so i cannot turn off my brain and i'm gonna ride this thought out—
Marilyn Harrington is 14 years old and a freshman. She knows Tommy and Carol from middle school; the three of them are a tight-knit group.
Tommy turns 15 the week after Halloween. He invites as many people as possible; his parents let him have the house to himself, and he has a cousin willing to buy them liquor. It's the biggest party Marilyn has been to; she opted out of going to the Halloween party a sophomore had invited her to so that she could go trick-or-treating. Tommy and Carol had made fun of her for it, and they think she has to make up for it now.
Marilyn doesn't know what she has to drink or how much, but she's with Tommy and Carol, and they're dancing, and it's fun. But then they lose Carol in the crowd and Tommy is bringing her to his bedroom.
She's had too much to fully understand what's going on, but Tommy is on top of her, telling her that he likes her more than Carol. It hurts. Marilyn is crying, would scream if he wasn't keeping a hand over her mouth, would fight him off if she was stronger.
Marilyn stumbles out of Tommy's bedroom ten minutes later; it had been quick, but her clothes aren't on her properly, and everything's spinning, and she feels sick.
A sophomore ends up guiding her to the kitchen and getting her water. It takes Marilyn a moment to recognise Eddie Munson; she doubts he was invited, based on what Tommy has to say about him. Or maybe he was invited to sell. Or by someone else. She doesn't recognise most people at the party.
Eddie's kind; waits for consent before helping her correct her clothes, and holds her hair back when she throws up in the sink. Serves Tommy right to have to clean that up.
In the end, Eddie gives her a ride home.
Marilyn shows up at school that Monday, unable to look at Tommy. She flinches away when he tries to wrap an arm around her shoulders. She doesn't know if she should tell Carol what had happened at the party; Carol's in love with Tommy, and even if they're friends, she has a tendency to be mean. She decides not to, for now. Instead, she tries to find Eddie to thank him, and to have a reason to avoid Tommy. But she's not brave enough to do more than give Eddie a nod and a smile when she finds him; he's with friends, and she doesn't want to interrupt. It doesn't help that it feels like everyone are staring at her, as if they know what happened.
Marilyn tries to move on. To forget. She had a lot to drink, maybe her memories are unreliable. But when two months pass without her period, she does tell Carol. (Marilyn has been regular since she got her period at 12½ years old. Something has to be wrong for her to miss it.)
Carol doesn't want to believe that Tommy would have done something like that, but she does believe her, and comes with as emotional support when Marilyn tells her mum.
Shirley Harrington believes her immediately, and is horrified. (Shirley was not many years older when she got pregnant; she doesn't want Marilyn to have to go through that.)
Abortion comes up, but Marilyn doesn't want that. She's always wanted to grow up and have a family; she's not going to get rid of her child just because she's too young. So instead, her mum pulls her out of school. They agree to not tell her dad the true reason she's going to get homeschooled; he should be away on business for most of the pregnancy.
Marilyn is five months pregnant on her 15th birthday. She celebrate with her mum and Carol; hasn't seen Tommy since she stopped going to school. Hasn't told him about having a kid. She gives birth to a boy mid-July; he's born too early, and oh so small.
Shirley stays home with Edmund so that she can go back to school. Marilyn can admit that when she tried to think of a good name for a boy, only the name of the one that helped her that night came to mind. She decided against Edward to not be too obvious, although calling her son Eddie still makes Carol raise an eyebrow at her.
Marilyn Harrington is 15 years old and a sophomore. She has a baby named Edmund and her only friend is Carol.
There are two freshman girls that they end up befriending; Nancy and Barb. But neither Marilyn or Carol ever mention Eddie around them. Well, not Eddie Harrington. They do talk about Eddie Munson; Marilyn can admit that she has a crush. But nothing will come of it; she needs to focus on her studies.
But by so often studying with Nancy and Barb, Marilyn feels herself falling for Nancy. And by the time she starts junior year, she feels bad about being so close to the girls but keeping her son from them.
John Harrington had thrown a fit when he found out about his grandson, but since Marilyn's pregnancy had been kept under wraps, everyone assumes it was Shirley that had been pregnant. With no scandal, he can simply pretend that he has a son. But it doesn't make him any more interested in staying home. He does get a few days at home in every month, or a week every other month, but he does need to be travelling a lot. And usually its okay for his wife to stay behind; especially with her having a new child as an excuse. Only thing is, Shirley hasn't been seen with him in almost two years now, so he convinces his wife to come with him on his next business trip.
Edmund is 15 months old, so they hire a nanny for the days, and Marilyn can take care of him in the evenings. She's the one who chose to risk bringing shame on the Harringtons by having a child so she can take care of him, according to John.
Marilyn doesn't want to be home alone as a 16 year old single mum, especially not with Will Byers just having gone missing, and she wants Nancy and Barb to meet Edmund. Especially since she and Nancy have been getting close.
The small party is awkward; Marilyn has been keeping a secret their whole friendship. But they cook dinner together, and sit outside by the pool since it's a nice night. Edmund has been put to bed a bit ago, but he wakes up crying. Barb drops her glass at the sudden sound, and cuts her hand when she goes to pick up the pieces. Marilyn gives directions to the bathroom as she goes inside to her son, Nancy following her since she has experience with Holly. Carol takes over getting rid of the glass.
Marilyn and Nancy end up staying in her bedroom once Edmund has gone back to sleep; first talking, then kissing. Then a bit more than kissing but Marilyn puts a stop to it; it didn't feel right for her, not with her son right there.
They go back down to find that Carol has gone to bed in Shirley's room, but Barb isn't there. They're both worried, but maybe she just went home.
November 9. Barb doesn't show up to school but Marilyn can't help looking since she has a son to get home to. Carol hasn't dropped Tommy and so is hanging with him. She's the one who destroys Jonathan's camera; he got a picture of Marilyn holding Edmund, and one of Marilyn and Nancy kissing. She can't have anyone see that, especially not Tommy.
Except Tommy saves the torn up picture of Marilyn and Nancy. He's still angry that Marilyn started avoiding him.
November 10. Marilyn is also worried about Barb, so she encourages Nancy to go to the police. Her dad is unhappy that she let more people know the truth, but that's all.
November 11. Marilyn has gotten Carol to agree to babysit, so she goes to Nancy's just to check up on her, suggests they go see a movie to take their mind off Barb. Accepts that's not what Nancy needs right now and leaves.
Shirley comes back home that evening, so Marilyn is gonna treat Carol to milkshakes as thanks for looking after Edmund, but they stop by Nancy's first since Marilyn wants to check in on her. She does draw conclusions when she sees Jonathan, but maybe Nancy isn't actually into girls. It's fine.
It's not fine; Carol mentions Jonathan to Tommy the next day and he paints the marquee. Marilyn isn't there; Tommy gets into a fight but by calling Nancy a queer, having the picture as evidence. Jonathan is the one to hit Tommy. Carol calls Marilyn later, and Marilyn tells Carol to choose between her and Tommy. Carol choses Tommy, Marilyn decides to make things right so she still drives into town to clean the marquee and then goes looking for Jonathan and Nancy to apologise for her former friends.
Which is how Marilyn faces down a demogorgon and in the life and death situation realises that she's not a she, and never has been, and what felt wrong with Nancy was that they were both girls.
He uses the government hush money to look into transitioning; obviously he needs to talk about this with someone first. But it's always been there, it's just that he became a parent very young and didn't have time to think about his life until he was close to death.
Steve Harrington is 17 years old and a senior. He has a two year old son, and a shaky relationship with Nancy Wheeler. And all he wants is to get back to normal so that he can graduate and find a job; it's a wonder that his dad hasn't thrown him out considering. Steve has his mum to thank for that; Shirley Harrington has been his biggest support throughout everything. And Edmund, but his Eddie is too young to really know what's going on.

Part One of the Newly Wed Game
A few things happened that evening.
The first was Steve quickly came to terms that he knew a lot about Eddie. That made sense. They hung out a lot. He knew a lot about Robin too because he cared about her. The difficult part of this was the fact Eddie knew a lot about him. And how warm inside that made him feel.
It was the way after the game, Steve went for seconds on the hot dogs and Eddie handed him the barbecue sauce and relish without a word. Steve only hesitated for a moment.
The second thing that happened was Steve tried to imagine how he’d feel if a girl he was dating knew all those things about him.
The third thing was trying to imagine Eddie as a girl.
But he didn’t need to. The image was already perfect with Eddie as is.
The fourth thing was a talk. After the barbecue, Eddie drove him and Robin back in his van. Robin was dropped off first and that was the first time Steve spoke up the entire ride.
“Can we talk?”
“Yeah”, Eddie answered easily.
He drove them out to a convenience store. Eddie went inside and Steve thought he’d come back with beers or something but Eddie surprised him with Coke flavored slushies.
“Meet me in the back”, Eddie said through the window. He went through the van’s back door while Steve just climbed through the front. Eddie closed one door, leaving the other open to get a breeze from the warm summer night.
Steve started speaking and it felt so disjointed and chaotic and oh god is this what was going on in Robin’s brain all the time? It was like he was vomiting words and by the end of it he expected Eddie to have either the blank face of someone not following or the bewildered look of someone caught in a verbal storm. Instead he looked, almost contemplative.
“Sooooo, lemme get this straight. You think you might be into me, based on what happened in that game?”
He said it so plainly and succinctly and it made Steve feel like an idiot. But he nodded anyway.
“Dude, I think you’re getting your wires crossed. I mean I know I’ve got the curly locks, but it’s Nancy you should be after.”
“If all it took was curly hair to make me fall I’d be dating Dustin!”, Steve shouted. He kicked his legs a little, hanging off the edge of the van. He was feeling restless. This was new territory and he didn’t know what came next.
“The only reason we did all that was so Nancy would see you’re still boyfriend material.”
“Yeah well, we shouldn’t’ve gotten every question right then”, Steve said.
Eddie’s back was against the side of the van, his legs stretched out right behind Steve. “I kinda lost track of the plan.”
“Why’s it so important to you that Nancy and I get back together?”
Eddie smiled a little before looking away. “Because it just makes sense, man. I mean, nothing against Jonathan, but you and her are like....a couple at the end of the world.”
Steve let out a frustrated laugh. “Is that your way of rejecting me?”
“Has this been your way of coming on to me? And I thought you were flirting royalty.” Eddie had seen Steve in action. He was never this timid about it. He always went for what he wanted.
“I never flirt unless I’m sure the other person is into me to.”
Eddie felt his walls getting weaker. Inside of him there was a mini-Eddie screaming to be let out. I’m into you! I’M into YOU! Flirt with me! Fucking do it!
Eddie pushed it down. Steve already had a high school sweetheart with whom to live his picket fence dreams. And those dreams couldn’t happen with him.
“You and Nancy just make sense.”
“Everyone keeps saying that.” Steve tossed his empty cup to the ground and moved, closing the van door, shutting out the sounds of cars going down the street. “It doesn’t make any sense to me at all.”
And then he straddled Eddie’s lap.
“Steve....what are you doing?”
“Hmm”, Steve moved a bit to get comfortable. “Now see, this makes sense to me. It’s just missing...” Steve moved Eddie’s hand, the one currently empty to sit on his hip.
The straw hung limp in his mouth. Was this really happening right now?
“Does this make sense to you?”, Steve asked, his hands against the van walls, caging Eddie in with his body.
And fuck if that didn’t do things to him. Then he remembered witnessing King Steve pull similar moves in the hallway, getting girls to focus solely on him. And fuck if getting the Steve Harrington Special didn’t do things to him. Eddie said the half finished slush down, only half caring if it fell over and put his other hand on Steve’s hip.
