Design Concept Sketches I’ve been working on for a GN/Non-binary Trailblazer
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Caelus —> ??? —> Stelle —> And two side views of our Nameless NB
My Trailblazer is officially one of the Nameless now too lol (literally has no name yet). I’m gonna do full body outfit for them too soon but that’ll take awhile and I wanna post what I have rn so :>
(Hh also I realized after that I’d accidentally given Nameless Aether’s hair which RIP me. Egg on my face. Uhm I’ll just never style his hair like Aether’s — pretend it’s unique for me pls /lhj I just didn’t know whether to give them hair in between length or longer than and this was the easiest middle ground)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
this is just a lil smth I decided to do for fun bc I, as a funky little artist enby, wanted someone more of my stature (I love caeleus but he’s kinda tall and that intimidates me) and also I just generally like NB and GN mc’s, they’re nice <3 The Nameless NB will LIKELY be who I draw in the future in place of either canon Trailblazer’s for most things — but don’t quote me on that. I may just feel like doodling one of the other two for fun but we’ll see !
P.S. NO one asked but I named my Trailblazer (I keep almost sating Traveler) Shingetsu which means New moon, Heart moon, spirit perfection, or enlightenment of the mind and I’m so proud of that name for him, I love Shingetsu v much he’s a lad! I’d’ve used it for the Nameless MC but it doesn’t fit the naming conventions of Stelle and Caelus who have names of… Latin origin, I believe, while Shingetsu is Japanese.
And P.S.S I say Nameless NB a lot bc it’s catchy but I’m sticking w ambiguity for their gender - I’m always gonna use they/them (unless i fuck up) but anyone can use anything for them! And if you wanna use their design please credit me or I’ll be upset!
and have a sketchier version of the above for reading so far <3

[Pokes pokes] hey walpie, I caught an idea before in ran away (kinda like my continuation to my old ask)
Nameless!reader who've been acquainted with Aventurine for so long, from their first meeting and their fateful encounters from their trailblazing and his business trips. Take the chance to get to know each other, bit by bit, until that seed of affection slowly grow and bud. Little did Aventurine want to admit it, but he found a temporary safe space everytime they're around.
To see each other again in Penacony, it was expected that they'd hang out once again although... They will definitely see something's off about his insistence to be acquainted or "friends" with many he's seen, he's looking for allies. Reader would press him, what is he planning, they've known when an IPC representatives is in a certain location, it'll have something to do with the IPC to claim it or "help" it. As a Nameless, they have the tendency to help these worlds wherever they go, but the gambler have a higher chance at winning, an all or nothing man. Despite their difference of objectives, and to go against each other in the end,
Still spare each other a dance they do, in the true Dreamscape where no one would see. This time he doesn't want to to sit back and huddle in his safe space with them (even if in the future they won't be able to feel this safe space again, for the universe is full of uncertainty, until his luck run out to not be able to see them again), he has a plan to carry out. He won't tell them, he'd walk away like everything is fine, but his chest aches to leave them in the dark, even worse when they've known him long enough to know he's planning something. Aventurine will let himself be driven to the edge, until fate took his side and win with a bang. They've seen it, his gambles, his deals, and the moment March mentioned a man with alabaster head, they have an inkling of what he's going to do.
For Ratio to be here, for Topaz to be in the reverie, for him to run around looking for allies. They know, he's planning something big, and they have an inkling feeling that it'd destroy him.
But what can they do? Press him further for answers? Connect the dots to see the big picture and put him to a stop? Drop their defenses and get hurt later? Maybe... But here in the true Dreamscape, where no eyes are looking, they dropped their guard down. To have a friend with no strings attached, become an enemy in a certain future, facing each other, it's not a low possibility.
So there they are, alone together, wandering the true Dreamscape. Aventurine cracking small pieces of his walls for them to see, reader expressing their personal feelings but never mentioning those three words, spend the time together before they'll go on their own path and face each other.
"You are a wonderful experience"
"You are everything"

Ya'll know what we need? Potential Nameless/Express Aventurine. This man needs a healing arc and what better way to do it than for him to somehow escape from where he is and take shelter with the express. Now, I have no clue if once he got out of where he is if his stone would light back up, but if Acheron was able to completely disconnect him from Harmony, then she may have been able to slice up whatever linked him to his stone.
(I know this is most likely (99%) not possible, but let me dream here-)
Dan Heng is most likely the one to find Aventurine first since I hold no doubt this man would find some way into the Express. Dan Heng would then hold Aventurine somewhere with nothing but suspicion while the other Nameless got there after he alerted them.
No doubt a vote would be held to either kick him out or take care of him for the time being because this man would probably be slightly out of it mentally (not totally, just lucid enough to have somewhat clear thoughts) due to Acheron's slash only to wake up and ditch before he could be found by the IPC's workers, who went to get his body.
The Nameless would probably end up taking him in for the time being as well as nursing him back to health mentally, physically, and emotionally.
The Trailblazer would probably be the one to make the first "friendship" move with him. March would follow, but Dan Heng would take a while more. Himeko would definitely act like she usually does: motherly (granted with a little suspicion).
Welt would probably be on-guard but wouldn't out-right reveal it like Dan Heng or Pom-Pom would.
Cue that found family once everything begins calming down between the Nameless and Aventurine. It would take a while, but I don't doubt they would eventually calm down around him.
For any angst and/or protectiveness: The IPC visits the Express for some reason since...well, this man's body is not there. The Nameless put Aventurine into hiding. They don't give him away or hint at anything, but the interaction is long and March isn't exactly a good actor.

