Hi, yeah, I saw your sign that days NO VACANCY in big blue neon letters right at eye level, but I decided to come into the motel office and ask for a room anyway. What do you mean you're booked up for the holiday weekend? Don't you know that's when all the tourists come down? You should really keep some rooms open for tourists. I've been on the road for 6 hours trying to get here, and didn't bother to call ahead or book anywhere in advance. I'm very smart.

I worked 48 hours in the last 4 days. And I don't mean desk work. I mean walking about 10 miles per day, carrying water buckets, shoveling, using broken equipment, wrangling stupid horses, making tough decisions about weather and sick animals, getting covered in mud, horse slobber, and hay, sweating my ass off in January because the planet is dying or whatever, WHILE ALSO doing stuff like resolving customer issues and being a good host. That was the toughest work weekend of my life even if I do enjoy the work. My energy level is -5000 after that. I am burned out like a used sparkler.

good thing I get today off to get some illustration client work done lmao.

(btw there's a new manager now who actually pays me overtime now. They're also supposedly trying to hire another person but they could hurry up with that.)
