was inspired by this post to design some hlvrai warrior cats!! i'm honestly shocked it took me 2 years to make a warriors au for it, i love making warriors aus...

some basic info below the cut!

sooo my general idea (it's pretty hazy right now. forgive me) for this au is that songfoot (benrey), nectarbrook (darnold), goldenberry (tommy), galeheart (coomer), scorchtail (bubby), and snakestar (gman) are all from the same clan... i'm between plain ol' thunderclan or a custom clan called mesaclan. i'm probably gonna go with thunderclan because i don't wanna bother with making other clans and lore and stuff LOL. there's some kind of threat outside of the clans that's affecting the environment a la the beavers in arc 4. it's something that starclan definitely caused, whether deliberately or accidentally, i dunno. main point is that snakestar sends songfoot, nectarbrook, goldenberry, galeheart, and scorchtail off on a journey to track down the problem and take care of it. while they're gone, the external threat kills snakestar and he spends all his time being a textbook unhelpful and cryptic starclan cat who just kind of makes things worse. as per a snakestar prophecy, the gang picks up gordon along the way, a kittypet whose owners abandoned her and she's been mostly unsuccessfully fending for herself since. oh and frostpaw (forzen) is part of bloodclan. bloodclan tries and fails to kill the gang, despite frostpaw's best efforts (he kidnapped goldenberry's bird friend, sunny).

some lil character facts and such:

gordon is an ex kittypet. she had a very very cozy and spoiled life up until her twolegs got evicted or something and tossed her out onto the streets. she wasn't out there long before the clan cats found her, and thank god for that, because she sucks at being a survivalist. she is fairly smart though, bringing a fresh perspective and problem solving skills to the group. she is consistently freaked the fuck out by clan cat culture, and the clan cats have fun gaslighting her about it. the only cat who doesn't play along with that is goldenberry, mostly because he doesn't really think its that funny. gordon picks up survival skills from the clan cats fairly quickly, but they still call her soft all the time. classic clan cat anti-kittypet prejudice.

songfoot is the warrior code's biggest fan. not because he really fully believes in its utility, mostly because he loves bossing people around. you can find him stalking around thunderclan camp looking out for anyone doing minor infractions. god forbid you take too much fresh kill from the pile, you'll never hear the end of it. he can't really do much about it though, because snakestar finds him vaguely offputting. his signature stare doesn't help much. his fellow warriors generally like him despite all his strange quirks. songfoot has some kind of starclan-given power a la The Three... my thought is that his vocalizations have supernatural mind-altering properties. it's kinda like sweet voice, but a hiss can make others mad, a purr can make others calm, a screech can stun them, etc. without fail. he's vaguely aware of this power, and he doesn't really use it for things starclan would like him to. he kinda does his own thing.

he's a fairly competent hunter and fighter, but he's generally physically non-confrontational. during battle, he prefers to slink along in the shadows and wait to strike.

during the journey, he loves following gordon along. initially it's because of his deeply embedded distrust of kittypets, but he realizes pretty quickly that he's interested in her in a different sense, one that really frustrates and confuses him... a warrior shouldn't wanna be mates with a kittypet. that's so beyond wrong. he's gotta do everything he can to annoy gordon into leaving the group so he doesn't have to confront his feelings about her (one of these tactics involves him insisting on calling her "gordie," saying it sounds much more suitable for a kittypet). unfortunately for the both of them, that doesn't work. what's worse-- his powers don't seem to work on her for whatever reason. they continue to butt heads for far too long before either of them opens up about how they actually feel. (it takes gordon far longer to admit to herself that she's feeling that way than it does for songfoot, but eventually it clicks for her.)

("song" comes from sweet voice, and "foot" comes from... y'know. but i imagine the in-universe explanation is that he spends a lot of time padding around and watching people. the name from the post that inspired this one-- sweetsong-- is perfect but i didn't wanna copy it. i really like the name songfoot though, i think it's really cute.)

nectarbrook is thunderclan's beloved medicine cat. sweet and silly, she has an affinity for collecting and mixing herbs to create new tinctures. they don't always work exactly how she wants them to, but they never have strictly negative effects, so... not too bad! she spends most of her time on the journey trying and failing to be a mediator, and cowering in fear while everyone else does the scary (and often stupid) work. she's got an intelligence to rival gordon's, and she's one of the only cats gordon fully gets along with.

