Alright so my name is Amy. I’m almost 25 and stand about 5’5 even. I love to bake and cook and read or just watch child movies or cartoons. I love shopping and supporting my family and helping when I can wether it’s giving blood or helping a neighbor. I love to be goofy but I have serious moments because I am a super sensitive person. I love to just have fun and I’ve played sports especially volleyball.

Unfortunately, giving my family’s history, I have a Irish Temper and I’m quick to angry but I’m also overly emotional and will cry for no reason or over something trivial. Growing up with two loving parents and a slew of family close by, I’ve learned to become loyal to a fault. I’ll always have your back and support you as long as you do the same. Despite my ADHD I love to learn and read. I’m somewhat musically gifted and I have a passion for baking and cooking as it lets me explore from what I know. I almost shipped you with Carol because she’s so fun-loving but I kept leaning back towards Goose to the point where I was basically the mental human version of the Leaning Tower of Pisa.

Goose definitely has a thing for blonde-hair, green/hazel-eyed babes! He honestly thinks he doesn’t stand a chance with you. You’re so gorgeous and have all the curves in all the right places. Your golden curls and gorgeous hazel-coloured eyes that are shaped by your eyebrows. Literal picture perfect. Can he have your picture pinned in the cockpit?

You and her totally go shopping together and you chat about Goose non-stop.

This is fine by Goose because he doesn’t like going shopping. However, he does love it when you come home all excited to show him what you bought! Especially if it’s clothes. He’d want a runway session!

It must look a bit weird, you being on the curvier side and Goose being a literal stick figure (hurry and do some sugary baking. Fatten this man up at once!)

But he loves your curves. It’s a literal turn-on for him.

Guarantee, from an outsiders perspective who didn’t realise you two are a couple, he straight up looks like a fucking sleazebag checking you out from the aisle over. The cheesy moustache, Hawaiian shirt and holding a box of lego probably isn’t helping.

However, if you really want him to go shopping with you… lure him with the promise of ice-cream. “Can I get two scoops?” he’ll ask like a child, holding up two fingers, soft puppy-dog eyes glancing at you. How can you say no to him?

You WILL lose him in the store. But you can be guaranteed you’ll find him in the toy department looking at plane models.

Will he look at, holding a box of a model plane close to his chest and beg you? “Can we buy this? Please?” Yes. Yes he will.

Be careful though, he’ll definitely use this soft look against you to get what he wants! He’s just as cheeky as you are!

The fact you play volleyball makes up for all the times you’ve dragged him out to a spontaneous shopping spree. He loves volleyball and loves playing with you! It’s the best way to spend the summertime! A mixed round down at the beach of Girls Vs Boys and then mixed doubles (you and Goose, Mav and Carol [who aren’t dating but just friends]).

Followed by drinks at the bar.

Which leads into Goose at the piano. You by Goose’s side, loudly singing and Carol and Maverick joining in.

Goose is at his happiest during these times.

But you both have your serious moments.

Late evening talks. Sitting on the couch.

Goose is comfortable opening up about what’s on his mind. You both talk the problem out. If it doesn’t get sorted (perhaps because there’s no solution to what’s weighing on him) at least he came to you.

You both have such an open and honest relationship.

You never go to bed on an argument. You’re too soft for that and Goose doesn’t like seeing you breakdown.

No way is he going to let you fall asleep having cried your eyes out.

He’ll be the first to apologise. He has no issue with that. Even if he doesn’t know what he’s apologising for. He just doesn’t want to go to bed without saying ‘I love you’ and being able to hold you.

Goose is a huge family man. He’s always wanted a family of his own. So he’d definitely be there helping your family too. Whenever he can. He’s pretty absent most of the time but even after months of deployment that has him exhausted and tired, he’s still there helping your family.

Speaking of family, you both have such beautiful babies with cheeky personalities. They test the boundaries of what’s good behaviour, but they’re generally good kids. Always have a way of making everyone smile. So good luck figuring out which side they get that from!

He’s a very hands-on significant other. He’s always helping around the house without asking and trying to make things easier for you. Including following your ADHD trail of unfinished things which he finishes while you’ve started three other new things.

There’s more radio on in the house than the TV. It’s a very musical house.

Between Goose teaching the children piano or you just singing and humming away while you’re doing things around the house.

Goose’s favourite moments are watching you, particularly the first time you were pregnant, bopping a little in time with the song you were singing, while you were baking some cookies. You didn’t know he was watching.

Until he came in, dancing and singing, joining in the fun.

So there you two are, two parents-to-be, being silly and goofy in your own home.

But this is where Goose came in to do the dishes so you can sit down and relax.

He kept an eye on the baking because he knew you’d fall asleep on the couch. Pregnancy is tiring after all.

He loves it when you bake and cook. He cooks too! It’s not the stereotypical 50’s housewife scenario. Okay..admittedly it is. But that’s how things naturally fell into place. You do insist on baking and cooking because you enjoy it. But he does love it.

For some reason the house always smells better when you’re baking.

Luckily for Goose, he doesn’t need to worry about putting weight on because he regularly works out. Sometimes high intensity with Maverick. Other times, just a general workout with you. He loves it though. Gets to watch you work-out.

Remember when I said he looked like a total creep in the store?

Yeah…well…the gym too.

