While the Thorne Hills manor lived up to its name from the outside, on the inside it was in pristine condition. Everything was where it should be, perfect in every sense. Except it was not. I’m obsessed with aesthetics, idk why but I just am. I don’t think it’s something bad? Every now and then I find myself scouring Pinterest for pics to make a collage that I think fits my aesthetic best.

This is just one of those infinite attempts lol.

Lately, I’ve been a lot into Indian Dark Academia. That’s probably because Dark Academia makes me feel left out? I just don’t feel that I fit completely into the whole vibe that it’s going for. On the other hand, Indian Dark Academia gives me a sense of belonging.

I’ve always been into mythology, history, Indian attire (even though I don’t show it much) and stuff like that especially related to my homeland.

No matter how much I wonder about living a life outside this country, something keeps pulling me back to this place. Yes, life isn’t that great here but how do I know that the life abroad will be the one that’ll suit me? People do find the littlest things that make them happy no matter how grim the situation is. Maybe I will too.

I think there’s a lot for me to explore in my homeland first and maybe then I can branch out to other places? Let’s see what my future holds.

Idk how this went from being about my aesthetic to a rant about not wanting to leave India haha.

Coming back to my aesthetic-

I love oxidised silver jewellery,

the intricate patterns of the various cultures of India imprinted on the clothes,

the modern outlook of the authors of what constitutes the Indian Mythology,

the mysteries of the universe,

the burning balls of fire in the dark skies,

a cozy place/state where I feel at home,

the turning of the pages both old and new,

the offbeat movies of Bollywood,

the glorious yet scandalous history of our ancestors,

the bittersweet taste of coffee and life and so much more.

Idk what the point of this post is…isn’t that the case with most of the things in life? You do what you feel, it’s an uncontrollable urge that you give in to and keep coming back to it no matter how hard you resist. I think it’s beautiful. Nothing to be ashamed of at all.
