Blizzard Lead Dev: "I just don't get it. People don't like our games anymore. We have over 45 gay NPC couples in Dragonflight, we have lesbians ride off into the sunset awkwardly in Diablo 4 and even Lorath finds it awkward when it happens, we have vitiligo options, we have multiple gay and multiracial characters in Overwatch 2, we changed the names of male and female to body type 1 and body type 2, turned all the sexy paintings into fruits, added green hair to humans, made the Night Elf heritage armor kind of not sexy, put a transgender dragon in the game, what the fuck do people want from us?"
Blizzard Forum Dev: "Well, I've been looking at the forums. Players want tails on worgens and-"
Blizzard Lead Dev: "I've GOT IT! Let's make a follow-up to that quest where the two centaur dudes want to get married, let's make the player prepare their wedding and they do this gay little talking-at-the-same-time and giggling moment, the gays do that stuff right? At least 4 people will find it cute!"
Blizzard Forum Dev: "Sir, it really seems like all of this pandering might be just a thinly veiled attempt to make people forget about that unfathomably disgusting sexual harassment lawsuit by catering to the loudest people on social media in hopes they'll start loudly advertising how PC we've become and we'll somehow rebuild our dwindling fanbase from new players who are suddenly creating accounts just to watch gay dragons talk about how much they love their mate. I think instead of trying to pander to people who hate our game and our company and always have and always will, perhaps a better option is to cater to the dwindling player base we have left, and to the people who left because of these stupid-ass politically correct things we keep doing. We can't just make people forget what our company did by pretending we're good people. What we CAN do is listen to our players. They don't want more gay NPCs in WoW, they don't want frumpy unattractive characters in Diablo 4 like forced fat druids, they don't want the Amazon's butt to be covered up in Diablo 2 Resurrection, they don't want Overwatch 2 to emphasize the importance of a character being gay or autistic above any semblance of personality or relevance to the story they might have. What they want is what they loved for the last 20 years. They want the company they grew up with back. The company that made Alexstrasza, Kerrigan, Whitemane, Sylvanas, the Eredar Twins, Mercy, Widowmaker, Tracer. Not the company that made a Thai femboy and made the crafting tutorial NPCs in Dragonflight absolutely offensively and objectifyingly flamboyant gay guys."
Blizzard Lead Dev: "You're... you're right... ... You're right, man. I dunno what I was thinking. You're right. People want the old Blizzard back."
Blizzard Forum Dev: "That's the spirit, man! We can turn this around, it's not too late. We can bring back the game that every really hot girl at every Blizzcon loved making skimpy cosplays for!"
Blizzard Lead Dev: "Orisa is transgender now"
Blizzard Forum Dev: "God fucking dammit sir"

WoW Night Elf Heritage Armor uncovered in patch 10.1.7 PTR
Tumblr media
Night Elf in World of Warcraft. Since the release of WoW Dragonflight, Heritage Armour has been a hot topic. Now it appears that one of the most cherished World of Warcraft races will soon receive its recognisable visual appearance. As we all know, having a good sense of style is essential in any MMORPG, and World of Warcraft is no different. Therefore, start organising your wardrobe right away. Blizzard revealed on July 13 that new Heritage Armor questlines are coming for the Fury Incarnate update, with the Forsaken and Night Elf sets on the table. However, the blog post only showed off the former set, leading many to question why the Night Elf look was being held back. WoW community manager Danielle ‘Nethaera’ Vanderlip explains on the World of Warcraft forums, “Sometimes a set isn’t in a state that we can capture and show it right away. We will when we can, though.” Of course, that hasn’t stemmed players’ curiosity – even if the set isn’t complete or all the pieces aren’t finished, we can’t help but wonder what it might look like. Fortunately, we’ve now been given a glimpse, courtesy of Wowhead. The team has datamined a set that it describes as “very early and definitely incomplete,” so do keep that in mind before you look at it – many of these details may be changed, and there may be additional parts added before the set is final, especially given Blizzard’s reluctance to show it officially. Currently, the set can be seen in two colors, red and blue, with purple-feathered shoulders also having been uncovered for the red set. It looks to be largely the same for both male and female Night Elves, boasting some rather sharp points that I’d personally be a little wary of wearing so close to otherwise-exposed skin. I guess Night Elves are just built different. If nothing else, these images from Wowhead will at least be reassuring for Night Elf players who have been agonizing over what the general look of the set might be. Of course, there’s a chance it could be more dramatically redesigned, but it seems likely – it’s actually rather reminiscent of the Night Elf battle armor seen in Battle For Azeroth, though I’d dare say it’s a little more practical than that look. Keep eyes on our WoW Dragonflight tier list to see what’s looking strongest in the WoW 10.1.5 Fractures in Time update, and make sure you’re using the best WoW addons to make the most of your time in the Dragon Isles. Gilneans/Worgen were robbed
Can we talk about how BfA did Gilneans dirty? Coming into BfA Blizzard was like:
1) You lost your home once already? Weeelllll.. how about you lose your second home in Teldrassil. LOL good luck living in the streets of Stormwind!
2) Remember how we made Gilnean NPCs have “long coats” in-game and depicted them as wearing long coats in the comics, hearthstone, etc, and then updated Genn’s model in Legion to have a long coat, and then when heritage armors were announced Worgen players were asking to have a long coat like Genn? Weellllll.. we are going to give the long coat to Kul Tirans.
3) Remember how Gilneas had a dark, gothic vibe with dark forests that had monsters lurking in them while the people fight off these monsters? That whole theme that separated them from Stormwind? Welllll... we are going to give that to the Kul Tirans too with Drustvar.
4) Remember how we made Worgen “unique” druids by making them Harvest Witches who follow the “Old Ways”, but we didn’t expand on that at all and just gave them the same druid forms as Night Elves? And remember how we made the Gilneans a big part of Hallow’s End and had them be the reason for the Wicker Man practice coming to the Alliance? Welllll... we are giving the wicker connection and stuff to the Kul Tirans also with Drustvar, and giving them their own unique druids and expanding on the lore for their druids while giving them unique wicker forms. Sorry not Sorry.
5) You know how all the allied races are getting their own cool racial flag in the embassy and the Darnassian flag is there also? Welllll... we are going to add the Gilnean flag for the Heritage quest but we are just going to slap the Stormwind logo on it. You already homeless and living in Stormwind so you are part of their kingdom now right? Right.... I mean your king is already licking Anduin’s boots and kissing the ground he walks on soooo.
6) Remember how for the last 10 years the Gilneans have been saying “Our curse grants us strength” yeeaaahhh forget all that. Tess Greymane is going to realize that the curse just fucking sucks, it doesn’t define the Gilneans anymore, and basically needs to die out with this generation of Worgen. Lol racial pride? Who needs that!