Also expect both Goose and Maverick to come to you to get their patches sewn on their jackets. Or to have it safely removed (guarantee they would’ve just pulled it off and made it worse).

You both frolicking at the beach in the summertime. I can see you both getting into snorkelling while on holiday. You both were kind of just ‘meh’ about it but once you did it, you loved it. Especially when Goose would randomly pick something up and point to it like a proud child of ‘look at this!’

But also keep an eye on him underwater too. He’s not the smartest to know what’s considered poisonous or dangerous. He just sees a cool-looking thing that looks like a plane and has to show you.

Skating dates. Or, rather… you’re off skating around the area while Goose is in a egotistical competitive match of Volleyball of him and Maverick Vs Iceman and Slider.

I know Ice-skating is different but you teaching him to skate on the Ice….

He never feels silly. He’s always up to trying everything and anything with you.

Like I said, you are both open with each other. About everything.

Goose is very calm…he shows this during all the times he could’ve torn a new one into Maverick but didn’t (instead, he calmly came to him and spoke to him about a problem) so your irish temper, whilst a thing to behold, is something Goose has learnt to navigate. He’ll either step back and leave you alone, or he’ll place a hand on your shoulder and use the safe word “Potatoes.”

Yes, you two have a safe word for your irish temper (sue me, it was funny in my head).

When you’re getting a little too angry, that little gesture and random word silently says ‘Calm down. Take a deep breath. Let’s work it out.’ …. Most especially if you’re in public. But there have been times when you’ve not listened so Goose is just “Potatoes! Think about the potatoes honey!”

Your over-sensitive heart is one of the things Goose has fallen for. It always makes him laugh a little when you cry over the silliest things (but he’s not laughing at you). He’s always there with a hug and a light “Awh honey.”

But your over-sensitive heart is one of the things Goose is extremely protective of. When Maverick gets too cocky and too risky in the air because, lets be real, he is slightly egotistical… Goose went to him that evening, once he made sure you were settled at home, and spoke to Maverick. He has you and a possible future family to think about.

Your hard-headedness is great because, as mentioned or likely hinted at, Goose needs to be reigned in with a few things (ie, buying toys he doesn’t need).

Now Goose is generally a placid being. But when he puts his foot down, you actually stop and listen. Because it’s not often he does this – and tends to do it when you’re being too hot-headed.

Also prepare to be annoyed with him throwing paper planes at you. Imagine you’re in the kitchen or just reading, minding your own business and you suddenly get jabbed by the nose of a paper airplane. You can’t be mad though because sometimes they’ll have a little love-note on them.

He would propose to you on the beach; which I see going 1 of 2 ways;

Either during the day where you were under the assumption that it was another beach volleyball so it didn’t bother you people were there. And he proposed to you in front of everyone.

Or he’d keep it just between the two of you and propose to you in the late evening when the sun was setting, the sky a soft pink, the water very gently lapping against the shoreline.

Do you know how hot you look if you were lounging on the bed, in lingerie or just sexy-looking pyjamas (that are specifically sexy but to Goose they are) and reading some sort of plane manual or something. You love to read and learn new things, and this was one of those things. Understanding Goose’s job… Except you look sexy doing it.

Picture this; you two at the beach…in the ocean…Your legs wrapped around his waist. Him holding you to him. The rest of the Top Gun guys have their attention on the volleyball match that’s going on at the shore.

Worships your body.

Takes his time. Peppers kisses anywhere he can reach.

One thing he always does is when he lines himself up at your entrance, you’re both gazing at each other and he wants to see your expression. Never gets tired of it.

Loves having your blonde curls splayed over the pillow.

But also loves watching them bounce up and down (amongst many other things) when you’re straddling on top of him.

The definition of sexy is what he’s seeing right before his eyes; his beautiful, blonde-haired, hazel-eyed woman with the perfect lips, the perfect curves…how he doesn’t fall apart immediately is beyond him.

He’s got his hands on your hips, bouncing you, but when you’re leaning down, one hand is definitely in the curls of your hair. Gently gripping as he angles your face to either kiss him or give him easier access to your neck.

The Scar- Calum Hood

A/N: another 5sos fic! Calum hood x y/n. Y/n’s gender is female for this fic, it just made it easier to write, my apologies to anyone it might upset, but you can always request. Feel free to correct any mistakes! there will be a part two!

When y/n was still a child she had always dreamed of becoming a celebrity, like every other kid. unlike the other children though, it seemed impossible to her. To y/n, she sounded horrible, not to mention the looks. y/n had always thought this way because there was never one person to tell her otherwise. It's not like anyone knew what she was struggling with to be fair. Years of practice and motivation from her parents, the only time they encouraged y/n, lead to y/n being the perfect actor in front of others. No one would notice the damage done to y/n because the walls built around her took a team of three to build and would most likely take an even bigger team to deconstruct. Or at least that's what she thought. Apparently all y/n needed was a wrecking ball.

Day after day y/n would wake early to sit in front of her mirror with a brush. She normally wasn’t the type to hate anything, other than her parents, because nothing could compare to the years of trauma her parents had stocked her up on. So when y/n said she hated her foundation brushes, she meant it.

