ok. to start I have never watched a basketball game in my life. idk the rules. they play with balls ok thats all ik. but that didnt stop me from loving jokić <3

I learned about him through instagram videos of his interviews where he said stuff like “the parade is tomorrow? I want go hooome” and “I mean, nobody likes their job, if they say they do theyre lying” so at first I was like haha silly basketball player, best in the league, treats the sport like an office job clocking in from 9 to 5

THEN I discovered his love of horses, how he races them and gets very excited when he won a race, and how he sometimes scouts for horses on the clock (during practice)

So. why am I crazy about him.

Hes selfless, to a self-depricating degree. He likes to make his teammates laugh with jokes and help elevate their play and even when hes praised he spins it around. When HE was handed THE NBA CHAMPIONSHIP TROPHY he said he won it for JAMAL. NOT HIM, HIS TEAMMATE.

Even his playing style, he recently got the achievement of 2nd most career assists in nba HISTORY. and he said “assist makes two people happy, a point makes one guy happy.” When making decisions he always puts his teammate’s happiness first, and thinks of himself dead last. HE DOESNT CARE FOR HIMSELFFF

He really doesnt like being famous. Many say hes the best basketball player in the league rn, but he hates the popularity that comes with it. He really wants the spotlight to shine on his teammates, not him. He said in an interview that after he retires, he would like to be forgotten. read that again. HE WOULD LIKE TO BE FORGOTTEN.

Hes a self-sacrificing horsegirl who wants to disapear, and also happens to be the best basketball player in the world. Hope that answers your question.

What would be your #1 advice for someone trying to make their own fanclans? Making a WC styled world and while the clans got destroyed, some traditions and such got passed down and im struggling to think of anything. And, are there any ideas for clan culture you haven't been able to use/doesnt fit in but that you really like?

Don't be afraid of setting rules for yourself. Picking themes, an ending, a hard location, and then sticking to it, can REALLY help get ideas rolling.

I think a lot of writers have a strange commitment to the idea of "letting the characters decide" the story or wanting ultimate freedom, but... I think that is actually a very bad idea to start off with. You can always change it later if it stops being helpful! But necessity really is the mother of invention. Humans LOVE breaking rules, but first you need rules to break at all!

So... where did your Clans go? What was their journey like? What caused the original clans you mentioned to fall apart at all?

If you were a parent cat passing on this story to your kitten, what would you say and how would you say it? What would be the lesson you want the child to learn? How do you emphasize that part of the parable when you tell this story?

Anyway, in terms of stuff I'd like for Clan culture that just doesn't fit... for a fanclan that evolved into something no-longer-a-fanclan I had cats riding domestic turkeys. God those turkeys were helpful. Their eggs, the speed, the horsegirl subculture... never been able to apply that to Clan Culture because that society was waaaay too far removed from the canon clans.

OH and bronzeworking. That's WAAAAAY out of the hands of canon-adjacent clans but I learned so much about early bronzework.

keeper gang pulls a heist how successful do you think they are

I don't know much about heist type situations, but I'd say they... they tried. it'd be going good, they'd get what they're after, then something goes wrong. they get away safely though. probably.

they'd probably plan beforehand, pick positions and decide who's all going- it would just probably be the original 5 plus tam + linh, for efficiency. (im sorry 3/4 horsegirls + wylie + jensi)

sophie was difficult to place, cos she could probably do any major roll and it'd fit, but she's probably small enough to fit in the comically large heist vents, so she's making her way over to the goal that way.

dex does that thing he did with the buildings back in neverseen, so everythings a bit crazy, but the. guards? probably? and sensors are distracted so people can slip past. he's in the vents with sophie. crawling.

keefe's probably disguised as. one of the guards? depending on the kind of heist? because he has experience with pretending the be the "enemy" so he can pass decently with it- that way, he could also get close to see peoples emotions and know if they get caught that way.

