Part 1

Kamiyo Tatsunami, Tomoe Yukino, and Ebisu Minagi: They all work as maids/ninjas/bodyguards for Meiya and Yuuhi.

Akane Suzumiya: 2nd princess of the Suzumiya Family. She is very popular, due to her great skills at sports and friendly nature. She is very close with her sister, and wants to make sure she is healthy and safe. Because of that fact, she wants to become the next queen, but she is fine if she doesn't, wanting to become a knight to protect Haruka otherwise. She has a rivalry (and is best friends with) a noble from the Kagami Kingdom, Chizuru Sakaki.

Haruko Kashiwagi: 2nd-in-command of the Kagami Family Royal Guard. She's an athletic tomboy with lots of friends. She is close with Takeru and likes to tease him a lot. She uses the money she makes from her job to support her two younger brothers, who she loves deeply.

Yashiro Kasumi: Agaa~ A young orphan who was taken in by the Kagami Family to be almost like a 2nd princess. She and Sumika are like sisters, spending lots of time together and having an inseparable bond. She knows much more than what she is letting on, and always has some kind of idea about what someone is thinking. She also has some sort of connection to Yuuko.

Yuuhi Mitsurugi: The princess of the Mitsurugi Family. She is widely adored by all, with her kindness and beauty being known to those even outside of her kingdom. She is considered the ideal ruler for this exact reason. She loves Meiya a lot, and has done all she can to make sure that she is safe. Although she is always surrounded by bodyguards, she still is able to put up a fight on her own if need be.

Isumi Michiru: The 2nd princess of the Isumi Family. The Isumi Family has 4 princesses, all of whom love the same man, Masaki Maejima. Because of this, they made an agreement of whoever wins over Masaki's heart becomes the next queen. Isumi loves him, but she has fairly low self esteem, so she has partially given up on her dream. Regardless, she aspires to be a knight, and is very studious and a great leader.

Hayase Mitsuki: The leader of the Suzumiya Royal Guard. Mitsuki is a noble woman with a strong heart. However, she blames herself for the accident that happened to Haruka, which is why she vows to protect her. She is best friends with Haruka, which is why she does the best she can to hide the feelings she harbors towards Takayuki, so her best friend can be with him instead.

Haruka Suzumiya: The 1st princess of the Suzumiya Kingdom, and who is the exact type of gal who would come to mind when thinking of a princess. She is almost angelic in her beauty and cares deeply for all of her subjects. However, she is very frail, and this frailness was only made worse after an assassination attempt left her in a coma for 3 years. She is in love with her personal guard, Narumi Takayuki, who just so happens to be the same man her best friend, Mitsuki, loves as well. While her subjects do generally like her, many feel as if she is too frail to take up the position of queen. If that is the case, Haruka is fine, as her dream is to be a picture book author.

Munakata Misae: Princess Touko's bodyguard, best friend, and definite possible lover. She’s rather aloof at times, but likes to tease others, especially Touko. She is always waiting for someone, but Touko is the only one who knows who this person is.

Kazama Touko: The princess of a small client state of the Isumi Kingdom, the Kazama Family. She is similar to Haruka in the sense that she is also the ideal princess. While beautifully feminine, she does still have some sass, which makes her well liked. She is very close with Munakata.

Anchor announced that they will localize the much-requested Age-developed Kimi Ga Nozomu Eien, aka KimiNozo, in the west and is currently in production for release.

While the developer didn’t reveal too much more of their plans about the release, it is a fairly sought after localization. In the company’s survey, KimiNozo won 29% of the 1,292 respondents’ votes to be brought west, beating Muv-Luv Unlimited -The Day After- and Muv-Luv Alternative: Total Eclipse.

Kimi Ga Nozomu Eien first launched on PC in 2001 before releasing on other consoles in Japan. The title then received an anime adaptation tiled Rumbling Hearts, but sadly, the game itself never saw an official western release.

Kimi Ga Nozomu Eien follows Takayuki Narumi, who has become friends with Mitsuki Hayase, seemingly because Mitsuki’s best friend, Haruka Suzumiya, has a crush on him. Shinji Taira, Takayuki, and Mitsuki have all grown close until Haruka confesses her feelings, and Takayuki goes out with her to not hurt her feelings.