He didn’t know if this made sense. In fact, he was pretty sure it was all nonsense. But Eddie wasn’t about to tell Steve to get out of his lap.
“You and Nancy”, Eddie said in a low voice, although it was more of a reminder to himself than to Steve.
Steve didn’t want to hear her name anymore. So he leaned in and kissed Eddie. When he pulled back, Eddie’s eyes were closed but he was still trying to talk.
“You and...you and Nan-”
Steve kissed him again. This time when he pulled back, he watched Eddie take a breath as his eyes fluttered.
“You and-”
“You. Only you Eddie.”
Steve leaned in for a third when someone banged on the van.
“Hey no loitering! You and your broad get a move on!”
Steve grinned. “You’re my broad.”
“Actually, it’s my van and I’m driving. So you’re the broad sweet-cheeks.” And then Eddie gave him a daring squeeze of those cheeks and Steve felt his blood jump.
Years of getting his ass slapped by other jocks didn’t prepare him for this.
----------------
It started as a slow, on the down low thing. For Steve, it was because he was afraid of falling too hard too fast. Of Eddie getting tired of him. Of a devastating dumping. For Eddie, it was because he was waiting for Steve’s experimentation to be over and for him to go back to be the straight boy right out of every father’s dream for their little princess.
They kissed in private but in public the affection showed in other ways. In ways they were both realizing had always been there. Eddie being loud and obnoxious in most places but still knocking politely when coming to Steve’s house. Steve buying more hair spray for himself and throwing some hair ties into the basket as well.
The little things.
This goes on for a month and while it kills Steve to not tell Robin, he himself is not entirely sure what he’d tell her. “Yes I like girls but I also like Eddie. No, not guys. Just Eddie.”
What sense did that make? Steve tried looking at other guys but none of them compared. He tried looking at other girls too with the same result. So maybe he was just attracted to Eddie for the rest of his life. He could deal with that.
What he couldn’t deal with was coming out to Mike Wheeler.
Mike had been tasked with going to Eddie’s trailer to try and finesse some info about the new campaign. He’d lost rock, paper, scissors. Whatever. Mike took this task seriously. So of course, he was gonna scope out the situation. He noticed Steve’s car was parked out front. Mike didn’t know what those two did all the time together. They didn’t share any of the same interests as far as he knew.
He tiptoed around the trailer. The blinds to Eddie’s room were shut. So he went over to the kitchen window. If Eddie was in a good mood, this could be easy. If Steve ruined it by saying something stupid, that made Mike’s job way more difficult. He stood on a milk crate in time to see Steve come into view and go into the fridge.
Eddie came soon after, his hair looking crazier that usually, like he’d been thrashing it around. He hugged Steve from behind and kissed the back of his neck and Mike almost lost his shit.
“I thought you were too tired to move?”, Steve asked.
“Baby I just couldn’t wait. Missed you too much.”
There was more gooey, lovey-dovey stuff which would gross Mike out if he wasn’t already pissed.
“I can’t believe this!”, Mike shouted, grabbing their attention.
“Wheeler...”, Eddie said in a warning tone.
“You guys were cheating at that game!”, he accused. “You rigged it by pretending to not be dating!”
Both let out an exasperated sigh before Mike disappeared from the window.
“I’m telling Nancy!”
“Wheeler!”
“Mike!”

Learn to forget your biases
written for @steddieholidaydrabbles prompt: angst with a happy ending | rating: t | wc: 925 | tags: hurt/comfort, eddie munson being an asshole, hurt steve harrington, angst, hopeful ending Steve got sick of Eddie constantly putting down everything he liked, leading to a fight. Eddie had to put the work in to make it better.
"Why are you even with me if you can't stand to even pretend to be interested in anything that I like?"
It had been days since the argument, and Steve still felt like shit. He hadn't wanted it to end like that, with a maybe break up. He'd just been feeling so frustrated with Eddie being so dismissive of everything he enjoyed, where he at least tried to understand Eddie's hobbies and interests. At times, it felt like Eddie was trying to make him into a clone of him, and it really gave Steve the impression that Eddie was only with him for his looks. Or because he was the only other queer guy in Hawkins that they knew of.
It had started when Steve was making plans to see the Pacers. He'd got the tickets and was thinking they could get a hotel for the night and make a thing of it. But when he'd brought it up to Eddie, he'd laughed in his face. Asked what had possessed Steve into thinking it was something that Eddie would be interested in doing, and told him he shouldn't have even bothered wasting his money to buy tickets when he could just catch the game on tv. It had hurt, but Steve tried to brush it off. He invited Robin to go with him instead, knowing that even though she wasn't a huge fan of basketball, she would tag along and find a way to make it fun.
But Eddie then booked a last minute gig with the band at a bar in Indianapolis. On the same day as the Pacers game. At the same time. He tried to convince Steve to ditch the game to watch them play instead, saying that it would be a better use of his time, and that he was going to be in Indanapolis anyway, so it wouldn't make any difference. Steve refused, as he'd seen Eddie play in shitty bars so many times. Almost every gig they'd played since they'd been together, even attending when he was recovering from a migraine, not wanting to disappoint Eddie.
The fight was the next day. Eddie kept making jabs about Steve ditching him for a basketball game, claiming that he should have been Steve's priority. Steve couldn't even get a word in edgewise to say how the game had been. And he just got sick of it, remembering how Eddie never gave his interests a chance. Brushing off all mentions of sport. Insulting his taste in music, saying he needed an education in real music. Even making fun of his clothes. It was something he couldn't put up with any more.
In the aftermath of the fight, Steve felt lost. Robin had automatically taken his side, she'd already tried talking to Eddie about his attitude toward Steve's interests, only to get ignored. The kids were split, most of them taking Steve's side, but Dustin and Mike siding with Eddie. Saying that sports weren't worth it, that it made it seem like Steve hadn't changed from his jock days in high school. What did surprise Steve was Gareth and Jeff taking his side. They hadn't even known that Steve had invited Eddie to the game weeks before they'd booked the gig, and that Steve supported them at every opportunity, it made them decide that Eddie was being a dick just for the sake of it.
Steve didn't hear from Eddie for a while after the fight. Until one day he and Robin were working. Robin was manning the desk while he tidied and put away returns in the adult section. He wasn't paying much attention until he heard Robin's voice, a note of anger to it.
"If you're not here to apologize, you can fuck off right now."
"I come in peace." Eddie said, and Steve felt his heart skip a beat. Unsure of what could happen next.
"He's in there." Robin replied.
Steve kept his back to the doorway, just waiting for what Eddie was going to do or say.
"Hey." Eddie said softly, keeping his distance from Steve.
"Hi." Steve replied, turning slightly to face Eddie.
"I fucked up. I really, seriously fucked up, and I'm so, so sorry about it. It isn't an excuse, but I genuinely didn't realize how much of a dick I had been until almost everyone we know beat some sense into me. I was taking my attitude from high school too far and projecting it onto you. I know how much I hate it when people judge me based on my looks and my interests, but here I was doing the same to you. I hate how much I hurt you, and I am so sorry. I just hope you would give me another chance?"
"I. It did hurt, Eddie. You made me feel like I was worth less than you because I don't enjoy the same things you do. You lumped me in with a bunch of assholes who I never even associated with. I want us to work, but it's going to take a lot to prove that you're really in it for me." Steve said.
"I get that. Maybe this can be the start." Eddie held out an envelope, which Steve took. He opened it to find two tickets to the next Pacers game. For some of the best seats in the house. "Wayne had to help me figure out which ones I needed. I was thinking we could go together."
Steve smiled, it was a good gesture. "Yeah. I'd like that."

Maybe he’ll blame it on his wording or maybe blame it on the lack of romantic setting. Maybe he could blame it on the crowd around them.
Because he didn’t want to think of the answer being no. If that were the case, he might just die of a broken heart.
Steve’s first ‘girlfriend’ was this adorable little red head girl when he was five. Actually, when he thinks about it she wasn’t his ‘girlfriend’ but actually his little ‘boyfriend’ because she thought it was funny to call him ‘girlfriend’ instead and she wanted to be called ‘boyfriend’ which he gladly did. He remembers her pretty clearly because she was also his best friend at the time, her name is Delilah. He hasn’t seen her in years, hopes she’s okay and happy. The way she called him ‘girlfriend’ is probably what started his secret love of feminine names for himself.
He thinks that was probably his easiest “relationship” mostly because well, he was five. He remembers asking her to play and that was it. They were attached at the hip, Delilah’s mom would pick him up from his house when demanded and then he’d spend the rest of his day with Delilah and her family. Some of his best childhood memories are with them.
It’s probably the blueprint for his relationship to Eddie.
Expect, Eddie asked him to smoke one random day and then suddenly he’s being called ‘baby girl’ and ‘darling’. It made his heart beat so much faster and his cheeks run hot. Eddie wouldn’t demand him to come over, just wouldn’t let him leave most nights. They’d have late dinners with Wayne and enjoy quiet nights together and lazy mornings. He’s truly his happiest with the Munson family.
So, despite the fact that legally they can’t get married, he decided to get a ring and ask Eddie anyway.
Finding the perfect ring wasn’t as hard as he’s heard. Maybe it’s because he knows Eddie, knows what he hates and loves. Or maybe it’s just that the first ring he saw was perfect for Eddie. As soon as he saw it, his brain immediately came up with images of Eddie wearing it. When the sells person asked about his own ring, he declined and said he’ll pick something out later.
Eddie’s the one that’s good with creating a story, especially off the top of his head. So instead of coming up with anything like that, he’s planning on just laying it all out and hoping for the best. He swears to mention how much he loves Eddie, talk about their future and so much more.
He doesn’t bother hiding that he’s with Eddie when they get into the restaurant, it’s pretty common now for the two of them to be seen together. Most people don’t even look twice at them anymore, there’s of course still one or two. But it doesn’t bother them much.
It’s not the most romantic restaurant, just the little diner in town. Because Enzo’s was already busy plus the owner shoots glares at them even though Robin ripped a new one into him for being homophobic. So instead of the romantic scene, they’re in the little diner with checkered floors and terrible teal blue walls with pink accents. There’s sad looking daisies on the tables with old worn broken menus, and music neither of them actually like. Some old country song that Steve can’t even remember the name.
Their waiter is some senior from high school that looks bored. Repeating their orders back to them before walking off and Steve finally takes a chance to reach over at Eddie’s hands, “Eds, I got something for you”
Eddie brightens up at that, his smile is addicting and Steve smiles just to match him even if his nerves are making him squirm. Letting go of one of Eddie’s hands, he goes to pull out the tiny little black box that’s been making his pockets burn all day.
“What is it, Stevie?” Eddie’s voice goes up a notch and before he knows it, starts to ramble. “Is today a special day? I know it’s not my birthday and it’s not yours either, there’s no anniversary that I can think of. You also don’t celebrate many holidays lately, so it can’t be that. Or am I forgetting something? Is it an anniversary? Should I be getting you something-“
Usually he loves hearing Eddie ramble but his voice is getting higher and it’s starting to crack, so he shoves the box back into his pocket and grabs Eddie’s hands again in a tight grip. “Eds, baby, calm down! It’s okay”
Before either of them can say anything more their food is there and they let go of each other to eat. In between bites, he tries again, “I was thinking, maybe in the future, if we uh- we could go and get my last name to be…”
He gets cut off by waiters loudly and annoyingly singing ‘happy birthday’ to the table next to them and he wants to kick himself for his wording already. It’s turning out to be a disaster, and he doesn’t exactly know how to come back from it. So, they continue to eat their food quietly with some small talk instead. Once the badly singing waiters leave and their food is mostly gone, he tries again.