Tam's wiggling his way over through the shadows, he's supposed to keep an eye on keefe so if he messes up, he can save him. they did not think that part of the plan through enough. he went into the vents as well.

biana's vanished obvi, making her way over as quietly as possible, she's probably the closest to the whatever they're getting, by sheer girlboss power alone. also vanishing.

linh is on lookout duty, she'll alert the group if there's trouble and is the backup plan if things go wrong. take that as you may.

Fitz is the getaway driver, when things inevitably go wrong, he's got the stupid big car ready with his foot already on the gas pedal. he would be going stupid fast and people would be screaming. he'd get the job done tho.

im thinking they get caught by either keefe being too sus and the guards going 🧐 OR one of the besties falls out of the vents on top of someone.

ooo ok i used to be a HUGE theatre kid and boy i would be a horsegirl furry theatre kid swiftie if i didnt go through the torment nexus so my theatre knowledge ends around 2012 and i never got into it beyond that. i used to do ballet and singing and stuff and we sang a lot of old showtunes. heres a list of some i remember ^_^

i loved mary poppins cos they did a tour in australia and i saw it TWICE and we had the cd and i listened to it heaps.

i was in a production of the king and i when i was like 7 (they needed asian looking kids to fill out the cast) and even though that musical is uh. Controversial. it has a place in my heart cos of nostalgia<3 i still got the lyrics to getting to know you somewhere in my damn head

i liked annie too, i auditioned for it but didnt get in cos i didnt do a terrible new york accent which i guess it what they were looking for 🙄 carol burnett miss hannigan i need you

i love all the disney musicals<3 i can still sing the entirety of colours of the wind and part of your world and i think all the lion king and frozen songs

sound of music we had it taped off the tv on vhs so i watched it a bunch

1. Du ddu du: best raps, had a atual dance break, the hype during that era was unparalleled this was their first global hit ,basically but them on bullet proof boyscouts level

2.boombayah: the girls had one chance to prove to their company they were the new it girls and they did. lisa's rap outsold. jennies rap outserved. rose was on the sliding on the floor jisoo was a visual all was well. birthed blackpink in your era and i cannot lie "i dont need a boy i need a man" had me gobsmacked

3.So hot remix: technically is a single and not a comeback but i said i was ranking singles so get off my dick. the only reason teddy hasnt given blackpink an actual comeback like this is because he's afraid of success? i guess? has one of the least cringe english raps in their discography. like theyd actually body this. this remix came in the middle of a drought and got more streams than the original song in months. absolutley insane. hell they could probably still release it, just give jisoo lines and add a dance break omg.

4. Sour candy: technically not even blackpinks song but lets be honest it is. well its rose's really and we all know out of the 4 girls rose and lisa are the only ones really trying anymore at this point. once again if bp had a song like this they would devour. it would top the charts (deservingly) the reason its not higher on the ranking is because lady gahgah is on there, sorry ma'am

5.Playing with fire: she gave. everything. choreo was engaging, lyrics were deep. raps were slaying. everyone sounded good and this is the last time all of the members were seen trying during live stages. if bp released a song like this today blinks would cry tears of joy.

6. love sick girls: their last truly amazing song theyve put out to date basically manufactured in a lab to be a hit and it was.

7.whistle: its odd seeing whistle divorced from her sister boombayah but im gonna be honest here she has strong line distribution, good rapping but jennies vocals on the chorus never rlly hit for me. she sounds like shes straining, especially the bridge. honestly in my opinion they shouldve kept the demo version iykyk

8. Stay: i feel like people forgot about her. this is the only time bp released a slow song as a single. its very christian horsegirl music which was perfect for rose. i wonder if bp wouldve been better off releasing songs like this and their regular uptempo dance pop songs so that way they would have more depth as a group. but that would require actual effort from yg. bp has such a obvious formula for a lot of their songs that even when they try to break it it ends up more of the same *see, shutdown*

10. sure thing cover: ok i know im fucking pushing this it wasnt even a single but im putting it here because bp couldve benefitted from having a song like this in their discography

