tbh, this actually links to my earlier ask where I said I left the P5 fandom. People got waaaaaaaay too invested and militant about top/bottom positioning in a ship and I find it extremely off putting. It's perfectly fine to have a preference and avoid that which you don't like, that's fine, that's curating your fandom space, but you get some people who take it to the extreme and try imposing their views on others (or being really belligerent about it).

the top/bottom shipwars, the discourse... I'm too old for that now... I've done my time in the shipwar trenches in the early 2000s...

15. that one thing you see in fanart all the time

hmm, well, admittedly, I am a bit nitpicky when it comes to scarring in ac6 character designs. I know people use it as a shorthand to say "THIS PERSON'S BEEN IN SOME WARS... THEIR BODY IS DAMAGED...." and visually they do look very cool and nice! I do enjoy a good scar showcase, but I suppose on the other hand, I feel like a lot of the time they seem very... window dressing.

How did they get those scars? Why do they have them? What're their feelings about them? Idk if it's bc I'm a writer so I think a bit too much about these things, but an example would be with Rusty where I gave him very extensive burn scars and these play a foundational role in his personality and backstory, even if Rusty himself doesn't think overly much about them. When you get characters that have scars kinda. there. i usually sit there and wonder how they got them, their thoughts and feelings, if they feel nothing? was it traumatic? etc

BUT PEOPLE CAN DO WHAT THEY WANT. They can make their characters scar city I'll lap it up all the same. It's more of a nitpick than an outright criticism, because I make judicious use of the block/mute/unfollow button whenever I encounter fanart stuff I dislike, so I geniunely can't think of anything that stands out to me as smth I see often that I dislike or have criticism towards :ua

18. it's absolutely criminal that the fandom has been sleeping on...

the possibility of a c-wave body snatching an augmented human's body via the augmented human suffering a "death of the self" and the c-wave managing to take over by their coral implants but the c-wave not realising this bc the whole experience was very traumatic so the c-wave thinks they're the human and anyway i think that's a very interesting scenario don't you think (kicks apv under the bed)

reflecting on the little conflict a few days ago and why i engaged in the first place instead of just unfollowing, and honestly, i think what bothered me wasn't the comparison of trans-ness to "birth defects" (still an ableist term imo, but in fairness, i'm unaware of any alternatives) so much as...

ok, so i'm also a lesbian. if i had a bigger follower base and it largely consisted of lesbians, and i started posting about how i felt like my lesbianism was something i had to overcome, and "encouraging" other lesbians by telling them that it wasn't hopeless and that if we wanted, one day we could be straight and live normal lives (i don't think mspec sexualities are a parallel to cis-ness here)... i would expect to get some pushback, and rightfully so

i don't think this was her intention (i'm not trying to ~cancel~ anyone here), but to my eye, op framed the process of transitioning almost as a form of conversion therapy that would help her turn from trans to cis, and that completely rubbed me the wrong way, because to me, while not every trans person needs to transition, transitioning is an affirmation of one's trans-ness, not a rejection of it

the more i think about it, the more i think it's weird as hell that among trans people, these attitudes are often treated as a matter of how one individually engages with their trans-ness. this level of self-loathing isn't normalized to such an extent in any other community i'm aware of, and imo it's less of a personal issue than a cultural one.

and it really pushes my buttons, because that fucking sucks! a lot of us are gonna have self-loathing, but imo it, not trans-ness, *is* something to overcome, and while nobody can make that happen overnight, i do think it's important for the community to be poking at it and questioning it and refusing to let it lie unexamined, not so they can force you to be trans in a specific way, but so you can find your way out and begin to engage with trans-ness on your own terms, without the baggage of cisnormativity pinning you down

idk, does that make sense? i can't decide if i was right to speak up or if i was being a cop/busybody, but those are basically my feelings and the basic set of assumptions that i had going into it. i'm still uncertain of whether the actual act of butting in was appropriate.

Tumblr I have been awake for an hour, I am not in the mood for this bullshittery just yet... Do I have to start unfollowing people to get less post on my dash before Tumblr manages to show me everything I haven't seen yet???

Really tired with Tumblr rolling in new posts before I'm done with the previous ones cos there are only two options after that: either roll down through your dash one more time and see everything for the second time in order to see new old content OR click posts with the XKits "show on my dash" rewind button WHICH only shows like 10 posts at a time, tons of tracked tags posts and often lots of posts with filtered tags so there's nothing ACTUAL to see.