“Eddie, I have something to ask you” his nerves are showing in his voice, even to his own ears. Hopefully he looks aren’t reflecting how nervous he is, but he can’t see himself anywhere and he knows looking away would not be good. Without messing with the box in his pocket, “Would you want to share a last name?”
Internally cringing at his words, he hopes that Eddie understands. Looking at him, with the silence going that feels like the world has stopped, it seems like maybe that it…doesn’t. He knows it comes out wrong and that Eddie doesn’t get it. Because his face is full of confusion, normally he loves it. Normally Eddie being confused is always cute and Steve loves it, especially when he gets to explain something to Eddie.
But right now? He hates it.
“Like, you uhh” Eddie speechless is a wonder usually. Steve hates it right now, much like how much he hates his own wording. “Wouldn’t it be weird if Wayne adopted you? Since we’re dating?”
He’s speechless himself, of all the options Eddie picks that one? He shakes his head and his hand goes for the box in his pocket, “no, no. That’s- just, no. Eddie, I’d like to-“
“Stevie, are you okay?” The question comes out of left field and it makes him wonder why, until he feels a wetness to his cheeks and, damnit. He’s tearing up from all his nerves. He didn’t even notice, sighing he just nods. “Are- are you sure?”
“Yeah, yeah, I’m okay. Let’s just go home, yeah?”
Eddie doesn’t quite agree but also doesn’t say anything else. Just moves next to him and loops his arm with Steve’s. Then they’re off to the car and all Steve needs now is a moment alone to figure out how he went so wrong when he had a plan.
Part 2
This was originally suppose to be the full fic but uhh tumblr kept deleting my last thing i'd type up. So now I'm splitting it into two parts. Anyway, I completely blame @i-less-than-three-you and this post for this. So thanks @undreaming-fanfiction for this idea bug I seriously couldn’t stop thinking about it, when I should be writing more of part 6 for my angst fic.

We're A Family Part 15 (Steddie X You)
Tumblr media
Warnings With Some Notes: Dads Steddie and Mama Reader, Stevie gets yelled at by parents during a parent/teacher conference that Y/N overhears (the dad refers to her as a whore and slut a few times through out the story), these three do talk about having another baby which leads Steve to talking about his worry of people in the town, Daisy's dad causes a scene in their house, SMUT (spanking and slight overstimulation), fluff, and angst.
Dylan and Y/N talk about him and Ro not being planned. The men in the Munson-Harrington household all struggle with personal demons that are mentioned through out this story. They have grown though and know no matter what they can handle anything together <3.
Word Count: 5788
“What? Why are you looking at me that way?”
Kierra sighs as she shrugs before leaning back in the booth across from yours. “Y/N, you know I’m always on your side. No matter what. You’re my sister, my best friend, and I love the hell out of you. That being said…”, her eyes look up to meet your slightly annoyed ones. “I think what Steve is feeling is fair.”
You fold your arms as you pout while she continues.
“Come on. It’s not like he’s ever hid from you that he wanted more kids. You three had always talked about having another baby using his stuff, ya know? And of course, he’s thinking about it now because Aurora’s not technically a baby anymore. Dylan will be starting high school soon. His asshole father and our evil mother are always reminding him that biologically the kids aren’t his.”
“So this will fix that?!”
“Y/N…”
“And if we go by that logic we technically aren’t married. They remind him of that to. What, maybe, he needs an actual wife now.”
“Well, now you’re being ridiculous.”
“Don’t do that, Kierra. Don’t treat me like I’m mom!”
“That’s not what I’m doing and I know you know that.” You both exhaled as you took a long sip from the drink in your glass. “Y/N, he’s not…commanding…you to give him a kid right now. It sounds like he just wants to have a conversation about it. At least give Steve and Eddie that.”
“I’m sorry I snapped at you.”
She grins as she lightly kicks your leg under the table. “No worries. You know I still love you.”
***
“Hey, mom. What are you doing here?”, Dylan asked as you walked up to the school.
“Steve asked Ed to come get you because he has a meeting after school but he already had plans so alas, you get me.” He grins as you hand him your keys. “Go wait in the car and I’ll be right there, okay?”
You smile as you watch him run out the door before heading to Steve’s classroom.
“…and I’m not going sit here and be lectured by some deviant!”
The sound of someone yelling caused you to pause just outside his door.
“I’m not lecturing you, Mr. Osborne. I’m just trying to convey that your daughter seems to struggle a lot more with the material than others in class. She’s very smart. She just needs some extra help.”
“Oh, and are YOU going to pay for that, Mr. Harrington?! Especially since I know for a fact she doesn’t need any ‘extra help’. Maybe if you would focus on being a better teacher instead of that whore and freak maybe my child would be better educated.”
A chair rolled back as you heard Steve exhale angrily. “I think we’re done here.”
“Um, what about…Daisy’s grade.”, a woman asked.
There was a long pause before he finally answered. “Mrs. Osborne, she’s passing but not enough to get into those AP classes next year. If you and your husband insist on not finding a tutor or something that can help her…there’s not much more that I can do.”
“Maybe it’s time we talk to the principal.”, Mr. Osborne sneered.
“Maybe it is. I can give you his number and we can set up another meeting.”
The man mutters things under his breath as Mrs. Osborne offers a small thank you to Steve. Both parents exit the classroom coming face to face with you.
“Oh. Hey, Y/N. I…we…didn’t know you were, um, here.” You watch with angry eyes as her husband stalks past you down the hallway and out of sight. “Daisy had fun with Dylan at the dance. He sent me some pictures. They are so cute together!”
You subtly nod before crossing your arms. “Lori, did you know my son helps your daughter with her homework sometimes?” She blinks in your direction before shaking her head. “There are times when she comes over after school and they study together. Of course, they can’t do it all the time; Dylan having baseball and Daisy in gymnastics but… Those times he is able to help her? She gets a higher grade.”
“Steve’s right. She’s a smart kid. It’s just she seems to struggle to retain the information especially when she’s anxious. I wonder why that is.”
“LORI ANNE! Are you coming or not?!”, Mr. Osborne shouts down the hallway.
You shrug as you lean against the wall behind you. “But what would I know? I’m just the whore married to the freak and deviant.”
As soon as the sound of her heels disappear, Steve casually comes to lean in the doorway.
“That was good. Maybe you should be a teacher.”
“Naw. That was just my counseling degree you saw at work there. Dealt with a lot of parents like Daisy’s I’m afraid.” You glance in his direction taking note of how exhausted he looks. “Are you okay?”
“Yeah, I’m alright. What about you?”
“I’ve been better.” Steve immediately looks you over with concern. It’s one of the many things you love about them both; their concern and protectiveness of you. You imagined it took all his strength to not punch Daisy’s dad in the face for calling you and Eddie names.
“Is there anything I can do?”
“I was thinking that, maybe, the three of us could talk tonight about…you know.”
He sighed as he shoved his hands in his pockets and looked down at the floor. “We don’t have to. I mean, not much point if you can’t even say the word baby.”
“Steve, I’m trying here.”
“Yeah, I understand. It’s really fine, Y/N. Like I tried to tell you before. It’s just something I was thinking about. If you’re not ready it’s fine. We can wait. Look, I still have a couple of things to do before I can leave so…I’ll just see you back at home, alright.”
Before you can answer, he turns away from you and heads for his desk.
###########
“Ok, princess, let’s see what we get here.” Eddie rolls his D & D dice as Aurora sits at the little table Wayne made for her in her size while she picks at the snack on her plate.
“17. Alright.” He leans forward and grabs a note card from the vocabulary set Steve bought to help teach her words. It was the metalhead’s idea to put a spin on it, allowing him to grab a card at random. “What’s this?”
“Puppy!”
“Good job, my angel.” He rolls again and grabs the corresponding card.
“Girl.” Ro points to the image and then herself. “Rara girl.”
“Yes ma’am, you are.”
“Beep, beep.”, she mimics absently before taking a bite of her snack.
“Who’s that?”
She grins as Dylan comes around and ruffles her hair. “Din bra-der.”
“Is Dylan a boy or a girl?”
“Big boy.”
“Way to go, Ro. Mom, I’m going to go upstairs till dinner.”
You nod before coming to sit on the floor beside them and Eddie bends towards you to give you a kiss.
“Ew, daddy!”
“Hey, ew you, kid.”, he smiles as he gives you another peck. “Are you alright, baby?”
“Daisy’s parents were giving Steve hell when I showed up.”
“Sounds about right. I’ve never liked Nathan. He kind of reminds me of my father.”
“Yeah…I told Steve I thought the three of us should talk about the other night…”
“You mean when you freaked out about the idea of having another kid?” He laughed when you shot him a playful glare. “Honestly, sweetheart, not much point if you can’t even say the word.”
“I swear to God! Are you two on the same frequency or something??”
“Usually.”, he smiles. “I’m always open for a conversation.”
***
“Hey, weirdo.” You grin at him as he steps outside and sits beside you on the steps of the back porch. “How’s Daisy?”
“She’s…she’s ok. Upset but ok. She said her parents have been fighting all night.”
“I’m sorry, baby. You know she’s welcome over here anytime if she needs an escape.”
“How are you, mom?”
“I’m okay.” He raises his eyebrow at you making you laugh. “What?! I really am.”
“Liar.”
“Fine! Ya little pain in the butt.” Your smile slightly fades as you talk to him. “Steve wants to have another kid.”
“And you don’t?”
“I don’t know, weirdo. I mean, we all just got settled into this routine, we see each other a lot more than before. We’d have to move because I’m not going to make either of you share a room with a screaming baby.”
“I wouldn’t mind.”
“I know YOU wouldn’t but I would.” You quickly sneak a glance at your son before looking out into the yard. “How would you feel about another little one running around?”
“I think it would be cool. I was an only child for a while there so I wouldn’t mind more siblings in the house.” His concerned eyes shift over your frame, debating on if he should continue. “Ro and I were accidents, right?”
His question startled you as you turned to fully face your son. “No, Dylan. You and Aurora weren’t planned but you definitely were NOT accidents.”
“Yeah, no, I get that. I just… imagine how different it would be for you and our dads to plan one this time. You get to be excited for once instead of scared.”
“Dylan Marshall Y/L/N—”
“Ah.”, he cuts you off with a cute little smile. “It’s Munson-Harrington now. You have to scold me properly.”
You smirk as you narrow your eyes at him in jest. “Dylan Marshall Munson-Harrington.”
“There you go!”
You both laugh as you pull him into your arms. “Baby, I was ecstatic when I found out I was pregnant with you. Seriously. I fell in love with you the moment I saw your little blob on the ultrasound; you and Aurora.”
“We love you to, mom.”
“Don’t ever let me hear you say that you were an accident. You hear me?”
“Yes, ma’am.”
As you both reentered the house, Eddie was patting Ro’s back as she slept on his shoulder sucking her thumb while Steve stood at the sink washing the dishes from dinner. Dylan bid them a quick good night before heading up to his room.
Sighing, you drunk in the vision of the man in your kitchen. He still looked extremely exhausted but more than anything he seemed sad. Your sister was right, it was fair for him to be feeling what he was feeling and he never once tried to push you on the idea of having more children. When you three found out about Aurora, at first he reacted negatively but he more than made up for it, there for you 24/7 throughout your pregnancy and after she was born. No questions asked.