11.forever young: on the technicality forever young was promoted on music shows i will count it as a single. shes ok. i put her over kiss and make up simply because she has a dance break

12. Kiss and make up: technically dula peepas song but bp did good so im keeping it here.

13. Ice cream: npt as bad as people say it is its just painfully basic and selena didnt rlly add much but i digress.

14.pink venom: as soon as i heard it i knew they were going for early 2000s late 90s throwback vibes so i didnt hate it like everyone else what can i say i have the mind of a mastermind it was still a let down after waiting so long for a single though

15.as if its your last: i know the pinks hate this song it was the only new thing they had to perform for like two years.

16.ready for love: whew the hype for this song died so fast. its not even bad just forgettable

17. shut down: i will give the song this, the lyrics actually are catchy. the melody of the chorus was stuck in my head after the 2nd listen which is strange since its a lackluster song. rapper jisoo showed up which was a welcome surprise. the english raps left a lot to be desired.

18. awesome screen awesome camera: yes i put an ad with just lisa and rose here to make the number on the list even, and yes this samsung jingle is still better than kill this loveand hylt

19. kill this love: the first time(and not the last) i remember being truly disappointed by a bp comeback.

Spirit: Untamed

On its own

It follows the horsegirl movie formula, nothing surprising or new but if it is not broken why fix it.

Lucky, Abi and Pru are likable and have a believable relationship, it helps they are on that weirdgirl age in which you only needed to say “Hey, I like horses” and boom sisters for life

The town was cute and it was paced well, the palette is pretty but its based on the original movie

The wind motif and Lucky being lucky, their spanish was very good! it took me off sometimes because it sounds so natural

The models, there is something about them, the hair. They see lower quality than what we usually get from Dreamworks but it is understandable, they need money, this franchise is a safe bet so I cant blame them

It saddens me we can never get a horsegirl movie about mother-daughter, it would be refreshing to the genre

Now the bad, one important pilar on horsegirl movies is rebelling against their father because he forbids them to ride because of what happened to the mother, start riding in secret and be happier and thus connecting with their father, then doing something dangerous similar to what the mother did and connecting with her and we didn't got any of that, Lucky’s relationship with her father is barely there and she still knows nothing about her mother, to be fair she never seemed to be interested

Oh boy, the method and how fast they show a Mustang, a wild horse be tamed is concerning. Im not going to be as harsh because 99% of the population will never even see a wild horse so the chances of someone attempting to do it is very low but woah so dangerous!

Chasing bandits, jumping trains (Lucky is a world class jumped it seems), rising without a saddle even without experience, befriending wild mustangs, rising a wild horse, horse jumping, lasso, and fighting a bunch of grown up men, criminals on your own. Wild.

As a sequel / part of the same universe

They kept the horse designs! I loved that but they looked weird at some angles

The color palette <3

Shot for shot recreations from the first movie, too many to name

Freedom and wind as a theme and motif

They let Spirit be FREE! I was worried about this, kudos to them

Now the bad, even if we understand Dreamwork’s reasons for making this we can ignore how it totally ignores the themes and what made Spirit a great movie. Spirit is about a young wild stallion who in his curiosity and arrogance gets captured by the US cavalry, and immediately they are painted on a bad light, they want to tame Spirit, they want to tame the west, even thought they both came from Europe, the horses accepted the freedom and the wild, and so Spirit finds his equal in Little Creek, they share a journey and meanwhile Little Creek tries to tame him too, he accepts he cant and lets him free.

There is also the subplot of the train rails and how they will destroy Spirit’s herd home, continuing the US domestication of the wild West instead of coexisting with it like the NA, plus it takes away the focus and protagonism from them (!!), I don't want to explain the entire movie but the point is: Spirit Untamed does not touch the same themes nor it does touch them with the same deepness or tries to.

I know I said this in my original Shuu hcs post but I feel like we need to discuss his horsegirl energy.

