As7 Ep 3: Ball of Fortune

"Are you ready for the runaway?" Monet asks the person beside her.

"Duhhh bitch, I'm born to be ready" Raja answered, who is also finishing her makeup.

"Or more like born to be wild?" Monet smirks, causing some of the queens to chuckle.

Raja playfully rolled her eyes at them, "Very funny…Bob" Raja looks at Monet with a smirk.

All the queens inside the Werq Room let out a loud laugh, shouting "YASZZ!" and "OHHHH BITCH!"

During the commotion, Raja used the moment to take a glance at the picture that is taped on the vanity in front of her. It was the picture of both of you in Paris together, where you two celebrated your anniversary.

Raja study your features, and couldn't help but wonder how she got lucky to have someone as beautiful not only outside, but also inside as you. You always never fail to make her heart skip, even if it's just a photo of you, it still makes her stomach feel butterfly.

"Miss her don't you?" A voice startled Raja, she immediately pivot her head and saw Jinkx already in drag behind her.

"W-What?"

Jinkx gives an amused look, before repeating herself again "I said you must miss the beautiful lady in the picture, don't you?"

Finally gathering her though, Raja nods. Turning her head in front to longingly look at you again, she whispered "Yeah, yeah I do."

"Who did this bitch miss?" Jaida loudly entered the conversation, getting all the queen's attention, and being the curious queens they are, they went to Raja's area, who seem a bit bothered being crowded by them.

Seeing Raja a bit uneasy with the attention, Jinkx replied in her stead "Her girlfriend~"

Silence…

Raja felt the nervousness rush into her, It's not like your relationship is a secret, but with both of your careers as public figures you guys try to keep it lowkey. Making it your family and very, very close friends only know about your relationship.

"A girl? You're in a relationship with a GIRL?!" Jaida blurts out, breaking off the silence wrapping the room.

"Yeah, what about it?"

"OHH, MY GOD!! I never thought Roger would be ROGER!" Trinity laugh, cracking everyone up.

"So who is this unlucky human being? Does this person have a name?" Monet cut in.

"Hmm, her name is (Y/N)" Raja let out a small smile, she grabbed the picture in front of her and caressed it with yearning. Everyone gathers to see the mystery woman in the picture.

"Wait, wait, WAIT MAMAW! I-Is that (Y/n)? As in (Y/N)? Your dating THE (Y/N)(L/N)?!" Jaida exclaimed with wide eyes.

"Is that the model one?" Vivienne ask.

Before Raja could answer Vivienne, Jaida beat her first "Bitch, she is not just any model, SHE IS THE FUCKING SUPERMODEL!!"

Jaida turns her head to focus again on Raja, "You're really dating her? As in DATING her?!"

Raja amusingly look at her reaction and everyone else, as they crowded her, intent to get the answer out of her.

"So are you dating her or what?" Shea shook her head impatiently, crossing her arms as she waited for the answer just like everyone.

Making them wait for a minute since she enjoys making them suffer, Raja finally answered under her breath, "Yes…"

The room was immediately filled with the sound of gasping, squealing, and any long high pitched noise you could think of.

Everybody, except Jinkx, starts to ask Raja a lot of questions and requests, making the older queen a bit uncomfortable. Thankfully a staff enter to break off the commotion

"Okay queens, you have 8 minutes left before going into the runway!" The staff announces the room, causing all of the queens to go back to their tables and finish working.

Raja let out a big sigh of relief, she then turns back to the vanity and finish her work. However, before she began, she gives your picture one last look as an inspiration.

After all, you were the muse of her drag

The queens are already lined up for judgment on their performance. All are prepared and ready to win for this week's challenge.

All of them are focused on the judges, especially RuPaul.

Raja felt nervousness and worry rising in her. This is a design challenge after all, and she is known to be the fashion icon of drag, so the pressure is really on.

However, that pressure doubled when RuPaul announce another twist.

"Now before the judging begins, I have an announcement to make. There's one more queen I will add to this competition."

A series of emotions and reaction form in each of the contestant's faces.

"And the queen that we all love and adore, let us welcome back in the main stage… Manila Luzon!"

What?!!

