(no actual pressure i just want to draw them and need ur designs for them)

okay so I dont have much actual art of them bc I have had no time to draw lately, but ill try to like summarize their vibes or give doodles at least Donnie- hes a very anxious angsty guy, is in his lab almost all of the time, always seems to look a bit sad or tired, doesnt really like other people, kind of has similar vibes and shape language to tm(n)t donnie if that helps at all, hes a hybrid spiny soft-shell turtle and spotted turtle, hes got spots on the back part of his shell like this:

and spiky bits at the bottom edges of his shell like this:

so I imagine hes like a dark green kinda grey color mostly besides the yellow spots on his shell, his hands and forearms and legs are always bandaged up and if theyre not covered he has a lot of scars from assorted causes, he usually wears either like black shorts or baggy sweatpants, sweatpants more often, on occasion a hoodie and that becomes much more frequent after the events of the shredder apprentice arc, I forgot to put them in the doodle but he has stretch marks on his thighs and upper arms and is the tallest of the guys but hunches over so much that you wouldnt know, he has scoliosis but not very severely, you can just barely tell if you look at his shell from behind that its a bit misshapen

Raph- Raph is a bog turtle, so is Mikey, this is an older drawing and isnt the most accurate but its like the only good drawing I have of him, usually he does not look anywhere near this happy, the markings around the back of his neck and on the shell are still accurate but otherwise its kinda up to interpretation so do what you will, he also wears hoodies and pants sometimes but not always, his mask tails vary in length bc he chews on them so sometimes theyre short when he doesnt want to or longer when he does want to

Mikey- Mikey is also a bog turtle, raphs markings are a bit more red and his are a bit more yellow/orange, my Mikey wears a more yellow mask than bright orange, its kinda that yellow-orange shade, I think he has freckles but theyre more like small scale patches that are darker green than real freckles, has the same neck markings and similar shell markings to raph, has either one dot above his right eye that looks like a circular eyebrow or has it on both eyes, for now I'll say just the one though, his mask tails arent as long as Leo but go to about mid-back and the ends are frayed Leo- Leo is based a lot on 2012, all of my turtles are more based on 2012 than any other iteration, his mask tails are very long like all the way down to his waist, theyre cut at diagonals like at an angle at the end and are not frayed, he has more yellow colored stripes that go over his eyes (like rise Leo a bit) but then they run down to his shoulders and down his arms, sides, and legs, and theres also shorter segments on his shoulders that are pretty much just yellow patches. He's a black knobbed map turtle, so just imagine kinda realistic stripes like theirs but stylized. When he uses his powers they glow a really intense blue color and it looks really cool. After the events of the shredder apprentice arc he has a big X scar across the back of his shell

Gets EXTREMELY ANGRY when someone (other than donnie) calls him Nardo. it’s a twin thing. get over it.

on a same but slightly different note: leo never yells. like he “yells” when he’s excited or in the middle of the fight but he NEVER gets hot-angry. he only gets cold-angry and uses the extra energy it generates to just dig at the other person. like he starts digging a hole, hands them the shovel, says “get to it asshole” and they dig their own graves.

scarily persuasive. could coax nuclear codes out of a brainwashed, lizard being, warcrime committing government official and get away with it.

transmasc with a sprinkle of extremely gay. whenever i see someone go “leo is straight >>:[[[[[” i think “have they ever even?? watched rottmnt????” cause like other iterations? totally, yeah, mans straight as fuck (or transfem but we’re not here for that rn) THIS VERSION THO? have you seen the way he stands??

splinter doesn’t play favorites but if he did it would be leo because he reminds splinter the most of himself. which also gets him the title of least favorite, but that happens with everyone. splinter ain’t special.

is. terrifyingly good at reading body language. can tell you’re lying before you even lie. is part of the reason he’s so good at getting under peoples’ skin

toxic trait #1: intentionally pokes at insecurities!! like that scene in the movie where leo pretends to not be listening when raph is spilling his damn heart out?? THAT’S A COMMON OCCURANCE. he mostly does it when he’s frustrated with how little his family trusts him. major soft spot for him. so of course he lashes out, cause that’s how the Hamato family roll.