Steve had been the same with Dylan all those years ago. Anything your son needed he offered a helping hand where he could and genuinely enjoyed being there for you both.
He probably wasn’t even going to present you with that “Baby #3” note until you yourself brought up being ready to have another baby. Steve just wanted to be prepared when the time came up. Yet you reacted out of panic, like he was saying it’s either this or nothing. You immediately shut him down and out instead of just talking to him about how he felt.
He deserved more than that; they both did.
Eddie watched as you crossed the living room and headed towards the other man’s side. He turned off the water, reaching for a dishtowel to dry his hands before finally turning to look at you. Steve exhaled heavily and you abruptly wrapped your arms around his waist, pressing your face into his chest. His strong hands held you tighter to his as he rested his cheek on the top of your head.
#############
“I heard Nathan Osborne gave you the third degree today.” Eddie grinned in Steve’s direction from his place on the floor as he strummed his guitar absently.
“I wouldn’t say ‘third degree’ but he was definitely an asshole.” Steve, who was doing crunches, fully sat up to wrap his arms around his knees. “Said I need to focus more on teaching than being a deviant with my whore and my freak.”
“Wow. Rude. I don’t belong to you. I’m my own freak.” Eddie jokingly sized him up making the other man laugh.
You grinned to yourself in the bathroom as you listened to them talk. You loved hearing them speak to each other when they thought you weren’t listening. It had gradually gotten flirtier as the years passed as they got more comfortable with crossing that friend boundary and entering lovers. Sometimes you wondered if at some point they would have gotten there on their own if they hadn’t met you. You imagined so with that energy they had always had between them.
“How hard was it for you not to punch him?”
“Pfft, God. You have no idea.” Steve tipped back down onto the carpet and continued his set. “Y/N verbally gave them something to think about though.”
“Ooo, baby! You badass. Comin’ out swinging with that sassy attitude.”
Turning off the bathroom light, you smiled as you came to sit on the floor beside them.
“Just Lori. Nathan pushed past me before I could say anything. Dylan says they’ve been fighting all night so, I don’t know, maybe she finally told him something.”
“I hate that for Daisy. She can always come over if she needs to.”, Eddie smiled as he reached to move your hair to the side. “What are you thinking about, babe?”
“Dylan asked me if he and his sister were accidents.” Steve sat up again as the metalhead fully moved his guitar to the side. “I’ve genuinely never thought about it before…that neither of the kids were planned. I don’t know how that translates to me basically having a panic attack at the thought of having another but…”, you laugh as they flash you a smile. “Steve, I’m sorry.”
“I mean, no reason to be sorry, honey. I meant what I said. If you aren’t ready, we can wait. It’s not a big deal.”
“It is to me because I know our parents put you through hell because Dylan and Ro aren’t biologically yours—”
“Hey now. No. We aren’t going down that road. Those two kids out there are OURS, mine and Eddie’s. I don’t give a fuck that they aren’t ‘pure Harrington’s’ or whatever bullshit my dad wants to spout around town. I don’t want you to agree to have another baby just because you feel like you owe me something. I’m not going to lie, Y/N, I’m really fucking tired of having this conversation.”
“Steve…”
“No, Munson. I mean we adopted Dylan, both kids have our names. What more do I need to do to prove to you that I see them as my children to? IS it me?
“I have never once doubted that you love those kids. I just feel like it hurts you to be reminded.”
“Yeah…but not in the way you think. It hurts me that there are people out there who are going to tell them the same thing and it will hurt them. It hurts me that ignorant people like our parents and the Osbornes will never be able to understand that I would die to protect those kids. If I could shield them from all this bullshit, I would. Those are the kind of things I worry about when THAT particular topic of conversation comes up.”
“How about this?”, Eddie interjects. “How about we start slow? One stressful situation at a time. Maybe we can start looking into bigger houses and see if we can even afford that. If we can’t there’s no point in even having the baby talk.”
“How big are we talkin’?”
“Well, Harrington, your parent’s house has like a billion bedrooms. How much do they pay?”
“First off, calm down, it’s 5 bedrooms. Second, they bought that house in like the 80s. Houses were a lot cheaper back then.”
“They also live on an expensive side of town.”, you add before softly smiling to yourself. “I always wanted to build my own house.”
“Like…with your two hands or?”
“No, you goof.”, you giggle as you lightly reach out to kick Eddie with your foot. “Like design it and have it built. When we were growing up, my dad used to say that was something he wanted but his idea was more extravagant. ‘We’ll have the bowling alley here and the theater there.’” You glance towards Steve as he grins at your comment before crawling over to climb into his lap.
***
“What about this one?”, you asked Steve as you both sat at the kitchen table looking up houses online. Dylan and Daisy were across from you two working on an assignment for another class.
Eddie was feeding Ro as she sat on the countertop, kicking her legs with a big smile on her face.
“I like it. This is only four bedrooms though. I thought you wanted another so Ed can have a man cave for his guitars.”
“Oh, sure. Blame me like you won’t be keeping things in there as well.”
“That’s fair.”, you giggle. “I like it because it’s kind of out near the countryside of Hawkins. Away from people… Plus we would be a little closer to Wayne.”
“And further away from your mom and my dad?”, Steve whispers as his fingers caress your arm as you nod.
“This area still isn’t far from the school or Ed’s shop—”
Pounding on the front door startled everyone causing both men to immediately shift into protective mode. Steve headed towards the sound, sighing aggressively as he peered through the peephole.
“Kids, upstairs now. You to baby. Don’t argue with me.”, he warned as your mouth opened to protest. Dylan and Daisy head up the stairs as you take Ro from Eddie and follow them.
“Mr. Osborne, how can I help you?”
“Where is my daughter?! I don’t want her in this house anymore.”
“She’s studying with Dylan. Your wife dropped her off a few hours ago—”
“I don’t care! She’s MY daughter to and I don’t her exposed to you people.” The man barged passed Steve to search the house shouting her name.
You wrapped your arms around Daisy as she stood there staring out into the hallway towards the stairs and began to cry.
“It’s ok, sweetheart. They won’t let anything bad happen. I promise.”
“Ah, hello Nathan.”, Eddie sarcastically greets him from his spot at the bottom of the staircase. The man tries to push past him but the metalhead successfully blocks his path with his arm. “See, I’m not the teacher and you’re in my house where my kids are so I have absolutely no problem knocking you out if you try that again.”
“I want my daughter NOW.”
“Mr. Osborne, I need you to calm down. I’m not going to let her leave with you if you continue behaving this way.”
“You’re not going to LET her, Mr. Harrington.”, he laughs.
“That’s correct especially if she doesn’t feel safe leaving with you.”
“Daisy is safer with me than with you freaks. I don’t give a fuck what my wife says…the last thing I need is my daughter thinking being a whore is ok.”
Eddie took long strides forward but Steve quickly came between them as he glared at the other man.
“You’ve barged into my house uninvited smelling like alcohol and insulted my wife. I’m asking you nicely one more time to leave or else I will call Hopper.”
“Daisy, honey, wait…”
The girl stepped out of the room and forward so her dad could see her, you quickly following to grab her arm.
“Daisy! Get down here right now! We are going home.”
“Daisy, if you don’t feel safe you can stay here till we get a hold of your mom.”
“It’s ok, Mr. Harrington. I’ll be ok.”
You watch with sad eyes as his shoulders deflate. They glare at each other as she grabs her things and heads towards the front door.
“You keep that boy away from my kid or else—”
“Or else what?” Steve stepped forward till he was hovering just above the other man’s face. “Finish that sentence, Nathan. Please. Threaten my son so I can finally knock you on your ass.”
Mr. Osborne scoffed before abruptly turning and grabbing his daughter before heading out the door. As both men turned to glance up the stairs, they find you sitting on the top step with your arm around Dylan as you both gaze back with sympathy. Aurora is sitting between her brother’s legs one step below him as she plays with her fingers.
This is their family. Eddie and Steve both grew up with a Nathan Osborne in their house. He was a good reminder of where they had come from and how far they had come. Both men started out alone until they found each other. It was just the two of them for so long till they found you and Dylan before Ro came along.
“You ok, kid?”, Steve asked.
“Yeah… I just hate she has to go back home to that. Are you guys okay?”
“Well, won’t make it on my top 10 Saturday evenings but…” Eddie grinned as you three laugh.
“Grrrr.”, Ro growls as she points to the door.
“Excuse me, who are you trying scare, honey?!”
Aurora crawls down slowly on her butt before reaching up so Steve can lift her in his arms. “Boy…grrrrr. Gashhhhhh. Gashhhhhh.”
Dylan cackles at his sister’s sound effects. “She’s making Darth Vader noises.” He mimics her sounds more clearly and she claps at his understanding. “She’s essentially saying Daisy’s dad is mean.”
“Look at you. Kid is the baby translator.”, the man smiles as she giggles and bonks her head against his.
############
“Let’s do it.”
After putting the kids to bed, you climbed onto Steve’s lap on the couch interrupting the show he and Eddie were watching.
“What’s happening now?”
“Let’s try for another baby.”
The metalhead turns off the tv as they both turn to look at you. “Sweetheart, if you aren’t ready—”
“No, no. I mean, after looking at houses and us going over things…seeing how you two are…” Your fingers come up to caress the man’s cheek. “I watched you two defend us…not just us but Daisy to. It just reminded me that no matter what happens we’re safe with you. We’re in this together. We can make it all work.” Steve pressed his forehead to your own. “I’m sorry for panicking and snapping at you before.”
“No reason to, honey. I get it. We’ll just take it one day at a time, okay? It’s going to take a couple of weeks for the birth control to stop working right? We can use that time to look at some of the houses we found. After today…I like the idea of being out in the country.”
“I wouldn’t mind being closer to Wayne.”, Eddie admits. “So, what a minute. If we’re doing this the fun way…that means I can’t cum inside of you for a while?”
You giggle as you lean into Steve’s neck. “Yup. Sorry, baby.”
He flashes you a wicked grin as he promptly stands up and reaches down to throw you over his shoulder. “Well, I better fill you up as much as I can beforehand. Come on, Steven.”
The other man didn’t need to be told; he was already following you both up the stairs. You smile as he tosses you onto the bed and promptly climbs on top of you, clinging his lips to your neck. As quickly as he could, Eddie tore off his clothes and yanked down your pants, bringing your panties with them.
“What’s your rush?”, you laugh at him as he lifts you further up the mattress and positions himself between your legs.
“I’m just dying to feel you, princess.” His body leans over yours as he rubs the tip of his length through your folds making you moan. “Can I? Can I feel my cock inside of you, baby?”
“You know you don’t have to ask.”
Eddie smiles as his lips gently press against yours. “I know. I just like hearing you say it.”
Your fingers run through his hair before taking hold of his shoulders. “Yes, Eddie. I want to feel you inside of me.”
The man bit his bottom lip as his head hung and he pushed himself into your entrance. You searched for Steve, finding him off to the side, already naked, and stroking his cock to the sight before him. After motioning for him to come closer, he crawled onto the bed beside your head, and reached down to lift off your shirt.
As soon as you were free of its confinement, you reached for him, making him groan when you guided his cock into your awaiting mouth.
Eddie pushed up on his knees, lifting your legs further around his waist as he thrust into you. With half-lidded eyes, he watched as Steve’s own beautiful orbs fluttered closed as his jaw went slack. His palm tenderly caressed your cheek before sliding down to your bouncing tits as he kneaded and played with your nipples.
The metalhead aggressively reached for the back of the boy’s neck, tugging his lips to his own. As they kissed, Eddie’s pace slowed as he pumped into you hard and deep.
