.

Which is one of the reasons why he's glad to be by his friends during this time. He, along with Ness and Ninten, had finally caught up to a cult who has been causing trouble in the neighbourhood; the Happy Happyism. Ness had a few run ins himself, warning them to stop causing trouble or he'll do something about them.

Guess what happened? They refused. So, now Ness is dealing with it. Like he said he would. Of course, his friends wanted to help. The three of these boys were brothers at this point, very close knitted. Such close friends.

Peeping over a wall, they see a couple of the cult members talking, noting their blue outfits that gave them away immediately. Ness smirks.

"Bingo. The bastards thought they could get away. I told you they hang out here."

Lucas hums, frowning. "You were right. At least we alerted my parents of the right place, then."

"That's right. They caused trouble for your folks too, so I can understand them wanting to get even." Ness responds to the blond, nodding.

Speaking of Lucas' family, they should be here any moment. Right?

so the joke is like. larry runs the site. and made everything gray

but that sucks because its awful when an april fools joke actually hinders the site. like wow yippee. bulbapedia is colorless for a day. wooo.

also im gonna be honest i know larry's whole joke and theme is to be plain and that makes him lovable but i honestly just stared at this for like 30 seconds not getting the joke. i forgot larry's name. i thought he was named steve or something.

Got to Happy Happy Village and I can’t help but think that if the Tazmily villagers lived in EB times that Abbot and Abbey 100% would’ve joined Happy Happyism. I love them god bless but they are so fucking gullible sometimes

Part Two of my rant about the Obliteration Route in Deltatraveler from someone who's only seen letsplays because she's only playing pacifist.

TL;DR I live reblog a rant about the Obliteration Route and how Susie's actions are out of character like Alphys ranting about Mew Mew's character arch.

Ok, now on to thoughts on section three of the obliteration Route in Deltatravler.

It’s two to three sections late, but finally, Susie (and surprisingly, Noelle) leaves the party. Honestly, I think this should have happened around section 2 after they killed the first Happy Happyism cultist. (Maybe before this, you could use “Self-defense” as an excuse, but they were armed with a F*&KING PAINT BRUSH!)

Susie would be mad at the confrontation in Q.Cs. I kind of get it if we were going for the memeish thing of her being like "I’m not mad, just disappointed,” but no, she would genuinely be mad.

Just generally, I see in section three almost what the Obliteration Route should have been like since Section 2, maybe Section 1.

I thought Devious Susie was, like, turning Susie evil, but from the looks of it, it seems like it's basically (almost) what I think would be in Susie’s character from the first place and NOT after you force Kris to attack her. Still feel like its not enough of a rebellion for Susie of all people but still.

(Especially as she would’ve thrown away that stick at the Paula and Ness boss fight, at least, probably earlier.)

Anyway, apologies for this rant. Just wanted to get out some thoughts. TL;DR because Deltarune established that Susie was the most rebellious against the player's commands, she would have thrown up the towel WAY earlier in the obliteration route. She wouldn't put up with any snowgrave-obliteration route BS, especially after her character development in chapter 1.

Idk maybe I'm bias bc I'm writing a snowgrave fic. (WITH NEW CHAPTER COMING ON THE 16TH IN WHATEVER TIMEZONE THE US AND UK HAVE!)

The incessant and rather eccentric nature of this girl’s prayer reminded Jeff of another religious group that Ness and Paula had told him about... Happy-Happyism, where the way to make everyone happy was to paint everything blue. Though perhaps that was insensitive, but that was really Jeff’s only experience with religion, even secondhand. 

“I... I’m afraid I’m not particularly religious, thank you, though. Is there a reason you’re doing this in the middle of the road?”

Sad/Angst Headcanons for CLH Verse #1

Lucas shares a lot of trauma with his canon counterpart. There are however differences in comparison, but there is still heavy trauma there.

Electricity is not a fear in this verse. It's fire. A little flame is fine, but a lot of fire? Enough to burn a village? It'll send him over the edge.

One could tell him over and over that his family will never abandon him, but his brain will still have trouble processing it. It's a massive fear he has that is sometimes painful to overcome.

Canon Lucas went through three years of trauma. CLH Lucas went through seven years. He lost his father as well in this verse. Boney wasn't around at the time either. He struggled badly in Eden to get through the day.

Under extreme emotional distress, Lucas will get the urge to pick off his scales on his arms. To try and not do this, his hands will wiggle his fingers, or he will open and close his hands to stop the urge.

If anything happened to Boney, Lucas wouldn't recover. That dog is his best friend. Take Boney away, you'll be left with a highly distressed psychic child that will cause a massive ice storm around people nearby.

After the incident with the Happy Happyism cult, Lucas has a prosthetic leg that goes from the knee below. He's started experiencing phantom pains from time to time.

Has become a tad protective of Claus. Lucas is not losing him again.

OMG I have yet to see the newest episode but I am in love with Happy's newest saying. "Damnit, Toby, put a baby in me." Is my all time fave now. I can't wait to hear her say it. It makes me laugh a little when I read it but I can totally see Happy saying that. Can't wait for tonight to watch the episode.