(minor tangent: the fact that so many 2012/rise crossovers focus on how dysfunctional the 2012 fam are while glorifying and praising the rise fam just like. completely ignore the negative traits, especially with raph and leo? like mikey too, but they completely disregard raph’s lack of trust in his brothers and leo’s shitty communication skills. i have more to say about this but i’ll do that in a different post)

to the people who write fics or draw comics or even just CLAIM that leo spend days/months in the prison dimension: first of all how dare you make me feel things second of all i can only justify this alternative telling of events if leo loses his right leg or his left arm. yes it has to be one of those two specifically, if you know you know.

toxic trait #2: is actually Just That Cocky. is it partially a defense mechanism? yup. does he actually think he is god? YUP.

not explicitly amoral but would do A Lot for the sake of his brothers. like Raph and Donnie take it further than Leo would, but people would die.

became the medic of the group because of his idolization of Raph. got his first medkit when he was around eight or nine, but starting researching when he was seven. raph Really Really wanted to help patch up his brothers but his “clumsy hands” couldn’t manage the precision work his dad could do, but because of Splinter’s terrible vision (it’s a rat thing) he struggled to do it on his own. hence Leo stepping in, because Donnie was usually the one getting hurt (and also hates the smell and look of blood) and Mikey was still like, really young.

is probably chaotic neutral? might be chaotic good. i struggle with alignments but i think it works.

(mutant mayhem spoilers)

OHMIGOSH so i saw mutant mayhem two days ago, on its official opening here in the US

it was really really good and i loved it so much and ugh i could rant about it for ages. so here's a nearly 2000 word rant about it. sorry for any spelling and grammar errors

(more under the cut)

so first of all, lemme talk about the characters real quick. my favorite character continues to be donnie but all of them were really likeable in this one, and the dynamic the turtles had is amazing.

mm!leo was a very very good version of leo, staying relatively close to older versions of leo but having some of the more fun traits that leo has had recently in tmnt media (for example, he was willing to do some things with his brothers, even if they went against splinter. even if he felt bad about it.) he was funny and cool, really bringing it all together. nicolas cantu (that how you spell his name? idk) did a great job as his voice as well, he pretty much perfectly illustrated all the emotions he needed to for leo throughout the whole movie. the only thing i didn't like about leo was the fact that he had a crush on april, but that's mostly a me thing because i've never been a fan of the turtle x april ships, they're just uncomfortable for me. they played it off pretty well though.

mm!mikey was really enjoyable for a character who is generally a little bit hit-or-miss for his moments. it was really a hit for all of the times he was on screen or talked which i'm very glad about. i a little wish that the movie focused even more on mikey, but maybe the series/sequel will. he was funny and not nearly as gross as some previous iterations were (ahem 2012) and it was just a really fun time with him. he was pretty much the best parts of all of my favorite versions of mikey all put in one. shamon brown jr also did an amazing job with him!!!!! he's a really good voice actor and he was pretty much perfect for mikey. and yeah, one thing i think they could've done better is just giving him more screen time and focus i think?

mm!raph was really great. you could tell that he was definitely raph but he wasn't super aggressive or hard to talk to. he was funny and there were plenty of moments that made me laugh with him. even though the movie didn't go terribly far into all the characters, you could tell that he definitely has a soft spot for his brothers and for splinter as well. seeing him as a turtle tot was amazing as well by the way, he looked like a cinderblock. and yeah, you bet i gotta bring up brady noon, who was amazing for raph. (really, casting all teenagers for the teenage mutant ninja turtles was a great casting choice on all levels.) even though he was this kinda aggressive guy, you can tell that he has dreams and he has people he cares about. it was really great to see for raph.