“Oh…oh my God. F-fuck.”, you mewled.
Steve moaned loudly, his kisses becoming sloppy as he held the other man’s face tightly against his own. You repositioned your head so you could suck on his balls while you stroked him with your hand.
“Fuck me!” Eddie rapidly covered his mouth but he shook his head, pushing it away as he leaned his forehead against his husband’s. “Fuck, that feels so fucking good.”, he whispers.
Steve licks the tips of his fingers and brings them down to your clit, rubbing in fast circles as Eddie tries to match his pace. You try keeping any part of your mouth on him that you can but you struggle as you hurtle towards your climax.
“Fuck, fuck, fuck. Y-yes, Eddie, baby, please.”
His head collapsed lazily against Steve’s shoulder as he rolled his hips into yours, your body shaking as you came, him following after as your pussy clenches around him.
As you try to come down from your high, you notice them exchange a glance with a knowing smile and before you can say anything, the metalhead’s arms are wrapping around you, and flipping you over till you’re on top of him.
“Whatcha doin’?”, you giggle as he smiles, wiping some of the sweat that had accumulated on your face.
“I did say I wanted to fill you up as much as I could beforehand.”
“Ed…”
His eyebrows coyly raise in your direction. “What? You don’t think you can make me cum again?”
“I didn’t say that.” Eddie pushed up on his hands and you looked behind you when you felt a hand touch your body. Steve winked as he pushed you forward slightly making you grin when your nose grazed the mans underneath you. “I just… don’t want to hurt you. I know how sensitive you both are after you cum.”
To prove your point, you gently lift your hips, gliding your pussy along his cock and his eyes close as he hisses at the stimulation. After licking his lips, he craned his neck, bringing his lips to yours.
“I don’t mind a little pain.” With his knees placed on either of the Eddie’s legs, Steve gripped one of your shoulders while using his other to guide himself into your ass. “If anyone can make me cum more than once this quickly, it’d be you sweetheart.”
Your arms cling to his neck as you begin bouncing and pushing back between them. The man behind you meets each of your moves with a thrust of his own and you promptly see stars.
“Steve…just-just like that. You both always—fuck—always feel…” You struggle to finish your sentence, words leaving your brain as you gaze down at Eddie’s face.
His eyes are squeezed shut as he murmurs through gritted teeth. Steve sees it to as he reaches over you caress the man’s lip with his thumb. As you lean forward to hear him better, his arms move causing him to fall flat on the mattress as he grips your hips. You and the other boy adjust more on your knees making you groan as both men push deeper into you.
“Ed? Are you okay, babe?” He nods as he grumbles something you can’t hear. “I-I can’t hear you, sweethea—oh!” Eddie startles you as his palm comes down hard on your ass.
“Hard-er.”, he growls but not in an aggressive way. His tone is rough but it’s dripping with a need you’ve never heard from him before. That mixed with him spanking you had your cunt constricting around him tighter and he moaned at the feeling.
You did as he commanded, grinding your hips as hard as you could against the two of them, bending down to balance on your own arms for more leverage. The man underneath you spanked you again except this time you felt Steve’s cock twitch inside you as he grunted.
“D-do it again. I think—mmm—I think Stevie likes watching you spank me.”
Without saying a word, he did again and the other boy tugged at your bicep, pulling you flat against his chest. You yelped as Eddie’s thumb flicked against your nub and you were grateful when Steve covered your mouth as you whimpered loudly behind his palm.
You couldn’t hold back anymore as you came causing the metalhead to release a strained fuck as you spasmed around his cock. They both chased their highs, Steve coming first as his face pressed into your shoulder and grunted as he came inside you.
Eddie followed soon after, filling your pussy for the second time. The man behind you carefully pulled out but as you tried to do the same the other boy clung to your hips.
“Baby, I…I love the enthusiasm but…you can’t go again.”, you panted as you grinned. “Not right now.”
A small smirk painted his lips as his eyes remained closed. “I’m…kind of embarrassed to say but…I need you to wait a minute, princess.”
“Are you okay?”
“Yeah, yeah. I’m fine. I’ve just never tried that before. Usually, we take a break if we go a few rounds. I, uh, it hurts a little.”
“I told you.”, you sing.
“Are you ok? It’s okay if we sit for a minute, right?”
“Of course. Did you enjoy it?”
“Did I enjoy making love to you till I can barely move after? Yes, sweetheart, I’d say I did.”, he laughs.
“Did you like what he did?”
Eddie exasperatedly giggled harder as he placed his hand over his heart. “Jesus Steven. You were so fucking quiet I forgot you were here.”
“Yeah, that joke never gets old.”
“Hey, I’m a dad. I’m allowed to make jokes like that now.”
“Did I like what?”, you ask.
“Him spanking you. I don’t think we’ve ever done that before.”
“Hm, handcuffs and spanking. We’re becoming regular BDSM heathens.”, Eddie jokes as Steve rolls his eyes.
“Can she answer a question, please?”, he teased.
“I don’t know. Baby, give it a try.”
When you lightly hit his chest, he captures your hand with his own and holds it to him.
“I did. I think you liked it more though.”, you softly smile as you use your other hand to caress his chin.
“I like anything you two do together.”, his head dips slightly as he fidgets with his fingers. Your smiles grows, realizing that’s most likely why Aurora does it. “Not just sexually either. At the school, I was watching you two dance and I just got this sense of pride, you know? You’re both funny, sexy, sarcastic, strong… like what are you doing with me?”, he chuckles under his breath.
“May I move now?” Eddie nods, gripping your hips as your both hiss and wince at the feeling. You crawl towards Steve and without hesitation he pulls you into his arms. “This is the second time this weekend someone I love has said something that just blows my mind. What are we doing with you? Baby… what would we do without you? Ow!” You both look down to see the metalhead cleaning between your legs. “Excuse you. Can I finish being all romantic and junk?”
“I’m not stopping you.”, he chuckles. “Plus, it’s a good distraction for me so I don’t smack him on the back of the head. ‘What are you doing with me’ he asks.” Eddie shakes his head as he tosses the rag towards the hamper in the corner of the room.
“You can’t talk cause you’re the same way! I know sometimes you wonder.”
“Not with you two. Not anymore.”, he smiles as he jumps back into bed. “I DO sit back at times and wonder what these kids are doing calling ME dad.”
“Ok, we need to have a family discussion because the men in the house are saying things…”
“Oh, calm down.”, Steve grins. “You worry and think about things you shouldn’t be either. We literally just had an argument about it yesterday!”
“I’m a mom. I just want everyone to be happy.”
Eddie reaches behind him and turns off the lamp before wrapping his arms around your waist and nuzzling his face into your shoulder. “I’ve never been happier. I love you both and those kids. I can’t wait to meet this new one whenever he comes.”
“He? I’m not even pregnant yet and we’re already taking guesses.”, you giggle.
Steve’s arm slings over you both as his other slides above your heads. Your palm reaches behind him, lightly rubbing his back like you know he likes.
“I think we’re going to have a boy to.”
Your eyes start to become heavy as you feel the blanket fall over your skin. “Hmm… you’ll have to think of name.”
A laugh escapes his throat at the thought. “I came up with Aurora. I think Eddie should come up with the baby’s name.” The metalhead’s steady breathing told you both he was already knocked out. “Honey?”
“Hm?”
Steve places a tender kiss on your forehead as he feels your fingers behind him gradually stop moving.
“I’ve never been happier either.”

Midlife Crisis
Should I write this into a longer fic or leave it as is? I hope you guys like it and please leave your thoughts in the comments!
~*~*~*~
Steve didn’t know what to do with his life. It was a common thought he had on his shifts at Family Video. What was he doing? He of all people knew how short life could be and yet, he was wasting his own. Steve spent his weekdays working soul-draining double shifts just to sleep all weekend or work some more to make a meager $3.25 an hour. It was pathetic.
He didn’t have any goals or aspirations. His friends were making plans, trying to impact the world and make a difference. Dustin was taking a bunch of STEM classes so he could apply to MIT in a few years and work at NASA like some type of hotshot mathematical genius. Robin was applying for elite linguistics programs at colleges across the country to understand more cultures and ways of communicating. Even Eddie ‘repeated high school three times’ Munson had goals. He was traveling to different cities with the band, trying to make it big as Corroded Coffin.
Steve’s biggest goal was to get out of bed in the morning and stay alive for another day but he wasn’t even doing that very well. He needed something to be interested in, something to devote his life to and take pride in but he had no idea where to even start.
Steve was twenty years old and having a midlife crisis. He hadn’t even enjoyed any of the twenty years he’d been around and now it felt like he was too late to do anything about it. He was too old for college, too dumb to get in even if he wasn’t. He couldn’t get a good job without a degree or quality life experience and he couldn’t mention any of that thanks to a stack of NDA’s.
He needed something though. His parents were done with housing their deadbeat son who managed to disappoint them with anything he attempted. He was sick of his friends saying that they had to study or they’d end up like him. And he was sick and tired of being the only person he knew that had nothing going for him.
So one day, he decided to be spontaneous. He put in an application to the University of Illinois with an entrance essay about personal struggles, neglect, and self-doubt. He poured his heart and soul into that essay hoping against all odds that the admittance committee would look past his mediocre grades and would take a chance on the kid that struggled all by himself behind a smiling facade.
He forgot about the application until he got a letter in the mail from the university. He almost threw it away right then but decided to take a look just to reinforce what he already knew, no college would want him.
But they did. They congratulated him on his acceptance into their school in the fall and complimented the writing skills in his essay. They said they looked forward to having him join their program and mentioned that he would make a difference.
So Steve took them up on it. He kept the news to himself until it was time to leave and said his goodbyes to the Party on his way out of town. He was moving on so they could too. Steve wouldn’t be the one holding them back anymore. Then, he drove past the Leaving Hawkins sign without a backwards glance.
Years later, Steve thought back on his midlife crisis. He was just a stupid kid at the time that didn’t know all of the options he had at his disposal. Now, he was a world-renowned novelist with novels on the New York Times Bestseller list. He never would’ve seen himself becoming a writer but here he was, working his dream job.
He never would’ve seen himself dating Eddie ‘the freak’ Munson either but here they were, partnered since 1988, married since 2014, and touring the world together on the Corroded Coffin international tour.
Steve was having a crisis about a lot of things but everything turned out better than he ever could have imagined. He could’ve given up or accepted that he would never make a difference in the world or have a purpose in life. But instead, he took a chance and now he was living the best life that he could’ve ever dreamed of.

Do you have any random headcanons for Kickin It, Cobra Kai, or The Outsiders? :O - cc-tinslebee
Kickin It:
Jerry x Milton and Jack x Kim double dates. Once both ships are together they will go on dates together and stuff, all though it usually ends in Kim and Milton facepalming at whatever stupid problem their significant others got themselves into this time.
I also feel like the Kim and Milton friendship is underrated, and would love for Kim to be the person Milton goes to when he first realizes he likes Jerry. As we’ve seen in other episodes, Kim is a great wingwoman, and would defiantly listen to all of Milton’s problems.
And they all keep in touch with Eddie, who moves back to Seaford after high school and they all remain friends for the rest of their lives.
Cobra Kai:
Demetri and Eli being oblivious best friends during season 4 until someone (I’d say Miguel but something about him makes me think they could make out in front of him and he wouldn’t notice) points it out that they act like they are in love. Cue bi panic.
They defiantly go to prom together where they beat who ever is running for prom royalty for Cobra Kai, or when they lose, start a big fight about it, in suits. (Demetri’s wearing seersucker).