In general I feel like. I don't know what I even do on Tumblr anymore. Everything is so sexualized and I am suffering as an ace, I have filtered SO MANY tags and still something always comes through. Can't filter the word "sex" because then every lgbt+ related post also gets filtered because they often contain the word -sexual in them. Cos, you know, it's even part of my OWN: asexuality.

People often tag nsfw content well but Tumblr's filtering system loves to break on such content. So even that doesn't always help. And then there is the... new? phenomenon of nsfw jokes that are not even nsfw for allosexuals probably but they are really bothering for someone who is sex-repulsed. Like, I don't have a problem with the themes itself, I only have a problem when I'm EXPOSED to those themes without asking. And nowadays it's a huge problem on my dash.

I can't browse tags anymore. I can't find neutral content. Everything is sexualized or shippy. 90% of the tracked tags content on my dash is filtered out because they contain words like "kiss" or so. Often they are fanfiction posts. There's no way to filter out content like that so that it wouldn't even APPEAR on my dash. I have unfollowed lots of tags because the content there is just not something I feel comfortable seeing. And the rest is headcanons, or slamming random identities on characters or even real people.

Idk, I have been on this website since 2011 and I feel like I have actually grown out of what Tumblr is all about. I'm no longer enjoying it here. 80% of the content on my dash is filtered but I don't want to unfollow all those people because some are my friends and some are mutuals and it would feel almost like, idk, deleting a phone number. I don't know if there is a way to like, hide a person/blog from your dash without actually unfollowing them. I know it's possible to make XKit hide all the filtered posts but I still prefer seeing those because Tumblr's filtering system is not the best and it will also filter posts I want to see, just because some filtered word is in someone's url. So clicking "show it anyway" can be "I don't know what did I even expect" or "but why tf is this filtered???"

And then there is the issue that I can't post my art here anymore because it only makes me angry when artists and creators here are always ignored. And with memes etc. my sense of humour is too old for this website and most don't get it, so it's the same if I just keep everything to myself.

Anyhow. I think Tumblr is anyway consuming too much of my time. Maybe I should just. Start unfollowing people. Or try to control the time I use on this website better. If I'm not enjoying, why am I here after all? But I guess what's happening here is: I am addicted to this website. The little numbers there are an instant serotonin and dopamine boost. And it's just the numbers for my dash, I hardly get any asks or anything. So we're at really low now. It did so good last year when I had this 2 week pause from Tumblr. Not going to take a pause, but maybe seriously trying to reach the mindset that I do not need to actually see every single post on my dash ever. And if I do need, then I have to start unfollowing or something because literally, I had to even filter the tag for one of my fave bands because the content there was going way over my head and I think I'm too old and too asexual for this website where everyone else (except most of the other aces) are horny on main 24/7...

There is also my friend shayla_mitchel (on Wattpad) she writes a lot about Patrick and she Helps me a lot with my work (plus she is the one who correct the English version, since my translations aren't always the best) (by that I mean : it's sometimes, when the moon is in good therms with Neptune, good enough) (in my language it's fun. I swear) there are those Cosplayers on tik tok, mostly fezilius and Synthestron, moonshine4snails, tarondactyl and aphelion (they're cosplaying with their friends, if you have time watch they're works, even if they don't do only It contents, they're really good Cosplayers that I love) (i just noticed I've mentioned only male/nb Cosplayers, so I add cospla.natro (on Instagram and tik tok) and Ligeia.cosplay (on Instagram and tik tok too) and there is also the reddie videos of kmcarras (on Instagram)

I still don't know how to put links in her (I'll try to figure out while answering) the leach series of Fuji09 (mentioned above) on AO3. A fic called When you say my name by YoungDumbandFullofHeadcanons on AO3 (really a jewelry, but a lot of tw, mostly of transphobia, be careful and take care) and a hard one called "a lot of marshmallow" by MeganRosenberg on AO3 (apparently) kinda hard because it's a violent one. There was others like Above and bellows (I think) i can't find it back to mention, I think the author deleted it.

I'm really proud of the fonction I'm currently writing, even if it's a fiction with an OC and I'm a little ashamed of that(because people judge that a lot). (As said before not posted yet) and my tik toks about Richie and patrick (the two last I've posted.