Makeup used to be one of her favorite things, she used it as a pastime. When she was a young teen, she spent most of her time in her room trying as many looks as possible. It wasn’t like her to believe that you could only have one aesthetic, she would change her look up as many times as she wanted. Going from “emo” looks one day to “kawaii” looks the next. It only made sense that she would do the same with her makeup as well. Her parents didn’t seem to mind the looks. Whatever would cover up the bruises they gifted her seemed to be helping them in some twisted way. One day it all fell apart though. Everything her parents had built was destroyed. 

The process left y/n with a humongous scar on her face. The scar started right above her right eyebrow. If it had ended below the eyebrow, it would have just seemed like she wanted an eyebrow slit, she might have even been able to cover it easily with a brow pencil. If it had ended there, but it didn’t. It ended right above her jaw bone. It wasn’t straight either. Most scars can go away with time, but hers was too deep. It would never go away. It showed her and the world her past. She hated it. 

So, as much as she hated the foundation brushes she used every morning, she continued to use them. That hideous scar needed to be covered up. Especially with all the attention she was getting. Once news came out that two well liked members of y/n’s small hometown abused their child, people were furious. Many tried helping y/n. One of the teachers at school had convinced her to try out for the drama club. She received the leading role in Annie for the school’s play. News spread fast in the town and soon people had begun to call colleges and agencies to come watch her performance, all of which y/n had no clue they were doing.  One specific agency had agreed to work with her for free until she got off the ground. She almost rejected the opportunity. That was until her foster mother had informed her that her parents weren’t going to spend as much time in jail as they had hoped. Taking the opportunity had forced y/n to continue high school in Los Angeles. She was also set up with a new foster home. Throughout all of this, the scar was hidden. She didn’t want her chance to leave to be taken away. 

Years later and no one she surrounded herself with knew of her past, or even seen her scar. Not even the makeup artists she’s worked with. She always showed up a foundation on and since it was a perfect match to her color, the makeup artists let it slide and just continued to transform her into her characters.

y/n had in fact gotten off the ground, it was now a daily thing for her to be recognized. She even met some celebrities she grew up with.

There was one day though, soon after her 23rd birthday, that y/n had not put on foundation. She felt that she wouldn’t be recognizable without it, so she wanted to try it. She had woken up later than usual then dressed herself in shorts and a tee. She went on a run and low and behold, no one recognized her. She ended up at her usual cafe. Just like every morning, she walked up the cashier and ordered her usual. The cashier, Linda, a nice old lady, who had worked there every morning tried not to stare.  It was a weird experience for both of them. Linda could have sworn that y/n looked familiar, but she shrugged it off. y/n was holding back an expression of surprise, she thought that out of everyone Linda would have noticed her. Once she received her coffee, she went to leave. That is when she ran into her wrecking ball, not that she knew it. y/n had spilt her coffee all over the strange man she knew as Calum. She didn’t know much about Calum, she only knew his name from the few times she had heard his name being called for his coffee. She also knew that Cal was well aware of who she was, with makeup that is.

“Im so sorry!” y/n exclaimed. She might’ve still been in shock from the events that had happened so far into the day, but there was no way she could have missed the look she received from the man. It wasn’t one of disgust, but more of one of surprise. The look he had however, didn’t match hers. He wasn’t in surprise from the coffee he had spilt on him, but rather the girl in front of him. 

“It’s fine really.” Calum stated as kindly as possible. There was no way he could ever even think of being rude to a lady so beautiful. 

“It’s really not, I can pay for the shirt and for whatever you were gonna order.” she offers in a hurried tone even if she wasn’t in a rush. This is because she thought he was trying not to give her pity. 

“No need, I actually feel as if I should buy you another one-” he offers, “- it was my fault anyways, i'm so clumsy i’ve been in this situation before.” he lied. y/n was well aware of the lie. Most of the time she was here before him and left after him, she had not seen it happen. An argument be that he’s done it before she moved into the neighborhood, but that also wasn’t true because y/n had witnessed him and Roy struggling to carry a couch into their home while on her run. She had actually had a conversation with Roy and she probably could have become good friends with him if she had tried. 

“It's fine really” the words coming out of her mouth this time. Before they could interact anymore though, Linda had appeared to usher them both out of the way to clean the mess that was made. She had begun to lecture Calum, one of her favorite clients, on making a mess when y/n slipped out of the Cafe. she stuck her head back in though to apologize to one last time to both of them before running off. 

She had made it home and took a shower when there was a knock at the door. Realizing that her scar was uncovered, she tried to cower. 

“Y/n, it’s Roy! I...um brought cookies to celebrate your new movie! Oh and a friend.” That was the last thing she had expected to hear through her door. She knew the friend had to be Calum, she also knew she would have to explain herself to the men. Finally getting the courage, she opened the door. Before you could say anything Calum had begun to talk. 

“Hey, it’s you again. What are you doing here?” he asked. Suddenly feeling shy y/n lowered her head. 

“Are you ok?” Calum pressed. Looking up again she can see both the boys now wearing concerned faces.

“Y/n?” Roy questioned. Gulping, y/n decided to just rip the bandage off.

“Yep, that's me. Nice to see you Roy.” slightly shaking she opens the door wider as if to invite them in. Roy understood what she meant and walked in, his expression now gone and replaced with his original smile, Calum on the other hand still wore his as he followed his friend in. She led the men into her living room.

