i can't stop thinking about the first episode of season 6, when sam tries to convince dean to come with him, to come back to hunting. he says "it's just better with you around, that's all." it's an interesting line because sam is soulless, obviously. and even though he doesn't understand the details yet, he knows something's wrong with him.

"it's better with you around" he says, citing dean's compassion and care for others as the reason why. and how interesting is that? sam's working with plenty of other hunters who still have their souls—they're all more than capable of caring about the people they save. but sam needs dean specifically. he knows he's missing something, and he sees dean and recognizes that something in him. even cold and calculating and unrelentingly logical, sam recognizes that dean, alone, can "complete" him, give something back to him that he's supposed to have.

in episode 8 he tells dean he "needs his help." he doesn't elaborate; he never explains what he means by that. he has a whole family of hunters who'd be willing and able to help him, but still he needs dean. even without his soul, his hyperrational mind knows he needs him.

soulless sam isn't capable of caring about dean. but he doesn't need to care to know they need to be together, no matter what—to know dean is good for him, dean completes him, dean needs to be there for him.

it's like a sick reversal of season 1. sam drags dean back into this life because he can't keep going without him. because he needs him. because when you think about it logically, and sam has no other choice, there was never any other option for them.

I live for when these unexpected little things happen. Okay, so I forget to loop the song I had picked to listen to on Youtube, and it ends up auto-playing to a live performance of a song. So I peek over, and I see the outfit that she's wearing. High-waist trousers, and that shirt, mostly tucked in as it is, with its sleeves rolled up just like that? It's a bit of that old-school romantic aesthetic, it exudes a certain old-fashioned femininity, it's quite timeless in its simplicity, and classy despite a rather relaxed fit. This is something that I see Kafka wearing during her downtime, and especially within the comforts of the Stellaron Hunter HQ/complex, and exactly in that color-scheme as well: darker in the legs, lighter in the upper body. It's simple, there might be the ever-enduring presence of that single earring (pearl), a thin bracelet at most but even that I'm hesitant about, and while she'd be void of any sort of necklace, you could smell the fragrance of that signature Black Opium as always.

#misc: Cas Rambles #anyways I bleached my hair 5 times #I KNOW THAT SOUNDS BAD BUT IT WAS NOT ALL OVER EVERY TIME AFKSKFASF #i had lightened ends from using a hi lift color as my primary color for a few months #so i bleached all over to match the ends #then i bleached all over again a month later which was yesterday #then i reprocessed the one side because i took it off too soon lmao that was my bad #then i did spot treatment of just some orangey bits and stayed away from the blonde white sections and my ends entirely #and then i spot treated today just to hit some roots that evaded me #and then i toned it and HOLY CRAP I WAS LIGHT ENOUGH TO USE T18 #also my hair is fine its not even that dry #i had zero breakage like at all and my hair still looks and feels really lovely somehow #im shocked lmao #i switched shampoos a few years ago to a sulfate free one called Hask #so im gonna blame the health of my hair on that cuz she would NOT have withstood what i threw at her before #anyways it looks so good and im leaving my face frame/bang pieces out to dye jet black and live an e-girl fantasy #hair #hair bleaching #diy hair #cost me like 60 bucks to get all i needed but i did have 30 vol developer from dyeing my hair using hi color hi lift for a while #and ofc i had bowls and brushes but those are the cheap bits to get lmao #brad mondo #i guess lmao