Everyone immediately turn their head at the runway entrance and saw a back figure with a familiar white wig in a stunning silver gown.

Raja is now confused, Manila wasn't a winner of any season or anything at all. So how come she is fucking here?!!

She carefully studies the figure and notices something different, especially the height, resulting her thinking it could not be Manila and can be someone else instead. RuPaul after all likes to make a twist inside of another twist. Therefore, who could this person be?

Her thoughts were cut by the sound of shrieks coming from the other queens when the 'Manila Luzon' turned around and walk across the runway. Raja's eyes went wide after she realize its not Manila at all.

It's YOU.

Her heart flutters as she watches you regally and sophisticatedly walk the stage, the same as what you always do on every fashion week runway, grabbing everyone's attention in the studio.

"My queens, say hello to one and only (Y/N) (L/N)!" RuPaul introduces you with a smile.

The room instantly erupted with cheers and whistles, making you feel bashful.

"I'm very grateful for being here Ru and I'm a big fan of everyone here! "

"But I heard you also have your favorites, is that true? " Ru cheekily asks you, even though she already knows the answer.

Raja felt her cheeks become warm after she caught you looking at her with a smirk.

"Yeah I do have one" then you give Raja a wink, making her flustered even more

And so the judging begins.

Truth be told, you were kinda worried about giving critics to other people since you're pretty much a player instead of a judger. That's why at first you were reluctant on accepting the invitation of being the guest judge. However, you still pursue it because it's also the only way to see Raja after weeks of not being able to be together.

Thankfully you were able to perform well and give each queen the critics they deserve for the week.

"Hello Raja," you said with a sultry voice that she loves, giving her a flirty look. Causing her to blush, you love teasing her in public.

"Your outfit is very stunning and regal. The way how you make the collar, sleeves are utterly astounding. All of this defines y-"

"You're so beautiful." Raja cut you off, stopping you midway.

You blink for a couple of seconds, caught off guard "Co-come again?"

She gives you a teasing smirk before repeating herself again "I said, you're very beautiful and I love you,"

Realizing what she said, everyone starts to whistle, laugh, and tease the two of you, including the judges, making your face to be full-blown red from embarrassment and surprise. You didn't expect her to say that in public, especially with everyone around the globe could watch it.

Thankfully everyone calm down, but still there some teasing whispers can be heard.

"Continue (Y/N)," Ru said, trying to hold her laugh.

Rolling your eyes, you try to compose your posture again "Thank you Ru, so back to you Raja, like I said — stop that!"

"Stop what?" Raja innocently ask.

"That!"

"What?!"

"Looking at me like that! Stop distracting me! "

"I'm not doing anything." But you know she is fully aware of what she is doing. She is giving you that hot look again!

"I hate you," you grumble.

" I love you," Raja replied sweetly.

"Okay let's stop this relationship quarrel, we don't want to get illness from this so-called PDA." Rupaul said, making you low your head from embarrassment.

You saw Raja give you a satisfied smirk and it only irks you even more.

Raja may not be the winner of this week's challenge, but she's already felt like a champion from what she did. Annoying the hell out of you.

Heyy i saw your post about drag race, the season you're referring is probably season 7. I never seen someone who likes atla that is also interested with drag race like me so I'm giddy what's your favorite season and who's your favorite queens?

I figure out it's season 7 after I remember violet's runway. I just rewatch it actually lol. Yeah, I think it's rare because I never meet someone irl that like atla and rpdr at the same time, so I have different sets of friends I talk my interest about because if I think about something I love I feel like I'm going to blow up if I don't vent out my thoughts 😂. For my fav season All Star 2 probably and then my top 3 favorite regular season are:

1.) Season 5- it have many iconic queens, iconic moments and lipsyncs plus it had the most diverse maxi challenges.

2.) Season 6- great set of queens, the drama and untucked this season just gets me 💀

3. ) Season 7- well many people find this season boring but it's actually not. The challenges given to the girls sucks they bombarded them with various acting challenges. Many queens this season are ironically funny plus this season probably has the most successful queens which brings me to my favs because most of them came from season 7 😂.