“Sorry for the mess.” she states. Calum and Roy looked around to see what she was talking about. Cal’s brows frowning more. There was no mess. To them anyways, to y/n her only thought was that her parents would murder her for having friends over without vacuuming and tidying every corner of the house. They sat down and y/n left to go get them drinks. While in the kitchen she could hear them whispering about her. Wiping any look of sadness from her face, she picked up the drinks and headed back into the living room. Handing them their drinks, she places coasters onto the table for them. They have a light conversation, them being Roy and y/n. Cal was too busy staring at her. He was confused, how could he have not realized. How come he didn’t know that the beauty of both women was actually the beauty of one. Finally giving into the stares y/n sighs.

“I know you’re probably confused about the...um you know-” she says, gesturing to her face, “i just didn’t want anyone to find out about it yet. There’s not really any good memories that came with it. You understand right?” 

“Of course!” Roy claims, nodding his head then nudging his friend, who also nodded but not nearly as harsh as Roy had done. 

“We won’t say anything if that's what you’re asking” Calum states, he could see that them agreeing with her hadn’t reassured her enough. She smiles gently at him as Roy agrees again.  The conversation had now been a lot more free. All three of them were involved now. The conversation drifted to her movie and their music at points. y/n felt bad as she had genuinely gotten a liking to them, Calum in particular. She wanted to talk to them again, but her past was coming to haunt her, she couldn’t. The cookies were amazing, store bought, but amazing. They trio all slowly coming quiet, they had spent hours together chatting. It was now 4 in the afternoon. It seemed as neither man wanted to leave. It had been a while since they had made a new friend. Calum excused himself to the bathroom, leaving y/n and Roy. she tried her best to hint that it may be time for them to leave without seeming rude. Roy helped her bring the cups and trash into the kitchen. He watched as she cleaned each cup multiple times. To him it must have seemed as if she were nervous because she was being watched. To her though, each mug needed to be perfectly spotless or something bad would happen. It was rooted into her mind. If you dug deep enough into it, you would see y/n’s memories of being yelled at and having dishes and pots thrown at her for not having the house perfectly cleaned. Calum, finally out of the bathroom, joined Roy. together they watched the woman dry her hands before turning towards them. Before she could get a word out, Roy suggested that they should get going. Cal’s eyes couldn’t have missed her smile quickly dropping before resuming back to its original place. y/n nods before leading the kind men back to her front door. Roy leaning slightly to give her a hug and saying a quick bye, she responded as she knew how. 

“Goodbye.” It was a simple statement really, but she was taught to never try to stay in touch with people outside of necessity. Though she did give him another kind smile, one that shows her teeth in just the slightest way. Now facing Cal who, unlike his friend, was staring at the floor. Roy, waiting for him at the gate, tries his hardest not to watch their interaction. From his point of view, he can see them talking before y/n goes completely still. y/n was in shock, she had never been in this situation before. She didn’t know how to respond. Cal had asked for her number. She didn’t have anyone who wasn’t work related on her phone, should she let herself add a contact for Cal? She didn’t know the answer, she stayed still, evening out her breathing while she felt two different sets of eyes on her. Still as stiff as humanly possible, she smiles and hands her, now open, phone to Calum. He grins so softly that y/n missed it, he handed her his unlocked phone as well. He creates a contact in her phone with all his information before snapping a quick photo of himself. He listed himself as “cute neighbor”, which is quite bold seeing as he had no idea if y/n liked him, and pressed save. On Calum’s phone, y’n had simply only typed her phone number and listed herself as “y/n”. Before she could press save, Calum handed her phone back to her, she looked at the contact and her lips lifted. She turned off her phone and put it in her pocket. She looked back to Calum’s phone and changed her name to “scar girl” before saving the contact and passing the phone back to him. Unfortunately for her, Calum didn’t look at the contact and just shut off the phone. Which might have been better if she thought about it. She didn’t want to see Calum’s reaction to the name, she just hoped it was positive. As they looked into each others eyes, a blush formed onto their cheeks. y/n whispered a silent goodbye before walking back into her home and softly closing the door.

B I O G R A P H Y

Flossie was born in Streatham, London. Her father being a business owner, she lived quite well with holidays every year, and joining every club in school. She was extremely sporty and a tom boy at heart being raised with three older brothers.  At 13, her mother was diagnosed with Muscular Dysthrophy. In a year her mother fell apart infront of her eyes. Her father falling into a deep depression, and her brothers and herself having to care for both of them. She had witnessed a love story with her parents and this horrible disease ripping them apart.

Her mother died when she was 14. The Hawkin’s family determined to get back to normal, started fundraising for charities that helped families & people diagnosed with the disease, and happiness started coming back into their lives again. She is still not over her mothers death though and is still completely scarred from it.

After her A-levels, she studied a PCGE at Kings College and started working at London Schools as a teacher–Bright, bubbly, confident and passionate about children, this was the perfect job for Florence.

Pen Pals

Part 2

Summary: Y/N and Nikki have known Each other forever but haven’t seen each other since they where 12 years old. But that’s all gonna change.

Note: I should probably do a disclaimer for bad grammar, spelling mistakes. Don’t @ me I’m Dyslexic and im just having fun!

In just 2 days you would be sitting on an air plane and flying to go see Nikki. You are scared shitless but its time to put on your big girl panties and face this shit head on. Right now you are sitting on your bedroom floor trying to pack. You are trying to figure out what to bring wit you. Nikki had written back and said they would be auditioning the guitarist from the ad when you where in town and probably a few singers as well. But you still decided to bring extra club cloths so you would be ready to celebrate you 23rd birthday.