I am being salty today. Now I don’t believe any of this was intentional on Blizzard’s part to screw Gilneans/Worgen, at least I hope not, but man. It really feels like this race is just an afterthought to Blizzard. It feels like they took everything that made them unique and different from Stormwind Humans and gave it to the Kul Tirans. So the Kul Tirans get the themes and aesthetic of Gilneans, AND have their own kingdom and capital, where does that leave the Gilneans? It really feels like Blizzard is trying to fade them away into just assimilating into Stormwind.
Gilneas deserves better!

something tragic about you (Geralt x reader)
Chapter 4
length: 1,472
tw: none
author’s note: this one was fun to write, and I already have the next chapter kinda planned out in my head, so it shouldn’t be too long of a wait! thanks for reading <3
Part 1, Part 2, Part 3
It’s not so much brighter when you wake and are ready to face the day, only to see that Geralt is gone.  You dress as quickly as you can, yanking on warm layers and shoving your nightgown into your bag.  The Witcher has not left anything in the room, and you figure that he’s left for good while hoping that he will be waiting at a table for you downstairs.  It’s a stupid wish, yet you still feel a pang in your chest when it isn’t granted.  A few days with a gruff sort of kindness and you’re already addicted.
The innkeep sees you looking around and lets you know the room’s been paid for, asks if you’d like breakfast while you wait for your Witcher to return.
You scoff.  Your Witcher.  You will not dally around waiting for a man that isn’t coming back.
The blizzard has broken and the sun dazzles in the snow, near blinding you.  You were worried you’d have to wade through as you’d done most of yesterday, but you find paths shoveled out, people going about their daily business.  At least until the edge of town you can walk easily.  And after that?  You suppose you’ll head south, far enough that you won’t fear freezing to death when you sleep.  You imagine warm sun, a cool river, soft grass and dappled shade.
You are snapped from your daydream when a woman walks your way.  When you nod in greeting she smiles in return, passing you by.  How strange the difference that the small distance from here to home has made; you find yourself charmed by this little village where no one knows you.
Despite willing yourself to begin your journey alone, your feet take you down the path to the small stable beside the inn, only a few horses waiting in stalls.  You have always felt safest with animals near, and you’re comforted by these horses, with their sturdy strength and big brown eyes.  You reach out to the velvety nose of a huge mare, and she whickers and leans into your touch.  She’s a magnificent creature, and as you continue petting her you can’t help but start talking.
Eventually you settle in the hay with your back to her stall door, and tell her of your past few days.  You tell her that you were ready for that beast to kill you, maybe even welcomed it, that you are ashamed of the growing warmth you feel toward the Witcher, the lack of remorse for killing Lyden.  Your eyes are closed and there’s a small thrill buzzing through you at the thought of your freedom, the sweet scent of hay, and you ask of the mare, “How is it that I feel more peace in murdering a man than liking one?  Has something in me broken?”
For a moment you think you imagine the voice that speaks when you’re done.  “I see you met Roach,” Geralt rumbles, “I find her company engaging as well.”
You startle slightly, feeling guilty that you tense up; surely he’s had his fill of people being afraid of him.
“I’m sorry,” you rush to say, “I just didn’t hear you approach…”  You trail off when you notice he seems unbothered.  He stands over you, rubbing the horse’s nose as you’d been doing.  So this is the Roach he’d mentioned.
“What were you talking about?” He inquires, his eyes dipping to your packed bag before training his gaze on you, watching as you stand and brush hay from your skirts.
“I was asking this lovely mare where she will take you next.”  It isn’t a total lie; you’d mulled over with her what would happen to you now that he’d left the town.  Which he didn’t, apparently.  You wonder now if he’ll allow you to keep tagging along or if it’s time to part ways.  You’ve never had a companion before Geralt and you can’t pretend away the fondness that is growing in your heart.  You frown.
“You weren’t talking to her about where you’re going?”  He looks again at your bag and you shift on your feet, looking at Roach to avoid looking at him.
“It’s just… I thought you’d left, so I was going to move on as well.”
“So why didn’t you?”
You’re surprised he asks, and when you look back up at him he seems genuinely curious.
“I guess I was hoping you’d come back.”
He has no response for that but a deep hmm.  He turns from you and says, “I’ve just been paid for killing the beast that nearly killed you.  It’s time for lunch.”
That is the closest to an invitation you think he will give, so with one last pat for Roach you scurry after the Witcher, thinking the dazzle of the sun on snow gives him a halo-glow that suits him as much as his armor and swords.
You can tell from outside the inn that it is infinitely more rowdy than before, rivalling even your own tavern --not yours, not anymore, you have to remind yourself-- and when you enter the people are gathered around an extravagantly dressed man sitting on the bar.  He is telling a story with a cup in hand, his wild gesticulations spilling drink, clearly a little drunk already even though it is barely noon.
Geralt is in front of you in the doorway and he visibly stiffens.  You step abreast of him, notice his clenched jaw, ask, “Do you know him?”
But then the storyteller lets out a delighted yell, hops from the bar and slips between townsfolk to plant his hands on the Witcher’s shoulders and say, “Geralt, you brute, I haven’t seen you in ages!  Best friends should be in contact more often than this.  Who is this delightful morsel of a girl, is she with you?”
It takes you a moment to process that you are the delightful morsel and you flush from your cheeks to the tips of your ears.
Geralt, on the other hand, shrugs the man off and retorts, “It hasn’t been long enough since I last saw you, Jaskier.”
But Jaskier just laughs, and Geralt walks away from the both of you, setting himself down at a table.  You and Jaskier both trot after him.  Now that the entertainment is over, most of the people leave, dispersing to get back to work.
Jaskier calls for a round for his dear friend and fair maiden then says to you, “Where on this continent did Geralt find you, my lady?  I could write countless songs of your beauty.”  He perks up after his proclamation and trots to the bar to retrieve an abandoned lute and returns, plucking out a melody.  Oh, apparently he is going to do this now.
“Fuck off, Jaskier,” Geralt says, but there’s not much force behind the words.  “She needed help and I happened to be there.”
“Ooh, so what was it that almost got you?”
“Bard, stop,” Geralt warns.
“No, it’s fine,” you interject, “I don’t mind.”  You carefully push your sleeve up to show him your bandage.  There’s less blood blotting the white linen, your skin finally starting to heal after a couple days not using the arm for anything strenuous.
Not insensitively, he wonders aloud, “Could you not have healed at home?”
“Wasn’t much of a home,” you snort.
“Really?  Why not?”
The bard means no harm in asking, but you still feel yourself blanche, your stomach drop.  It surprises you when Geralt speaks.
“This is why.”
He reaches over to you and tucks your hair carefully behind one pointed ear.  Jaskier watches this with rapt attention and your heart skips as you sweep your hair back into place, expecting the man to say something awful about your heritage or to leave or to get up and sing it to the whole inn.
But he does none of those things; instead, he looks to Geralt and says, “I’ve known you for how many years?  And you’ve never once brushed my hair from my face.  But you know this girl, what?  A week?”
