Continuation part 3
Continuation of shots of Q in marshal's outfit
Definitely here I have the impression that the chemistry between Q and Picard is more perceptible...
Plus the way he played with the marshal's cane, or just the baton (although I'm not entirely sure, that's what it's exactly called), mesmerising.

Star Trek: The Next Generation, 109 (Nov. 21, 1987) - “Hide and Q”
Written by: C.J. Holland & Gene Roddenberry
Directed by: Cliff Bole
The Breakdown
Q makes his first return appearance, but this time he decides he’s going to pick on Riker, since Picard is a boring rule follower. Initially Q brings Riker (along with a few select bridge crew) to another plane-of-existence to play some kind of war simulation. After making the participants suffer grisly and painful deaths, Q decides to undo it all, and instead levels Riker up with the power of unbridled omnipotence. Initially Riker does try to resist the temptation to do literally anything he wants, but his resolve is tested when a young child dies on a rescue mission, which leads Riker to thinking “hey technically I could actually do a lot of good with these new powers.” And in fairness, he’s kind of got a point.
So what does Riker do with his new godhood? Of course first-things-first, he proceeds to bring the little girl back to life before reuniting her with her fami- Just kidding, lol. No, instead he offers his friends a round of good old fashioned wish fulfilment. Riker proceeds to offer Geordie his sight back, Worf a violently horny Klingon woman, and Wesley a ripped-and-slightly-older body. To his astonishment the entire crew turn down their gifts almost without hesitation, possibly because of their strong moral centre, but also possibly because Q is clearly playing at some kind of contrived moral lesson about humanity, and playing into his hands is generally unwise. Realizing the error of his ways, Riker surrenders his new powers, and literally no one mentions the little dead girl ever again. Meanwhile Q is dragged away screaming by the Q-continuum, because apparently he didn’t get the proper permits to visit the humans. I’m sure that’s the last we’ll see if that guy!
The Verdict
The concept is sound enough, as far as morality plays go, but the execution culminates in a missed opportunity to delve into some more interesting questions. Do I think Riker should possess the power of a god? No. But surely the life of an innocent child should yield greater consideration than Wesley’s desire to be a grown up. All things considered, ‘Hide and Q’ is just kind of weak, if amusing in it’s own right.
John de Lancie is starting to lean more into the trickster god vibes this time around, which I do enjoy, although still a little over-the-top, but then so is everyone else.
2 stars (out of 5)
Additional Observations
Lt. Yar has a thing for a sensitive Picard, and maybe also Worf? During Q’s games she’s sidelined and made to wait on the ship (with her life potentilally on the line). Picard offers his moral support and she’s basically like “Wow you really are the whole package. If ONLY you weren’t also my captain”. And maybe it’s just me, but later when Worf is offered his potential Klingon mate, Tasha seems a bit jealous. I guess she can’t deny a strong forehead.
Wesley gets impaled, but words can’t do it justice.
Worf’s acrobatic leap over the bridge railings has got to be one of the most unintentionally hilarious pieces of acrobatics in television history. I love it with all my heart.
The bridge crew are all a little TOO impressed with adult Wesley.

this probably wont cross 200 words if that, but it is something i need to write down.
so have a trans!riker drabble taking place during/after hide and Q
It was complicated. He had promised, and he stuck by his promises. And if he gave in, Beverly would find out. But Picard wouldn't have to. Picard didn't know now, and he would never have to risk finding out.
But he had done it for everyone else, if only for a moment. Geordi had seen, Data had been offered humanity, he'd given them all what they wanted! Was it not fair to think he could grant his own wish?
Now he was even thinking like Q.
But watching them all, knowing what was about to happen, knowing he was about to loose it all. Well, he had to try.
That split second, that was worth it. That second of pure selfish corruption. A second in a body that felt right. If only he'd thought of it sooner.
Of course it didn't last. Q took it with him as he left. That second after, it hurt more then anyone could know. It was almost enough to make him wish he had taken Q's offer. The key word being almost.
Coordinates sent to Geordi, and his knuckles white, he smiled. He wasn't sure why. Maybe he was laughing at his own misfortune. Maybe it was simply all too much for one man to bare.
"Captain, could I speak to you privately for a moment?" Will cringed at how his voice broke, cringed at the stare that all but Data gave him. It was too late to take the words back.
"Of course Number One, I will meet you in my ready room momentarily." Will stood quickly and moved into the room, hearing Picard sink slightly in his chair before closing the door. He didn't want everyone's eyes on him any longer then necessary.
Will stood in the corner of the room, watching the fish. He still found it odd, Picard's insistence on keeping the fish. However it was nice to watch them swim. Even as Picard took a seat, Will didn't move from the fish.
"Permission to speak freely, Sir?" A nod. "I wanted to apologize. You were right, and I ended up using the powers for selfish gain. I should have listened too you."
"Number one, what you did was highly inappropriate behavior. However it was not selfish to grant your friends their dreams."
"Thank you Captain, but I also momentarily granted my own dreams."
"You are by no means obligated to tell me, however, for curiosities sake, what was this dream?"
"To be born as male, sir."
Picard paused, and Will shifted his eye contact from Picard to a large fish. He steeled himself for a reprimand, perhaps even reassignment. Instead, Picard hummed softly.
"Is that all Commander?"
"Yes sir." Will blinked in confusion, turning to look at Picard again. Picard simply smiled to him.
"If you are thinking I may see you differently because of this, your wrong. Now, would you inform Mr. Data he is to take command of the bridge for awhile? I believe you and I are due for a rest."

Q's smile is definitely the cure for a bad day. Like please, he's so gorgeous. John has an amazing smile, so distinctive and to top it off each one seems different. You easily go to recognise the emotion in it and understand what Q is feeling/thinking.
Of course, my favourite kind of smile is the one where Q seems full of joy.
Q in ready room. Once again, thanks to the people who came up with the idea of Q in the Marshal of France uniform. His legs and the whole silhouette looks simply magnificent.
Q in Date's outfit and make-up is definitely one of those things that makes a person uneasy. I don't know what exactly is wrong with this look, but something most certainly is.
And hey look at that 3 full pins.
I want to know who allowed John de Lanta to make such a face. This should be punishable… and damn, whatever was in anyone's head for JDL to make a face like that, thank you for that.