In your bag you have a few pairs of shorts some black skinny jeans both ripped and non ripped. A denim jacket couple band shirts you have lying around because they are kickass and you can sleep in them as well. You finish packing and sit on your suitcase to try and close it just as the phone rings.

“Hello!” You cheerily say into the receiver.

“Hey Y/N” it was Nikki. “You still coming in 2 days or have you chicken out on me?”

“I am not a chicken. I’ll be on the plane at the ungodly hour of 4 am so you better be at the airport for 8 when I land in LA” you reply.

“Yes, ma’am I was just calling to check when I have to pick you up. Oh and in the afternoon the Guitarist Mick is gonna come by so you can listen to us play a bit. Plus you will get to meet Tommy and maybe help us find a singer as well!”

You settle onto you bed knowing this will be a longer conversation. Since moving out of your parents house you and Nikki don’t write nearly as much as you used to but have turned to long phone calls ones a month and letters in-between to keep each other in the loop.

“Okay I can’t wait to hear how this guy sounds and what he looks like. The ad made me so interested I can’t wait! Does Tommy know im coming?” you ask.

“Yes, Y/N Tommy knows you will be spending 2 weeks at my place. He’s just a kid so he is living with his parents. Over the last 3 days he’s been trying to persuade me to let him move into the spare room in my apartment.”

“If it helps the band and he’s still going to school why not?”

“I don’t want his parents to hate me that all.” Nikki laughed.

“From my experience parents are not your strong suit Nikki.”

“Oh you don’t have to remind me,” he laughs.

The two of you talk for at least an hour about what you wanna do for your birthday, what you think of the lyrics Nikki sent to you. The  conversation kept circling back to your birthday.

“Y/N you are turning 23 we have to celebrate that’s basically the whole reason you are coming to visit. We have to go huge! I know a couple of clubs we can check out, maybe bring Tommy along and then we can get some pizza, watch a creepy movie at my place after when we are super drunk and can’t remember anything.” Nikki says trying to convince you even though you are already on board.

“Nikki what are you doing? I’m flying all the way to LA I wanna have the true rockstar experience.”

You both laugh and you finally decide to end the conversation so you could go to sleep. “Hey Nik it’s getting kinda late here and I gotta work tomorrow,” you tell him while yawning.

“Ooh that’s something we need to talk about when you come visit, this mysterious job of yours.” ‘Oh crap you think’ “Well any ways good night see you in less then 48 hours!”

“Good night Nikki, don’t forget 8 am at the airport.”

“Yeah Yeah” he complains while you laugh “Okay I’m hanging up now” you tell him with no response from Nikki you hang up the phone, almost immediately you fell asleep.

Less then 48 hours later you where sitting in your window set waiting for the plane to take off and take you to LA. After the flight attendant did their safety dance you settled down with you book and got all comfy for the next 3 hours you would be sitting there. The book you decide to bring was actually an impulse buy in the airport Stephen Kings Cujo. It wasn’t to bad and it helped pass the time. Before you knew it the captain came on over the speaker telling you that you where arriving in LA and would be landing in 10 minutes. So you put you book away and took a deep breath. This was it you would be meeting you childhood best friend. When the plane landed you took your time getting off letting almost everyone exit before you even reach for you carry on. That’s when the flight attendant walks over to you.

“Hello ma’am do you need any help?” She was probably wondering why you had been wait to get of the plane most people try and get off of flights as soon as possible.

“Nope I’m just taking my time so my friend has some extra time to get here.”

“Okay have a great visit!”

You smile to her as you get your backpack and purse and head through the airport. The LAX was a lot bigger then the airport back home and before you knew it you where lost. “Typical” you think to yourself looking around for a security guard or someone who worked at the Air Port to give you directions. Finally after what felt like an hour but was more like 20 minutes you had all of your luggage and was looking for Nikki. Thats when you spot the tall dark haired buy who was in black tight jeans and a Harley Davidson long sleeve shirt. Just then his eyes meet yours, Nikki waves and starts making his way over to you. This is it theres no turning back now you think to yourself.

biography: james was born in the heart of dublin, ireland, to a young woman on the brink of poverty. she attempted to care for james to the best of her ability, but found that she simply couldn’t afford the expenses of a child and knew, in her heart of hearts, that he would be much better off with people who could love and care for him properly. so it came to be that james was dropped off at a local orphanage with little more than a small picture of his mother holding him and his name scrawled across the back along with his birth date. james came to be cared for by the elderly nuns and caretakers who ran the organization. eventually, he was fostered out and adopted by an elderly couple who had never been able to conceive a child of their own. 

conan and biddy doherty were gentle and kind, though they led the simple lives of two common people just above the poverty line. james grew up poor, but not without love in his home; he grew to care for conan and biddy the way he would pseudo-parents, though he often wondered about the woman who had left her picture in his swaddling and the life she must have led before giving him up.

by the time james was fifteen years old, conan and biddy had reached years of frailty. conan had already been in an assisted living institution for a couple of years when biddy ended up catching a bad bout of pneumonia when she’d gone out to the store to collect materials to make james a surprise boysenberry pie for his birthday. biddy passed not long after in the hospital, and with conan in a retirement home and unable to care for himself, james became the problem of the republic of ireland once more. by this time, james began to act out; he was unhappy with his life, upset that the closest thing to parents he’d ever known were both gone, and frustrated that he was stuck in a position where he was too old to be adopted but too young to be out on his own.