“I think it’s been just four days, actually,” you interrupt, bewildered by this response.
Jaskier sputters, “What?  Four days!  And you touch her all tender and sweet!  I thought we had a good thing going, but I guess I mean no more to you than a two-penny whore.”  He throws an exasperated hand in the air and picks up his cup with the other, taking a long pull from his drink.  “I suppose I’d best start writing something maudlin now for my lost love.”
“Fuck,” Geralt mutters, rolling his eyes.
“I like this bard,” you tell the Witcher.
“Fuck,” he says again, more emphatically.  But when you grin, you think you see the corner of his mouth twitch up, just for a second.

For the Inky Asks, 24, 25 and/or 39 for Fane?
Another ask!? *starts to hyperventilate violently* You have all unleashed the well of my mind, and it will never STOP! Let’s gooooo!
Thank you for the ask, you wonderful person, you! ❤️❤️
24. what is their opinion on blood magic? would they ever use it, if given the chance?
Honestly? Fane doesn’t see the issue with blood magic. As long as someone isn’t being sacrificed (unwillingly. yeah, you heard me), then he isn’t too bothered by it. He has a mindset of ‘Sacrifice the few to save the many’, and he’ll use whatever means is necessary to accomplish what he needs to. If he had access to blood magic, and didn’t have his sensitivity barring him, then yes, he would use it, but only with his own blood.
Reaver rituals, though? (I know it’s not technically blood magic, but it has a lot of shit tied into it that’s reminiscent of it) Fane will sunder your very existence if you dangle a vial of dragon blood in his face, and he’ll dangle you over the edge of the ramparts with a dead expression. *shrugs*
25. What is their favourite place within playable regions?
Fane LOVES the Emprise du Lion. The snow, the cold, the ice, the scenery (when there isn’t red lyrium everywhere) makes him feel that much more connected to his draconic heritage since he lived on a large mountain that was encased in a seemingly perpetual blizzard. He usually wears lighter armor when he’s there because he likes the sting of the cold, and of course everyone balks and gasps. Solas just chuckles and shakes his head before forcibly shoving a heavier coat at Fane, which he usually just chucks into the bushes. Fane doesn’t need no coat! Damn straight!
39. If Varric gave them a nickname, what would it be?
Varric actually does give Fane a nickname! Practically when they first meet! Varric’s nickname for Fane is ‘Tempest’ due to Fane’s inclination for being completely calm the one minute, and then striking and tearing into everything like piercing rain and shocking lightning with how furious he can get. Near the end of Inquisition’s timeline, Varric does refer to Fane as ‘Dragon’ without any knowledge as to Fane’s identity. He gives him that because of the occurrences of how Fane ends up starting to protect every dragon they have to fight, actually getting injured the one time he throws himself into one of Bull’s killing blows. My boy can’t take it for much longer, I’m telling you. *sweats nervously*

you said “but you criticize cassie clare all the time particularly for her misuse of queer characters” and I said “well yeah but anna lightwood make gay brain go ‘hnnnng’ so I stole her and picked up a free gift on the way out” and you said “oh right sure”

drink the sun like wine
Anna Lightwood knew sad girls.
She knew how sadness flooded a person, became the rain and the ocean and the blizzard that they lost themselves in. She knew how many ways girls could wear their sadness, how some girls cloaked themselves in tears while others packed their sorrow into beautiful little vials to keep in their drawers, only to be taken out and lovingly handled on the blackest, loneliest midnights. She’d known the girls who turned their grief into armor, their skin turned to ice and iron, and the girls whose misery turned them to snow and porcelain, fragile and collecting dust on some man’s highest shelf. The girls who came to Anna all came with sadness, and they often left with more than they could bear.
Anna Lightwood loved sad girls. Perhaps it was starting to take a toll on her.
Anna lifted her cheroot to her mouth, then let it fall again without inhaling. She’d made the mistake of leaving her flask lying on the table in her flat, filled with gin and now utterly useless to her. She briefly considered asking Matthew what he had on his person - Matthew Fairchild always had something on his person - then thought better of it. Matthew treated liquor like knives, as though if he poured enough down his throat it might one day show the world the damage he felt should be obvious. She liked Matthew; if she were being honest with herself, Matthew was likely her closest friend. Better to suffer the hideous boredom of another party than encourage his self-destruction.
The stone of the wall bit into her shoulder-blades through her clothes. Around her, the room swirled with brightly colored silks punctuated by dark jackets. At every wall, girls clustered around each other, hydrangea bloom dresses concealing whispers and giggles from the boys who lurked just far enough away to be admired. Matthew and his parabatai, James, weren’t among them, though that wasn’t uncommon. James Herondale didn’t have enough room in his head around all his romance and chivalry to think about preening for girls like Catherine Townsend or Rosamund Wentworth.
Ariadne stood with them. Anna always knew where Ariadne stood.
Pain pricked at her chest, a delicate reminder of what loving Ariadne Bridgestock had done to her. Sad girls, Anna mused, sad girls and their sad tales. She lifted the cheroot again, this time inhaling enough that she could pretend the constriction in her chest came from the smoke. Her eyes slid past Ariadne to Wentworth and Townsend. Both girls could be absolute vipers; there’d been more than one expensive dress that found itself accidentally ruined by Anna’s clumsy shoes, uncharacteristically smeared with mud, after she overheard them tittering amongst themselves about Matthew. On this particular occasion, they seemed to have snared a new prey. Laced up in a lavender gown trembling with beading, a girl Anna did not recognize gave them a thin smile.
There were not many ladies in London that Anna did not know. She shifted slightly against the wall, craning her neck as though searching out someone else entirely though her eyes stayed fixed on the stranger. The girl’s hair fell in dark curls, nearly black except where it glowed deep red in candlelight. Her golden skin spoke of a heritage rooted far from the hills of Wales and the sooty streets of London that gave Anna and most of her cousins their pale complexion, and the defiant lift in her chin might as well have been a beacon of her unfamiliarity with society. Her cheekbones were high, an elegant contrast to her striking eyes. Her hands, not delicately folded or fluttering like nervous birds as many girls’ were wont to do, occasionally shifted restlessly toward her hip. She must have been accustomed to wearing a sword, Anna realized. Another oddity, even for a Shadowhunter.
The cluster of girls shifted. Anna caught sight of Lucie, pressed against the girl’s side and going furiously red in the face as Wentworth and Rosamund giggled. The new girl’s brows drew slightly in confusion. Likely the girls were having another go at Matthew, or at the new girl’s dress, or Lucie’s continued disinterest in sharing their obsession with boys. Girls like that rarely went more than a half hour without finding something new to tear apart.
“Still doing all right?” A voice at her shoulder nearly made her jump. An evening full of new experiences, then - Anna hadn’t been properly startled in years.
“As well as can be expected,” she said smoothly to her father, who didn’t seem to have noticed her flinch. She turned her back on the girls to face him. “The Herondales do know how to provide an entertaining evening.”