and of course i gotta talk about my favorite little guy. mm!donnie was SOO GOOd and like my favorite from the whole movie, he was really fussing great. his design is so good just because they really incorporated the tech stuff into his design, and the stickers on his bō were a nice touch. one thing i wish they would've shown more of is stuff that donnie made himself, y'know? donnie's original tech is usually kinda pushed to the front in tmnt which is great, i love seeing donnie tech. but the main thing donnie did in this movie is fight with his regular bō and use his phone and drive a car or something? i hope we get to see his tech in the future. also, micah abbey did such an amazing job at him@!!1 i mean i really enjoyed how he had a higher voice which is NORMAL for teenage boys, like people's voices change at different rates. he sounded great!! i am sad we didn't get to see more scooter action with him though

april i sure have thoughts about. i mean the thoughts are all positive. she was such a good april and an amazing addition to the cast. first of all, i am strong supporter in her design. sure am a big fan of the non-white aprils. a lot of fans didn't like her design for whatever reason?? some of them didn't like that she's not white and others had issues with her body shape, which is stupid. she's a teenage human, there's no reason to give her the "perfect" adult woman's body (in their eyes anyway) when she's meant to just kinda be this a little average but nonetheless badass ally to the turtles. her personality was great, she felt like a real teenager. her arc of getting (mostly) over her camera sensitivity was really nice, and i appreciate that she wasn't totally over it by the end. ayo edebiri was a really great cast for her as well. (also, i'm glad that even though she agreed to go to prom with leo, it seems like she still sees him purely platonically. i will NOT stand for another 2012 donnie and april situation.)

anyway, splinter, amiright? it's interesting how they went with the route that he was originally a rat. he was a really good character and one of my favorite versions of splinter now. he really was just trying to be a good father to these turtles in this weird little family situation, and i can't blame him for being so overprotective of them when he was made to be a monster in times square by mrbeast. jackie chan was a great choice to play him. (i don't support what jackie chan did to his daughter though btw.) the fact that he learned martial arts through old tapes, new movies and fussing youtube (a video of a channel i watch was in it by the way????) is amazing.

okay now all the other characters were really cool too. all the mutants that baxter stockman created were really interesting and it's great how they brought back so many existing characters while adding new ones. bebop and rocksteady were actually funny which i don't really expect from bebop and rocksteady most of the time to be honest. superfly was actually really scary for being this kids movie villain, which i guess isn't very surprising for tmnt. he got away with kinda a surprising amount of swearing for it though, a whole lot of instances of "damn" and stuff. mondo gecko was very fun and i was actually a bit scared when mikey found his tail. cynthia utrom didn't play as big a part in this movie as i expected her to but she will definitely be a bigger part in the future, especially considering that she's obviously meant to be an utrom. (and oh my god that end scene??? but i'll get into that later) i sure was a big fan of superfly's family turning on him for the benefit of humanity (and the chance of living with the turtles and splinter.) the voice cast was great for all the side characters. i think it's really cool that the main cast (as in the turtles and april) were all voiced by younger, less well-known actors while the side cast and villains were all played by the much better-known actors.

anyway onto the art, IT WAS AMAZING AAAAHHH as an artist this was on fussing spider-verse levels of art and animation. it looked like teenagers helped design it, which is what they were going for. the movement looked great and SOO natural, aahh!! the fight choreo was amazing too, there was that one scene where they were trying to find info about superfly was so well put together. there really were a few stand-out moments but all of it was so good. i love it when the ninja turtles actually use their weapons as they should be, which has happened in the past but it was so clear that they did their research here. also i'm glad that jeff rowe and seth rogen said that they ensured that the animators weren't being mistreated or overworked.

anywho, the music amiright? the soundtrack being based on NYC-based rap and hip hop was a really great choice. that one song that goes "can i kick it, yes you can" was a great choice for the main title-y thing of that movie. it hit all the places it needed to.

some other notes i wanna bring up:

the stakes were real my guys. at multiple points, i felt such genuine fear for these fictional mutant turtles in my heart i thought i would have a stroke or something. for example, when cynthia just kept shocking them??? are they not aware of the damage that like father like son did to ninja turtles fans???? also when superfly just had them in his hands and you could HEAR their shells crunching a little bit. UGH that hurt me fr. it felt so so real and it was so so good.

the fact that the cardboard cutouts that splinter acquired were chris hemsworth, chris pine and chris pratt lmao

are any of the characters autistic? i was thinking about this and to be honest i think yes, some of them probably are autistic. but it's not as clear as it is in rise, especially with donnie, y'know?

about the pop culture references and memes that they used didn't actually feel dated or cringe to me. i've heard others complaining about that but it didn't bother me much, it felt how teenagers actually talk. (i'm a teenager btw, i'm pretty used to how we talk.)

