i’m kinda late to this because i keep forgetting but HERE THEY ARE (some of these are stolen from my other headcanons post and also half of these are very unserious)

ian was so excited when debbie was born, he loved being a big brother. whenever anybody tried to take the newborn baby out of his arms, he would throw a fit and insist that the baby belonged to him and you can’t touch her!

the two of them have gotten drunk on mimosas at like 10 in the morning on several occasions

when debbie was in her phase where she was going on about “ginger racism” she kept sending ian photos of gingers/articles about discrimination against gingers and so he blocked her number (temporarily!)

they have a gallagher groupchat (canon) and debbie talks the most in it. ian leaves the groupchat constantly because of the spamming so she has to add him back

also kinda going off of that^ ian is horrible at responding to texts/calls and leaves debbie on read CONSTANTLY, which pisses debbie off, making her spam his messages/voicemail until he gives in and texts her back (she’s so me)

(pre-season 1) when frank and monica would fight ian would try to calm her down while fiona and lip tried to break up the fights. carl would usually be fine and just watch/go up to his room, but debbie would get scared and cry, worried about either of the parents getting hurt or leaving.

debbie used to make her siblings bracelets out of like rainbow loom and shit and she made ian the most and he, unlike lip, wore all of them (no matter how sparkly they were).

(pre-3x05) debbie would beg ian to take her with him when he went to the milkovich house to go see mandy, which was incredibly awkward for ian, considering what he was really doing going there to do.

debbie visited ian the most in prison (lip tried to also, but he was also focusing on tami and fred).

ian taught debbie how to throw a punch.

heidi runs away and devastates debbie, which leads to her crying over her loneliness and venting to ian constantly, so eventually ian and mickey come up with a way to reunite sebbie (yes i’m writing about this).

also this isn’t a headcanon but i have a question and it’s why the fuck wasn’t sandy at ian and mickey’s anniversary party if she was so important in the wedding like that could’ve been our tiny sebbie reunion we could’ve gotten like one frame of them talking and i’d be satisfied

Are they seriously just going to dump Debbie with Heidi not even two full episodes before the end? They could have used the last two episodes to build Debbie as learning to be self-sufficient or have her grow up and realize she needs to focus on putting Franny first. Instead they throw in a random girl we won't even get a chance to know properly, let alone a chance to care about her.

Considering Debbie gave Sandy a lot of shit about abandoning her own child, she's running a bit of a risk here. I mean, what happens when Heidi gets locked up again and happens to take Debbie down with her. Then Franny will be all alone, why? Because Debbie can't stand to be by herself for more than a few days at a time.

It's funny seeing posts trying to say Debbie is worst when 1. she's not and 2. moralizing over which sibling is the worst misses the point of the show entirely. From the beginning, it's shown that Frank and Monica have severely traumatized their kids and left them with no guidance and very little moral compass. What little guidance they do get is from Fiona who received zero from Frank and Monica. So I don't find it productive to point fingers at any sibling and label them the worst because they have to build morals on their own. They weren't taught any better. It's why they rarely do that to each other apart from the moments in which they are at odds with each other, which they do because they were brought up by Frank who has the emotional maturity of a preschooler. To be honest, take any one character out of Shameless and put them in another show and they would be the worst character on that show. But Shameless is a show that's very much about: These are bad people who do bad things but we love them anyway. The show ending with most of them in a relatively stable place shows that they can be better.

*I don't care what the show says, Debbie does not leave with Heidi. She heals from her breakup and finds a nice place for her and Franny to live. Fuck JW

Ethan Wood was born and raised to do one thing and one thing only: play football. Being the middle son of legendary English starting forward Oliver Wood, there was only one path for this budding young football prodigy and it was to follow in daddy’s footsteps donning the prestigious red and white of the three lions before him.  

Young Ethan was a natural talent and he picked up the game rather quickly, spending every free moment practicing in the yard or scribbling down strategies. Training never ended for him, not even when he twisted his ankle making runs with his older brother. Though Julian encouraged Ethan to rest, Oliver insisted that Ethan “toughen up,” “be a man,” and  “keep practicing.” With his father’s words as law of the land, keep practicing is exactly what the impressionable child did. He suppressed his tears through the pain, not wanting to appear weak in front of his father, only wanting to make him proud and carry on his legacy.