Mother3 theory; Easter special

Hummingbird Egg

In Mother3, Lucas, Duster, and others are at Osohe Castle looking for the Hummingbird Egg or Egg of Light. Some of the people searching for it are antagonists. Duster loses his memories when he finds and touches the egg. He hides the egg somewhere. He then wanders around (forgetting about Lucas and the others because his memories are gone) and joins a band called DCMC (Desperado Crush Mambo Combo), but having forgotten his name, he gets renamed Lucky. There are now five members: OJ, Magic, Baccio, Lucky, and Shimmy Zmizz. They play at a music hall called Club Titiboo. After Lucas wins a game (rock/paper/scissors) against the other four members of DCMC, Lucky/Duster is released from DCMC and rejoins Lucas’s team, but his memories haven’t returned, so he asks Lucas (and his team) to help him find the egg again. When they finally find the egg again, it’s inside a Clay Golem that seems broken, but it springs back to “life” and runs away. They have to chase it, and when they finally catch up with it again, it’s truly broken down in a trash heap. Reclaiming the egg, Duster’s memories are restored. Which isn’t all good, since that meant all the bad memories, too.

Mother3 also has Fassad (parallel to Undertaker deserting the reaper organization and his later role with the Blue Sect) selling something called Happy Boxes to villagers. The Happy Boxes make villagers obedient to King Porky, and the music of DCMC helps break that trance by creating a trance of its own… sort of.

There’re also a couple things I’d like to briefly bring up about Mother2 (aka EarthBound in the US, the second installment in the game series) here:

There is a band called Runaway Five, (even though it has six members). Ness (main protagonist) saves them from their manager at a theater, actually he does this for them twice, at two different theaters where they worked. First time, they repay him with a ride to another town. Second time, they assist him with defeating an enemy.

There’s this religious cult called Happy Happyism. Their members include the Insane Cultists and most of the Happy Happy villagers. Their main intention is to turn the entire world blue, even if that means literally painting everything blue. Their leader is called Carpainter (a pun on carpenter).

There are already two major parallels to the Hummingbird Egg situation in Black Butler. The first appears in the Easter egg hunt of Ch66, “Frenzy”.

Lizzy’s painted egg

In ch66, there’s a late celebration of Easter (due to the whole Campania thing), and Lizzie shows up with painted eggs for a hunt. Queen Victoria’s butlers (antagonists) show up with painted eggs, too. But the hunt begins when Lizzie hides the egg she painted herself (her father painted the rest of the ones she brought). She tests “Ciel’s” memory by suggesting that they used to do this every Easter (before the attack), and he fails by pretending he knew that. Truth is, this is the first time she’s ever painted one of the eggs, so she’s never had “Ciel” search for a particular egg before. Then the hunt begins, and the antagonists are there, as well as Edward, Soma and Agni, and of course the Phantomhive household. All competing to find and claim Lizzie’s egg first. We know what happens in ch66, so I won’t rehash all the details, but it’s important to note that, afterwards, Lizzie asks herself what has happened to “Ciel’s” memories.

The second major parallel occurs much later, in the blue sect arc.

Phantom Five

This time it’s not about actual eggs because Lizzie’s egg has now been replaced by Lizzie herself. She’s gone missing after refusing to return home from Sphere Music Hall. She’s essentially hiding herself. Edward asks our earl to help him find his sister, who is basically the whole world to him. When Sebastian is sent in to investigate the place and hopefully find Lizzie, he succeeds, but she fights him. He knocks her out and brings her back to the townhouse, but she wakes up, escapes, and runs away.

With Lizzie in hiding again and being uncooperative, it’s time for our earl to do something more drastic (and imaginative) than just sending his butler back to the music hall. But the only reason I see for it to be “start a rival band” and “put Edward in it” is because of Mother3’s DCMC and Duster/Lucky.

With the name Phantom Five, it evokes the Runaway Five from Mother2. But it’s closer in casting to the five members of DCMC in Mother3. Somewhere, I’ve got an old post where I show how the members of DCMC and Phantom Five match up. Oh, here it is, from November 2016! 😆 Anyway, Edward doesn’t change his name, but his stage persona is nothing like his regular personality. Much like when Duster becomes Lucky. And he’s doing it all because he hopes it makes Lizzie return. When Lizzy finally returns (but to Phantomhive Manor), she feels emotionally broken, much like what’s left of that Clay Golem.

I can also see the Runaway Five of Mother2 as a parallel to the Starlight Four, since our earl helps the Prefect Four deal with issues at Weston, and then he later releases them, as Starlight Four, from having to perform anymore at Sphere Music Hall (though Gregory Violet is captured, and the other three go into hiding). Also, we haven’t likely seen the last of them, so who knows what else they will need saving from… before this series is over?

So…. In Black Butler, we have the Blue Sect, instead of Mother2’s Happy Happyism. We have the Starlight Four instead of Mother3’s Happy Boxes and, to a lesser degree, Mother2’s Runaway Five. We have Phantom Five instead of Mother3’s DCMC (and to some extent Mother2’s Runaway Five). We have Edward mostly as Duster, Lizzie as an aspect of Duster but mostly as the Hummingbird Egg (and as Duster’s most powerful weapon). And, of course, we have our earl instead of Mother3’s Lucas (and to a lesser degree, Mother2’s Ness. Finny also strikes me as a parallel to Ness).

Kind of complicated and a bit convoluted, so feel free to ask questions about this in comments, etc., and I’ll try to answer in some more understandable way.
