Just remembered that time Adam Howden (Anders' VA) was actively seeking out people to fight with and he started a fight with me because I'm not vegan. I was replying to someone about a recipe I had that was delicious with meat substitute, and that I ate it all the time when I used to be vegan.

He said that meat eaters, including me, who again he was replying to despite the thread I replied to being a personal friend instead of a trending tweet, should all die and I wish I'd have saved those screenshots from my old laptop... because damn that gave me such a good laugh.

Okay i have yet to see a post about this that isnt filled with ppl being Annoying as Fuck on it, but,

theyve found wreckage of the submersible, it imploded (thank god, thats better than a drawn out suffocation over the course of several days, implosion means it was pretty much instantaneous) and the us navy have revealed they heard a weird sound on sunday from about where communication with the sub was lost, that was probably the sound of the implosion, [implied that they didnt say anything cos they didnt want to jump to conclusions without evidence of a wreckage, if there was a chance they were still alive.] no idea what the banging sounds were.

I do hope rescue efforts are extended to the migrants off the coast of greece, and am angry and horrified at their mistreatment, and that the media clearly cares less for their fates than that of the billionaires on the sub.

side note. im just upset now about how it feels like my work is no longer belonging to me. I dont get to choose what it is put into. it is now a comodity for whoever believes that they have a right to my work.

When I work in an art-based industry, what I produce will not be my own. It will be owned by another company who hired me. I could spend hours on it and pour my life force into what I create, but it could be held by the company and not released or released and removed from my ownership.

Now tumblr is the same. now every website is the same. You never have control of what you post forever. You never get to choose what happens to your online work. But now I know that what I post will go directly into the content meatgrinder that is AI technology. I will not get to choose this. I will not get to own my work any more. Even if I opt out, even if thousands of users opt out, not everybody will. Not everybody will know. Not everybody will want to. Not everybody will be bothered.

Theres a difference between individuals reposting my work onto pinterest and an entire blog being fed into AI. Theres a difference between a single human feeding artwork that isnt theirs into AI and an automatic process in which my data, my artwork, my life is being fed into AI. I will never own my own work again unless I keep it directly next to me and never share it.

Im debating pulling all of my work from this website.

overall i thought scott pilgrim takes off was a fun watch, but i also think that the general premise of scott pilgrim, the character, completely got away from it. like, to me, the point of him is: "scott is not entitled to a relationship with ramona; he has to earn it." and that's how he grows as a person. and instead this installment was coming at the concept from a meta perspective of knowing, already, that scott and ramona end up together, so why should the story have to justify that? i don't think it really made scott grow as a character at all, and even when the story was focusing on ramona, she was focused on scott, so she didn't get any growth by herself.

I started volunteering in my friend’s kindergarten last month and like… I love these kids so much it’s unreal. They’re so sweet and weird! One of the kids drew me this killer Mario art and I’m gonna frame it and hang it on my wall.

people can use this site however they want but there's something almost- idk, sad? about how few people are actually using their blogs. you can turn themes on and have skeletons dancing in the background. you can make everything hot pink. your blog is your scrapbook and you can put whatever you want in there. tags are okay at organizing things so you can have just a whole archive of cool shit to look at later. i know people complain a lot about people liking stuff about reblogging for engagement, and on one hand i get that- it is WILD to see a drawing i spent hours on get only 12 reblogs and 60 likes. Absolute culture shock compared to my previous fandoms. but i don't think you should reblog anything to make artists happy. i think you should reblog things so you can find them again. i think you should queue things to appear on the dash at specific times on certain days. i think you should reblog things so when you're talking to your friends about xyz post you saw you can look in your blog's archive and find it again. i think you should reblog things so that your dash is filled with one really sleepy cat. with the loss of reblogs there's the loss of engagement, which Does hurt the community-focus that makes tumblr so appealing, but idk i just wish people were more excited about the incredible amount of customization that tumblr allows and took advantage of that more

I think I just generally hate reversal AUs in general 6ecause they feel far more contrived to make all the characters fit into each other's roles or actually miss where the mirror they want to see the other side of actually exists in the original story.

....Gonna be real here guys, I mostly say it in a playful way but I do feel really strongly that "Chief's kind of a dork" is just the text and it's pretty core for how I understand that character. It's fine if other people disagree with me and don't prefer that interpretation, you don't have to like things you don't like, but like... based on all the evidence I have that I think says this about the character, it's pretty unlikely I'm gonna shift my opinion.

(And it shouldn't matter that much, it's not like I'm the final arbiter of Halo opinions.)

To be clear: it's not tearing down the character to say this, it actually is what makes him great?

I think the Master Chief is a very cool character because he's not really.

When games/gamer fiction try really hard to make a character super untouchable inhuman cool, it usually has the opposite effect.

Chief being hypercompetent at his job but kind of awkward and dorky sometimes when we see what goes on inside his head is part of what makes him cool. He isn't trying for it, he doesn't care.

He's free.

I've had this thought lingering in my mind for a while and I just kinda need to talk about it because it keeps bothering me.

I'm just gonna preface this saying I use it/its pronouns right. I'm happy being that way and I usually tell people to refer to me in that fashion.

However, it's become a common thing for a lot of my friends (whether talking to me or about me) to call me "they." Which like- I don't entirely mind it. I understand my pronouns are unconventional, and not many people use them. I get they can be new to get used to. But I am still kind of sad that it's such a rare occurrence for someone to use the right pronouns on me. They're right there on my profile.

I could just tell them hey I'd like for you to use it on me more often but I fucking hate confrontation and conversations regarding pronouns are always uncomfortable for me. My friends are all sweet wonderful people too and I feel they'd understand but I just don't know how I'd even go about it. I don't want to make them feel bad.

I just- I don't know it's just something I felt the need to get off my chest, it's been lingering for a while. :[