("nectar" is about the closest warrior cats prefix to "soda," and "brook" just kinda sounds nice as a suffix to nectar. it's another liquid-related word too.)

frostpaw is a bloodclan apprentice. he's well beyond apprentice age, but he's pretty incompetent at warrior duties and such, so it's taking him a while. he just wants to graduate.

i imagine he used to be a cushy kittypet with dreams of being one of those cool cat gang members he sees outside every now and again. he's way in over his head.

("frost" comes from forzen. obviously. i initially envisioned him as a warrior named frostjaw. i don't know why i chose that suffix other than it sounding nice. but then i remembered the "i just wanna graduate" thing, and thought it would be funny to make him an apprentice.)

goldenberry is a highly skilled warrior and one of snakestar's kits. he has a very unassuming demeanor, often appearing clumsy or head-in-the-clouds, but he's one of thunderclan's most precise and deadly fighters. his long windclan-like limbs allow for quick movement. like his father, he strikes like a snake. despite his prowess, he doesn't like fighting at all, and he would much rather hang around camp with his friend songfoot and take care of menial tasks like an apprentice or test out new herb tinctures for nectarbrook. he's very helpful and kind, if not a bit blunt. before snakestar died, he had goldenberry in mind as the next deputy as soon as galeheart finally kicked the bucket. he only didn't make him the deputy in the first place because he was an apprentice at the time.

("golden" comes from tommy's signature yellow, as well as his father's perception of him as highly important. "berry" comes from his general sillyness and his affinity for nectarbrook's various little treats.)

galeheart is a gregarious senior warrior and thunderclan's beloved deputy. despite his small stature, he's incredibly strong and overzealous. he loves his clan to death and he loves fighting even more, often dragging everyone into unnecessary squabbles just for the thrill of it. his loud, booming voice commands everyone's attention. he's quite old and really should be in the elders' den at this point, but his love for the warrior life keeps him going despite it all, and he's still in great shape. snakestar isn't quite so satisfied with galeheart's behavior, but there's not much he can do about that, given everyone else loves galeheart to bits. snakestar partially send him on that journey in hopes he would die already, but he has an unwavering spirit and he can and will outlive snakestar.

galeheart and gordon get along for the most part, but gordon is a little scared of him.

("gale" comes from coomer's general energy. he is a strong gust of wind to me. it also brings to mind the color white, which... is what galeheart is! "heart" also comes from his Vibes, mostly his fighting spirit.)

scorchtail is yet another old coot who should be getting ticks picked off of him by apprentices, but his stubbornness keeps him in his warrior position. he's not even particularly good at being a warrior-- he's cowardly and his battle strategy can best be described as the real life version of button-mashing. still, he's far too prideful to retire to the elders' den. he tends to follow galeheart around, since they grew up together and share similar positions in the clan. he's very antagonistic towards gordon, even moreso than songfoot. he has a special hatred of kittypets, seeing their lifestyle as an embarrassment.

("scorch" comes from bubby's association with fire as well as his sassy disposition, and "tail" comes from the tip of his tail looking burnt.)

snakestar is a starclan cat who was previously thunderclan's leader. he's generally cold and and analytical, and not much of a fighter, preferring to make others do his bidding. this behavior carried over very well to starclan, where he spends all his time being appropriately cryptic and unhelpful. he holds a lot of love for his one son, goldenberry, who he's always watching over. he doesn't care much for his other previous clanmates. he visits gordon in her dreams often to tell her vague things about her "part to play" and how important she is and all that. he arbitrarily decided that she was the subject of a prophecy, for the most part. i like to think starclan just makes shit up for fun. i think maybe one of his ancestors visited gordon when she was a kitten and made some kind of deal with her. i dunno. i'm in the very early stages of this au.