By age nine, Ethan was sent to the Arsenal Youth Academy in London trading in a proper grade school education for the pitch. Of course, what he lacked in brains, his skills on the pitch made up for. He moved up the rankings with ease all the while reveling in the perks that came with being an up and coming star athlete: parties, hookups, popularity. As Ethan’s athletic abilities along with his ego continued to grow, so did his competitive edge, arrogance, and hot temper which is known for getting him into trouble on and off the pitch.

After years of training, Ethan finally secured a spot on the first team of his beloved Arsenal FC. It didn’t take long for him to become the footy star worthy of his surname. Sure, he was still a youngster and had to overcome those pesky rookie years and comparisons to his father, even spending the half a season on the bench for his hot headed temper, but he managed to make a name for himself even if slightly tarnished.

In his off time, Ethan maintained his growing popularity by making appearances at all the London hot spots and kept up a rather impressive social media presence, constantly posting his fitness routines and workouts in addition to his wild nights out. This earned him a reputation off the pitch, and word of his escapades always seemed to make the gossip columns by the following morning.

Ethan was at the height of his career when he was expected to help lead England to victory in the World Cup, however with all newfound success he lost sight of the little boy who just wanted to make his family proud. It was the group stages. Ethan made a couple spectacular runs and even scored an equalizing goal, but it was a shitty call that defeated him, changing the course of play and costing his team the chance to move on in the tournament. He was blind with rage as the match came to a close, shouting and swearing at the referees, even taking a swing at one of them.

And just like that, Ethan was sent off, dropped from the national team, and lost several of his endorsements. He wasn’t given as much playing time with his club team and Oliver became absent in his life, unable to cope with his son’s failures. He began to spiral. Ethan took to drinking more often and sought comfort in meaningless hook-ups to fill a void.

At the request of his Public Relations team and before he could do any more damage to his image, Ethan’s career was put on a permanent hiatus. He was sent to the States for a much needed reset and sabbatical in order to help repair his tainted reputation. They settled on a quaint beach town in NJ far away from all the hustle and bustle of city life where most may not even know his name. His family owns a beach home there.

Now at twenty-nine, with only a handful of years left in his athletic career, Ethan is determined to rectify the past and prove himself as more than just a pretty boy with a bad temper. As they say, what doesn’t kill you only makes you stronger. And besides, everyone loves a comeback story right?

TRAITS;

CONFIDENT (+): Being born into practically football royalty, Ethan grew up always believing himself to be the best at everything and anything that was thrown his way. Because of his confidence, Ethan also developed quite a reputation as a flirt and possesses a special brand of pretty boy charm that he wields like armor.

ENERGETIC(+): Ethan is extremely active and has a lot of energy that he doesn’t always know what to do with. Whether it be working out, training, or staying up to the wee hours of the morning. At the same time, he’s the type to wake up at the crack of dawn to get in an early morning training session. He can often be found channeling all his pent up energy into sparring or boxing and of course, kicking around a ball wherever he can find space.

IMPULSIVE(-): Not having to worry much about consequences as a kid,  Ethan developed a nasty little habit of acting without thinking. He revels in all sorts of mischief and can be seen as a thrill seeker, living for the adrenaline that thrashes through his veins, for the heart stopping moments, and the rush of it all.

SHORT TEMPERED(-): Ethan was a natural athletic talent from birth. As his abilities continued to grow, so did his hot temper which became known for getting him into trouble on and off the pitch. He’s no stranger to an alcohol induced bawl and struggles to keep his temper under control especially when bested.

AESTHETIC;

HEADCANONS;

Despite the ever present confident air about him, Ethan is super generous especially when it comes to nights out and tipping. He is always happy to pick up the tab and doll out rounds of shots for him and his buddies at no charge. As selfish as he can be sometimes, he loves it when his friends are having a good time and is a firm believer in the more the merrier.

To help him keep his temper under control, Ethan got into boxing/mma. He likes to incorporate it into his workouts whenever he can. He does it mostly to scratch the fighting itch, but every now and again finds himself having to throw down.

For the most part, Ethan can’t really cook, but on the off chance he’s not sneaking out after a one night stand, he makes a killer breakfast, usually in his boxers.