making leo have a crush on a girl after rise!leo lmao

but speaking of leo having a crush on april, there is more i wanna say. so i do not ship them, i've never shipped any of the turtles with april. it just don't sit right with me. but i think they still have the opportunity to play it off with elegance and grace, by having april straight up refuse him when he's honest with her about how he feels. hoping that will happen at some point. i've been asked to dances and stuff by friends, i hope that's why april said yes to him asking her to prom at the end. i will find seth rogen if they put leo and april together in the end. (for legal reasons this is a joke.) but yeah.

and the end scene???? oh god what do you guys gonna think shredder's gonna be like in mm???? because as much as i like the pretty goofy side of shredder that we've seen in the past (like '87 shredder was so silly compared to 2012 or god forbid rise shredder), i would love to see a really just horrifying version of shredder that they would actually maybe kill off in the end? and then there's another sequel where leo has to grapple with his own conflicted feelings about killing shredder or something. that would be so real lmao

i'm really looking forward to the future of mutant mayhem, even though i still want more rise!! and also we must keep showing support for the wga/sag-aftra strike, even though it's gonna delay production on the next parts of the series.

it was a great movie though and a great use of one hour and thirty nine minutes.

Current Villans/Antagonists List

I thought it would be interesting to list the villains in my iterations. Several are gonna be from previous iterations, there will be a few OC’s but they are limited and are based off of groups or concepts of past shows/iterations. (This gets long, 20 characters/organizations)

Shredder/Oroku Saki (all iterations): heir to the Foot clan, he was taken as a young baby by the leader of the Hamato clan after the Foot clan was destroyed and leaders killed. He found out his past and decided to avenge his fallen clan, rebuilding it and making it his mission to kill every Hamato clan member, even his adopted family.

Karai (most iterations): twin of Miwa, the adopted daughter of Oroku Saki, she has complete and unwavering faith in her father and his mission (right? yeah... right)

Miwa (Karai's alternative name in 2012): twin of Karai, the adopted daughter of Oroku Saki, the more fun twin of the two, less honorable but would follow her sister to the ends of the Earth (and beyond)

The Foot Clan (all iterations): members of the old Foot clan that survived, or family members of those killed came together to follow Shredder, seeking revenge

Tigerclaw (2012): an assassin that was raised in the Foot clan from birth. He was mutated during a fight with the turtles and Krang.

The Krang (most iterations): From Dimension X (inspo from 80′s and 2012), they’re trying to take over the Earth and mutate everything to make it more habitable for themselves. Hivemind with a giant powerful version and smaller versions. Mostly like 2012 but they don’t talk weird and have several different human disguises.

The Purple Dragons (all iterations): Giant gang that has been slowly taking over NYC. Didn’t really appreciate Shredder coming in like that with his ninja’s and all, but find it difficult to win fights against them. Once they realized they had a common enemy (the turtles), they decided to work together on the occasion.

Hun (found in 2003 and 2012): leader of the purple dragons. He’s transmasc and has a soft spot for genderqueer kids, including Leo (and later Donnie), but the turtles are still on his to kill list.

Right (OC): right hand woman for Hun, her inspiration is Harley Quinn. She’s very agile and fast. Right is just a nickname

Left (OC): left hand man for Hun. He’s a silent muscle type, looks a bit like 2003 Hun. Left is just a nickname

Bebop and Rocksteady (most iterations): Purple Dragon goons that are “best friends” (Iknowwhatyouare) who got mutated alongside Tigerclaw during a fight between the turtles and Krang (I have more details about them that I may share later)

Hobs (IDW comics): an old guy that worked in the Purple Dragons until he was mutated into a cat, then he ran off along side other PD members and started his own gang. Hates everyone and everything

Battle Nexus Owner (sorta OC, concept from 2003 and Rise of the tmnt): obsessed with watching fights, collects and traps warriors in a hidden dimension. The Battle Nexus dimension will be explained in another post.

John Doe (OC): a triceraton trapped in the Battle Nexus (you will get more information if I ever get to that arch)

The Triceratons (most iterations): Some good, some bad, some neutral. A big chunk of them are at war with the Krang and are trying to take over whole universe faster than them. Leader and right hand man have yet to have a name or full backstory.