james took to fighting; street fighting, cage fighting, whatever he could get his hands on. he’d never particularly cared about school or university, and with the spiraling of his life after biddy’s death, he felt he had nowhere and nothing to turn to. he channeled his energy and anger out in the ring; he became skilled, but self-destructive. his face became peppered with scars, and one night, when he pissed off a small gang by beating their champion, he had his life threatened at the hands of local gangsters. a knife to the face, and james quickly became adorned with a scar that cut across his left eyebrow and down across his eye and cheek. his vision and eyes survived the abuse, but the scar remains, even to this day.

after conan passed away in the nursing home just shy of james’ nineteenth birthday, he tried to seek out his birth mother--but the orphanage could give him no insight into her whereabouts. they knew as little of her as he did, though one of them had heard rumors that she might have married and headed to america. so james gathered his belongings and set sail for north america, to the states and their loud and boisterous energy. he didn’t find his mother after landing in new york city, but he did find something that changed his life forever: howard golightly. 

howard golightly was a wealthy businessman who became moved by james’ story of trying to locate his birth mother, due to the young child he had recently fostered for himself. a young girl named bunny who was in desperate need of someone to care for and look after her in ways that her adoptive parents simply wouldn’t be able to. so james, with his experience in fighting and defense, soon became the personal bodyguard to the golightly heiress: bunny golightly. he has been a constant in her life since childhood, and the two have grown increasingly inseparable as she’s grown up.

now, as the heiress reaches nineteen years old, james fears that bunny won’t need him much longer. she’ll always need a bodyguard and security, but she’s an adult now; she’s grown up into her own, an elegant, kind, and thoughtful young woman, and james...has no idea where that leaves him in her life.

Im gonna post my WIP of my Arcana OC

Hope y’all like her. I’ve been working really hard. I’m taking a break from working on her to work on some other Arcana ocs I plan on making so look out for those! 

Legal Name - The Viscountess Sofiya Alexandrine Castessier Of Vesuvia 

Any Nicknames - 

Sof - A nickname given to her by her brother. Just a shortened version of Sofiya. Count Lucio once overheard her brother calling her this nickname and adopted it as well. Even after her brother's death, he continued to use it. It didn't bother her, however, as it brought up happy memories of her brother upon hearing it. Allows her friends to use it. 

Sofi - Just a shortened version of Sofiya. Her friends typically use this if they don't use "Sof." Doesn't bother her. 

FiFi - Count Lucio calls her this on occasion. Why? Just to annoy her. It's what he does. She doesn't like it. It sounds like the name of someone's pet dog. She's not a dog, Lucio. Please stop. 

"Ma petit choupette" - A French term of endearment directly translating to "my little cabbage"?? But it's English equivalent is something akin to "Pumpkin." The only place where this nickname is confirmed is in letters and notes from her father to her. She keeps these letters in a jewelry box under her bed. They're some of her most prized possessions.

Became the Viscount of Vesuvia after their father's death. Was quite close to Lucio despite being a nicer person. He would often attend Lucio's extravagant parties, dragging Sofiya along to try and help find her a proper suitor. 10/10 wing man. Passed away before Lucio's death. Had contracted the plague around the same time as the Count, however he was not as lucky to last as long. Did not have the constant care the Count had. Passed the title of Viscount to his sister as he was never married and had no children.

She's pale. Many people have joked about her being a secret vampire. She doesn't really tan either. Rather - she burns, peels, and is still pale. Doesn't really get freckles either. 

She has one scar on her face that cuts down across her right eye. This scar was recieved from a childhood accident, causing her to be blind in her right eye. The blindness affects her in that she gets headaches due to the difference between both her eyes. Will sometimes be seen wearing a silk eyepatch if she gets a headache. She will also wear the eyepatch if it's a formal event - she doesn't like having a visible scar in formal situations (especially if she's in a pretty dress, she thinks it ruins her look.) 

Hair - 

Sofiya's hair is rather long, reaching down to her lower back. It's wavy in texture and blue-black in color. She typically wears it up and in a hairstyle that can be best described as a smaller "gibson girl" hairstyle - paired with smaller ringlet curls framing her face. She rarely wears her hair down unless she is just lounging around the house. Her linage has seen loose hair as a very intimate thing, which is a common sentiment among women in the past. 

When her hair is down, it's either about to get saucy or she's going to bed/just got out of bed. 

Eyes - 

Her eyes are reddish-brown in color with the right eye being more "fogged" and glassy due to the injury causing her partial blindness. The best way to describe her eyes is "doe-like." They are more round in shape which is a trait carried over from her mother's side. Her brother did not have this feature as well, which made her appear to be the "young fragile sister" trope to a T - yet we know this is not what she was. 

Height - 5'3''

Body type - A curvier form, waist having been corset trained since she was in her early teens - as was the norm for her French heritage. Her father had people hired to assist in her corsetry due to the complications self-corsetry can cause. She has them to thank for her spine not being absolutely destroyed. She can in fact go without a corset. Her bust is not exceptionally large, it's slightly above average at best. (Not ur big tiddy goth gf) She has a booty. It's not a big booty, but there's something there for sure. 