("snake" comes from gman's general vibes, but it's also an allusion to snakes in mythology [particularly abrahamic myth] being sleazy dealmakers with ill intent. before he was a leader, his suffix was "sight," alluding to his tendency to sit back and watch rather than run into battle.)

Can I just say I love the shipping scene in HLVRAI? Like, I've never been in a fandom where it's been this CHILL before. Each ship has appeal and could actually work (unless you're intentionally being weird about it, but I haven't really encountered those people, this is personal experience here), and it's just so-!

Frenrey is wonderful because they're both silly, if those two met under different circumstances you KNOW they'd be friends, and it can be about forgiveness and healing. I love that.

Freelatta is great because Tommy and Gordon always have each others' backs, and those two will see each other through thick and thin.

Sodashipping is delightful because Darnold and Tommy just click SO WELL, they have a lot of common interests outside of soda, and you guys who give Darnold a dog as well as so correct about that omg.

Darzen is really fun because these two have never once interacted in canon but so easily could have. Like Forzen probably had to go through that area to progress as well, what hijinx would they get into?

I don't see Gordon and Forzen being shipped just the two of them often (shoutout to hlvrv, that was unexpected but really fun), but that's another instance I could also see. They're polycule a lot of the time, which hell yeah.

Tomrey is awesome because of the pre-established friendship between Benrey and Tommy, how even down to the final wire Benrey didn't really want to hurt Tommy. Outside of shipping their relationship is just wonderful.

Darnrey is also fun in that regard. Gamer partners.

Benzon as well. This one really depends on your interpretation of canon but it's always fun when it pops up again. The history between those two has so much potential. I don't personally ship this one but it's always fun to explore.

Another I don't have the name for but Darnold and Gordon. Orang. And just the unconditional support from Darnold- wonderful.

Frenreylatta is just delightful. Like you take all the best parts of frenrey, tomrey, and freelatta and put them in a blender and you get pure wholesomeness. I fucking love this one. Absolute winner. And I also really love how usually depictions of this one don't hide the part parts, either, but it's still a generally more supportive relationship overall. Five stars.

Frenreylattarnold is also just *chef's kiss*. Darnold just brings a vibe to the group they don't otherwise have. It simultaneously makes it more chill and more chaotic.

Again I don't know the name, but add Forzen into the mix and you have a really fun, complex dynamic of people who just love each other. I'm so fucking here for it.

I know I'm missing some but AOUGH

I can't not talk about my favorite ship here, though. Boomer sweep. Boomer wins. Every time boomer pops up on my feed I get so fucking happy. Chaos grandpas who fucking love and support each other SO unconditionally. They work through their trauma together while committing crimes. The stark contrasts between them also aid wonderfully to their dynamic, like how Coomer doesn't like video games while Bubby is a speedrunner. They each have their own lives but they want to spend them together. NO I'M NORMAL DID YOU KNOW THAT I SWEAR I'M NORMAL-

Gubby's a fun one, too, and from my understanding that one's a rarepair. But yeah, putting Bubby's firey personality next to Gman's calm and collected one creates a lot of fun opportunities, and helps explore the differences between Half Life and HLVRAI Gman in more in-depth ways. It's always fun when it pops up again, I love it. (Shoutout to catloki for this one.)

I don't member the ship name but adding Coomer in there is also really fun. Chaos grandpas take over the world together <3

I haven't seen Coomer and Gman being shipped individually before but I could also see that one. Coomer would be able to simultaneously meet Gman where he's at while also encouraging him to step outside his comfort zone, and also probably being a terrible influence on him gGFDHSJAKGF.

All this to say I'm not really a shipper. These guys could be just friends and I'd be okay with that, which I guess lends itself to the RTVS crew and how well they all stepped into character. Everyone just has dynamics with each other, that come out naturally, and makes it easy for us to really see where each relationship could go.

