really dont think under normal circumstances the lords in black wouldve accepted anything but a blood sacrifice in exchange for taking max. like either steph wouldve had to kill pete or pete wouldve had to kill steph they wouldn'tve been happy otherwise. but they were probably so fucking delighted over seeing grace fuck a ghost that they were just "you know what? Yeah. Okay. We'll allow it."
Ive been seeing a few people say “how is the homeless guy in x musical if ted dies before he can become the time bastard” & idk if people have said this before but I do think there’s a relatively simple canon explanation
Witch in the Web implies the alternate timelines only came into existence as a result of Hannah’s birth, meaning the timelines only deviate at some point after November 29th 2005 (based on what we know about Hannah’s age in Black Friday that’s the earliest possible date for her to be born)
If Ted got trapped in the past on October 17th 2004 like he says, then he would’ve been homeless when the timelines started deviating, so the homeless guy from the TGWDLM timeline & all the other timelines is the Ted from the Time Bastard timeline, not the Ted of that timeline.
Which also explains why even though Ted is presumably alive in the NPMD timeline, Tinky already has him in the Bastards Box.
Joey will go from playing a nerdy teen to someone's weird creepy boss to a homeless guy to a fckin bird. If that isn't versatility then I don't know what is

i saw a video the summoning but from the digital ticket and i think its sick and twisted and incredibly fascinating the way tinky is reaching for pete, and the way pete is so fixated on him for a good part of the song. imagine how terrifying it would be for this lord in black to appear and to already want you to complete his fucked up set of spankoffskis. especially in the digital ticket, tinky looks like he starts reaching to pete more after the idea of steph sacrificing him comes up. im so obsessed with tinky and his weird lil fixation on pete and ted.
Something about the Hatchetfield trilogy villains being able to break the fourth wall only after they gain the power of the Lord(s) In Black.
In TGWDLM, Paul and Emma acknowledge the audience as a shrub-lined alleyway, while the apotheosis addresses them throughout, specifically in the opening and closing numbers. And only then does Emma acknowledge them, as she's been infected and is screaming for help.
In Black Friday, the audience is addressed by that one Joey-played villain whose name I don't remember rn when he has one hold an apple (and maybe more I don't remember).
In NPMD, Max interacts with the audience after coming back, including telling them to shut up. And then Grace interacts only after it's revealed she kept the book ("did you think I'd stop with him?").
Yet another convoluted reason for me to say I like the stage version over the soundtrack.
