I know this is coming hot on the heels of a number of posts I've made about being earnest and not trying to preempt people making fun of you by self deprecatingly putting yourself down for liking things, or trying things/jokes out, etc, but adding "(we have fun here)" as a parenthetical to very minor witticisms that are extremely obvious and on the nose is one of my favourite jokes.

I have to take issue with part of the recent shubble discourse. Of the two scenarios she mentioned, he is definitely the person that stopped complementing her. She stated she thought that ex was her "forever person" and he essentially confirms his lack of praise through the "Oh Distant You" lyrics. As for the ex who she thinks wanted to hurt her under the guise of being playful, I am far less confident that she was speaking of him. I don't dispute that he is a contender for being the offendant. The issue I have is that there is no other information from her that even alludes to it being him. As she herself stated, there are a lot of people that she draws from when talking about her experiences. This specific mention doesn't include enough info to rule out all other exes.

My eyes turned towards Wilbur because that seems to be the way he acts around people in general once he reaches a certain level of intimacy with them. He bit Niki to the point of bruising, that happened in her own words. I'm not saying 'it would be weirder if he didn't bite her' because biting is still the weirder thing here by far but I don't see him as motivated or self-controlled enough to have made her an exception to the rule/habit. It fits the profile of 'thing meant to be laughed off but still cause pain' really well. I've got no solid proof of this, but he still stands out as the most likely because he's done it to other people so often.