Gabriel laughed. “At least your mother has been out of the party-throwing mood since the baby was born.”
Anna nodded her agreement and subtly dropped her cheroot into a nearby potted plant. Like many of Anna’s habits, Gabriel didn’t look favorably on her smoking, though he allowed her mother to deliver the blatant admonishments. “What is this one for, again?”
Gabriel frowned slightly out at the crowd, over Anna’s shoulder. “I believe it was to introduce the Carstairs, though I’ll admit the only one I’ve seen is the boy.”
“Carstairs?” The name rustled up a piece of news she'd heard and discarded as irrelevant. Lucie had told her, she recalled, about the friend who was coming to London to train to be her parabatai. There were other things, she remembered now, rumors of a disgraced father and a mother desperate to ingratiate her children into London society before a trial could be held and a name could be smeared. She followed her father’s eyes out to the dancing pairs, over Matthew and Lucie laughing together and Charles pretending to gaze adoringly at Ariadne, then looked back at where Lucie had been, where the new girl stood alone.
“Ah! There’s the girl. Cordelia, I believe Will said her name was,” Gabriel said. He lifted his glass to his lips and raised his eyebrows to subtly indicate the new girl, who now was accepting an invitation to dance from James.
“Oh, yes,” Anna said, practiced disinterest smoothing over her voice. “She and Lucie are to be parabatai, aren’t they?”
“I believe so. I expect her mother will want to rush it through, given her father’s trial.” Her father had caught sight of someone in the withdrawing room behind them, his attention already leaving Anna alone once again. “You’ll excuse me, dear. Come say hello to Arthur, when you’ve got a moment.”
As he left, Anna returned her attention to the dance floor. Now the pairs whirled in a waltz, the music swaying and rising with the ruffles and taffeta. There were likely hours left to this, and she found herself reaching the end of her limits to polite society. As much as Shadowhunter society tolerated her behavior, there were no girls here who would dare dance with her, and most of the boys avoided her out of fear or insecurity, she didn’t care which. Matthew, it seemed, had become entirely engrossed in Lucie, and James held Cordelia in a way which suggested he had little interest in finding another partner. Even her brother, one of the other members of their little troupe, was nowhere to be found.
Anna scanned the room one last time. She had spoken to everyone who would expect her to, she thought, but there was always one old tutor or friend of her father’s that she missed and heard all hell about later. But faces were blurring together, and she could see no one of importance. The only person who remained clear, her garnet hair flickering like embers as she danced, was Cordelia Carstairs.
Anna allowed herself a moment of respite, letting her eyes focus on the girl. She watched her dance, watched her staring at James with the hopeless adoration of a girl reunited with the boy she loved in childhood. She would grow up, Anna knew, and realize that the world was never so simple, that people did not remain still and wait for you to arrive to love them. Anna had seen enough of the world to know how the hearts of men and women moved. Countless girls arrived at her doorstep for this precise reason. The thought normally brought pity at best and scorn at worst, for the girls who wept and wailed over the boys and girls whose fickle hearts betrayed them, but for Cordelia she only felt a pale wash of sorrow. It would be a shame, Anna thought, for such a beautiful girl to cry.
Cordelia’s head turned, and over James’ shoulder her eyes swept the room, landing at last on Anna. Warmth rushed to pool in Anna’s chest, in her bones. The blurred faces around her turned to nothing more than painted wallpaper, a backdrop for the dancing girl in the center of the room. Out of reflex more than choice, Anna lifted one eyebrow in a silent greeting. For a single heartbeat, just long enough to tie Anna’s mind in an endless knot, Cordelia smiled at her.
Then she was gone, vanished into the bustle of dresses and dancing. Anna turned toward the withdrawing room. She slipped one shaking hand into her pocket. Anna did not live well with certainty; her world existed in gray spaces and emotions with no names. But the feeling that settled in her chest could be nothing less than sure, no word less forceful than knowledge.
Cordelia Carstairs didn’t carry her sadness. Whatever grief tried to fill her, she had wrested it into a weapon. It flashed out from her hip in shining gold, cleaving through bone and treachery. Her tears would not drown her but sustain her, provide soothing relief to her wounds before she returned to battle.
Anna Lightwood loved sad girls. Perhaps it was time to love a girl who burned.

A small revision on the teachers! tweaked info below:
The three schools of Magica City have been in their place for centuries, and in the case of Alfea and Torre Nuvola, are the very first schools for fairy and witch magic. They are all run by former members of the Company of Light, who assumed the roles of headmaster only 500 years ago. They were the ones tasked with holding a part of the Gate Key each after the first attack of Darkar, to be well protected under the many teachers and senior students.
The staff for each school is as follows:
ALFEA
Headmistress Laurelia Faragonda, Ascendix Fairy of Dreams. Is in charge of the Magic Archive and the Magic Animal Reserve. Her power covers light, darkness and illusions, and can erase nightmares and night terrors. A kind and gentle woman, will show you how strong she is if you threathen her students. Has the title of Nymph, as she is the magi that discovered Onyrix.
Vice-Headmistress Silvina Griselda, Professor of Combat Magic and History, Glacix Fairy of Blizzards. Stern and punctual, honestly wants the best for the students, and will try her best to help them if they’re struggling. Swears a lot when students aren’t present. Was also a part of the Company of Light, but acted more as an informant than as a frontliner.
Arlan Palladium, Professor of Potionology and Natural Magic, Arborix Fairy of Leaves. Somewhat softspoken and caring, he has a hard time of keeping his students in check during normal classes. Takes on a whole different approach during tests and excersises, becoming very hard on the students. He’s in charge of the Natural Greenhouse, and was good friends with Eldora whenever she visited. He’s one of the few magi that solely focuses on his natural Source, plants.
Lorenzo Wizgiz, Professor of Metamorphosymbiosis and Biology, Energix Sorcerer of Transformations. Loud and expressive, prefers to show his students how magic works rather than making them study it from books, and is very helpful and understanding when students struggle in his classes. Is the oldest teacher of all three schools, but has kept a young spirit and, thanks to that, a young appearance. His Source is that of Animals, but his grasp of Healing has lead to ease of metamorphosis.
Marianne DuFour, Professor of Applied Magic and Chemistry, Cosmix Fairy of Mechanisms. Is in charge of the Simulation Chamber. Jovial and prone to cracking jokes, her approach with the students is to simplify terms to help understand more complicated formulas. She frequently drinks water and has a humidifer in her classes, as her mermaid heritage makes her prone to dehydration. Her powers cover electricity and metal.
Luxiano Avalon, Professor of Metamagic and Defensive Magic, formerly a Valiantix Fairy of Light. A former Roccaluce Paladin, he’s a very quiet and to the point man, with unnatural amounts of patience. He’s very hard on discipline. Similar to Arlan, he focuses almost exclusively on his element of light. He was afflicted with a terrible aura-damaging spell that rendered him unable to fully transform again, so he summons his Paladin armor instead. He’s still able to form his wings and Valiantix Tiara, but trying anything more than that injures him severely.