He has a soft spot for astronomy and the stories behind the constellations. Growing up, he always found them fascinating and was the only one of his brothers who would actually sit and listen to his maternal grandfather babble on about them. Those were some of his most cherished memories, and he often celebrates his goals by blowing a kiss to the heavens to dedicate them to the ol’ man.

Whether he’ll admit or not, Moana is his absolute favorite Disney movie, and he will never say no to watching it. He thinks Maui is the shit and knows all of the words to “You’re Welcome” by heart. Beware, he will actually belt it out if asked.

Ethan's family used to summer in Cape May in the off season and the family owns a home in Cape May Point which is where he is currently staying.

WANTED CONNECTIONS;

manager; Ethan has been set to Cape May in order to clean up his image and lay low while the World Cup Disaster blows over, but lord knows he can't do it alone. This person keeps Ethan in check, tries to keep him out of trouble, and make sure he is seen doing and saying all the right things. note: I also plan to send this one to the main. 

unlikely friend; Though Ethan puts on this tough guy facade 98% of the time, he does have a few low-key nerdy (his words) hobbies. He took a great liking to astronomy and particularly loves the mythology aspect of it, all the wars and hero journeys. These two bonded over their love for the stars and myths and a friendship formed from there. If anyone wants to geek out with him let me know xD

workout partner(s); being a professional athlete means that Ethan is very into keeping in shape, even when he’s hungover xD This could go two ways:1.) These two bonded over their love of the gym and they pushed each other to bring out the most of one another. It could even be a bit of rivalry, too! 2.) Ethan took this person under their wing as a trainer of sorts and is helping them work out, keep healthy, and perhaps impress someone they have their eye on.

Ex;  Ethan isn’t really into the whole boyfriend/girlfriend thing but him and this girl hit it off and dated for a while when he was younger. He probably wasn’t the best boyfriend but he’s “grown up” a bit since then. I’m picturing it as a relationship from the past that he is somehow forced to revisit now. Perhaps a summer fling since his family used to summer there growing up.

here's a question, what do you think happens to Debbie (and Franny) post s11? Personally I'm not a fan of the idea that Debbie would go off with Heidi after she fought tooth and nail to stay in her own house, plus Heidi is...not really what I'd picture for a good ending to Debbie's story. What would you see being a good post script for Debs?

i mean, there's a part of me that wants to say that everything will go great for them, but i think that it'll be rough for a little while.

to answer the heidi thing (which i have talked about many times before but this ask is a little bit old lol sorry!), she will not last. she'll be gone in like, a week, and will never be heard from again. i think that the finale made that pretty clear, even though other people interpreted it in other ways. when heidi mentioned texas, debbie looked hesitant, and considering how she spent the past season fighting for this house, and the past eleven seasons fighting for her family, there isn't a single part of me that thinks she will be leaving for texas and if she does, her kid will be coming with her 100%.

but anyways, debbie will be going through it. she will have lost her father and her girlfriend in the same week or so and given her abandonment issues, i think she'll probably break. she'll have a whole breakdown over it, then be a bit depressed for a month or two, and then i think she'll slowly start to feel better. also, something that nobody talks about for some reason is the fact that post-11x12 all of the gallaghers (including mickey, tami, kevin, and veronica) all most likely get covid since they were all around frank and like touching him and shit, so that will probably happen.

i think that, as always, she'll pick herself up on her own and fix everything herself. her business will thrive, maybe she'll help out at the alibi if carl and tipping buy it (i hc that they do), but i think that money-wise she'll be set.

she and lip will definitely still have some conflict. every gallagher kid has a complex, difficult relationship with frank (i've actually been writing about this) but these two and frank have always stuck out to me (but they all stick out to me, honestly). i think that since the two of them were already fighting and are both notoriously awful at handling their emotions shit will go down.

debbie will keep the house since it's been in her name since the season nine finale (i mean duh, why would lip get to sell HER house??), lip, tami, and fred will move to milwaukee but then lip and tami will split up and it'll be messy, maybe he'll come back to chicago and they'll get split custody, carl will live there for another year or two, liam will live there until he graduates, and ian and mickey will move back to the south side. debbie will feel uneasy because of all of the change, so she'll insist on family dinners weekly, absolutely NO exceptions (you could be sick with some sort of flesh eating virus and she'd still demand that you attend).

she will never fully process losing frank. even dead, he still manages to fuck her over. i think that she'll set up a memorial for him a lot like the one she set up in 3x01.

if she reads the letter it'll fuck her up even more and i'm hoping that she gets therapy (i have a fic in my drafts about this lol) to help her deal with trauma, abandonment issues, grief, and help her navigate parenting while being only twenty.

i seriously just wish her the best because season eleven really made me realize how much she actually needs help.

