[FIERI: In an Ethiopian cuisine, it all starts out with the edible flatware. Injera is the Ethiopian form of bread.]

I think the biggest obstacle in preventing society from becoming a utopia is that I cannot be injera from the store like I can tortillas, bread, naan, and pita. Every bread should be available everywhere all the time and we should all introduce ourselves by talking about which of the many breads is our favorite

My favorite food to eat! Ethiopian Cuisine. It so flavorful and delectable everytime. Im vegan, and you will always be happy eating a ethiopian plant based meal. I could literally eat this meal everyday. The food on top are red and green lentil, collard greens, yellow split peas, carrots and green beans and shiro (chickpea sauce). On the bottom is a yeast free fermented bread called Injera. Its sooo good, you eat it with your fingers and just enjoy it in any combo you'd like. 10/10 I highly recommend. Kare Ethiopian Restaurant in Phoenix :)

Ethiopean food on flatbread Injera
Bayenetu is a colorful Ethiopian veggie platter that is traditionally arranged on top of injera (Ethiopian flatbread). It is essentially a sampler plate that is suitable for vegetarians, and the choice of vegetables depends on the restaurant serving the dish.
In most cases, bayenetu includes shiro, puréed red lentils in berbere sauce, yellow peas, spiced collard greens, cabbage, carrots, and potatoes in a flavorful sauce. It is recommended to pair the dish with tej – Ethiopian wine made from fermented honey.

[It's outstanding. -I'll get the misir wot. It has a little bit of punch. Delicious to eat with injera. The spice is off the chain. FIERI: Because the components are as legit as it gets.]

Today I had Ethiopian food for the first time! The lining of the dish is a fermented flatbread called injera made from a grain called teff, which is naturally gluten free*. You use the injera to scoop the different dishes on offer.
It was delicious with lots of richly spiced flavours. Many Ethiopian dishes are vegetarian or vegan so it's a very inclusive food option. Teff is very high in fibre and many minerals too, making it a healthy choice.
*Teff is naturally gluten free, but is expensive outside of Ethiopia and is sometimes cut with barley or wheat flour in restaurants to stretch it. Always check with the restaurant beforehand if you are celiac!
The restaurant we went to was Agelgil on Calendonian Rd in London.
