Ideas I have for MLC, a fix-it and another abo fic. Dunno when I'm going to write it but I want to.

1. Time travel - LLH died at the end of episode 40 n suddenly he wakes up at the beginning, 10 yrs before the fight with DFS at the East Sea.

Knowing what he knew now, he heads off years of scheming on Shan Gudao's part and Li Xiangyi aka Li Lianhua ropes A-Fei into going on the adventure to get the karmic mother bug and destroying it.

Since he already knows where the mother bug is, it would save them all a lot of trouble destroying it rather than go to Yipin tomb and hunt down the ice shards.

While he was at it, he might as well help DFS get rid of the mind control that he's suffering from.

DFS is very confused by the change in LXY, who's now less intense, lies non-stop and more flirty with him. (He's not dying now, he's allowed to think about his future with his A-Fei.)

2. Abo - DFS go looking for LXY to challenge him for the first time but arrives at Sigu Sect in time to find out that there's a Groom Selection for the omegas of the sect. Basically, the qianyun aka alphas fight in a tournament for the hand in marriage of their chosen kunze/omega.

Of course, DFS immediately signs up for it. Coz, it's fighting. It's what he does best. Hahaha.

Only he meets and fall for a competitor who introduces himself as Li Lianhua 🤣

Meanwhile, Shi Shui and Qian Wanmian is sitting at the parapet having popcorn going, 'When do you think ppl will realise the no 1 prize is competing with them right now?'

Coz there's no way Li Xiangyi would allow the boys to have all the fun.

Then FeiHua falls in love n DFS wants to forfeit the last fight coz he already found a partner, even though he thought LLH is an alpha. But LLH keeps telling him to stay and finish the competition. Cue the miscommunication where DFS thinks that LLH wants him to marry LXY 😂

At the bridal suite, LXY is dressed to the nines with a veil like in Immortal Samsara and DFS tells him that he's in love with someone else. That person is LLH.

DFS: I just want to fight you! *Pulls off the veil*

LXY: Surprise! But we've already fought! And you won me! 😄

DFS: 😳

Comparable to: Ashes of Love (cdrama) ; Eternal Love (cdrama); Legend of Fu Yao (cdrama); Love and Redemption (cdrama)

It’s a wuxia so it’s a long————long drama broken into two parts equaling 62 episodes (counting the bonus episodes). In my opinion it’s right up there with my favorites like Ashes of Love. Both are so satisfying as heck, and have extremely smexy chemistry between the main leads, also having a meh middle drown out later half. Depending on how you watch it and on what platform you can get different endings. Viki contains all the bonus episodes with one seemless season where on others you sort of have to look for the last to episodes that are six minutes long. Are they worth it. Yeppers.

Rumor is part 2 of Love Like the Galaxy would come out in September and if true whyyyyyy!!!!

They have their license and I cannot believe they were so sloppy with tech post production that it’s gonna take them all this time!!! (Even if they are editing sashes into more acceptable form via cgi magic, that cannot take long!)

Argh!!!

If it wasn’t for my currently obsessing over the supernatural BDSM fest that is Immortal Samsara, I’d be even more irate but as is !!!!!!!!!

I have zero attention span, I would have not only moved on but forgot most of what happened in part 1 before part 2 airs! Also, c-ent is the most uncertain industry ever, what if before it airs someone involved with it get in the crosshairs of the government or netizens for whatever or some topic in it suddenly becomes banned or one of other million things that can befall a cdrama before airing. Aaaaargh whyyyy!!!

I am gonna go stare at pictures of blind and tortured Cheng Yi to calm down.

I'm trying to get into cdramas and lmfaoooo it's been a struggle getting over so many weird things like the dubbing and the fact that episodes don't actually feel narratively like episodes with an end a beginning and a lot of other things I've found a few that were fantastic, the story of ming lan was a masterpiece and story of yanxi palace was fantastic as well. But I've been trying to watch a few others and I'm so confused I know they cut things due to censorship but these dramas don't make sense lmao like I'm trying to watch the long ballad and the way I'm at ep 6 and so many things I'm like??????????? It's not a question of who's who but the fact that they're not presenting a clear narrative now I'm not someone who needs to be fed a story with a spoon but this seems like a writing/directing problem more than a complex storyline idk how to explain it exactly but it happened with other dramas as well where it feels like I'm watching half a show where I skipped scenes or episodes by mistake except I didn't ???? Is this a common thing with cdramas bc I've been watching asian dramas and american shows since I was a kid and I've seen a loooot of them and there have been some good and some bad but this is a new experience where it feels like it's not a question of whether it's good or not we haven't even gotten to that yet, it needs to make a lick of sense first for me to be able to say that like akkdjdhfjf

as a western viewer, there was definitely a learning curve for me when getting into cdramas--particularly ones that are historical or xianxia. there's a couple reasons for that i think. one is that airing schedules work VERY differently with cdramas, where multiple eps drop in one day. in those situations, it's really like a group of eps = 1 days' worth of airing/1 narrative ep as we might see with kdramas or western shows (and why ends of eps can feel more like commercial breaks than actual endings/some eps end literally mid-scene). another is like you mentioned with censorship, which seems particularly egregious over the last handful of years re: cutting eps (some dramas have had THIRTY+ EPS worth of content cut in post-production, and to my knowledge there's now a cap of 40 eps per drama, which has recently lead to more eps getting cut as well as the "split season" longer dramas like love like the galaxy, immortal samsara, the blue whisper, etc.). i know a few plot devices (ex: reincarnation, time traveling i think?) and relationships (lgbt+) are also prone to being censored, which can hurt storytelling when they have to be worked around to pass censorship boards. Executive Meddling is unfortunately really strong in the post-production/editing process.

the other is just a lack of cultural knowledge on my part, which as i watch and follow other blogs ive slowly started learning. i think the long ballad is a tough cdrama for beginners since it's 1) an adaptation of a manhua, and is the case with most adaptations story elements get shortened, moved around, etc. (and i think the original manhua isnt even finished yet? which definitely can hurt the overall storytelling execution) and 2) very grounded in real historical events (like the xuanwu gate incident) that might be common knowledge to a chinese audience but not necessarily to an international one

that said, things like editing, cultural knowledge, etc. aren't unique to just cdrama. i imagine there's tons of western shows that make 0 sense on the international audience scale.