FONTEROSSA (Red Fountain)
Headmaster Aure Saladin of Red Fountain. Grandfather of Helia. Ascendix Sorcerer of Weaponry. His powers fall under metal, and he uses an enchanted iron polearm that he can mold into any melee weapon he desires. Strict and firm with his students, but he really only wants them all to turn into remarkable soldiers and knights. His left eye is blind, and it’s not affected by the eye color change caused by Ascendix. Has a very rocky relationship with his grandson, and his tries of reconciliation have met with silence so far from the rest of the family.
Vice-Headmaster Disentre Codatorta, Professor of Dragonriding and Armed Combat. With an everlasting serious expression, he’s the most chill professor after Lorena. While hard on curfews and tardiness, he understands the best that most of the students are still young and wants to guide them into a better path. Took Knut under his wings after the events of S1, and eventually starts dating him.
Milos Palladium, Professor of Machinery and Defensive Maneuvers. Lustrix Witch of Sand. Cold-headed and quiet, he’s quite the contrast with his brother Arlan who teaches at Alfea. He can get too into his own projects, so he is infamously scatterbrained to his fellow teachers (and some of the older students, as well). He’s Arlan’s twin brother, and while they get along well, their differences in personality are quite astounding for some.
Gisela Alabaster, Professor of History and Strategizing. Known for being short and to the point, she’s easily the most attentive of the teachers, and will offer special classes if she can see a student has a different way of learning or a learning dissability. Incredibly defensive of her students but will call them out if necessary. She was a former member of the Roccaluce Paladins, and she’s in charge of the Red Chamber, the archive and armory of their most rare objects.
Lorena Saete, Professor of Biology and school nurse. Altheix Sorceress of the Sun’s Warmth. A total sweetheart, she’s the most caring and nice of the teachers, but don’t believe she’s not strong - she’s one of the best melee fighters the school has and she knows it. It’s kind of the confidant for some students - by which I mean most students have confessed their secrets while high on painkillers to her. She’s married to Professor DuFour.
Knut Evergroen, Teacher of Unarmed Combat and new school chef. Conjuror of Shadows. Hired to be a teacher after the events of S1, he focuses most on his job as chef since it’s the more demanding one. Prone to making jokes with his students and generally pleasant to be around, but he’s very focused on making sure his students don’t do stupid stuff and pull a muscle during training. Aside form Codatorta, he gets along the best with Lorena and can often be seen sharing a meal and talking. While not a Morpher magi, he can still summon his Conjuror uniform, and prefers it to Fonterossa’s armor.
TORRE NUVOLA (Cloud Tower)
Headmistress Gwendolyn Griffin, Ascendix Witch of Dark Waters. Teaches Magical Defenses and History. While her stature and appearance are imposing, she’s actually quite nice and understanding. Her patience runs short, however, and her punishments can be harsh yet just. Her Source covers water and poison.
Zarathustra Rivére, Professor of Hexes and Combat Magic, Energix Witch of Blue Flames. Hard on deadlines and assignments, as well as punctuality, but knows her students can do better and wants to give them the push they need.
Ediltrude Rivére, Professor of Biology and Healing, Altheix Witch of Red Lightning. Her approaches to teaching go more experimental, and while her classes are sometimes known as relax time, her way of testing the students depends a lot on attention. She’s generally more jovial than her twin sister.
Francis Bittersmoke, Professor of Potionology and Alchemy, Energix Witch of Thorns. While his memory’s fogey and has somewhat of a hard time keeping his students in check, he’s the quickest teacher in pinpoint issues in any technique the students practice. He’s in charge alongside Discorda to keep Cloud Tower healthy, as well as to guard its Heart.

🔥🔥🔥🔥- Aw yis, let's hear it!
((  Send me a “ 🔥 “ for an unpopular opinion. - @waroftwowolves <33333333333333 HAI
[1]: While the Kaldorei fully deserve bomb ass heritage armor that reveals their warrior-like physiques, I feel like Blizzard is going to opt for something STOOPID and give them something akin to the Druid armor from Nighthold.
[2]: It’s cool to be able to share tier gear across plate / mail / leather / cloth wearers, but I really fucking miss class-specific gear. It isn’t an unpopular opinion, but I wanted to throw that out there.:(
[3]: I am still watching the Witcher, but I really don’t know how I feel about it yet. I’m not sure if it will be a go-to.
[4]: Tumblr RP is hard for me to keep up with because there are times when I can sit down and dedicate as much time as I can to prompts, and other times where I log into tumblr just to scroll and reblog shit. Which then makes it seem like I’m ignoring posts, but sometimes my mind is too fried to respond to anything and eventually it turns into a game of, “I will respond soon!” Then life happens again and AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA. In game RP has always felt more immersive to me. Something about seeing the avatar you created, the surroundings, and being able to have the visuals and just nice. Discord is my next favorite, but as a GM I get spammed frequently and can’t exactly keep up with discord RP / discord servers all of the time!!! I wish IG RP was more frequent. ;^; ))

The Heritage Armor and the Status Quo
So how many people see the heritage armor quests as basically saying: “This character is 1000% safe from death and any story developments that would render them unable to appear in said quests”?
For me it feels this way mostly because of the wording used during the Lament of the Highborne quest for the Blood Elves when talking about Sylvanas. Basically Blizzard made it ambiguous enough so you can play the quest anytime be it 8.1 or ,let’s say, 12.5, and not feel pulled out of the narrative by it.
Basicaly it means that Lor’themar, Liadrin, Genn, Mia, Tess, Gazlowe, Baine and Gallywix are safe from death, Tess will never be a Worgen and Wix will probably be an on and off again low-key nuisance.

How has the Overwatch story moved forward since launch? I'm not doubting you, I just hear a lot of people say it's standing still and you usually explain things pretty clearly
Great question! So basically, at launch the in-universe Status Quo was very different than it is now. Here’s some of the beginnings of the plot threads, just a few things that were true in the “present day” of the game at launch, and through many of the early animated shorts and comics:
Ana Amari was presumed dead, as was Jack Morrison, as was Gabriel Reyes. Jack and Gabriel being alive was known to the audience, but not to any other known characters in-universe. Ana was seemingly presumed dead by everyone. The three characters were all in separate places at this point.
Doomfist had been defeated in battle by Winston and was now seemingly in prison.
Brigitte traveled with Reinhardt but did not engage directly in his crimefighting. She repaired his armor and treated his wounds but did not join the fight herself.
Bastion was wandering and exploring the wilderness alone following his post-crisis awakening
Torbjorn and Zarya wouldn’t be caught dead with an omnic
Following an attack on Gibraltar by Reaper, Winston has sent out a Recall, summoning any available Overwatch agents back to service. Initially, only Tracer is shown to respond.