When they have to do the wheel excise, to “learn to trust each other again” as Sensei Larruso put it, and they might fall once or twice but they mange to do it perfectly way faster then anyone else, and their just staring at them in awe.
While I think Lawrusso is a good ship, Amanda and Daniel’s relationship is to awesome to break apart, so what if was an open relationship where Daniel was romantically involved with both of them, and Amanda and Johnny are sarcastic best friends.
I personally really like Miguel x Sam, because they are both so sweet and cute together, I wouldn’t mind Miguel x Sam x Robby. It could be that Sam is dating both Miguel and Robby, but Miguel and Robby are not dating each other, or they could all be dating each other, because who doesn’t love bi/pan karate rivals to lovers.
The Outsiders:
I have this one headcannon where Dally was the person that Johnny told all his problems to. Like if it was the middle of the night, and his parents were fighting he would sneak out to the lot, and if Dally wasn’t there he would go to Buck’s. And Dally would take one look at his face, and just lead him upstairs to his room, and just sit on the bed listening while Johnny pours his heart out. And after they will fall asleep, Dally’s arms wrapped protectively around Johnny.
I am also a firm believer that Dally will fight anyone who even looks at Johnny wrong. Johnny’s already had  to stop him from storming over to his house on several occasions, after showing up at Buck’s with bruises and tears in his eyes.
My last (less sad headcannon) is that even though most of boys don’t celebrate their birthdays that much, the Curtis household(mostly Darry) always make sure to make a cake for them. Although it sometimes doesn’t end up how they planned, like that one time Steve put in salt instead of sugar for Ponyboy’s cake. They managed to get a new one so all was well.
I hoped you liked my headcannons, they were lots of fun to write.

i love hearing what you have to say about season 4!! i promise it’s not too long lol, anyway i have a question for you: what do you think the next season holds for mike & el? i’m a little worried tbh
ahhh thank you !! same rules apply: spoilers ahead, so please read no further and blacklist/filter out the ‘s4′, ‘st4′, ‘spoilers’ tags if you don’t want to see anything !!
i’m going to talk about them both as individuals and as a pair but first, i have to say that i don’t personally feel like you have to worry about them breaking up or anything again this season. i think s4 is really going to establish romantic jopper and once that happens, i don’t see them, mileven, or jancy not being endgame unless someone actually dies. which -- i’m not going to think about the possibility of anyone dying until i’m forced to confront it, so. this is fiction and it’s already unrealistic and i’m gonna take my ‘everyone survives, happiness all around, time to relax’ endings and go. anyway, i would love to add lumax to this list but i honestly think it could go either way depending on what happens in s4. that’s a different essay, though.
i tend to think that the most important dynamic on the show is the one between the whole group and i just don’t really see them spending much more time trying to develop romantic relationships outside of the ones set up since s1/2. maybe steve, robin, and will get love interests, maybe they decide to develop dustin and suzie more, maybe suzie is never even mentioned again, idk. but these will probably all be secondary -- as in less screen time, not less important than the main romances, but probably still less developed. unless it happens to be a new person added to the main cast. which, as of now, the only new mains are brett and priah who has gone from recurring to regular. so.
i think s3 showed how messy and complicated romantic relationships (or, really just relationships in general) can be. everyone was arguing, there was miscommunication all around, everyone thought they knew what was best, no one was seeing eye to eye. but when it comes down to it, they would do anything for each other. they understand each other better than anyone else ever could. i can’t see them spending another season on breakups and romance drama after the ending of s3.
mike and el have already been separated once before. this time, mike knows for sure that she’s alive and that’s she’s with the byers. this time, el won’t be kept completely isolated away from everyone else. they’ve made plans to meet for the holidays. they can still call and talk to each other as much as they want. i’m hoping they handle being separated this time better than they did in s2. i don’t want mike to be moping and i don’t want el to spend a lot of the season thinking about how much she misses him. in fact, i think in their case that some distance could be good for them. the same for jancy and jopper, too, honestly. it’ll be nice to see them existing outside of these relationships while still acknowledging how important they are.
as far as i know, the byers and el stuff has not started filming yet so all there is to speculate on are rumors, the audition tapes, and logical guesses about where the story goes after s3. el obviously moves away with the byers. we still don’t know where. she’ll still be mourning hopper and trying to figure out life without her powers. and, of course, she’ll be in a long distance relationship with mike. i think she’ll be having a hard time and she’ll wish that mike was around, but she’ll realize she’s got a pretty good support system around her now with the byers, too. i’m very, very excited for more joyce and el content particularly, but there’s gotta be some great scenes with her and will and jonathan as well.
there’s only one audition tape that i can confidently tie into the byers + el plot(s?) and it’s the queen bee/mean girl character ‘angela’. if we’re running with the whole ‘there may be some truth to the audition vids’ thing, then this one teases that el will be going to school and that angela will be bullying her. this is something she would probably want to talk about with mike (b i g troy s1 vibes) but i don’t know if she actually would ? so this is probably more a thing that el and will could bond over or that she could talk about with joyce or maybe jonathan. i do think there will be at least a few calls between the two of them before the action really hits and the whole group is (hopefully...) reunited.
so, el -- at least in the beginning of s4 -- will be going to school where ‘angela’ bullies her, forming a bond with joyce + will + jonathan and becoming part of the family, mourning hopper (+ hopefully having conversations about him + his past with joyce), missing her friends back in hawkins, continuing to learn how to navigate life without her powers, and trying to maintain a long distance relationship with mike.
mike... i’ve been seeing some wild theories about him today but they aren’t really that far-fetched i think. first, going back to the audition tapes, the ‘eddie’ audition i saw makes it seem like mike is going to be part of the hellfire club with dustin. i’ve recently learned that there’s another version of the scene where ‘eddie’ is only talking to dustin and mike might not be a part of the club after all. if he isn’t part of the club, then the basketball v. hellfire, jocks v. nerds thing turns into lucas v. dustin and mike’s probably there just caught in the middle while max is off distancing herself from everyone.
at this point, i really want mike and max to become good friends. i think the end of s3 gave them the perfect opportunity. s4 max has s2 mike vibes. it’s not the same situation at all, but he knows kinda what she’s feeling and they could connect through that + the fact that they’ll both be missing el. i also just really want... some wheeler siblings content. i’m hopeful that s4 gives us good nancy and mike scenes bc there’s no reason not to give us good nancy and mike scenes (+holly!). however...
while there’s proof that gaten and sadie and natalia and priah have all been filming since production restarted, and while i have reason to believe that caleb has been filming a lot inside/at the studio recently... there’s no evidence that finn has been on set. there’s none for maya and joe, either, but people have said that finn isn’t even in atlanta right now. maybe he is and maybe he just hasn’t been seen and maybe he’ll pop back up tomorrow. or, maybe he already filmed whatever he needed to film for hawkins before production stopped.
the wild theory that’s popped up today is that everything gets to be too much for him in hawkins and he just... hops on a train to go visit el + the byers. i don’t know if i buy it, but it is interesting to note that he was sitting with them at the table read. and since we can guess that steve and robin will still be working at the video store, robin and nancy will be investigating pennhurst together, lucas and max may have some angst, joyce and murray are probably teaming up for the finding/saving hopper plot, and el is going to bond with will and jonathan, it seems like the order might mean a little something. i’d even bet that dustin and erica have scenes with them bonding over d&d.
now this theory pretty much only exists because no one’s seen finn on set and one of the paps posted some pics of some trains. there’s also always theories about how there will be issues at home with the wheeler fam and if that’s going to happen, what better time than in s4 when all of his friends are pulling away and el’s gone again. so if he is missing el (and will) that much, and if he has any reason to worry about her and how she’s doing, or if the party becoming distant and issues at home are weighing on him and he feels like he needs to get away, he’s absolutely the type to venture off on a train by himself. i don’t know how it would work since he’s definitely supposed to still be in school and his friends/nancy at least would notice he’s gone, but.. it’s fun to think about and we’ve got zero actual content to go off of right now.
another way i could see mike’s plot going is that he’s the one trying to keep the party together this season. playing mediator with lucas and dustin, becoming better friends with max, being the connection between the hawkins plot and the byers plot (along with nancy).
there was also talk of him joining the track team bc the track has been set up with hawkins high colors for filming. but mike ‘this isn’t a stupid sports game’ wheeler? i don’t think so... basically, no one knows at the moment what’s happening with mike wheeler in s4 lol.
s4 mike is just like s4 byers fam -- a complete mystery to me currently. i don’t personally think that he’ll be leaving school and hopping on a train to visit el. i think he’ll be a part of the hellfire club with dustin, or that he won’t and instead will be attempting to keep the party from completely disbanding. i hope that we get wheeler siblings scenes and that max and mike have a breakthrough and become better friends. i also feel like he’ll be having some complicated feelings about hopper, the last interaction they had, etc. and, again, the whole long distance thing with el.
so... mike and el broke up in s3. it was messy. but then they reconciled. and then hopper “died”. s3 ended with them at this weird place where she’s heard him say that he loves her and she’s told him that she loves him back. things are a little awkward in the scene bc everything has changed at this point, but a kiss, an ‘i love you’, planning to meet up on the holidays, and promising to call frequently all sounds like they’re back together and going to try making the long distance thing work to me.
i think they’ll be together when s4 starts. i think that we’ll probably only see them talking on the phone or their radios for the first few eps. maybe we’ll see flashbacks or something to them being together on the holidays. the distance might be hard and they’re definitely going to be missing each other. like... el doesn’t have mike or hopper with her now and i’m thinking the party is going to be drifting apart, plus they’re both probably going to have other personal issues that have nothing to do with each other or the party. maybe they’ll be experiencing some emotional distancing of their own while dealing with the aftermath of hopper’s “death”, the move, and whatever’s going on with them at home and at school. i think that once they reunite (probably not until the last half of the season), they’re likely to be stronger than ever.
now, onto personal theories that have zero basis. for some reason, i can’t get it out of my head that this season might dive into psychological horror a little bit ? like a greatest fears type of thing ?? and i keep thinking about brenner popping back up and using the people el loves to get to her or something and 👀

here are some thoughts from my (first, somewhat late) watch of 10.15!
we start off with adam intimidating a minion and threatening his life while they’re reburying three bodies. cool. this is totally something he can come back from.
joanna! danny’s mystery woman has a name! i very vaguely caught some annoyance/confusion about her name here on tumblr because apparently somewhere else (outside of the episodes, i assume?) she’d been called something else, if i understood correctly? but seeing as i missed most of that, i’m honestly just glad she has a name now.
also! joanna texting her sister/friend (i don’t really know who she is for sure?) that she met a guy at a bar - thank god, tbh, because last episode it looked like she just randomly had sex with a stranger (which is fine) and then got into his car to let him drive her home (which is not fine, because we may know danny is an okay guy, but she had no earthly way of knowing that).
“it wasn’t your fault. you did everything you could. it means a lot to me that you’re here.” kudos to sister/friend for not falling into the trap of blaming danny and piling onto his guilt subplot!