Baxter Stockman (all iterations): genius scientist who often switches sides from the Purple Dragons and the Foot clan. His reputation was ruined after it was revealed his mousers were being used to commit crimes (have yet to come up with the full story), he blames the turtles for this so he is always against them.

Baron Draxum (Rise of the tmnt): Worked with the Purple Dragons, used to be a body guard until he proved to be very smart and they made him a gang scientist. Whenever Baxter Stockman works with them, they are forced to team up but they never liked each other. Ends up getting mutated

Bishop (2003, 2012, possible rottmnt): government agent that thinks the turtles are evil, though can’t tell what they are. He hunts them down to learn more about them

The Rat King (most iterations): got into a horrible lab accident while experimenting with rats and neurological stuff. Once he realized he can control and communicate with rats, he used them to commit petty crimes

The United (based off of 2003 organization from Honeycutt’s universe): an oppressive government from Professor Honeycutt’s universe. Leader and right hand woman have yet to be named or given proper backstories

I think that’s all for now, I know this was a long read but it’s just a bit of information. I may repeat it in posts purely about them, and I’ll definitely draw all of these characters at some point but you gotta give me time on that

Mind sharing your favorite and least favorite turtle from each of the tmnt iterations you'e seen + why??

Generally Don and Raph have always been my favorites. I favored Raph more in 87 and 2003, then Donnie moved to take his first place spot in 2012. Looking back I was kind of an angry child, which is probably why I identified with Raph.

But it's always been them at 1 and 2, then Leo in the 3rd place spot, and Mikey my least favorite. I just found Leo the least interesting one-I mean, he has moments, but Donnie and Raph are cooler. I'm kinda 'meh' on 87 and 2003 Mikeys. I fucking hate 2012 Mikey. He's cute and everything and I can logically understand the appeal, but holy fuck does he hit every 'annoying younger sibling' nerve in me. Not even Greg Cipes, my beloved Beast Boy, could save him. And yes, I am an oldest sibling. I get along very well with my sister. Now.

Donnie is again my favorite in Rise, (I mean, how can he not be? Look at him!) but Leo is now in that number two spot. I definitely went into Rise worried about the change in dynamic, but holy shit I think not keeping him the leader was the single best thing they could have done for his character. It gave him room to be his own character outside of hero boy and, ironically, develop the skills he'd need to be a good leader. And a red-eared slider was such a good choice for him, I cannot praise the crew enough for the decision to make them all different turtles.

Raph is incredible in Rise. He's number three purely because the twins are just that fucking awesome, he'd be my favorite if this were any other iteration. I love that they turned the 'asshole with a soft side' into a gentle giant of a teddy bear. I love that he still struggles with his anger like other Raphs do, that the main difference is in how Raph chooses to deal with it.

And Mikey's just a star. Like Leo, I think the decision to make him the emotionally-intelligent member instead of the comic relief was exactly what he needed. He still feels like a youngest child, but the kind I want to snuggle and protect. I mean, this...might have something to do with how I get along with my sister better, now that I think about it. Goddammit, I've already projected my daddy issues all over the fic, now this?

The Rise characters are all my favorite iterations, honestly. Including April and Casey. And Second Casey. I don't think I could choose between Rise and 2012 Splinter, however. I love 2012 Splinter, but Rise Splinter feels like a real dad. Like, I've met parents who act like him. I could not imagine going to a friend's house and meeting 2012 Splinter, but I could totally imagine Rise Splinter being there raiding the fridge in his underwear before roasting his kid just to embarrass them in front of their friend.

I have a different ship for every iteration, so working backward of the ones I know is:

2018 leotello bc I just love them. Two smart people come together to make a whole idiot. Also just. Twins. It gets to me. My OTP. Rise leotello owns my soul.

Bayverse ot4 because. Because. I don't know man, they're all just. So adhd. They're all just a mood and I just cannot see it happening any other way.

2012 ot4 because of that one post you made about Leo falling in love with his brothers. Also because it just feels like he could never love any of his brothers more than the others. Idk, I just think it works. But leo/Casey Jones is cute in this iteration too.