It's now 3am, and I haven't finished, my phone Will probably get out of power before the end XD (like this I'll see if Tumblr have some automatics saves)

HOW STRICTLY DO YOU FOLLOW CANON? — (Because I started to RP Minato when there’s wasn’t much games where he didn’t have his personality shown yet(2015) I based him off more from the Manga’s interpretation of him, But now canon wise in terms of Personality, I still tend to use mostly his Manga personality, but now I’ve added a few small tidd-bits of how he is in the movie and how he is depicted in both PQ’s as well as Dancing In Moonlight.)

Minato is a food loving and very random dork who tends to be quiet and stoic 88% of the time, but he’s very kind, he always puts his friends before himself, he tries his very best to be the best leader he can possibly be and he is an all around easy person to get along with, just expect him to zone out here and there, to sometimes be very weird, VERY random. And expect him to randomly start snacking a lot x3 )

(He can sometimes have a tendency to overthink things waaayyyy too much and if it’s really eating at him a lot, it will permanently plague the back of his mind. WHAT INSPIRED YOU TO RP YOUR MUSE? — (I guess it was how I saw him when I read the Manga. I played P3 FES first, then after beating it, I wanted to read the manga as soon as I found out about it. I also think it was the fact he dies and seeing how his friends grew up without him, it made me really want to see what it would be like if he survived, I guess I felt his death at the end of the game was just a real shame, I suppose I thought he would have been a great character to bring back in future Persona games, I understand the reason for his death and I have nothing against it. It was just that thought I had of “Man Minato could have been so much more if he survived” that drove me to pick him up )

WHAT KEEPS YOUR INSPIRATION GOING? — (Well, I’ve been in the Persona fandom for 5 years now. Before when I came back, I wasn’t getting many rp’s. But ever since I came back and found an active Fuuka(MinaFuu is a ship I rarely got to rp) so that started it back up, and then it was seeing all these familiar faces(Or blogs in this case xD) come back, my motivation has been through the roof. So I guess the revival of the fandom and the wonderful people of the Persona community has fueled my fire and it keeps on burning for more!)

I’ve had a few people tell me they like my portrayal. So I must be doing something right?)

And as much as I like that, I always rather like to RP more AUs because as much as I like Fuuka being the way she is in the game, her personality seems kinda bland. I make her more sassier and have her be more confident personality wise.

Yes, she’s learning how to cook and be more feminine, but as can wow guys with her technological prowess! She can fix phones, headphones, you name it! She’s loves to listen to people and give advice, no matter what. She will be there for you and be willing to do anything for you, give or take.

She’s really shy and bashful whenever a guy, or girl, compliments her. Fuuka takes on a lot of responsibilities and wants to do everything herself. She can’t handle confrontation wells because, well, look at what happened with her and her bullies.

WHAT INSPIRED YOU TO RP YOUR MUSE? — I played P3P in college and I got a personal blog on Tumblr and saw people RPing--and I got to saw interactions with Akihiko and Junpei first of all. I was interested and asked about what they were doing. And once I played Minato’s side of P3P, and then Minako’s, and back to Minato’s, I was very much in love with Fuuka. I think my brother-in-law’s girlfriend told me about how there wasn’t many Fuukas on Tumblr, so I gave her a shot because I knew she wasn’t very interesting to others and well...that was that. Also, I could relate to her in the sense of her shyness and being bullied.

WHAT KEEPS YOUR INSPIRATION GOING? — Whenever RPers tell me my Fuuka is one of the best, that I show her a lot of love and that it’s contagious. And when people enjoy having me and her around, I get really happy and I feel welcomed again. Also, it helps when you RP ships that you like or wanna try out and it actually works out--//cough cough// Shinji and Fuuka //cough cough//--and other people like it too, it’s interesting and keeps me motivated tbh.

You are triggering yourself and should probably not be following that blog.

So people have probably noticed lately a lot of my distress over stuff... leaking onto this blog from my vent one, and just in general.

Awhile ago, I noticed whenever I wrote posts about idk, birth control, pregnancy, vaginas in general, that I would write this big long post and halfway down it would devolve into like, really horrible self mutilation fantasies and BOY THAT IS WEIRD AND PROBABLY INAPPROPRIATE, but the reason became apparent that the posts were in fact, dysphoria triggers and even though my reaction was trying to explain my position or something, it was still a triggered emotional response barely in my control.

