This is probably the illustration I spent the most time and effort on in the past year or so tbh,, This took... 5? 6? hours... Oops.

I've been enjoying Hazbin Hotel so far, so I decided to combine one of my favorites there with one of my favorites from Enstars because... why have two brainrots when you won't combine them? I did not intend for this to be Natsume birthday art (I don't usually do those) but I happened to finish this on his birthday

I just realized now that if S7 air and Yorishima make his anime debut the number of people believing him being Natsume's grandpa will increase too .... hmmmm ...

I don't know why alot of people believe this tbh .. this idea is funny to me and wrong on many front ...

I'm not denying those people or their ideas and theories .. none know the truth yet so it fun to have many ideas and such ,, it just this is my personal take is all .. actually, I'm opened to hear those people's line of reasoning since this idea never crossed my mind nor am I ever gonna consider it ..

personally, I do believe he play an important different role be it to Reiko or Natsume's real grandfather .. but him being the one is just funny xDD

Dose Yorishima appear the type to have ever considered loving someone in his life or be happy ?? we're talking about the same person who always draw a line between him and other people .. he's the Natsume of the past ... even when he got injured, he fully cut all ties with humans so as not worry them or cause trouble to anyone .. hide the truth from his only friend.

I bet making a family of his own never crossed his mind out of not wanting to cause his future wife/kids any grief or pain because he's that kind. plus, he feels he doesn't deserve any kind of happiness.

I think he did talk about this subject with his friend in the past about loving someone and making a family ? I'm not in a state to check said chapter but I don't think my memory fails me ?

Yorishima is a shut-in .. the idea of him going in and out to meet Reiko who's that far away is an amusing idea lol

Yorishima is the type that Reiko would bully for her to fall in love with him or him winning over Reiko, the least type of person he would wanna interact with ever .. the idea of them falling in love and being married is funny sorry xDD >>> now you had me wanting to see these two interact together that badly ugh

if we do assume they were in love and had a daughter .. does Yorishima sound like the type of person to dumb his wife behind when she's pregnant ?? on top of that .. does he look like the type of person to let his wife get killed and leave his daughter left alone???

ill just never get over this panel or how its the first time we see natsume visibly upset and sad from his own perspective (something we dont really see much of because of the way his character works), especially because the plant disintegrating in front of him is representing much more than a plant and he can never ever have anything good in his life without fearing it would be harmed in some way to discipline him.

Shuuichi finds Seiji at the water’s edge.

“They’ll take them from your hand, even,” Seiji says, as if Shuuichi has been there all along. He’s feeding the koi bits of cracker.

“You know, my sister would have them turning tricks for these.” His fingertips graze the surface of the water. “For all we look alike, they can still tell the difference.”

The moon and the stars have been brought down to earth, and the fish move between them. Brilliant fireworks against the inky blackness.

“Are you enjoying the evening, Shuuichi-san? I was sorry to leave you alone.”

He sits down now, but can’t seem to relax.

“You know the answer to that already, don’t you.”

“Are you asking me?”

“You were there for some of it, weren’t you?”

“I was just in and out—for my treats.” He emphasizes his words with another toss of crumbs, further afield.

The koi set off in slow motion.

“Seiji.”

Seiji finally looks at him, his expression strange and as unfathomable as the dark water. Not for the first time, Shuuichi wonders what it will be like when his face is halved by the seal.

“What do you want me to say? That I heard none of it? That I heard all of it?” His voice is devastatingly quiet. “Tell me, what do you want?”

All at once, he can’t stand it.

“I don’t know.” A barely whispered admission—a confession.

Seiji turns back to the pond.

“I don’t envy you, but there are parts of you that are very enviable. But that’s not enough, is it?”

Shuuichi stiffens, already feeling scraped raw by the evening. Something unpleasant rises within him.

What am I supposed to do?

If the ground opened up and swallowed him whole, he doesn’t think that would be such a terrible thing.

It is a while before Seiji speaks again.

“Don’t mind me, Shuuichi-san, I’m just thinking aloud.” Is it bad that those words feel like a balm?

And so absurdly—

“Canapé?” Seiji proffers his plate.

Instead, Shuuichi swipes the rest of the butter cookies Seiji favors. A small retaliation. But maybe not too small when it comes to Seiji and his sweets.

They melt in his mouth. Seiji stares down at his plate.

“They’re good, aren’t they?”

Shuuichi tips a few back onto the plate.

“Not too bad.”

presently though natsume is willingly helpful when he’s with natori. natori’s mellowed out a lot and natsume. well. not much changed on his end he just started ignoring natori’s obnoxious behaviour more. lol.

#pretty canonically natori is the ‘weird older cousin you see occasionally’ except they’re not related. but midorikawa did contrast natori #and natsume with natori and his fake younger cousin. and paralleled the two sets that way #so. natori weird older cousin wins. i do not entertain anything else.

I'm doing this book challenge through my library where they give me 50 prompts (a book by an author with less than five letters in their name, a book about something mentioned in We Didn't Start The Fire, a book set in the state you were born, etc.) and one of them is a book with a pet in it.

I decided to read Natsume Sōseki's I Am A Cat, because The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles did prompt me to read the Sherlock Holmes canon, so why not also read Sōseki's work? I looked it up in the library system and, sure enough, the library had a copy in, because who else in this town would suddenly decide they wanted to read a satire about the Meiji era?

However, when I went to go get it... Someone else had already checked it out.

So I ask again.