So yeah:

Shuu Tsukiyama Horsegirl Headcanons:

-Tokyo isn’t very horse-friendly, so I imagine he doesn’t have a horse at his personal estate (definitely has a peacock there tho), but his dad probably has abt ten horses at his estate.

-That being said, I can totally see Shuu riding his favourite horse around the city.

-The Tsukiyamas probably have lots of holiday homes around Japan and probably in other parts of the world, and I just imagine there being random horses in these estates. They’re probably used as working horses when the Tsukiyamas aren’t there.

-These estates have SO MUCH land. It is everywhere. Just land. Greenery. Everywhere. These horses are fucking royalty dammit. And you can fucking bet he uses this expansive land for writing poetry or some shit too.

-The horses all have fancy European names. Probably named after European monarchs or flowers.

-They’re all purebred and probably Arabian or unicorns or *insert other expensive horse breed bc im not a horsewhore*.

-Shuu’s mother was probably big on equestrian horse, hence the family interest.

-Shuu tried to compete once but then he read the statistics and cried bc the morality rate of racing horses is awful.

-Shuu was a lonely kid, so he’d confide in his horses and take them out.

-He probably tried to get Hori to photograph his favourite horses.

-They have loads of horses, a whole herd for almost every estate, so there’s gonna be babies. Mirumo’s probably very hands-on in the birthing process, whilst Shuu just kinda…watches. For the support, you know?

-Father-son bonding time with new foals???

-I love the idea of Baby Shuu’s first obsession being horses. Like, horse-furniture, horse clothes, he even tried to sneak a foal into his bedroom bc why can’t horses go in the house?

-Got bullied to shit bc of the horse thing, so eventually dropped it (this one’s sad, sorry), he continued it secretly tho.

-When a family horse dies, there is devastation. Horse-funeral. Horse statues to remember all the horses. Horse graveyards. These fuckers probably even taxidermy their best steeds.

-✨romantic horse rides✨

-Anyone who doesn’t like horses is banned from all the estates. All of the servants have to be good with horses or they’re not allowed to work there.

-Weird horse byproduct artefacts.

-This could be my veganism talking, but; the Tsukiyamas are very vegan when it comes to horses. Like they’d make perfume out of whale vomit, but horse glue is a big no-no.

-Shuu was traumatised by the France horse-meat scandal. Refused to speak French for like three months. And it didn’t even effect him at all.

TLDR: Horses are sacred beings that must be protected at all time. I had way too much fun with this and idc what any of u shits say; Tsukiyama family is 100% horsegirl.

im gonna start this year actually watching the horse drawing tutorial series i bought some months ago but didnt have enough spoons (meaning energy) to study from!!!

i mean ill prob only get thru a part of the first vid but i want to try to get through the whole series over the next months and improve at drawing and modelling horses!!!!!!!

i will fill out my own horse art style meme too while i study, but it might take a while ofc. basically everything for me takes like 100 times more time and energy than it does for someone whos not sick, so when i say like “ill try doing x challenge” or “heres my to-do list” its with keeping in mind that even if i aim to do something in 1 month it might take 10 months.... but this is fine all that matters is that im alive!

all that matters is our health, at the end of the day thats all we have, so make sure to get enough sleep, water and nutrients in 2021. its ok to skip school or be late on work or whatever it may be if you need that break to protect your health. its ok to not reply to people if you feel like you cant and you need a social break. its not your fault if you feel exhausted or have anxiety. love and protect yourself this year!!!

also if all u rly care about is horses thats ok!!! i just want to put this here bc honestly it took me so long to fully realise that im still as much of a horsegirl (old man) as i was when i was 8 and in the past couple years ive been actively reading horse fiction books targeted to kids (and ofc most horse games r targeted to kids too) bc it makes me happy. u dont have to feel weird about being “childish” whether its about horses or any other interest. just enjoy urself and love what u love.

and if anyone set a new years resolution about things i happen to know about like drawing, animation, 3D, and other random creative stuff lol, feel free to write to me if u feel stuck or need help! i like talking about projects and im one of those ppl who watches a million tutorials and am good at finding information (bc high Te out of being intj dfkjhg) so i can help u find tutorials or other resources u need if u struggle with a creative interest ❤️

My brain is a unique creature, a wily beast almost like a horse in the beginning of every horsegirl movie except I do not have a gentle girl giving me oats to nibble, just bills and depression.