I just fucking love this fandom.

ive actually had these sprites done for a good while now. i just kept forgetting to post them. sorry!

look at them!! they're totally friendly please stick your hands through the bars of the enclosure

the way theyd function here is similar to tommy, too. theyre both extremely important in hlvrai as a whole, so id like them both to have an effect. bubby definitely something related to fire. coomer probably the powerleg effect from my previous lore dump post.

id like to mention these NPCs aren't the only representation they get in dream world, of course !! they play a very big role in gordons life right before these dreams, i imagine there's multiple creatures and objects across the worlds that represent more minuscule, careful details about them.

as much as gordon can like or dislike it, a trace of them is everywhere, in every door. even benrey, who he'd admittedly rather forget, is only slightly more difficult to find than anything else. theyre too important to be repressed.

im not sure if darnold and forzen would get their own black and white self (as i like to call it, because .. what else do i call it) since they were .. definitely there, and i love them, but they were both significantly minor appearances.

id say they do pretty memorable stuff though (one of them gives gordon a functioning minigun for an arm and one of them holds a dog hostage which i say is not something id forget personally) so they might not get full on sprites but simpler little guys. i dunno.

dream world concepts are super abstract and fun to play with, but it also makes things very tricky.

aneeways, im leaving this the way it is here because it's four and a half in the morning and if i try to think any longer im going to contract multiple heart diseases. bye!!

Sorry for adding to what im sure is your massive pile of asks, but you have such a knack for making insanely interesting aus and amazing art to go with it. It's fr an addiction. For the parasite au, do you think there would be any side and/or after effects that linger if the science team were cured? Or would they just go back exactly to the way they were before? I can't imagine Gordon or even Benrey coming out unscathed even if a cure was whipped up. The angst potential is rotating in my mind.

haha it’s all good! ^^ I love getting into the nitty gritty of my aus so the more the merrier! And tysm! I have sm fun with the aus I make so I’m incredibly happy to hear that ppl are having as much enjoyment tagging along as well as adding their own to what I have formed.

as for those infected then cured, definitely! in the science teams case it would be worsened/loss of vision (Darnold could likely fix it) and in ppl who had prolonged infection unhealthy weight loss due to a lack of nutrition and joint pain. Other than physical injury it’s gonna take time to readjust from it, nothing too long term unless it’s something loss of permanent- (like loosing a limb or the infected person having their optic nerve gone- leading to blindness)

Gordon getting cured would probably have the worst of it recovery wise, next to his already crappy vision getting crappier our orange guy would have lost a lot of that fat he had on his body from not eating much other than the occasional nibble from another human while he was out of it… :( but let’s say that the arm incident also kinda happened so he unfortunately comes back to consciousness finding out he’s also lost a limb :/

Benrey on the other hand would probably just be really sluggish and have a lot of pain in his body from the janky movements he had no control of . And also a gross gooey sweet voice chronic cough bc his body is trying to expel whatever is left in him.

BUT YEAH TON OF ANGST POTENTIAL! ESPECIALLY IF YOU CONSIDER THE HYPOTHETICAL “GOOD END RECOVERY” PART OF THE AU :))

Oki dokie

Gordon: a unicorn with a broken horn to match the fact Gordon lost his hand in the series, he prolly used his magic for a lot of things so now he has to adjust to life without it/unstable magic. His cutie mark is jus the half life lambda symbol

Joshua: an earth pony, his mom/gordon's ex is one also. Has no cutie mark yet

Benrey: an alicorn, the first hlvrai pony design I made, has alicorn magic but doesnt really do anything with it, jus wants to chill n play video games, has missing texture wings (alicorn get fancy wings) and cutie mark. The cutie mark has the vibe of games with something wrong about them like glitches and missing elements

Hazel (my frenrey fan child): an alicorn jus like benrey. has no cutie mark yet (she is baby)

Tommy: a pegasus prince, adopted son of gman. Cutie Mark is a soda can, simple :)

Coomer: an earth pony, Boxing champion of the secret underground black mesa boxing league . has a boxing cutie mark

Bubby: a unicorn. Green test tube with DNA strand inside, part of the perfect unicorn experiments

Darnold: an earth pony, earth ponies dont have the same type of magic as unicorns, so he makes potions as a unique form of magic. Cutie Mark is a potion bottle

Forzen: a pegasus, wings are a bit scuffed to to bein in the military. Cutie Mark is a beyblade, let it riiiip!

