You know what’s cool about humans?

For most animals, going blind, deaf, or losing a limb might be a death sentence.

But for humans, it’s like,

“Oh, you’re blind? Have a cane, no biggie. You can hold my arm while we cross the street if you want.”

“You’re deaf? No problem! We can talk with our hands! Yay!”

“You’re blind AND deaf? It’s cool, we can talk with touch.”

“You lost a limb? That’s badass dude. Nice prosthetic btw.”

And archeological evidence suggest we’ve been doing stuff like this since the Paleolithic era. We are just SO DETERMINED to care for each other that we can survive and thrive with disabilities that would KILL other animals. And we do it with love and intelligence.

Oh god I love playing healers in games.

God there’s something about taking care of others. There’s something about choosing to be in a role that allows you to protect and care for. Something so absolutely human and love filled about people coming to you for aid, or running to someone’s side. To revive, bandage, pull back up, bring back from the dead or place a shield over. I want to scream and cry, in a situation where healing truly doesn’t matter (you can respawn, re-queue, so on) we created a role just for taking care of others.

The creation, production, and distribution of gift bags and gift boxes is cute to me. Like despite the sinister motive of mass production behind consumerism the fact that we as humans just want to get something nice to accompany a gift we got for a loved one is so Human. Like oh I got you a candle but I wanna give it to you in a cute little bag with some pretty paper just so that you see that little bit of effort and thought put into I because it’s a reflection of how much I think of you 🥹🫶🏾 this pretty box may be visually pleasing but it also reminds me of your aura, and I want you to have a little fun and excitement opening your gift cause Human Nature is to be excited about opening up a fun little box or bag to see what’s inside. And yes we could still do it the old timey ways where maybe we decorated our own box or bag but it’s still adorable that every single day, everywhere you go somewhere is a cute gift bag or box or card or wrapping paper or bow or ribbon being made and sold to be put to use to make someone feel a little better.

im going to go out on a limb and guess it's a cultural thing. dogs/cats/horses obviously exist, but they're probably seen as human animals. i guess they don't see the appeal in, say, a cat, when they can have a cat/mermaid/poison hybrid. their loss tbh </3