STEVE is WAITING OUTSIDE when danny leaves the morgue, oh god. that makes total sense and i’m glad for it, but i somehow didn’t expect them to show that.
steve: “you wanna talk about it?” nothing super clever to say here, but it just make me really, really happy every single time steve asks danny if he wants to talk about something (or just pushes him into it, ocassionally) because!! that’s good!! that’s healthy!! that’s a really good friendship, and i’m proud of steve. (on a slightly related note, i’ve been watching a lot of 9-1-1 and reading some fic and while a lot of that fic is really fun, i kind of feel like many of the writers in that fandom give eddie at least double the capability to deal with emotional turmoil in himself or others that he is shown to have in canon. eddie diaz is basically what danny sometimes accuses steve of being, only eddie is actually closed off and struggling with repressing everything he ever feels that much, and steve has by this point had years to learn healthier ways of coping and he is not that person anymore, at all. he knows how to talk about emotions and he does it, too, and the funny thing is that i’m pretty sure he learned a lot of that by making danny talk to him about danny’s emotions, which steve did all the time right from the very start because he cares about danny and wants him to be mentally happy and healthy, and tl;dr, steve and danny’s friendship makes them both happier, more emotionally stable people and that makes me emotional.)
tani teaching a class at the police academy and bonnie (grover’s niece) absolutely acing all her classes and tani and bonnie hanging out and getting lunch together and tani subtly mentoring bonnie IS ALL VERY GOOD.
fdjfkdjkfd oh god. i was so happy with this scene and then suddenly bonnie has a boyfriend and it’s the dude who buried bodies with adam a moment ago. so... is he a bad guy (i hope not, because i’m already a little tired at the idea of another cool female character getting in trouble all the time because she’s dating yakuza and that’s for some reason the most interesting thing the writers could think to do with her), or is he undercover? is adam undercover? are they BOTH undercover but they don’t know it about the other guy so they just keep committing crimes to look like badass criminals when really they’re just both trying to catch the other in a seriously bad crime?
oh god, there’s this whole scene with the academy recruits on the shooting range and tani keeps drilling them on shooting faster (which i have... thoughts about, too, but let’s not get into that) and they make it really explicit that bonnie is the fastest and definitely faster than her boyfriend and this, uh, really looks like foreshadowing for bonnie ending up having to draw her weapon on the boyfriend at some point.
adam to lou: “thanks for the coffee date.” i must say, very unexpected ship they’re pushing now. :p
adam: [starts saying things, possibly making up excuses] lou: “no, no, come on, you don’t have to explain anything to me.” let the man talk, lou!!! if you don’t want to hear it, i do.
ahhhh, lou is keeping adam occupied while steve searches adam’s apartment. things are making more sense now. (though lou does call steve to tell him to wrap things up like a minute after his coffee date with adam started, and also at most a dozen feet away from adam where chances are definitely above zero of adam being able to hear him, fjdkdf.)
steve had “a feeling” about adam. no need to be so jealous, danny.
wait, wait, adam is back on five-0? i... they probably showed or mentioned that in a recent episode, i think, but apparently i’ve really just been turning my brain off during this subplot because i do not remember that at all. (this is why i like bingewatching things, because at least then i have a clearer picture of what happened in the episodes right before, gosh.)
danny: “... but the point is that if i was a human being...” love it. love the subtle implication that danny is not a human being, but in fact an alien from new jersey, which as we all know is in outer space.
bonnie’s boyfriend is not officially bonnie’s boyfriend yet and she thinks he might be seeing someone on the side, and this is sad because as viewers we all know that that someone IS ADAM (and three dead guys). just not like that, though. probably.
bonnie: [tells tani her potential bf has two phones] tani: “hm, okay. this one’s easy: run.” YES. PLEASE DO.
quinn!!! i was starting to wonder if this was one of those mysteriously quinn-less episodes.
oh nooo, bonnie sneaks around potential bf’s house and then STEPS ON A TWIG. c’mon, girl.
fdjkfd the guys catch her and now i remember that this episode description said she was going to get kidnapped and adam would help get her back. this will be... interesting.
quinn’s awkward face while lou is yelling in surprise about bonnie having a boyfriend is absolute gold.
lou yells at tani for not telling him anything about the boyfriend yesterday but honestly, she does not deserve that.
also: all those dramatic shots on adam’s face, oh dear. is the rest of the team seeing that expression he has? are they seeing all these close-ups?
adam threatens his yakuza rival in an effort to help get bonnie back. is this supposed to be redemption for adam? i’m confused.
lou says it’s not tani’s fault and he apologizes! this is an episode of people realizing they shouldn’t put the blame on innocent bystanders (instead of one that attempts to heighten the drama by milking misplaced anger for all that it’s worth) and i like it.
siobhan has been tied up in some shed in the woods and endo (the potential boyfriend) is feeling bad about it but is unwilling to untie her, god. (quick detour, though: i’ve been wondering this since the beginning of the episode, but how is siobhan even at the hpd academy now? i was under the impression during her first appearance this season that she was in her last year of high school, so when did she even graduate?)
i do feel for endo (which i like! it’s cool to see a Bad Guy be not pure evil but believably conflicted), but leaving your almost-girlfriend in a cabin in the woods for your godfather to “take care of it” with a sad look and “i’m really sorry” is not the best of moves, my dude.
tani and quinn: we have good news! hpd intercepted endo and steve and lou are about to question him! adam: [sweats]
endo lies his ass off in interrogation which makes him interesting but also costs him a lot of sympathy points from my end.
lou pretty much assaults endo while he’s cuffed to a chair in the interrogation room. i get why these emotions make for good tv, but uh, hm, maybe five-0 should at some point consider a policy of not letting people who are personally involved in cases near suspects, because this does kind of seem to keep happening.
jfdkfd, adam confronts endo in lock-up, endo taunts him and says adam can’t tell anyone in five-0 what he knows because he’d have to tell them how he knows endo, the team finds out that endo has yakuza ties and go to confront endo about it and he’s gone. omfg, adam, how are you managing to fuck your own life up this effectively in such a short amount of time, after you fought all those years to get away from everything you’re doing now?
siobhan gets herself free!!! and then runs right into guys with guns outside the cabin, of course, because this is tv timing, but still, WELL DONE.
fdjkfdkjfd, adam’s brilliant plan to solve the situation is to call up the rival yakuza boss and threaten to kill his godson out of revenge. this is. this is maybe not a great idea.
adam: “in case you haven’t been paying attention, kenji, i’m not afraid of much these days.” oh adam, buddy, don’t brag about misplacing the entirety of your common sense.
the team is watching adam load endo into the back of a car on tape and it’s honestly kind of hilarious. steve asks danny how he would explain this and that’s hilarious, too, because they’re seeing their (ex-?)friend load a stolen suspect into a car to run off with him, thereby betraying all of them and everything they stand for, and steve is taking this opportunity to turn to danny and go “see, i was right”. fjdkfd.
steve’s gut says adam will come through for them in delivering siobhan, and we all know steve’s gut is secretly psychic, so that’s a spoiler. :p
and it does happen!!! i’m glad to see bonnie back in a safe place.
oh god. adam randomly appears from between the foilage to look serious and share a meaningful nod with steve. is he... is he officially on the other side now? they’re not still going to let him be part of five-0, are they?
domestic steve and danny in the(ir) kitchen!!! steve is giving eddie danny’s breakfast!!! and then there’s something about endo having hacked into hpd’s database, because of course they need to attach some ongoing threat to this, but honestly, who cares about plot when there’s “don’t shame my dog. i’m cooking you eggs, alright?” and danny saying steve doesn’t have to cook him eggs but steve already doing it anyway while danny is once again randomly sitting on the kitchen counter and steve cuts danny off before danny can request his eggs a little burned because steve already knows how danny likes his eggs, obviously, because steve is a stalker when it comes to danny. yes!! this is stuff i like a lot.
danny is saying he could probably get out of steve’s space soon and steve has the excuse of very intently (and yet somehow also very badly, it looks like) scrambling those eggs, but he’s also definitely, 100% avoiding looking at danny in that moment, and then he starts saying how there’s no paint yet and that’s bad and danny should stay. just. just move in together officially, you guys. just do it. nobody would be surprised. you know it would make both of you very happy. this is not even a ship thing, but just, oh my god, these two humans so clearly want to be in each other’s space and they keep coming up with excuses and getting this close to admitting that maybe neither of them wants danny to leave and then yelling at each other about eggs and how it’s not bacon day. it can be bacon day, steve. it could even be pancake day. it could be pancake day every day for the rest of your natural lives if you just told danny you wanted that.
overall, this was a very fun episode! i’m honestly just really happy with this season in general - quinn being added to the team does maybe not look like much progress on the subject of female characters, because she’s just one person, but there have been SO MANY scenes of her and tani together by now and genuinely, their friendship is healing my soul and watering my crops. i’m still not sure what to make of the adam subplot, but if they’re doing what it kind of looks like they’re doing - permanently putting him on the other side of the fence, back with the yakuza - that could actually be somewhat interesting. i’m just really, really scared that even after all of this they’re going to try to give him some kind of redemption arc that just has no chance of making sense anymore after everything that’s happened.

Lucky 13 - Chapter 4: A Promise To Be Broken
Chapter 3 x Chapter 5
Lucky 13 Official Playlist - Chapter 4 Exclusive Playlist
read on ao3
a/n: this took a while but i hope you guys arent mad about it :’)
Jonathan could see it now.
He never noticed it before, maybe because it wasn’t there, but it definitely was now. He didn’t know how long it had been there, or how powerful it was, but it was there. The connection between Mike and Will was obvious.
At first, he believed Mike spent so much time at their house for El, because Mike was most obviously crushing on his new little sister, he had heard from Nancy about the kiss at the Snow Ball last year, and how enamored the young Wheeler was by Eleven.
But somewhere along the lines, things changed. Recently, actually. He feels as if it was something he should have figured out before. But he didn’t.
To be fair, he was busy. It was December, and the high school had just a week until they were free for Winter Break. Jonathan was stressed. He had to balance school work, his portfolio for NYU, his relationship with Nancy, and his very odd, newfound friendship with Steve Harrington.
It was weird, how easy he got along with Steve when they were not fighting. They had a lot in common, the most odd being a taste in music. It was often that when Nancy was too busy studying to accompany Jonathan to take pictures for his portfolio, then it was Steve that went with him. They would often drive to the street just outside of Derry, park alongside the road, and venture into the treeline for Jonathan to take picture of the wildlife. More often than not, they drove much farther than they needed to, belting out the words to songs from a mixtape Jonathan had brought.
It was one of those times now, they had hadn’t driven at all this time, instead choosing to fight the bitter cold of Derry to snap a few shots of their new hometown. A comfortable silence overcame them as Jonathan trained his camera at the street sign of an intersection. ‘The Corner of Neibolt & Jackson’ Jonathan had written when his camera spit out the picture, he quickly tucked the picture into his bag, turning around and heading forward on Jackson street.
“They’re getting me my own place.” Steve spit out. Jonathan looked at him, eyebrow quirked. “The dudes. They’re paying for an apartment for me.” Jonathan realized that Steve was talking about the government officials overseeing their stay in Derry.
Usually, they didn’t have contact with the government, mostly when they first had moved to Derry. Steve and Billy’s new cars, Hopper’s new job on the Derry Police Force, their houses. It was all consolation, making up for the lives they essentially ruined by allowing Hawkins Lab to do what they did.
“That’s awesome.” Jonathan said, quietly. He didn’t quite know what to say, they didn’t have too many conversations outside scream-singing, or Steve asking why Jonathan chose to ‘snap a picture of that crack needle.’
“Yeah, I’m thinking about having a party on New Years. The kids and us, you know? They need some fun, they’ve all been really on edge since we moved here.” Steve explained.
“Cool.” Jonathan said, fiddling with his camera again, lifting it up to his eye and snapping a picture, making sure it was in focus.
“One of Dustin’s friends said something happened with Will.” Stave said.
Jonathan’s head snapped towards the other man. “What?”