Dislikes - Plague

Romance? - Probably Lucio, but I'm not happy about it. (I also really like the idea of her and Julian. I think it would be a cute dynamic idk she’s multiship do with her what you will) 

What do they smell like? 

Being of a noble family, she owns quite expensive perfumes - some gifts, some purchases. However, despite this, she gravitates toward using essential oils for their scents. Due to her blindness in her right eye, she gets migraines from time to time so to combat them, she uses lemongrass oil as a remedy, which is what she will often smell of. 

What are their four trinkets? 

Her father's nobility medal, an embroidered silk handkerchief that her brother gave to her as a birthday gift, old letters with a monogram wax seal with the initials "J.C." and a silk eyepatch. 

What kind of magic are they good at? 

Despite having a strong aura, she's not that in-tune with magic. Almost as bad as Dr. Devorak when it comes to it.

What were they like as a child?

She was rather quiet as a child, most vibrant when in her brother's company. Since her brother was older than her, she looked up to him for guidance or for comfort when she needed it. As she grew older, she became more independent, but she still came to her brother for guidance in important situations. 

What were their parents like? 

She never knew her mother, but from what she has been told, she is a lot like her. Her father, however, was a very caring one. Toward his children, he was a kind and loving individual. To everyone else, he was of nobility. Due to his status - having gained it through Lucio's predecessor - he was kind, yet guarded. One has to be guarded when they are of noble status (except Lucio apparently), especially when the new Count (Lucio) had no concern about the state of his citizens and lower districts. Being under Lucio, her father bore the repercussions of Lucio's poor decisions. Wasn't under Lucio for long as he passed away soon after Lucio became Count. 

Do they have any other relatives they are close with? 

Her brother is the only one she was close to. She never knew her other relatives. 

What are they afraid of?

Being truly alone. The return of the plague (how ironic). Storms. 

Mental health issues?

Other than the occasional sadness accompanying grief and mouring, which is perfectly normal, she has no diagnosed mental health issues. 

Favorite type of weather? 

Clear and crisp. Prefers chillier temperatures. 

What is their favorite season? 

Autumn.

How many languages do they currently speak? 

2 fluently, 2 conversationally. 4 total. 

Do they sing or play any instruments? 

She is classically trained vocally and can play the piano and harpsichord.

After a stressful day how do they relax? 

You will typically find her sitting in the garden of the estate enjoying the fresh air. If it happens to be storming, she will be sitting at her piano busy drowning out the sounds of the storm with music. 

Guilty pleasures?

She enjoys sneaking around off to taverns around Vesuvia. It isn't very ladylike to partake in drinking anything but the occasional champagne or wine, but she will have stronger elixirs on these secret solo pub crawls. Favors whiskeys, spiced rum, cider, or sometimes absinthe. (Mulled wine is also really good in the winter ;D) 

Hobbies? 

Anything musical, light gardening (tending to pre-gardened flowers is more accurate), attending palace events (masquerades, dinners, etc.), people watching/observation. 

How do they react to (both verbal and physical) conflict? 

Sofiya responds to verbal conflict with diplomacy. She attempts to solve the conflict with as little shouting as possible. Physical conflict, however, can result in her trying to fight for herself and getting injured (this has occured in the past). She had a brother, physical conflict occurs between siblings sometimes, what do you expect? 

What kind of character faults do they have? 

JEALOUS, can be secretive about how she feels, tends to hold grudges and can attempt to "get even" more often than not, can be overly submissive personality-wise around overly dominant personalities.

What's their best trait in their opinion?

Her intuition! She can often read a room well, which helps her socialize with other Vesuvian nobility (and other noble people) and pretty much everyone she's around. 

How do they interact with people in a position of authority? 

Having been taught proper etiquette, she knows exactly how to behave around the Count, Courtiers, and other Vesuvian nobility. Being a noble herself (she IS the position of authority), she doesn't always HAVE to be respectful, however she definitely tries to be. 

How do they interact with kids? 

She ADORES children. She'll show off her finery and tell stories of her journeys and other noble people she has met in her past (although they may/will be embellished for entertainment purposes). Will DEFINITELY play dress up. 

What do they think the meaning of life is? 

To be truly happy. 

What do they want to do before they die? 

She would love to see Vesuvia restored to it's former glory. 

How do they express affection? 

When she is following proper etiquette, it is quite reserved. However, as a passionate (and jealous) person, she craves open displays of affection. She finds it validating. 

Do they like spicy food?  

No, she has the taste buds of someone who has been locked in a closet for centuries with only saltine crackers to eat. Good thing she's rich because rich people don't have taste buds. (Rich people food sucks? bye) (She prefers savory foods.) 

Favorite fruit or vegetable? 

Pomegranates.

Do they like sweets? 

She loves sweets!! 

What food would they refuse to eat? 

Caviar? Squid? Yikes gross with a capital G. How to rich people do it? Eck. 

Is there anything they eat that most people would find unappealing? 

Brussels sprouts? Turnips? Things like that? Had a Russian mother. Good girl. Eat vegetable. 

When going on the road, what food could they not live without?

What meal gives they a sense of nostalgia? 