Can we talk about the fact that Baiheng was a Nameless more??? WHEN?? Like it’s put in quite a few places but it’s never acknowledged except in Bailu’s line where she talks about the dreams she has while on the Express.
Like that’s such a cool But Also such a HUGE thing and yet it isn’t mentioned by any of the characters in any quests like oh my god. Maybe it’s being saved or something for a wow big reveal look at who some of the previous Nameless were of my god it’s Baiheng!! But like c’mon… no hints or vague mentions?
I dunno, I think we need to talk about it more. Like it’s right there when you go to send out assignments! They’re all affiliated with different factions and Baiheng !! Was the one quoted there they had for the Nameless!!
I need more content of her in general, the lack of it hurts my heart so much

A Review of Agency: The Progression of Stelle's Identity and Individuality
Tumblr media
This piece was honestly a long time coming, but I never had the time or words to really go very in depth about it. I'll be discussing the progression of Stelle's sense of identity throughout the story from the prologue to where we currently are. Spoilers ahead for events from 1.5!
To cut right to the chase, Stelle's sense of identity is a fragile one. From the beginning, she woke with no memories, only a very small sense of self, a name, and the weight of some constant, foreign warmth in her chest. Going along with Dan Heng and March 7th, when she had no idea of anything going on, was her only real option. It was with them that she found her first sense of identity. The Express Crew, to her, are her first family. Anything before then doesn't matter. Why would it? She doesn't remember it.
Throughout the Belobog, her sense of identity with the crew strengthened, and I'm sure that this would have been noticed by the crew too, as she settled into a comfortable confidence, settled into that natural leader role between the three who went on the expedition down to Jarilo-VI's surface. I like to think that the experiences in Belobog were the most formative for Stelle's current identity. It was here that her strange sense of pragmatism and practicality blossomed, what with her venturing into caverns and calyxes and hoarding materials. It's where she made her first true friends after joining the Express. Her sense of humor really solidified here, as did her protectiveness, her love for her companions, her selflessness, her heroism. It was on Belobog that she finally was able to say: Hi, I'm Stelle, a Nameless on the Astral Express.
All of that newly found sense of identity pretty much shattered on the Luofu. With my interpretation of Stelle, her questions followed those I chose during Kafka's one-truth-one-lie game: she asked about Blade and Dan Heng's history, and got a lie. She knew it was a lie because of what she'd already learned about the Luofu's customs and the importance of the Vidyadhara's High Elder. There was no way that he would have been an apprentice to whoever Blade was in the past. So she asked about herself.
That was a mistake.
Stelle'd always had a feeling that something was off about her, lack of memories notwithstanding. Her durability, her ability to house a Stellaron, her ability to switch between Paths so seamlessly, everything. But to have it confirmed to her, that she was artificial, that she was made to receive the Stellaron, that Kafka raised and trained her, rattled her from the inside out. She felt sick. These were the people that had abandoned her, effectively, weren't they? They stood in opposition to her family. There was still some fragment of hope that maybe -- just maybe -- Kafka had been lying, despite her promise to honor the rules of the game. All that was dashed across the pavement when Blade spoke to her, told her he remembered her.
She returned to the Express incredibly shaken, questioning everything she'd done. If she was made to receive the Stellaron, then was it truly her destiny to face Nanook? What would happen after she'd fulfilled that purpose?
...Would she just cease to exist?
It's here that Stelle's distaste for losing her agency comes out in full force, as she's still defiant of "destiny" and whatever fate Kafka says she has. She did everything she could to avoid the battles that Kafka said she'd have to deal with while Blade was incapacitated. This is another key aspect of her sense of self: Stelle is terrified of losing any sense of control over her own person. She refuses to get drunk or high, and taste testing that Flaming Potent Tea the first time, which she did out of kindness, was such a horrific experience that she never did it again. I know it's a daily mission, but Stelle would have never touched that tea again.
Returning to Belobog, saving them from the IPC, and participating in the Aetherium Wars was such a welcome reprieve for her, and she was able to find that sense of stability within herself again. Belobog truly is like a second home to her, with all the people she has befriended and grown to love.
Now we move onto 1.5, after Stelle has had a chance to recover somewhat from the revelation of her origins from Kafka.
Getting possessed by Cirrus fucked her up something fierce. Having something else (aside from the Stellaron) existing within her body? Losing control of her own voice? Being forced to say such awful things to Huohuo without any semblance of control, no matter how much she fought the possession? Awful. She felt disgusting, she -- she wanted to rip into her own body and tear Cirrus out herself, even though she knew she couldn't. Seeing the same thing happen to everyone else was nothing short of uncomfortable, and that is saying the least. Did she complain? No. Was she happy to help out? Yes. Did she even have fun at some points? Sure. But overall, the ghost hunting experience was very unpleasant for her. Everywhere she looked, the loss of agency, the corruption, only sowed more chaos and unhappiness. Plus, Fu Xuan's possession and the words she (Keralum) spoke only brought the memories of Kafka's idea of fate back into full force.
Stelle values having a sense of individuality so much as she was effectively made without any, and it's why she's fiercely protective of Dan Heng's own sense of individuality. It's going to take her a long time to recover from losing her autonomy so frequently in such a relatively short amount of time, and the idea that fate is not something that can be altered or changed is, going forward, going to be met with even more hostility than before.
Honestly, at this point, Stelle is glad to be done with the Luofu. She's grateful for the people she's met, but she signed up for exactly none of the experiences and all the turmoil and war hidden under the layers of grandeur. She lost a lot of confidence in herself and the idea of who she is as a person specifically on the Luofu, and she watched the same thing happen to Dan Heng, who is one of the most important people in the universe to her. She loves Huohuo and Sushang, but aside from them I can't exactly say she established a sense of closeness to any of the other residents. She's not very keen to return any time soon.