I have many favs but on my top list are: Katya, Violet, Pearl, Trixie and Fame (all of them came from s7 😂). I also love Tatianna, Manila, Alyssa, Coco, Rolaskatox, Raja, Adore, Jinkx, Kim chi, Bob, Sasha, Shea and many more.

I actually stop watching by season 10 and I barely what S10 but now I'm trying to get to it again started watching s15 yesterday.

But the roasts are always my favorite, and the challenge that I would most like to do. 

Seeing as I will never be blessed enough to work with any of these talented people, I wrote my own roast set.

The Vivienne. You say you take your fashion inspiration from luxury. I think it’s actually from Britain. More specifically, the loo.

thoughts on the roast episode of as7 (under the cut bc spoilers);

I HATE THIS SONG. I HATE THIS SONG. ava max is ear blood to me.

i get what they're going for with trinity, the storyline of her going from 2 bombed roasts to winning one is good, but the vivienne should have won instead of trinity, for both the roast and runway. jinkx winning was a given and well deserved.

jaida is on her deranged arc this season and i am fucking obsessed with her

as for my final 4 predictions, obviously jinkx is the mvp of this season so far and i'd be pleased if she won the whole thing. she's been absolutely crushing it. but it's a lip sync finale and there are some really incredible lip syncers in the running yet - i could see it coming down to jinkx and jaida, trinity is definitely gonna be up there too, and i think the fourth queen will be either the vivienne or monet. shea coulee is pretty much out of the running at this point, as much as that hurts me.

so i'm thinking the most likely final 4 queens are as follows: jinkx (already a lock tbh), trinity, monet, jaida, the vivienne, and raja.

it really depends on what the final challenge is. a fashion challenge would give the edge to jaida, raja, and trinity, wheras a comedy/acting challenge would be better for jinkx, monet, and the vivienne. i'm excited to see how it all shakes out.

Initial thoughts on AS7 now that we're into week two?

Oh god, haha, I don’t knoooow. I’m somewhat conflicted! I like that they have enough “respect” for the winners to do a super positive showcase season, but it’s also glaringly obvious sometimes how much they’re editing/not saying to make everyone look their best

I’m expecting either a Trinity or a Jinkx win (though I think Shea has a shot too?)

If it wasn’t for Raja, I wouldn’t be watching, but I’m so so so happy with how well they’re doing!! Raja has a very cooky side of her personality, and while she’s stunning, gorge and a snack, she also can’t remember lines of choreo to save her life, so I’m worried about episode four! 🥲

I love that we keep the entire cast for the season, but it also means some queens get very limited screen time, which I hope they’ll make up for!

I’m also not crazy about the Untucked format, but it’s cute to see everyone get excited about putting together new outfits ❤️

I for sure think Jinkx should have won the all winners but I feel like the judging calls were shady toward Raja I feel she should have won some more

also the last minute twist where they bumped Shea up to the top and then were like "Monét pick between your twinner and the person you've had an "alliance" with this whole time and Jaida" like there was no tension you knew who she'd pick

any ways my fantasy was a Jinkx v Raja final lip sync but I'm glad Raja got paid

I do not understand how Trinity made it that far because she should not have been ranked that highly - she was not top 4 material to me (she should NOT have been in the top 2 for the all glowed up challenge, or Snatch Game, or the RuPaul previous looks challenge, or the Kennedy Davenport Center Honors, and she only was in the top two for that one because she had "improved" from her previous roast fiasco) and Raja was shafted consistently because she fucking turned it out on the runway each week and she did well in Snatch Game (it should have been her and Jinkx in the top two that week) and the RuPaul previous looks design challenge. I also thought Shea was kinda shafted too because her looks were consistently amazing and she was consistently doing pretty well, and Trinity only made it that far because of that alliance.

I think Shea had been doing better and was more consistent and deserved to be in the top 4 and similarly I think Raja should have been top 4 instead of Trinity.

I was just not a fan of Trinity - I ranged from not a fan to tired of her whole thing (her shtick in the lip sync is to be slightly comedic and then doing something sexual and show and shake her ass and then try to do a pageant thing occasionally, her looks weren't as great as people thought, I very much disliked her Snatch Game impressions, etc.) and Raja is someone I've always liked and thought has done well and her style and sense of fashion and understanding and knowledge is amazing.