Gratin de pommes a la dauphinoise (basically au gratin poratoes.) Her father wasn't one to cook often as they had a small kitchen staff in their estate to do it for them. However, once in a while he would make gratin dauphinois as it was his children's favorite dish. It would be a side to whatever the kitchen staff decided to pair with it. Nobody has been able to make it for her the same way her father did. 

Someone just threatened them what do they do? 

Threaten them right back. Or alert the proper authorities, but usually the former over the latter. 

What's the worst thing someone has said to them? 

There have been countless times where Lucio has said some offhanded comment to her (as that's just how he is), but the worst had to have been after her brother died of the plague. He told her that she shouldn't be grieving for so long and that "crying over it wasn't going to bring him back." Surprisingly that was the first and only time she has ever punched Lucio in the face. He deserved it. (also may or may not have apologised he won’t admit it) 

What is the strangest thing they've ever come across? 

Being sheltered by nobility, the strangest things are seen when she sneaks away from the estate. The streets of Vesuvia hold some bizarre characters at night. The people in the taverns are also quite strange. 

What/who do they find disgusting? 

Not exactly the people themselves, but the actions and behaviors of some of Lucio's Courtiers and Lucio himself are disgusting in her opinion. She was raised to believe nobility should have dignity or at the very least, basic manners. She is civil with most and friends with some, however she wishes they were more well-behaved. 

What upsets them the most? 

The state of Vesuvia's lower districts. The potential return of the plague - rumored by the reappearance of the red beetles. 

What mythological figure would they be? 

Erato or Euterpe. Both being one of the nine Greek muses. Erato is the muse of love poetry and Euterpe is the muse of music.

My car is a 1994 Lexus ES300 with 125,000+ miles on it. I would say it is in good or fair condition, the leather seats are cracking badly and it has a few scrathes, etc. I'm just wandering if it is in my best interest to repair this car or for it to be totaled out. On 7/24 I was at a Dairy Queen drive thru the person behind me hit the truck I was driving. I was looking at her in the rear view mirror the entire time. She had a cigarette hanging from her mouth that was unlit and she eventually backed up after hitting me. I got out of the truck and looked and I did not see any damage. She then said I didn't move you hit me I then told her No I did not hit you I am in front of you and this truck was never in reverse. Since there was no damage to the truck I did not bother getting any of her information since it was not my fault. On 7/27 I got a call from the police saying she told them I hit her. I gave them my side of the story and they said she had a witness who was a passenger in her car and they will be in touch. I also let them know I had a witness as well. The cop called me back yesterday and wanted to get my insurance information so her and I could exchange information. My question is do I have to give my insurance information to this cop? I did not hit this woman and I think she is trying to get one over on the insurance company. The cop said yesterday I'm surprised the truck does not have any damage because her car does have damage. This truck was a rental truck which was inspected at the time it was dropped back off at the rental company obviously there was no damage to it. This woman looked like she was on something to begin with and I'm guessing she was not paying attention probably looking for a lighter and let off the break and hit me. In 2005, as part of our divorce agreement, my ex and I decided to keep the same auto insurance but under separate policies. We had been with this company for years. He said for the past 6 months, each time he went in to make a payment, the girl HIS was already paid. Realizing what had happened. They were applying my payments to his automobile. I was furious. I notified the agent who initially did not want to accept blame, but since the payments were automatic and my account number was on each payment they took, they were responsible. The error was compounded by the fact that the cancellation notice went to HIS address (how dumb was that!) So I had no way of knowing that I was cancelled. I was without a car for 2 weeks and lost my job. After much haggling and many sleepless nights of wondering what to do without a job or a car, the insurance company finally admitted blame, paid the impound fees of $1,250.00. The agent also said they would handle the 2 tickets totaling 1K. FAST FORWARD TO 2010 in my state, the county did a scofflaw sweep and I was summoned to court with over 5 thousand other delinquent drivers to address unpaid tickets. The order was come to court by April 30th or be arrested. Realizing this had to be a mistake, but fearful of the law, I stood in line for over 5 hours in blazing heat, then sat in court another 5 hours waiting for my day in court. I was immediately threatened with arrest because the 2 tickets were not paid. Up to that moment, I had no idea the insurance company had not paid the 2 tickets. This time, not only was my insurance and registration cancelled, my license was suspended due to the age of the infraction (5 years). In front of the judge, I called the agents' office only to be told by the secretary that they had no intention to pay the ticket. Paying to get the car out of impound was enough. When the judge heard this she was shocked and let me off with a promise to pay in 5 days. She made me promise not to drive. With no way to get home but drive, I took a chance, and was pulled over. The officer informed me that due to the vast number of outstanding cases, tags bearing our county name would be targeted for a while (talk about a police state!). I showed him my documents from the court and headed home. This is a nightmare. Would I have a case if I filed suit against my insurance company for failing in their fiduciary responsibility to a 16 year client in good standing? By the way this company is one of the largest in the country.""

Hi we've been with USAA for over 10 yrs now for our Auto/Recreation insurance company. This month on our bill i noticed our rates went up by 35+ dollars per month. I called and they said nothing has changed in our policy. They told us because the dates our policy renewed we have an extra bill in this cycle. So they had to charge us more so we wouldn't have to pay 2 bills in 1 month. I am so confused it seems like were making an extra payment for nothing. We Pay every month on time , so I'm not sure why we have to pay an extra payment to avoid a double billing.