(warning - HSR Belobog Arc Ending Spoilers)
I know they mention it a lot in canon but like… has anyone else ever really paused and thought about all the worlds we will have to leave behind as Trailblazers? Coming and going forever, only ever being able to truly call the Express ‘Home’ but even then, the words are heavy on the tongue.
Does anyone else think about how little time they really spend there? How many trails they’ve blazed before disappearing without a trace save for the changes they’ve since left in a domino effect. Belobog took a few days for the main quest alone — perhaps two weeks if you want to include the sub-quests and story quests. And then they never go back. 700 years they’d wait — Bronya said — and it wasn’t an exaggeration.
“Dan Heng how long can humans live for?”
“…Forever. But in those situations they wouldn’t be considered human anymore.”
It’s easy to forget that we may never see those people again in that world, as they are, as they’ve become, because we as the player can always teleport back with a few clicks of a button but the characters do not get the same liberties. They have left, to never return, lest they accidentally cause more calamity.
And few of Jarilo-VI have gotten to know them by name, as anything other than “the Outsiders” or, later, “the Trailblazers”. They’re not Nameless because they have no names, they are Nameless because in the grand scheme of things; no one will recognize them by name. Only by the paths they carve and set, by the view of their backs as they set off into the stars again.
Do you think about how quickly they accept the lost onto their ship — how quickly they accept the Nameless and allow them to stay with their own? Because they are all Nameless on the express. Wonderlusters, Lost ones, confused, fearful, grieving, lonely. They accepted the Trailblazer without a second thought, extending hands that were quickly grasped in return and have yet to be let go of. They are the Nameless, they are the trailblazers, they are the lost ones, and they are each other’s family. The Express is not ‘Home’ because none of them have that anymore, but they’ve found each other and in the wake of what they’ve lost or may not have never had, they’ve got each other. They’ve forged their own trail.
Trailblazers in their name and in how they love. Only another trailblazer can truly love a trailblazer. It’s why they gravitate so closely to one another. That small part of their souls resonating with one another and bringing them solace within the vastness of the universe. Pieces of their make-up so similar and lonely and lost that they can’t help but seek out others who are the same.
I don’t know where I’m going with this, honestly, but I’m absolutely enamored with the small feeling their presences makes me feel through the Trailblazer. Platonic, Romantic, or otherwise. Storgé — Is the word for familial love apparently but not found family, so I’m not quite sure it fits. Their impact as well in the universes, beyond their relationship on the Express. It’s all beautiful but always with a touch of melancholy when you sit back to think about it rather than just quickly passing through the planets and stars. It’s lovely, and I’m hard pressed to find a universe that makes me feel so small and important all at once.
Welt said something about feeling helpless when you first step foot on the planet and see for the first time everything that goes on there… and yet I find myself feeling more powerless when I look down from above rather than up from below.
In conclusion, Star Rail is lovely so far, I’m having a great time and will continue to brainrot about this and think too much abt it constantly for a good while <3

VERSE - HONKAI STAR RAIL (INFORMATION)
Tumblr media
Path: The Hunt Weapon: Gun Element: Quantum Skill: Black Hole (Binds an opponent for two turns + causes damage) Ultimate: Caustic Destruction (Fires several shots of Black Hole before charging up a powerful shot and firing it, causing all Black Holes to detonate, inflicting a high amount of damage)
Not much is known about the boy who calls himself 'Sabata', except that he's been travelling along the broken Star Rails on his own. He doesn't claim to be from any sort of world, nor does he actually say where he is from, keeping any information about himself a mystery beyond that he's looking for his missing twin brother, whom he calls 'Django'.
Though not very talkative, Sabata does have words of wisdom that seems to make him sound more mature than his age.