Things begin to become complicated after their relationship gets intimate, and Takayuki and Mitsuki realize their feelings for each other. That is until a tragedy occurs, and their lives are never the same.

I had been wondering what the anime was gonna do for the voice actors of Hayase’s successors. Personally, my choice would be to have one person voice all of them to emphasize the fact that physically, all of her successors are exactly the same as her. But then they’d need a voice actor able to make all of their voices distinct and different, plus the range to voice Kahaku, and it seems like it would be less taxing for them and Hayase’s voice actor to just get different people to voice her successors.

But recently I checked and Hayase’s voice actor has been announced, she’s Saiga Mitsuki who has an extensive background voicing both male and female characters. Beyond “low-voice” she doesn’t really have a specific type that she’s cast as, so she should be able to do unique voices for each of Hayase’s successors.

Of course, whether or not that’ll happen hasn’t been confirmed yet, but it’s nice to imagine.

To Your Eternity TV Anime Postponed to April 2021

  NHK announced today that the upcoming To Your Eternity TV anime, which adapts the manga of the same name from A Silent Voice creator Yoshitoki Oima, has been delayed from October 2020 to April 2021. Crunchyroll also revealed that the series would be coming to the service during Virtual Crunchyroll Expo.

    Brain's Base (In/Spectre) will handle the production of the anime with Mashiko Murata (NARUTO Spin-Off: Rock Lee & His Ninja Pals) directing, Shinzo Fujita (Future Card Buddyfight X) handling the series composition, and Koji Yabuno (Space Brothers) in charge of the character design.

  The voice cast was announced back in July, including Reiji Kawashima as Fushi, Rie Hikisaka as March, Aya Uchida as Parona, Rikako Aikawa as Pioran, Mitsuki Saiga as Hayase, and Kenjiro Tsuda as The Beholder.

    The To Your Eternity manga is currently licensed by Kodansha in the US and is available in physical and digital formats, with simultaneous publishing of chapters as they are released in Japan on Crunchyroll. Volume 12 of the English-language version released physically on September 1. The official synopsis of the series from Crunchyroll reads:

  A lonely boy wandering the Arctic regions of North America meets a wolf, and the two become fast friends, depending on each other to survive the harsh environment. But the boy has a history, and the wolf is more than meets the eye as well…

  To Your Eternity is currently scheduled to broadcast from April 2021 on NHK-E for 20 episodes.

REVIEW | "To Your Eternity" | B3 - Boston Bastard Brigade

In the beginning, the Beholder (Kenjiro Tsuda) drops a white orb. It’s not much at first, but after thousands of years, it starts to take the shape of a rock. That rock then transforms into a wolf, replacing the one that laid dying on its surface. Thus begins the adventure of the being known as Fushi (Reiji Kawashima), the protagonist of To Your Eternity.

Soon he finds the owner of the wolf, known here simply as The Boy. After his death, he finds himself transforming into the human, continuing on with the journey. Fushi learns the ways of life, sometimes in the toughest of ways. Fortunately, thanks to his immortality, he can take as many hits as he wants. And this power of his comes in handy when it comes time to protect the people that enter his life. A young sacrificial lamb named March (Rie Hikisaka), the elderly Pioran (Rikako Aikawa), the deformed Gugu (Ryoko Shiraishi/Taku Yashiro), and the outcast Tonari (Eri Inagawa) show Fushi new and interesting ways of looking at the world.

However, no matter how much joy is brought to Fushi, almost every meeting is met with danger and tragedy. Following Fushi are creatures known as Nokkers, who attempt to steal his powers and cause harm to those who stand by him. There’s also Hayase (Mitsuki Saiga), who becomes obsessed with Fushi’s powers and skills. As these threats appear, Fushi begins to weigh the options of staying with his friends or staying far away from them for their own safety.

To Your Eternity is a very heavy show, as it comes from A Silent Voice creator Yoshitoki Oima. There’s plenty of deep emotion on display from Fushi and the rest of the characters. One moment, you are laughing with March as she plays with her favorite dolls; the next, your heart aches when she’s sent off to be a sacrifice for a mythical beast. That heartache will stay with you all the way through its first season, as even the funnier moments are singed by the darker parts.