Sombra is a behind-the-scenes member of the talon organization. She’s mentioned, but neither the audience nor the majority of the major characters know anything about her including “is she even real?” or “is Sombra one person or multiple people?”
Volskaya is a well-respected defense manufacturer who Zarya looks up to and is viewed as a hero.
Now, since launch, a lot of these things have changed. For example:
Ana Amari sends a letter to her daughter Fareeha informing her that she’s alive and explaining why she faked her death, and resumes vigilante activity.
In the course of this vigilante activity, she encountered Jack Morrison doing the same thing, and the two of them did battle with Reaper, discovering he was actually Gabriel Reyes. Reyes escaped the skirmish, Ana and Jack began working and living together at the Necropolis.
Doomfist escapes from prison.
Doomfist assaults Numbani killing the Omnic police force and steals his gauntlet from the Numbani heritage museum.
As a result of Doomfist’s assault on Numbani, a young Efi Oladele recovers the remains of an OR-14 and rebuilds it into a new robotic superhero specifically designed to be effective against Doomfist.
Doomfist reunites with his team, assassinates a Talon higher-up, and meets with the Talon council (Moira, Sanjay, Reaper, etc) to resume his role as De Facto leader of Talon.
Reinhardt and Mei receive and respond to the Overwatch recall.
After trying unsuccessfully to convince Reinhardt not to return to active service, Brigitte Lindholm resolves to train and become a superhero in her own right, upgrading herself from Alfred to Robin, so that she can make sure that she is able to protect her beloved but foolhardy godfather.
Following an assassination attempt on Katya Volskaya’s life, Volskaya lies to Zarya about Sombra’s motives and sends Zarya to covertly neutralize her. In the process, Zarya discovers Sombra’s true identity and befriends an omnic named Lynx-Seventeen. In the confrontation with Sombra, she learns the truth, that Katya Volskaya is a war profiteer dealing on both sides of the war. This, paired with her tempestuous friendship with Lynx-Seventeen, causes her to rethink both her hatred of omnics, her trust in her human heroes, and her unwavering loyalty to her country.
Bastion’s travels bring him to Sweden where he encounters Torbjorn, who actually sees something unique in him. This also causes Torbjorn to question his stance on omnics, and he cautiously allows Bastion into his home for protection and examination.
Now, these are only some of the areas in which the story has advanced since launch. They do a fair amount of backstory work too (almost too much, but I don’t mind) and a lot of the updates are simply filling in the past, like telling us Moira is a person and that she’s responsible for Gabriel’s condition, showing us Uprising and Retribution, even the flashbacks confirming how Ana “died” and how she survived could be counted under that (although I count it in ways the story has moved forward in the present day, since it wasn’t just the “she is alive” reveal, at least two story-advancing things have happened on that storyline since the reveal).
But what I’m saying is basically that if someone went into a coma right after “infiltration” and woke up today and asked me about how the story has moved forward since Winston hit the big Recall button, I’d have a lot to update them on even if I excluded all Pre-Recall flashbacks. It seems like not a lot has happened because Overwatch, the work of fiction, is practically never updated, so in the two-year period since launch, only maybe a few months have passed in-universe. I’m used to this because I watch the Venture Bros, which has been running for 14 years and only about 2 years have passed for the characters, but not everyone is as patient, which is understandable.
I’d say the main issue, and the only legitimate inconsistency, in the lore is the schedule at which it’s released. We have enough information now to know we’ll get a big background lore drop every spring, approx. four new heroes a year feat. Origin videos, and an animated short at Gamescom and another at Blizzcon, but the comics, the main part of narrative-advancing lore, are released on such a sporadic pace that except for the Archives comic, nobody really knows when the next one is going to drop, ever, until it’s dropped. Everyone is always shocked when a new comic comes out, which isn’t great.
Most comics are released on a monthly schedule, but I’d even accept a quarterly or semiannual schedule so long as it was consistent and made clear to the audience. My advice to Blizzard would be to hold off on the next comic until they can lock down a release date for the next comic after that, and then at the end of every comic it should pull a James Bond and be like “Overwatch will return this April with a new comic.” They don’t even have to give a date, just say what month a comic will be out and they wouldn’t have to hype anything.

WoW Q & A
We’ve seen more choices/player agency this expansion. How important is it to the team that these player agency choices happen for both factions, and how important to have repercussions?
Can only happen if there are repercussions. Not worth it otherwise. Have to be careful with the amount done and what’s chosen. Do I want to back the banshee queen or Saurfang? Interesting choice. Testing the waters with this.
METZEN! - When is the Horde getting its true Warchief back?
May be a job oppportunity coming up for a new Warchief. If so, we’ll call you.
20% auction fee hurting players. Did you have other ideas for it, and when will it be removed if so?
Only applies to select stackable trade goods. It’s a bandaid, would require a fundamental rework of the auction system. Limit to amount of population is collapse of the AH. Working on it.
Will the items in WoW classic be put in as tmog for the live WoW? For unobtainable items.
Important to keep the ecosystems separate. Separate the two completely. Playing classic BECAUSE you want to play classic.
Update on Class Relics?
Miiiight have jumped the gun. Tried to infuse it into a few systems since that time. Difficult to actually put in. Actively working on it. Prob see in heritage armor / individual armor as opposed to wholesale solution.
Character progression, specifically leveling not rewarding. Wouldn’t it be better to implement a level squish? More rewarding feeling.
Not satisfied with what lvling has turned into. A level squish is a big ordeal, and some psychological concern. Agreed that something needs to change. It’s not attainable to keep upping level without adding reward behind it.
What steps to address toxicity in public chat channels?
Values: Everyone have a good time. Better to lose the negative person then the group they’re affecting. Listen to reports, not always good at telling you they are. Lot of behind of scenes work to investigate. Going to be instituting technology in other blizz games to handle such. Much more thoughtful and better, but active.
Why is there so much RNG in the game, and do you have plans to move away from the amount of RNG?
A concern heard often. Completely deterministic. Had to get a drop, and grind certain emblems/badges in the past. Could mark on a calendar when you get pieces. No excitement or reward on the way. Not the world they want to do, but the flipside is nothing is predictable/certain. Been part of WoW. Putting in small fixes, but swung too far in pure randomness. Working towards a middle ground.
Smart loot system on mythic caches?
Def. randomness feeling there. A fix for azerite system was on M+ system. Would be great to have streak breaking protection, not so much bad luck support. Example: You get boots, don’t get another pair.
Information on future of Azerite gear? How does team see azerite gear improving and evolving?
Tides of Vengeance gets improvements rolled out. Multiple choices in outer rings of azerite. 3x as many pieces of gear that has trait you want. Continue to add new traits, replacing lack luster ones. Continue to do that through BfA. Beyond ToV, looking at ways to improve system. More depth and choices in Heart of Azeroth similar to artifact weapons.
Are you going to pull more things off of GCD?