2007 tbh? I'm torn. I love Leotello. I love leoraph. I love leomikey. I love ot4. Anything works here. Honestly, I just like him coming back and having to deal with them kinda moving on without him and struggling to get back into their good graces.

2003 leomikey. Ngl this is kinda bc I hardcore ship raphtello in this iteration but I also just like leomikey in this iteration. Leo needs to fucking relax, honestly, but also I love when he has that moment of "oh, hes not just the baby sibling, is he?"

So yeah.

leotello! my url. i am a sucker for twincest, apparently even if they arent even canon twins. there's just that "other half" thing that i find so romantic. and twin telepathy! the way they understand each other so well. mmm such romantic tropes

i dont ship anything in bayverse, but that is cute. i feel like if they got into a relationship it would be all of them.

and YES, god ot4 with leo falling in love with them is SO close to my heart. leo is the incest king and i just cant imagine him not falling deeply in love with his family.

03 leomikey is SO good, dude i was just talking to PF on twitter about this. leo has a soft spot for mikey, canonically. watch grudge match--leo lets mikey get away with things that raph and donnie cant do. mikey also defends him to raph and donnie and points out everything he does for them, where raph and donnie didnt even seem to notice or realize. mikey appreciates leo in a way raph & donnie don't. which is not to diss them or anything, i know they love leo with their entire souls. all three of them do. but they're obviously less aware of how hard leo works for them. mikey is consciously aware of the fact that he can goof around all day like a normal teen because of leo. i also hc leo as the subbiest sub in the house and mikey as the dommiest dom... so yknow. its a good match.

and mm 03 raphdon is good shit. theyre such stupid sappy idiots in love, but also fucking horny.

You did an amazing job with Coming Right On Back For You. The decision to age up the 2012 gang set everything up so perfectly. I really think the Rise!Turtles strength is in their, sorta, unquestioned bond, and so contrasting that with 2012!Turtles who have been through so much shit, and, like Mikey says, no longer take their family bond for granted? Chef kiss. So so so good. You, as always, knocked the sibling dynamics right out of the park. Its one of my favorite things about reading what you write no matter the fandom. The Leos interacting added five years onto my lifespan, and the moment when Rise!Leo finally breaks bc of the invasion and 2012!Leo reassures him by saying what he needed to hear when he was going through that? Beautiful. Made me tear up. As always, you are a god among fic writers and I adore your stuff (especially multi chapts! Your longform style is so well put together) no matter what fandom you’re writing for.

i have such a soft spot for the 2012 turtles and a lot of the 12/18 crossovers i’ve found so far paint them in sort of a negative light? or not so much negative as “these kids need HELP” which is fair. but the 2012 turtles loved each other every bit as much as all the other iterations did and i think when they got older and they had a chance to heal and put all their ghosts to bed, they would settle into a more comfy dynamic

i absolutely adore the rise brothers and how they’re as much best friends with each other as they are worst enemies annoying siblings, and i think the grown-up 2012 turtles would be fond of them too (if maybe a little wistful for a childhood they didn’t get to have)

and giving 12!leo a chance to be kind to a younger version of himself was lowkey my reason for writing the entire thing :’)

This has probably been said before but…

God I love Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Like, if you put a gun to my head and said “you need to either pick 2012 or Rise” (I’ve only seen those two (and 2014 and Mutant Mayhem but forget about those real quick) I’d probably say 2012 but I love the idea of Rise ESPECIALLY when it comes to Leo, Raph and the leadership dynamic.

I feel like people hate it because it’s so different to the other iterations but it’s BECAUSE it’s different that I find very enticing, and it shows that the creators really KNOW these characters BECAUSE they twist them up and shake them until they’re scrambled or something like that

To the most surface level interpretation, Leo is just the leader guy and Raph is just the angry one but in RISE this is different, and it’s different because the roles have switched.

In the other iterations (at least from the ones I’ve seen I’m gonna watch older iterations promise) Leo is the leader, so he has to be more responsible, I guess. He is still at least a little silly, but he’s gotta lock in to training or whatevs.

And then in the other corner is Raph who is “the angry one”. Short fuse, quick to anger, but also he does care about things and especially has a soft spot in 2012 to Spike and Chompy. He is not the leader, he wants to be, but isn’t. Average leadership… debate? (I’m not very eloquent I fear. I talked about this for like 30 minutes to the wall and then was like “WRITE THAT DOWN WRITE THAT DOWN. Anyways.)