Gman: an alicorn, not much is known about him, rules things behind the scenes. Cutie Mark is a briefcase with a question mark on it (yknow, classic gman vibes)

I told you I'll share some hcs, so here they are for HLVRAI !! Aaaand sorry for any mistakes, english isn't my first language

• sunkist & benry actually can communicate through black mesa sweet voice, and so they often do! Literally have whole conversations & sometimes Tommy could see them talking abt stuff. Benry loves sunkist.

• coomer the only one who bubby can be less aggressive with. And, considering this aggression comes from not knowing how to use the knowledges about human communication in practice, coomer is always happy to help bubby be more chill about things and tell him where to act in that way or another.

• Darnold LOVES music and listens to it almost non stop, but he especially incapable of doing experiments without some background sounds. He's also very focused when working so one can easily scare him for he just unaware of anything besides potions at these moments.

• Therefore when tommy's helping him he practically forced to listen to darnolds fav album of the week. But he actually likes it! He doesn't really listen to much music himself but through darnolds playlists he finds something for himself too!

• they also dance together sometimes!

• benrey can shapeshift but can't change some aspects of his appearance as: sharp teeth & nails, yellow, slightly glowing in the dark eyes & skin tone.

• his eyes can work as cat's do! So in the dark they're slightly glowing (tho in their own, not because of some light source or something) & pupils are becoming bigger if he's looking at dark areas and smaller – if lookinng at lighten ones.

• Tommy likes reading Wikipedia. Like some people read news at mornings? Tommys doing this but with Wikipedia articles.

• coomer and bubby could be friends even when bubby was still locked in the tube. They talked from time to time, when other scientists weren't around to suspect something, and gradually became really good friends. One time bubby decided to open to coomer his plan to escape and honestly was afraid that he will lost his friend and he will tell others. But, to his surprise, though he hoped on such result, harold said he will gladly help bubby. So he did. He took care of most things – bubby couldn't really do much sitting in a tube – and finally his friend was free.

• sometimes benrey is just not feeling like talking so he's using sweet voice. The problem is no one really can understand it. Besides Tommy. So he often either trying to translate benreys sweet voice to others or keeping him company and listening whatever he's singing.

• considering that Tommy and benrey are friends, and in my head they are even BEST friends, I like to think that benrey teaches tommy to understand sweet voice.

• considering coomer is a cyborg, he's eye slightly glow with green. They also change to red when he's in «killing mode».

(I wrote these uhhhh year or uhm around two years back already)

[Start ID: 4 more pages of HLVRAI doodles about Darnold joining the Science Team and Half-Life creatures. Warning for blood in the 4th page.

Before the Science Team leaves the Mixology Department Lab, Darnold has to arm himself. He holds a conical flask and wine bottle with a silly straw stuck through the cork, both containing sleep potion, looking around: "Hmm…I'll need somewhere to store these…something…" He spots a box of decorations on the nearby shelf and his eyes light up: "Oh!" He picks it up with a delighted "Aha!" and sets it down on his lab table. "I know everyone's been telling me to stow these away somewhere, but I always knew we'd need them someday," he says, beginning to rifle through the contents and past a coil of fairy lights until he finds what he's looking for and exclaims, "Ah, there we go!"

He raises a transparent glass bulb ornament with a string attached on top out of the box with a huge grin. Later, he proudly shows off the now sleep-potion-filled glass bulbs hanging from a belt he's since buckled around his waist. He now has a defense weapon he can throw at hostile creatures to knock them out without killing them. Bonus drawing: Gordon is disturbed by how Darnold seems to never run out of his potion-bulbs even though he's been slinging them consistently. "How do you keep replenishing those so quick?? Weren't you just out???" he asks. The four potion-bulbs strapped to Darnold's belt haven't gone down in numbers despite having taken two in his hands. He looks at Gordon, puzzled: "I have an inventory, Dr Freeman. Don't…don't you have one?"