So I went back and reviewed AS7 and if they had a bottom 2, here's how I think it would've went

Wk1 (Legends Verse): Raja vs Trinity (Old McDonald- Trin)

Wk2 (Snatch Game): Shea vs Yvie (Rumor Has It- Shea)

Wk 3 (Ball): Jinkx vs Yvie (Green Light- Yvie)

Wk 4 (Improv): Shea vs Monét (Love Will Save The Day- Shea)

Wk 5 (Speeches): Trinity vs Jaida (Better In Color- Jaida)

Wk 6 (Girl Groups): Raja vs Jinkx (Why'd You Come In Here Looking Like That- Jinkx)

Wk 7 (Design): Jinkx vs Raja (I Want Love- Double Sashay)

Wk 8 (Acting): Yvie vs Jaida (Super Freak- Yvie)

Wk 9 (Branding): Viv vs Raja (Spoken Word- Viv)

Wk 10 (Roast): Jaida vs Shea (Kings & Queens- Shea)

Wk 11 (Talent Show): Trinity vs Viv (Supernova- Viv)

Based off of that, Monét did the best throughout the competition even though Jinkx won 5 Challenges. Shea and Raja definitely weren't robbed of wins. Yvie was not prepared for this season. Jaida wasn't robbed of the final 4 placement. Viv and Trinity had a rocky season with some highs and some lows.

My ideal top 4 for as7 at the beginning of the season was Jinkx, Raja, Shea, and Jaida

Before we found out the actual top 4, it had become Jinkx, Raja, Jaida, and Trinity

But my guess for the top 4 was Jinkx, Trinity, Jaida, and maybe Viv or still holding out hope for Raja

The only issue I have with the top 4 is Monet like not to be a hater but sjkdkdkdl She’s fine, just def not a fav like Jinkx, Shea, or Trinity. And I would have much preferred Raja or Jaida up there. And even Viv.

I kind of had a feeling that production would make sure Shea got to the top via a twist, like I was thinking that weeks ago. And as soon as they announced that I had basically determined that Shea was def going to be top 4. And like Monet definitely deserved the variety show win, but like damn I just don’t see her on the level as some of the other queens I’ve been naming. Like obviously she’s a great performer and entertainer, but she’s not queen of all queens in my mind, not even close.

Bottom line tho: Jinkx is going to win. If Jinkx doesn’t win, I’m rioting.

I just rewatched season 5, and man like Jinkx has had such an incredible amount of growth since season 5. And even IN season 5, Jinkx totally represented a form of drag that is a HUGE part of drag at large but was a largely under-loved on the show: campy, singing, dancing drag. Jinkx is a true individual, so unique, so funny, so skillful, so talented. And now her outfits and makeup are also GORGEOUS. Jinkx’s win felt revolutionary (even more so than Sharon’s). And like for Jinkx to win as7, it would only be right.

I’m saying all of this just in hopes that I will be vindicated by history.

Also, my HOPE is that Raja wins the queen of she already done has her’s’s or whatever. But I could also see Jaida winning that. But Raja would BY FAR be the more satisfying win for me.

....yes i have been watching all stars. i knew ive heard it before long ago, and i think jinx just subconsciously put it back in my brain without me noticing

on that, im actually curious. what's your thoughts on this all stars season???

It's definitely an existing joke, you're right, but she brought her own flair to it.

I'm enjoying it! Definitely team Jinkx, Jinkx is my pick to win, but I'd like to see Raja get some more credit as well. I think she's going pretty overlooked, shockingly. My ideal final three would probably be Jinkx, Shea, and Raja, but for a final four that fourth spot is a toss-up; pretty much all of them could take it. Yvie's seeming unlikely at this point, unfortunately, but I'd really like to see her win something and perform once this season. I'm loving Jaida this season too, you can tell getting a chance to do this again with the potential for a proper finale means a lot to her, and that it also worries her whether or not she "deserves" it with so little time to "scale up" her drag compared to some of the returning winners. I'd say that I actually want Jaida to make it to the end for that reason-- if any of them deserve to do it again, it's her. So I'll say Jinkx, Shea, Raja, Jaida for the finals, but I wouldn't be mad to see anyone make it.