Today was one of those days that started at 3am where I said, "Tomorrow I am going to get my life together!" For the beast was roaring to go, ready to leap over every obstacle before me with only the gentlest nudge of my mane. But it was 3 am and horses can't see in the dark and also run on their fingernails, horse anatomy is real fucked up. They literalyl run on their finger nails what the hell, how did they survive this long they lungs can like bleed from running too fast but horses literally just run fast what the hell. In other words, horses can be bad at horsing and that is why this is a perfect, if convoluted, analogy for my brain.

Anywho, fast forward to 10am, my alarm goes off, a reasonable time to be awake. But no, the horse is asleep and will kick anything that tries to disturb it. In this case it is my phone onto the ground and I blissfully sleep on.

ONE THIRTY PM ROLLS AROUND and the horse decides that it is hungry and should eat Now. "but horse," I say, "we must go down to the kitchen to receive the nutrients." But no! The horse has now decided that going downstairs is too hard and we are too hungry and now we must lie down and die. You know how they kill horses when they break a leg? Yeah it's cuz their legs are so fragile despite the fact that they literally run super fast on those legs and that's why the legs look like that in the first place. Unlike a horse, my brain does not cease to exist at the slightest inconvenience, like a horse, it separately tries to.

And so, I finally drag my shambling corpse down the stairs only to discover there is no good left except crackers and bad salami. I eat the crackers and bad salami like a desperate mustang being shown kindness for the first time. And immediately go lay down because that was Too Much and now we needed to wait 3 (three) business days for the next action.

I lay down, and unlike a horse I have access to Tumblr and browse the calamity of the internet. Like a horse, I assume, it brings me no pleasure, I am a restless being, trapped in a small stable, begging to do something. So I go to the kitchen and ask, "can I please have some spoons to wash the dishes?" But the horse is selfish and holds all the spoons in its mouth refusing to part with even one. "Fine." I say, I see this is not a battle I am going to win nor one im that inclined to fight. So I go back upstairs and open my computer with the one spoon that the horse has seemed to allow to fall from its mouth.

Despite now having a Bigger Internet Box, nothing pleases the horse. Even the newest Jenna marbles video brings only the smallest flicker of joy to the lifeless eyes of the horse. So I say, "how about we watch myth busters? You're a horse. I assume horses like explosions (the metaphor gets a bit lost here) and that will occupy us even more. And I let you go on the Smaller Internet Box at the same time." The horse merely scoffs at me, it stares into my eyes, "you dare to think that will tempt me? I have been tempted by better things than that." I wallow in despair before the horse gives a snort. "You may however check your email." And so I do.

Now right now my email is boring and filled with LinkedIn notifications because I'm looking for a job. There is nothing remotely interesting about emails titled "THIS JOB PAYS 78,000$ A YEAR" and then you open the email and it doesn't have any job listing with that title, salary, or company...... And yet... The horse sees this email and immediately drops every spoon and sprints off towards that website. I'm barely hanging on. There is no saddle, there is no preparation, and six hours later I have a new resume with peer review, I have applied to 7 different jobs, and have a lead in job titles to look for.

"this is great!" I say, glad to have completed a rather difficult task. "Okay, horse, you did good, can you manage to get back to the kitchen to eat some more food before we get you all nice and settled in your comfy stable?"

"No." The horse replies. "That was fun, but now I die."

And that is how I managed to apply to a bunch of jobs but only ate 3 crackers and a piece of salami in 24 hours. Thank you for coming to my TEDTalk