The Volturi Gaurd as Gods

Aro: Coeus

Aro is the primary leader of the Volturi and has the power of tactile telepathy. Unlike his brothers, he does find humans more interesting, and not just as a source of food. He sees them as a source of entertainment. He reminds me of the god Coeus. Coeus was the titans of inquisitive minds and intellect. Both he and Aro are very curious creatures.

Caius: Anaideia

Caius is a ruthless leader, he’s extremely cynical and pessimistic. Aro was drawn to his ambition and need for vengeance. He posses no special ability of his own. Anaideia is the goddess of ruthlessness, shamelessness and unforgivingness. She was opposite the goddess of Mercy, which is why I think Caius and Athenodora work so well together.

Marcus: Eros

Marcus has the ability to view and understand relationships and bonds. He can use this ability to discover the mates of those in his coven, and those who wish to deja out his guidance. He is similar to Eros, the god of passion and fertility. Also the god who sees over marriages and bonds.

Sulpicia: Mnemosyne

Mnemosyne is the goddess of memory, and resides over the souls in the pool of hades. She helped people to forget their past lives after reincarnation. Sulpicia is Aro’s mate and has the power to read every thought someone has through touch. She isn’t mentioned much in either the books or the movies, but she gives off the kind and caring for damaged soul vibes that Mnemosyne has.

Athenodora: Ananke

Ananke is the personification of inevitability, compulsion and necessity. She is a primordial deity. She is the most powerful dictator of fate. Athenodora is mated to Caius, a cruel and ambivalent ruler. She used to rule by his side before he hid her away for her own safety. She helps to calm Caius and is the more rational side of his decision making.

Didyme: Euphorosyne

Didyme was Marcus’s mate. She was brutally murdered at the hands of Aro to prevent his brother from leaving the coven. She had the gift to bring joy and happiness to those around her. She reminds me of Euphorosyne, the goddess off cheer, joy and mirth. She was extremely beautiful and brought pleasant moments and tranquility to those around her.

Chelsea: Carna

Chelsea can influence the ties between people. She is a high ranking member in the guard. She’s the glue that holds the coven together and protects the queens. She reminds me of the goddess Carna, she brings strength to those in need. She is the protector of flesh and soul.

Jane: Algos

Jane has the opposite power of her twin. Instead of numbing the senses, she can cause immense pain. And she takes great pleasure in doing so. It’s one of the reasons the kings value her so much. Algos is the personification of physical and mental pain.

Alec: Shezmu

Shezmu is the Egyptian god of execution, slaughter and blood. He was a complex deity with qualities of both light and dark. This reminds me of Alec and his sensory deprivation skills. He uses them mostly to appease the blood lust of the kings, but sometimes can use them to give mercy upon victims. He could make you’re death less painful.

Felix: Deimos

Deimos is the personification of fear and terror. He more specifically represent the feeling you get right before battle. Felix is the primary executioner of the Volturi, you know when he’s coming you’re not going to live much longer. His sheer size alone strikes fear into many. That is why he has a high rank on guard.

Demetri: Ichnaea

Ichnaea is the tracker god. They were another personification deity who’s attributes were applied to many of the greater gods. Demetri is the volturi’s best tracker. He can hunt anyone from anywhere in the world and has the nose of a blood hound. He can track people by infiltrating their minds to see where they are.

Heidi: Venus

Heidi is the bringer of food and humans, she is in charge of luring victims into the place for the rest of the guard to feast on. She uses her good looks and charm to lure in hoards of people to their deaths. She is incredibly cunning and manipulative. She reminds me of the goddess Venus, often likened to that of Aphrodite. She was incredibly beautiful and dubbed one of the goddesses of love and lust.