Separate scenario: Benrey shoots a reproachful look at the Snark creature he's holding in his hand, his other hand it bit held away from it: "ow, aw wuh the hell bro, no biting." The one-eyed, bug-like alien hisses at him, ready to go again. Benrey begins shoving the Snark into his mouth, only delayed in progress by the angry, screeching creature holding itself back with its two hooked front legs. Gordon yells at him: "Wh- DON'T FUCKIN' EAT IT?!!"

Separate scenario: Darnold holds up a docile Spore Launcher, the puppy-sized, toothy, lungfish-like creature quiet in his hands. It has a smooth rounded skull crowned by spikes, two spindly front legs, gills along its side and trailing tentacles. Darnold looks at it, the nervousness melting from his face. His mouth turns up in a little smile: "H-huh, I…You might just be the only thing that hasn't tried to kill me today..." Extra drawing: Darnold, with the right side of his head sprayed with blood and wearing a tight-lipped smile, pets the Spore Launcher cradled in his arms to soothe himself as fighting and gunshots ring out around him.

i think i remember you saying the science team would rewatch the videos together( like the cast commentaries,) and i was curious to see if you would talk a bit about that? like… how they reacted to certain things and scenes, if or how they talked it out, stuff like that… i’ve been wanting to ask this for sooooo long but just now got the confidence to, i love this verse sooooo much !!! its been living rent free in my head ever since i first read the series… its the only way i can think of post-canon i love it so much… ok thats all i hope you have a good day !!!

First I gotta say Thank You and I'm making my first official rent payment for the real estate in here. It has always been the goal to inspire people to think about the team like this and I am SO grateful for every ask sent and conversation had. But YES let's talk about watching

Gordon gave the team the option to watch the VODs and edits on their own, but was convinced to make it a group activity by his friends. This ended up being to precursor to their regular movie nights-- everybody met up in Tommy's basement to watch the edits together over a couple days. (Nobody wanted the emotional whiplash of going into Act 3 unprepared.)

One of the key things that everyone has a reaction to is what fonts and text colors Gordon chose for them.

Benrey likes his text color well enough, but would have preferred purple. He also thinks his font could have been something way cooler. He also thinks it's weird that he and Forzen have the same font, and accuses Gordon of being lazy.

Tommy tells Gordon that he likes his font and color, but it's hard to tell how he really feels. He does say that while his favorite color is actually red, he knows that can be a bit harder to read against a dark background.

Bubby is insulted that he was given Times New Roman, legendary as a default font, but changes his tune when told it's actually Sylfaen. Entirely different! With this, he and Coomer are both satisfied with their captions. In fact, their fonts are in their favorite colors... sort of. Coomer actually prefers cyan, while Bubby likes green.

Gordon actually got Darnold's favorite color dead on. He's started using his typeface, Terminal Grotesque, on most documents and correspondence. He hasn't verbally acknowledged this, but Gordon's noticed. It makes him smile.

G-Man thinks his font is very practical. That's all he's said on the matter.

Bubby had completely forgotten that Gordon didn't believe him about his name. Upon being reminded, he went "Wait, hang on, hang on. What the fuck, Gordon? Who DOES that?" (Darnold felt validated by this.)

Coomer laughs uproariously at his own jokes and slips of the tongue.

"So Tommy. Benrey said you like mean people, do you... do you have any idea what he meant by that?" "Oh! Well, you know." He failed to elaborate.

The screen going black during the ambush came as a surprise to the team. Everyone remembers actually seeing the events play out, though in hindsight, Coomer questions his own memory. There's a lot about that whole stretch of time that he has questions about, but he knows they can't be answered.

Bubby goes out of his way to point out situations where he was playing a trick or just straight-up lying to his friends. Part of it is for full disclosure, part is to brag about what a funny guy he is.

Gordon is uncomfortable with clips where he is condescending to or impatient with the science team. Benrey tries to diffuse his anxieties by pointing them out directly and highlighting all of his insecurities. He's a great friend. He tries his best.