And then the creators of RISE are like “okay then. Here you go Raph, you’re the leader now! You can be the oldest this time!” And this changes the game and the whole dynamic of the show and more importantly, Leo and Raph.

Leo doesn’t have those responsibilities anymore (until the movie though lolsies 💀 but you wanna know what, that can add to my point.) and so he can finally be the silly he was always meant to be.

And then because Raph is the leader, he can’t really be the angry guy we know. I mean, he can be. But when you’re the eldest, and responsible for younger siblings at all much less THREE of them, you can’t be so quick to anger. You can’t have a short fuse when you’re the person three whole people look up to (insert “ha ha ha LITERALLY am I right” cause bro is a whole UNIT.)

FOLLOWS/FOLLOW-BACKS

At least to start, I’m going to be fairly selective about who I follow/follow-back. However, if I have a clear understanding of your character and/or fandom, chances are I will eventually follow you back.

Even if I don’t follow you right away, please don’t be afraid to interact with me. The more we play together, the more chance there is I will follow you back.

There are several reasons I may end up not following someone. But the biggest one is obsessive posting of NSFW images or gifs. Often I am online at work and well, I just can’t have dicks all over my dash. Sorry.

THREADS/STARTERS/PLOTTING

I’ve tried doing starters for new followers in the past and it just never ended up well. They tend to get repetitive after a while and more often than not are lost on the dash. However, I will respond to any starters I am tagged in.

I am always open to plotting. Always. So if you have an idea (or even 11% of an idea), drop by my askbox and we’ll hash it out.

RESPONSE TIME

I run several other rp blogs (in multiple fandoms), so if I don’t reply right away, chances are I am logged in to one of them. I swear I am not ignoring you. Promise.

If it’s been a week or more, feel free to poke me. That way we know it’s just me being slow and not tumblr eating notices.

MUSE PORTRAYALS

While Hally is a new addition this time around, Elbie is a character I first played on LiveJournal way back in 2012. I then brought her over to tumblr where she had two different iterations. I am now rebooting her for a third time (and adding Hally...making this a multi).

Obviously OC children are not everyone’s cup of tea; I am not going to force anyone to interact with Elbie. Or Hally, really, despite her being a canon muse. However, if you do choose to give the two of them a chance, you might just find yourself becoming my new best friend.

A lot of the girls' siblings/friends are leftovers from my LJ days and all of them are negotiable/changeable/open to other people playing them. So please, feel free to approach me and ask.

Also, please do not take anything my babies say IC personally.

After seeing you reblog the glados design post may I ask which ones are your favorite (mine are probably the old lady and any more robotic leaning designs but I have a soft spot for Caroline based ones)

short answer; i dont have one, each one has aspects i love about them and generally i just like seeing everyones takes on her (which, having lived through the "skinny attractive lady with a karen cut or anime mmd model and no in between" era, is a breath of fresh air)

long answer;

Karen - i lived through the 2012 - 2016 era where you either got this or the anime one so im a little. worn out on this one. put some damn crows feet and laugh lines on that woman or so help me god

i will say i enjoy the chassis dress (i saw a rlly cool take where the dress WAS the chassis, so when wheatley takes it over, HE gets the dress) and i think this design deserves points for being extraordinarily cosplay friendly :)

Old lady - love love love it. old ass woman like she should be (not just bc of her VA, but bc considering the timeline of events caroline would be pushing middle age when cave dies !). i love the lab coat bc... duh, right? she loves science. shes literally doing tests. it makes her seem so.. human, to see a greying woman not in some elegant metal dress but just... a coat. SO good and bonus points if u put her in old lady slippers

caroline - gives me the impression that glados was built around carolines body, the same way one would patch a jacket with other fabrics or a wall with spackle and new paint... i also just go wild for anything caroline ever, so ofc im a fan of her having ANY influence on a glados design. i do have a bone to pick though because once again; caroline would not look the way she did in her portrait by the time she would be put into glados. HOWEVER, something CAN be said of the concept of the scientists making an effigy of caroline not as she IS, but as she was when she was young and palatable and went along with the horrors of aperture during the companys glory days. i still think its best to strike a balance between Old Lady and Caroline (But Robot)

Anime - on one hand, nostalgia for when i was like 8 and watched portal mmd videos all the time. on the other hand, if you design glados like this i assume you know her from meme culture and little else. anime glados is like the pug of glados designs like stop it she cant breath it was already cute and loveable before youre hurting her !!!!