It's pretty easy to spot that, because in when you type out some gorey bullshit in your post about birth control, that is kind of jarring and you notice that At which point I delete half the post or the whole post and just leave it alone. But other stuff is harder because again, you are simply typing out your argument and it's still coherent, you might not notice anything off at all.

So recently a friend pointed out, that there was a trend in who was involved in posts pissing me off, and that some I don't know so well might be intentionally trolling with the way they are making posts. I started blacklisting a lot more words, some usernames, removing entire topics from my feed and I think I realized something.

Even if the posts on my dash are AGREEING with my views, the mentions or inclusion in the post of people arguing the other side get taken on some level, like an attack because it's a trigger. It's usually specifically "this was literally used to abuse me before" stuff, it's a rage button. Some part of the post will often specifically be an actual attack even.

There are entire blogs on this site dedicated to calling out behavior, some of which is 100% justified and deserve calling out. But if you for example, follow a blog dedicated to calling people out for thinking it's ok to send artists death threats as an artist outraged by that behavior, how much of your dash now has posts that include that and reminds you how many awful people hate you?

People talk a lot about how this site creates echo chambers by following people who agree with your, but I don't think people think about the echo chambers created by people agreeing with you but reblogging posts that don't, or making posts about how all these people don't agree and are awful for it, and what it does to your mental state when there are enough of those posts on your dash.

Anyway, my point is, I'm pretty sure half the people I blacklisted/unfollowed are even stuck in this trap where they are just being triggered by turning their dashes into "look at this person who disagrees with you, what an asshole, they don't think you are a person" and it just drives you to defend yourself even if it means being an asshole about it. So the result is even the people who AREN'T being stupid and bringing this on themselves, hell, they might not follow a single blog devoted to this and just have their friends posting upsetting dismissive shit that is doing it, are just triggering themselves by existing on this site.

The thing that has been upsetting me more then any one subject lately, is how much of my dash has devolved into discourses that even when not actively vicious, are catty dismissive shots at people. People intentionally ignoring other people's points of views because any disagreement on x is a personal attack. Even if you aren't writing "you triggered me how dare you" or even are one of the people MOCKING PEOPLE WHO ACT THAT WAY, doesn't mean that your posts aren't implying that with the way you are acting.

Yes it sucks to unfollow people, especially mutuals and friends, who have mostly good posts for a handful of upsetting ones. It feels bad to blacklist friends usernames because you just cannot take it anymore. But the fact is mentally I am doing better because I decided this wasn't worth it. I am perfectly willing to have disagreements and arguments, but the way most of them are on this site right now most are framed as personal attacks. "All the people who disagree with me are <uncharitable and probably offensive to suggest thing>" shit. That is not a conversation, it goes nowhere, I often end up blocking people because there is nothing you can do when every time you ask people to consider they might be hurting the people who disagree the response is basically "I don't care because they deserve it".

And no, before the inevitable OP CLEARLY MUST HATE BEING CALLED OUT AS A BIGOT, I mean idk, shit like "person with a disability" vs "disabled person" as a personal identifier or something grade disagreement, where it is literally personal preference and experience based on which side has been an asshole to you more. I mean shit that means "safe spaces" are the most ironic thing to call communities on this site because I literally going to get a less scary reaction to criticizing psych care FROM MY FUCKING THERAPIST then I have gotten for untagged personal posts on a vent blog.

What the fuck good is community support when it's just as hostile and dismissive as the people outside the communities? I have spent years trying to put views of people who disagree with me on things on my dash, and plenty of that stuff is still here and not bothering me. I've had like 3 red flags for actual offensive in my feeds the last couple days and none of them hurt as bad as your own group claiming saying you exist is some conspiracy by oppressors to hurt them and being unable to avoid it unless you avoid community support all together.

So yeah, do you feel attacked? are you sure? Have you turned off anon? Have you blacklisted the angry thing? A lot of people on this site even people proudly calling themselves positive progressive people are in fact nasty little trolls who take glee in fucking with people who disagree with them to feel better about themselves. Like seriously, go through your dash and take tallies of the posts upsetting you, how many are reblogged by the same people, who could just be in the same hell trigger state as you but still are putting that shit all over your dash and upsetting you.

And refusing to avoid it out of guilt just makes more upset emotional people to blow up at each other it’s just not worth it man. Get rid of it.