GoopGhost (Cotard x Strata) I Ship It! What made you ship it?: I don't even remember how Staff Sys (@crow-of-ohio) and us came up with it TBH but it's just SO fun to play with. Morally fucked person dies and gets stuck hanging out with goofy dead failguy and ends up developing a conscience <3.

What are your favorite things about the ship?: The dynamic is a big one. Strata has spent twenty years repressing emotions and being cold and clinical and along comes this fucking DORK who is big and loud and flamboyant and unafraid to be unapologetically cringefail and they HATE each other at first. And then they stop hating each other. And then they like each other.

Is there an unpopular opinion you have on your ship?: I cannot think of one because. Gestures at the whole I Can Do What I Want Forever. AcidRain (Strata x Laplace) I Don’t Ship It. Why don’t you ship it?: THEY'RE SO BAD FOR EACH OTHER HOLY MOLY. Laplace commits atrocities and Strata enables her because they're gay.

What would have made you like it?: I do like it. I like it so much but from a "Are they canon to the mainline ToxicTrio Timeline" standpoint it's a big old NO because Strata undergoes character development.

Despite not shipping it, do you have anything positive to say about it?: It's about the devotion it's about the obsession it's about the symbolism of a person and their attack dog, a man and his weapon they're my everything now please seperate them IMMEDIATELY. DivorceDuo (Laplace x Cotard) I Don’t Ship It. Why don’t you ship it?: Take a wild honking guess (They're divorced it is IN THE NAME). Cotard watched the love of his life become a monster over the course of twenty years and was unable to prevent it and then she brought him back and acted like he came back wrong when he was horrified.

What would have made you like it?: ONCE AGAIN I DO LIKE IT VERY MUCH. But they are divorced. I love their dynamics. Doczen but it's the Bad Timeline.

Despite not shipping it, do you have anything positive to say about it?: Rocky Horror More Like Rocky Divorce (/injoke). The contrast between Laplace's quick temper, sharp wit and abrasive personality and Cotard's chillness and Unparalleled Levels of Stupid are really funny.

Keep in mind that these are only for the main/"canon" versions of these three. Other AUs may be different. HAHA YOU THOUGHT I WAS DONE? Bonus round, BITCH! Dubious Carbonated Beverage (Barney/Darnold) I Ship It! What made you ship it?: It's literally a crackship I have NO IDEA.

What are your favorite things about the ship?: Old gay guys who are so fucking sassy and so fucking tired. They probably butt heads over whether it's cute that Kleiner puts Lamarr in sweaters. They're Alyx's weird uncles. Barney tries to get Darnold's help with the Board Of Fuckery and Darnold is horrified by the fact that it's somehow bigger every time he sees it. Darnold lets Barney test his new potions first. They're so NORMAL. /pos

Is there an unpopular opinion you have on your ship?: The ship itself. I've been rotating it in my brain and NOW is when I reveal it. My machinations lay undetected for years /q. Not putting DilfTrio (Coomer/Bubby/The Old Man) in here because uhhhh I have nothing to say except give them some tea and perhaps a nice rest. I love themb.

DANG IT, I KNEW YOU WERE GONNA CALL ME OUT FOR THIS XD

Okay, okay. First snippet, cryptic as all hell, but I WILL tell you it comes from a 5+1 things that got . . . way out of hand by a few ten thousands of words:

"There are moments, however rare, when the universe aligns in such a way that a miracle happens. Some of these miracles are flashy public things that hundreds witness in awe and spectacle. Some are smaller things, shared between a few souls, whose miraculous nature will be known and appreciated and then lost to time. Most, though, are small things. Tiny, in the greater scheme of the universe, and invisible to those they affect. Miracles like following a gut feeling down one street rather than another on your way home and never running into that danger that was waiting for you. Miracles like placing the cereal box that two inches further from the stove than you meant to, so when it falls over it misses the hot pan and no one gets burned. Miracles like deciding that today was the day you actually talked to people at work and made an effort to be outgoing. Miracles like two souls finally working out their differences and matching each other for a brief moment in a place where something like existence itself is extraordinary.
