Simple Rundown: Kevin got fed up with Gretel and was mentored by Doofenshmirtz. He’s 25 and is now technical-lly advanced, and evil. He still lives at home with his parents and Gretel.

Gretel is 17 and got stuck being his “nemesis”, they keep him from harming citizens and researching aliens.

Hamster “retired” years ago, thought it would look best if the pet hamster wasn’t going to outlive the average for too much longer to the parents' perspective. He “passed” when Gretel was 15 and is currently living on Bora Bora.

I've heard people speculate that Dave and Carolina have known about Hamster and Gretel being superheroes all along. Now, assuming this is true, the question is, why do they know? Here's what I think: It's not some big conspiratorial reason.

The parents know because the aliens had to have them sign permission forms before giving their daughter superpowers. The reason Dave and Carolina haven't said anything is because it's funny watching their kids try to keep it a secret. This would be a truly hysterical plot twist.

it’s kind of sad how dan continues to refer to meli with she/her pronouns (meli’s pronouns are they/them according to their instagram), and i have to admit that i kind of empathize with them. my own parents continue to misgender me even though they know i’m genderfluid and have said that they accept me; i just never correct them because a) i technically go by any pronouns and don’t feel like it would be valid to correct them and b) coming out initially was very stressful and i just wouldn’t feel comfortable having that conversation with them again, let alone over and over like how it would probably turn out

dan follows meli’s instagram and has interacted with their posts recently, so i think it’s very reasonable to assume that they wouldn’t put their pronouns on there if dan didn’t already know. i know pronouns can be confusing—i mess people’s pronouns up all the time and im literally NB. i just hope meli and i both can get our parents to gender us correctly one day lol