Looking at offensive CDs, example of monks having around 10 abilities off the GCD. Pulled way way back, took feedback and put things back off GCD. ToV, ignore pain off GCD. Pretty satisfied with offensive CD of it. Don’t think taking off GCD fixes issues of needing to press 3 buttons to deal dmg. Reduce the buttons / need to push that many. Movement is big focus. Taking Movement abilities off GCD in ToV.
Color wheel/dye?
Comes up frequently. Big answer: Not for everything existing. Tinting contradicts how blizzard paints its armor. Very similar to oil painting. Going back to do everything would have to change all colors to grey, then doing color shifting. BC tried tinting, “clown era”. System would have to be isolated; one armor system so they can hand craft each color.
Took off niche abilities over time. If it resulted in homogenization of abilities, would you go back to MoP style?
Look at those abilities separately. Not averse to adding abilities where it makes sense. Mist and WoD abilities/talents were just used to shore up weaknesses. Would rather focus on strengths and give class identity. Feeling of “Man im glad we have an X” instead of “one of 6 specs to fill a hole.”
With CRZ and phasing off for classic WoW, how will you handle servers in classic with low pop realms / caps?
Not always seeing each other in the classic beta. Sharding at the moment, but demo is every char in the exact point in the world so without sharding would be broken. Some casual players, some hardcore. Concern is what will it do to realm communities, especially as realm populations fall over time? Using sharding in very limited ways. Understands its antithesis of classic, but necessary. First few weeks, plan to use limited sharding to beat initial launch problems. Further on, healthy population and single world.
Mechagon announced. Goblins and Gnomes; any development of background of Gallywix. How has being part of the larger horde affected him as a leader? Is he just a 2 dimensional money grubbing character? Any development of Gallywix and his attachment to his people?
3 dimensional money grubbing character. When pleasure palace can become pleasure palace, really experience goblins as they are meant to be; skyscrapers etc. Until then, we’ll look into it.
If we’re getting Azshara, will we get the cannon?
We’re gonna fire that cannon.
Can tmog restrictions be lifted / more freedom?
Kind of a one way street at the moment. Loosening some restrictions, notably heritage armor. Heritage armor the example. Tides of Vengeance: Can tmog over fist weapons with 1 handed. Can’t fix wands, wands are weird.
Differentiating between Sylvanas and Garrosh?
Stories not done. Much left to discover and explore. If I was Sylvanas and looking at Garrosh, i’d say Garrosh is an amateur.
Set up as Horde vs. Alliance. Warfronts, Island expeditions. Why if we’re in either one, are PvP talents not activated?
Because you’re not fighting other players.
Announcement of BG’s with island AI. Will PvP talents activate then?
Not sure. Probably turn on talents because PvP brawl. AI is literal reconstruction of players; frost mage using actual player abilities.
Do you encourage island expeditions to level?
yes. Buffed exp. Account bound unlock flight path item in Tides of Vengeance.
Will there be revamped M+ keystone leaderboard?
Sort of. Leaderboard still functions as a leaderboard. Challenge is only window of character progression. By Tides of Vengeance, add to the armory profile to see best times of week/season.
Low performing specs get bad reputation that persists long after buff. Anything to buff shamans, spriests and ferals?
Yes. If you keep getting turned down, you don’t have fun and you’re justified in blaming blizzard. Have to overbuff sometimes to get them better attention.
Any plans/considerations to bring back tier sets/gear related to give definition of class identity?
Trying something different in BfA. Gives a chance to get a set of gear that feels like that raid; naga raid give naga aesthetic gear. Class themed armor sets prob come back in the future. For now, cool to see varying designs.
Classic: Staying on patch forever, or eventually get its expansions?
Right now, focus on restoring classic WoW. Once it’s out next summer, go from there.

Thoughts on Blizzcon 2018 so far.
Overwatch Panel: We do need more women of color in the game and the fact that they didn’t keep Ashe’s darker skin tone is disappointing. Not really all the hung up on Echo’s design. People have posts pictures of before and after concept art for her saying she’s completely different but it looks like all they’ve changed is added a couple more lights, some wings and gave her a holographic face. World of Warcraft Panel: Well looks like Saurfang is going to be the next Warchief who is killed by random demon #3456 and elect the next tyrant and we’ll be doing this song and dance again in another couple years.
Hearthstone Panel: I kind of figured this would be the year of the trolls so seeing a Troll “expansion” for the game just adds on to it. And after the aforeimplied killing off of Vol’jin. Trolls deserve all the content we can push in their tusked and good lookin faces.
Diablo Panel: I haven’t seen this much hate in a room since the Fine Brothers tried to copyright the word “React”. I personally don’t really care. I played Diablo II back in the day and played through Diablo III at the beginning and then again at the reworking with the online item shop out. And honestly Diablo has always been that series that I mention as one of the Big Three of Blizzard but never really felt like it was their main goal to keep it alive. It felt far more like a testing ground for a while and experimenting. Always seemed to be on the back burner kind of like the Starcraft Panel: What fucking panel? I know Starcraft II went from “Holy shit theres a Starcraft 2!” to “Esports machine like Brood War” but eh...I really think Starcraft 2 is dead in the water...unless they turn it into Starcraft Immortal.
Destiny 2...uhh...10 second spotlight: Thanks for the free base game. Overwatch, What’s Next: Thanks for spending like 30 minutes talking about Ashe but all you did was just convince me more that B.O.B. should be his own hero, stand alone. Hearthstone, Diablo, Starcraft What’s Next Panels: Didn’t watch them...did the Diablo one get burnt to the ground?
World of Warcraft, What’s Next?: FLYING FUCKING BEE MOUNT! Also you do know by comparing the Mechagon to Karazhan you’re setting yourself up for failure. Kind of JJ Abbrams did when he revealed Khan was in Into Darkness. Which lead it to being compared to the Wrath of Khan one of the best Star Trek movies of all time. Mechagnomes, heritage armor for gnomes and tauren, all the future stuff. Looking forward to it. Also grats to Nathanos for having the steel balls to look out on an entire army of pissed off Night Elves with a small horde force and say “Yeah...we can hold them here.” Also, we’re finally out with the bullshit grey morality. Alliance is here to stop Sylvanas’ Evil Plan. We all knew it. We all saw it. I don’t know what Blizzard has to gain from beating around the bush. First with Vol’jin’s Warchief ascension and then with Sylvanas burning Teldrassil. Like just say it, rip that band-aid off.
Warcraft III Reforged, What’s Next Panel: As someone who grew up play Warcraft 2 and whose first bought and own game was the Warcraft 3 Battle Chest. I am fucking STOKED that we’re getting a face lifted version. I still go back and play the original from time to time. And I am happy to see it coming back. No one will dampen my spirits on it.