Afton: Lelantus

Afton greatly reminds me of the Titan Lelantus! He was one of the youngest of all of the titans, and had the ability to move so fast he couldn’t be seen by mortal or gods eyes alike. He was incredibly gifted in stalking and hunting pretty, being able to sneak up on them. Acton posses the skill to appear invisible. The Volturi don’t see his gift as very useful, and the only reason he is on the guard is do you his mate Chelsea.

Santiago: Kratos

Santiago posses no special abilities, but Aro saw something in him and adopted him into the coven anyway. He’s usefulness falls in his superior strength and his incredible ability to strategise and think quickly. He reminds me of Kratos, the devine personification of strength. Kratos sits besides Zeus and is one of the highest Garuda amongst the gods. He is brilliant in all things war and fighting, and is an amazing protector.

Corin: Eleos

Eleos is the personification of clemency, mercy, compassion and pity. She is described as being the most useful to human life. She is the most empathetic of the gods. Corin was blessed with the power of contentment, and can easily bestow it upon others. Similar to Jasper’s emotional control, but her power is limited to the one feeling.

Renata: Averruncus

Averruncus is the god of averting harm. They have both the ability to heal, or cause mass distraction. Making them a god who must be propositioned in order to choose sides, they can be swayed either way. Renata is Aro’s personal body guard, and has the ability to repel opponents. This is similar to the way Averruncus protects some people for on harm, but at the same time can inflict it upon the people intending to cause harm.

Mele: Minerva

Mêle has the ability to absorb other special abilities. In life and death, she uses their ability to steal Aro’s power and kill him, becoming covert leader. She reminds me of Minerva, the goddess Of wisdom, strategy, law and victory. Minerva is one of the smartest goddess, and is known to be able to even fool other gods with ease.

AN: Yes I know some of the gods and their vampire counterparts don't match gender-wise. But I'm under the belief that gods transcend human gender so...

15. OCs or no OCs?

Definitely, definitely, definitely OCs! It seems like I'm constantly inventing more of them, and I must say I quite like my collection of personal blorbos. Imagine if I ever put them all in the same fic, eh? Maybe it wouldn't quite be the crossover event of the century, but it'd sure be something. Although I'm honestly not sure how I'd fit them all in: there's Miguel, Beth, Pips, Joyo, Jader, Angela, Theo, Kenji, Nick, Todd, Sophie, Heidi, Ash, Farida, Kenneth, Amir, Alina, fucking Darren, Giordana, Malcolm, Bradley, Tamia, Dan, Basil, Shuji, Dominik... and believe it or not, I think I forgot a few.

So, to get back to the question: yes to OCs! All of the OCs, evidently.

47. What fanfic of yours is truly underrated?

The phrase 'truly underrated' had me stuck on this for a bit, because... well, I'm honestly really happy with the reception of basically everything on my ao3. I've written on other platforms in the past, and in other fandoms, and the amount of comments and enthusiasm and just response in general has really varied. So comparing with some of my own past fanworks, I really feel like my current stuff is being appreciated and loved a whole bunch, and that’s a lovely thing.

But okay, the task here was to highlight something underrated. I answered something similar to this for a recent tag game, but I'm gonna go with different fic for this, because I'd love to highlight something that I absolutely adore and that did get a very nice response, but that isn't anywhere near the top of my personal ao3 stats: fuck around and find out.

This fic was months in the making. I wanted to get the pivotal conversation in it just right. For all of you who have vibed with my previous fics that have featured deep conversations about sex and intimacy and kinks (typical examples include Shameless and Talk Dirty To Me), this fic is definitely for you! It’s about Liam and Pez, which is a home-cooked ship that you'll love once you get to know them, and in this two part story they talk about sex, and what they want from each other in bed, and why and how they want those things, and there are some really soft and trusting moments between them as they open up to each other. Let me show you an excerpt:

“I’m maybe not the greatest at asking for things,” Liam finally admits.

It’s half a lie, half the truth; Liam has never been good at asking for the things he wants. Or at least, he’s always found it so much easier to ask for those things in reverse.

He hadn’t even been completely honest about all this stuff with Spencer. Not that sex with Spencer was ever bad; sex with Spencer was good. Really good. And once Liam had finally managed to bring a couple of his secret fantasies to the table — although not in the exact configuration he’d have preferred them — Spencer had been more than willing to try. They’d even picked out a few of the ropes together, placing their order from one of those discreet adult webshops and throwing in some flavored lube while they were at it.