Object Head - its really all it needs to be! its glados at her core (lol) just with arms and legs! i like when its paired with her in the chair chassis bc it seems so oddly threatening AND also realistic (which makes no sense except to me<3)

Humanoid robot - once again, its all it really needs to be. glados but she grabs shit (with more robot this time)

Beast - this is the newest iteration and i LOVE IT MAKE HER FUCKED UP AND WILD HELL YEAH!!!!!!!!

Chair chassis is cool bc i like the concept of it as a throne she occupies, but wires are also cool because it ties back to that whole thing about her supposedly looking like a woman tied up. the wires make it look like shes literally tied to the facility, chained to it even. the integrated chassis is awesome bc i say so idk it just looks neat

anything that emphasizes her singular optic is amazing to me. makes her look more like herself while also showing a very direct representation of the dichotimy between her humanity and her lackthereof (barring the eyepatch bc like. eyepatches do not imply inhumaness. the eyepatch imo makes me think of a literal injury she sustained becoming glados and therefore represents the scars on her psyche from the whole ordeal. or maybe it just looks neat audbdjjff)

TSS Predictions: 2022 Grammys

We're finally approaching the day of the rescheduled 2022 Grammy ceremony!

While Taylor’s attendance at the ceremony itself is sadly doubtful in my eyes (despite the AOTY nom for evermore), I wanted to honour the day with a predictions post if she indeed deigns to show up.

There are obviously many directions she could go, given the amount of content she released in 2020-2021.

An homage to the material nominated that night with a cottagecore, forested look for evermore?

A scarlet gown to honour the success of RED (TV)?

A fashionable Easter Egg to more clearly hint at which re-recorded album is indeed next?

A mix or none of the above because her fashion historically has not always correlated so obviously with the body of work she’s promoting at the time?

So many questions we probably won't get the answers to. But that’s part of what makes predictions and guesswork and imagining wildest dreams of things so fun.

Here we go!

Monique Lhuillier Fall 2022 - Consider this picking up where the 2021 Grammys left off. It has the soft, nature-infused whimsy of that folklore-ian lewk but elevates it slightly with a full-length hem and a bow at the neck. I can imagine an elaborate braided updo as a nod to the single plait on the cover of evermore but with dark stained berry lips and relatively bare eyes to add a slightly edgy feeling of romance to the look. I’d finish with satin burgundy pumps and more modern ear crawlers.

Christian Siriano Pre-Fall 2022 - Splitting the difference between RED and 1989 with this spicy red co-ord pant set. I don’t think this lewk needs more than some red lipstick and black diamond or hammered larger statement earring and ring stacks. For hair styling I can see two directions of either polished city slick or a more edgy/tousled laidback feel. Pin-straight glossy shiny hair or alternatively a texturized/mussed wave would accomplish either of these things.

Rodarte Spring 2020 - This feels like a nice nod to her very iconic 2014 Met Gala OdlR appearance but combining even more vintage sentiments that reference the original RED (2012) era. As Taylor has continued to cement herself as an unshakeable giant of the industry, this feels like a timeless way to solidify her icon status. Old Hollywood waves would be great here. [Note: Since this post was originally written in January 2022, Saniyya Sidney has worn this exact Rodarte pick to the Critics Choice Awards]

Zuhair Murad Pre-Fall 2022 - Having offered up a sweet spot between RED and 1989, here’s a middle ground between RED and evermore. The nature-focused embellishments and that belt, while totally optional, give me vague cottagecore vibes which would totally work for the latest iteration of her style. Even her current relatively unfussy pandemic waves feel appropriate here, just with a bit more shape. I’d also love to see a red lip stain, softly mottled - like she’s had a glass of wine. Diamond stud earrings and somewhat glossy brown shadow would be great to add dimension.