And anyone who doesn’t understand the weight of Warcraft 3 is not exactly in tune with the lore. Without Warcraft 3, we have no MOBA. There would be no Heroes of the Storm, League of Legends, or Smite without Warcraft 3 allowing the customization that was fantastic at the time to allow such things. No tower defense. Hell no Battle Royal, probably. Without Warcraft 3 we do not have Night Elves, Blood Elves, the Undead Scourge, Forsaken, Sylvanas, Arthas, Illidan, Tyrande, Jaina, or the Burning Legion. No Tauren, Old Gods, Kalimdor, Maiev, or Orgrimmar. No really large expansive World of Warcraft really.
Yeah Demons were present in previous games but none of it was really spelt out as an actual force it was more like DND where Gul’dan just summoned up some Demons. Warcraft III laid the foundation for WoW and all its plot points up to Battle for Azeroth. Everything that was in Warcraft 3 was present in WoW. So to see the foundation that WoW was built upon getting a well deserved face lift is a sight to behold. Now you might really care about RTS’s but Warcraft 1 was the wooden frame, Warcraft 2 was the cement, and Warcraft 3 was the house that they kept adding and expanding on. Might not like RTS’s but give it a little respect. People are excited about this and for good solid reason.

10!? Why are you doing this to me?
1) I'm watching Harry Potter and the Goblet of fire right now in TV even though I've seen it a hundred times.
2) I'm really craving cookies. I borderline have an addiction to chocolate chip cookies, when we have them in house I have an irresistible urge to eat them, like I'm some damn cookie vampire or some shit.
3) I'm tired of being lonely.
4) I really want to renew my FFXIV and WoW subs but know I shouldn't.
5) I'm so hyped for Batwoman its been good so far.
6) I'm irritated that the Worgen heritage armor wasn't a long coat, like Blizzard has the assets for it right there with Genn Greymane they just had to add that to the current and set... Come on.
7) I wish the Falcons would get rid of Matt Ryan he blows. He's nothing but a stat-padder and will never help the Falcons win when we need him to.
8) I know it's super cliche to say this, especially in this community, but I perpetually feel like a burden and annoying to everyone.
9) I wish I knew what I wanted out of life and what I wanted to do. Why can't I just be rich?
10) I love anything vampire and werewolf related. It's my jam.
Thanks @igniting-the-dawn :)

Session: 2-2-19
Greetings to you both Mother and Father,
You may have noticed that I did not include a “Cheerful” before the greeting… I find myself huddled in a corner as I sit and look at the beautiful armor Lassmura has made for me. I have finally encountered the vilest creature in existence… the rust monster. I had heard tales of them when I visited the mines and forges of the Orsran Mountains but I had never seen them, as I was told they were killed immediately and were dwellers of the deep. Well…I have received a lesson first hand as to the damage they are able to cause just by the mere brush of their disgusting frilly fluffy feeler things…
Ugh! If at all possible, I am currently trying to fix the state of my armor with the basic skills Lassmura has taught me, but if it would not be too much trouble as to ask if she could forge me something stronger that could withstand such disgusting little pests? I have heard stories of great smiths who are able to forge armor that would never rust, works of art, masterpieces. I know Lassmura must be capable of such a feat. I have never seen finer armor in all of my travels that could rival that of her creations and I know many elves have commended her on her work. I suppose it would be prudent to spend a little more time learning more advanced smiting skills.
I think I may have made a fool of myself in this encounter, but I have also been privileged to see a deeper inner working of this group. Kian is very hot headed and easily flies into a fit of resignation when things do not go as planned or if others do not listen or follow him. To be honest, I am not sure if I would follow Kian, he does not seem to carefully consider the situation or the others around him. As we left for the Pools of Celestial, Adrie did not wish to ride the gryphons but the rest of us did, I believe we did not want to trudge through the frigid snow, so we rode on. It was almost half way up the mountain we were met with such a ferocious blizzard; Adrie said that the blizzard was unnatural. I thought we all had agreed to stop to build a shelter but Adrie was so angered and upset at the gryphons treatment that she simply turned and left.
The others were busy trying to dig a shelter and as I tried to convince her to stay for a moment, she rode back to the monastery. We managed to catch up to her but we had back tracked quite a ways that the others were very upset that she had left with no word and for the time and distance that was lost. It was interesting to see the interactions, that though each member moves and works on their own, there is a hint of comradery within the group. It was strange that the others did not consider Adrie’s feelings until she had chosen to act. I wonder if this lack of communication and lack of understanding will continue and if I will at some point be experienced to it.
No woman, no matter the race enjoys being ignored. I chuckled a bit as I think of Vistra and her refusal to heal people who undermine her. I wonder if that approach works… I know you both would frown and tell me that healing should not be withheld, but in all honesty I wonder sometimes if there are people out there who simply do not deserve such mercy. I hope you are not disappointed in me and my thoughts.
As we camped, we encountered an ice giant but the others were able to fight him off just in time to hear the most eerie of sounds. It was a horn blast that resounded with such force and noise that it shook the entire mountain along with my bones. Matt said it was a bad omen that the horns were from Tiamat… I fear there is much darkness looming about than the world knows about. I’m not sure what sort of things you’re hearing back at the village, but if you could send some information if there is any my way, I would greatly appreciate it.
The place is an old ancient place with a city carved into the very bedrock of the mountain caves, it reminds me of the Orsran Mountains, except the dwarven cities that are built underground are larger and far more beautiful. The intricate carvings of houses and stores that are embellished with gold, silver or bronze, here it is lifeless, but an old dwelling place to many dragonborn. I sense Rohgar is eager to know more of this place, like all of us he is searching, but he has not trusted me with what exactly he is searching for. But I sense that almost everything is laced with a deep sense of loss and it pains me at times.
But back to the rust monsters…yes any information on how to save or keep my armor and how to effectively kill those things would be most helpful, though I am unsure of how long it will take for this letter to reach you both. If there are other creatures of the deep that I should be aware of please include them. Though I am sure some of my companions would ask if I should know more since I am a dwarf, but others will wonder how I know so much since I was raised by elves.
I felt a little hurt as I was reminded that I was not quite a dwarf and not quite an elf. I live with one foot in one world and one in the other only to know bits and pieces but not enough to form a whole world. I wonder if I should never have mentioned that I was raised by elves. I’m not ashamed of my elven upbringing; I still struggle with what everyone says I should or should not be. I have long asked myself “What am I?” and these travels have certainly caused me to stop and ponder such things. What is a dwarf and what is an elf? Anyways, I do not regret my life and am thankful for you both and for the love, care and instruction you have blessed me with.
Speaking of instruction, I have offered to teach Adrie how to read, and wondered if you could send the elven grammar books for younger children. She is an elf so I think it would be a treat for her to learn to read the language of her heritage. Adrie is the only other female in this group and I think we shall become good friends.
Oh yes, thank you for the gummy owl bears, my traveling companions enjoyed them. Please stay safe in these uncertain times. I look forward to the day I can return home from my travels. Send everyone my love.
May Pelor continue to shine upon you all.
With much love,
Your Bessie.