Once they’d gotten down to it, and Liam had found himself with his hands tied to their headboard while Spencer hovered above him with an awestruck look on his face, all Liam had been able to think was: that must be quite a view.

Still, Liam had definitely enjoyed himself that night, and all the other nights when Spencer had retrieved the rope from their box under the bed. But never, not even once, had Liam worked up the courage to ask Spencer whether he’d be interested in switching places.

Spencer had never brought it up, either.

But that wasn’t why Liam had ended things with Spencer. There had been a million little things that had all pointed towards how the two of them didn’t really fit. Spencer had always needed more reassurance than Liam knew quite how to give. It didn’t seem to matter how many times Liam said it with his body, with lingering kisses and trailing fingertips and precise, practiced thrusts; what Spencer really needed was more words.

Liam has always been shit at words. But he’s very good at caring, truly and deeply, and for a long time he’d thought that could eventually be enough.

For Spencer, it wasn’t. But maybe, for someone else, it could be. And oh, if only someone would let Liam take care of them the way he only allows himself to imagine in the privacy of his own bedroom, with a steady hand wrapped around himself and his eyes squeezed tightly shut. If only someone would ask Liam for all the things he so desperately wants to give.

See, that's the vibe. That's what Liam struggles with in this one, and that's what Pez helps him to finally figure out and get right. I'm so fond of this story, and so completely thrilled for every person who loves it as much as I do. ♡

What are your thoughts on Heidi x Debbie? Just curious!

heidi was a character literally made to degrade debbie even more. especially with her introduction kinda being frank saying that debbie’s such a shitty person that the only person that could ever love her would be someone shittier. like, the writers REALLY tried to make us hate her in season 11 (after trying but failing to make fans like her in season 10), and i think that putting debbie with a girl like heidi is so clearly trying to make us shit on debbie, when in reality, we should be shitting on john wells because the decision to add heidi makes no sense with her character.

season 11 very much is a season that is pretty debbie-centric (as well as lip and gallavich-centric), the season not only had a lot of good debbie scenes, but it also expanded her character’s depth and showed how she really grew a lot. they shit on her a lot in that season, but there are so many episodes that are very good for debbie analysis (11x02, 11x03, 11x07, 11x08, 11x10, 11x11, 11x12) that explain her character very well. in season 11, debbie focuses on motherhood a lot. in 11x02 (which i’m making a full post about rn because i have a lot of thoughts on that episode) we see her trying to give franny the life she never had. in 11x07 and 11x08 she rants about wanting to better franny’s life and how she would never leave franny. overall, in season 11, the choices she makes are entirely based on giving franny a happy childhood, which is why she doesn’t want to move.

…so we learn all of this, we see her grow, we see her trying to give them a good life, and then she gets with heidi, a woman who will definitely leave her behind and who threatened to shoot her child in the head the first time they met each other.

and it’s not even like it’s ooc, debbie is very prone to self sabotage (we see this in pretty much every season following season 3, for example, her getting pregnant in season 6 and doing coke in season 11) and getting with a woman who she knows will hurt her even more makes sense. heidi invites debbie and franny (stop forgetting this! it was not an invitation for just debbie, so she would not just leave her kid behind, assholes) and debbie looks hesitant. she doesn’t want to go, and she also knows that this means heidi will leave her. but she stays with her, regardless, because debbie can be kind of a masochist.

here’s the reality of what will happen to debbie post-season 11 (as a self-proclaimed debbie expert): lip fails to sell the house so debbie, franny, carl, and liam keep living in it, debbie will attach to heidi, heidi will leave to texas without debbie and franny, debbie will be in a funk for a bit but will pick herself up, debbie does everything will thrive- the end! she wouldn’t leave to go to texas, she clearly didn’t want to especially after spending an entire season begging lip not to sell the house. she wants a life for she and franny in chicago, not texas.

in conclusion, heidi is toxic and dangerous and real debbie fans know that she was just another tool used for debbie slander. her character was unnecessary and they could’ve just not written debbie and sandy to have conflict because it would’ve made everything a lot better. i hope that debbie gets some therapy and in time, a good, stable, nice girlfriend who cares about both debbie and franny.