“The little kid, Eddie from across the street. Said he hoped Will was okay after his epileptic episode.”
Jonathan was confused. “What? Will doesn’t have epilepsy.”
Steve’s eyebrows furrowed this time. “Oh, well they said he had a little bit of an episode in the arcade, so I don’t know, man.” Jonathan’s heart sank. An episode? Could it have been….

Max was used to being the only girl.
When she had chased The Party last year, she had been the only girl. Of course, she learned about El, but she wasn’t there then. It was quickly after the gate had been closed and Max and El actually took time to themselves that El realized that Max wasn’t a threat to her.
But it was different when you’re the only girl in a group of friends with 10 other boys. The big group wasn’t able to blend into the walls anymore. People noticed them, noticed that they were exclusive to hanging out with each other. A nickname that the original seven had earned last year apparently stuck, and now Max was the sole female member of the new and improved Loser’s Club of Derry High.
A fact not lost on Gretta Keene, who had made it her personal goal to make Max’s life a living hell since she first laid eyes on her. Max, who was now known as ‘fire-crotch’ or ‘Beaverly 2.0’ did not take too kindly to this.
She was spending the last week before Winter Break on suspension after she had decided that her skateboard was the perfect projectile to launch at Gretta.
She spent most of those days with Eleven, even showing her a couple of things from her homework packets.
“Max…” Eleven’s small voice came from Max’s side.
“Yeah, El?” Max answered.
“I did something bad.”
“What? What did you do?”
“I used my powers.”
“Oh……kay? You do that almost every day. What’s the problem?”
“I used them…..Bill saw.” El was struggling to find the right words, now.
“What? When?”
“92 days ago.” Eleven twiddled her fingers. She then went on to explain the event as best she could. Slowly, Max gathered that while she used her powers in front of Bill, he didn’t actually see her using any kind of powers. And that there was a balloon.
“Well, I think that it’s okay. They haven’t said anything about it, so they can’t know.” Max said, putting her homework into her folders. “Come on, let’s get the board set up.” The Party was having their first D&D campaign as just the six of them for the first time in a while.
El smiled. “Yes. Let’s.”

Stan decided there was definitely something up with the six kids from Hawkins.
He thought that as he was sitting on the couch in Bill’s living room. They were all writing letters to Beverly, as they do every month, as a group. Bill and Ben send letters to her nearly every week, but they all kept in touch by sending one as a group to her. They often took that time to write individual letters to her as well.
He thought about her story, what she saw in the lights. He hadn’t told the club that he had seen any lights himself. They simply thought that It had been trying to devour him, but he knew that wasn’t it. That the scars littering his skin were the first step to It’s plan. The images It showed Stan were the second step. Stan knew that following the next steps were all his own choice, but he couldn’t help it.
He was shaken out of his thoughts as a hand softly landed on his shoulder. His eyes followed the hand up an arm, towards a shoulder, and finally up to a pale, lensed face. Richie.
“Stan? It’s your turn to write.” Richie said, holding out the postcard and lined paper to him. Stan took the items from his hands, and quickly signed the post card. He set the lined paper on the table.
Four paragraphs already adorned the paper. Ben’s, Eddie’s, Richie’s, and finally Mike’s. Stan’s was always the fifth paragraph down. Bill liked to end the letters, which he would usually send off to the post office on the groups behalf.
Stan didn’t really want to write anything, but he was able to scrounge up some words about how he missed her, and that high school was way different than middle school (She seemed super, super happy when she found out that Stan had indeed managed to skip 8th grade). Ending it with how he passed his quiz in geometry. He passed the letter lazily to Bill.
Much to his surprise, Bill handed the letter directly to Ben, asking the other boy to seal it and stamp it, he then turned back to Stan, nodding past the other boy to the staircase, then promptly got up, knowing Stan would follow, which he did.
When they were sealed inside of Bill’s room, he turned to Stan. Within only three months, Bill had managed to surpass Stan’s previous reign as tallest loser. Bill steeled his ocean eyes directly into Stan’s. “Wh-what is….what’s the matter?” Bill asked after a moment.
“What do you mean? Nothing’s wrong.” Stan said, bringing his hands from his hips and folding them over his chest.
Bill mirrored Stan’s pose. “No, s-something is definitely up. You’ve b-barely hung out with m-me since school started. I know th-that th-this s-s-s-“ Bill swallowed thickly. “I know this sss-summer sucked, buh-but I miss spending time w-with you.” Bill stated, now looking at the floor.
Stan should have known this wasn’t some kind of forceful interrogation. Bill was simply worried about him, and missed him. “It’s nothing Bill, really. I mean, of course it’s something, but it’s something I have to push through. This summer, my life changed. All of our lives changed. Now with Dustin and Lucas and them here, I don’t think things are ever gonna be normal again, and you know how that makes me feel.” And Bill did, he knew how much Stan hated change.
“Yeah, I g-guess I sh-should have b-b-been trying harder to hang out with y-y-you, like Richie does.” Bill says, looking even more dejected.
“No, Bill, it’s….it’s not your fault, really. You and Eddie, you guys are still my best friends, I swear. It’s just…Richie is the only other one who I can spent hours with and not have what happened this summer brought up. Richie and his stupid jokes are the only things that feel the same.” Stan says, tears gathering in his eyes.
His stomach jumped as Bill wrapped his arms around Stan’s waist and brought their chests together. Bill waited a few beats, knowing that if Stan didn’t similarly wrap his arms around him then he wasn’t okay with the touch. The tension eased as Stan wrapped his arms around Bill’s shoulders, and they embraced for the first time in months. Bill finally spoke. “I promise..” Bill started, swallowing the stutter that was surely trying to come out. “I promise that I’ll try my best to make things normal for you again. Even if that means making a new normal.” Bill’s arms squeezed a bit at that. “But you have to promise me you’ll try and be okay.”
Stan’s grip almost faltered. He knew it would come to this, knew there would be plenty of lies told. And he prepared himself, he didn’t let his grip loosen, didn’t let the confidence seep out of his voice. “I promise.”
Another promise he was going to break.
-
Finally, snow arrived in Derry.
One day after the school let out for winter break, the ground of Derry was covered in about two inches of the white powder.
And finally, it was time for one of Richie’s favorite events of the year, the Loser Club’s annual snowball fight. It was usually just the original four. Bill and Eddie vs. Richie and Stan. Richie and Stan were currently the reigning champs, and had won the past 3 years. The rules were simple, whichever team was covered in the most snow after an hour lost. Stan being Stan, was naturally good at everything. He had great aim, and was very adept at dodging and weaving.
But now, with the inclusion of Mike and Ben, and the party, there were 12 kids taking part in this years, the teams were a bit different now. They decided that on this first day, it would be The Loser’s Club vs The Party.
Richie looked on with extreme excitement when Mike stepped forward, tall and proud as The Party’s team captain. He looked Richie dead in the eyes, and an entire wave of confusion washed over the whole party when Richie flashed a devious smile, took a few steps back, and let Bill stand in front of Mike.
Bill was, without a doubt, their fearless leader, after all. Richie watched as the two tall boys shook hands, agreeing on a half hours time to prepare for the fight. Snowballs, any defensive structures, and placing of their teams. The fight was taking place in the Barrens, and the Losers’ Club had the home field advantage.
Whenever you’ve been hit with three snowballs, you’re out.
Richie was once again paired with Stan this year, they were a dream team, a dynamic duo, they were unstoppable. Stan hadn’t been hit with a snowball in two years! They were gonna own this, and not without some trash talk from the trash mouth himself!
“Hey Mike! When we kick your ass you gotta let me hook up with your sister, yeah!?” Richie yelled across the stream, towards the other boy.
Mike simply threw a disgusted face and flipped him the bird before running off with the quiet girl, Jane.
Eddie and Ben were making the snowballs, quickly, but making sure there were no rocks lodged inside of them. Bill and Mike were busying themselves by hoisting up sticks and leaning them on the trees, creating a little bit bigger spaces to hide behind, in case of invasion.
Stan and Richie were running down the stream. Stan, the tactical genius that he is, planned that if two of them circled around, not only would they most likely have the element of surprise, but they would avoid being hit in case all six other kids stormed across the river, and they could take them down from the inside out.
“Now, that means you have to keep your trash mouth shut, trashmouth.” Stan instructed as they hurried down the riverbed.
Richie simply smirked, and waited until Stan said it was time to attack.
After waiting what seemed like forever, Stan finally scooped up snow, formed it into a ball, handed it to Richie and made another one for himself. Stan nodded past him and they began to cross the river bed into enemy territory.
Richie couldn’t see anyone except for Stan. It was still snowing lightly, and the boys had a fair amount of snow accumulating in the curls that tuck out from beneath each of their beanies. The snow was not crunchy, and completely diffused any sound their footsteps could make, so they had to keep a sharp eye out for anyone else.
After a fe minutes of walking, Stan grabbed Richie’s wrist and pulled him behind a tree. Richie stared into Stan’s eyes as Stan stared back.
“Get down!” Stan yelled, pulling Richie into a crouching position as three snowballs splattered against the tree where their heads had just been. The two losers sped around the other side of the tree, and dashed opposite of the way that the snowballs had come.
A few minutes of sprinting, and weaving so that they dodged the snowballs that the ones following them threw. Stan and Richie looked at each other, knowing what to do.
Once they hit a familiar clearing, they turned ninety degrees and dashed away from each other. Once right inside the tree line, Richie stopped, ducking behind a tree and peeking out to see his attackers arrive in the clearing.
Dustin and Lucas were the first to show. They each clutched a single snowball, scanning the small clearing in sync. Soon, another body appeared, and MadMax herself walked between the two boys, a devious smirk on her lips and a snowball in each hand. With the snow caught in her long, uncapped hair, she really did look like winter fire.
Richie scooped up snow, rolled two snowballs and counted the seconds.
After exactly 10 seconds, he saw Dustin get beamed right in his head with a snowball, a matching one following soon after in the shoulder. Richie took aim and lobbed one of his at the curly haired boy, hitting him in the chest. He threw the other in his hand at Max, but she noted where the third snowball came from and backed up just in time, the snowball nearly catching her in the head as she sprinted back the way she came.
Lucas was not as in sync with her, as he threw his snowball into the opposite tree line. Richie knew he missed when, with precision, another snowball came sailing out, exploding into powder on his brown jacket. Richie scooped up snow as Lucas did the same. Richie ran out of the trees with a scream, and Lucas whirled around, confused as another snowball came sailing out of the opposite side, beaming him in the head. Richie dealt the last blow with his snowball, and Lucas looked shocked.
Stan waltzed out from the opposite tree line as Dustin and Lucas looked on, dazed and out of the game. Stan wore a smirk as he held out a hand for a high five. Richie enthusiastically raised his own to meet the other boy when he felt the sharp sting of a snowball pelting his back.
Turning around, he saw the red-haired devil herself, smirking, before she turned around and sprinted back into the woods.
Almost immediately, Stan and Richie took off after her, Lucas and Dustin screaming “RUN MAX!” as well.
Following what he believed to be a flicker of red hair, Richie didn’t realize how long he had been running, until he came to a rocky part of the barrens, and realized where he was. The entrance of the sewers lay ahead of him, and a boy stood, staring at the wide open mouth of the entrance, with what looked like the remnants of a snowball hit splattered on his right shoulder
Richie scooped up snow and formed a snowball, slowly stepping towards the boy that he now recognized as Will. Carefully, he spoke. “Hey, don’t you know what hiding means?” He prepared to chuck his snowball, but Will did not turn around, just kept staring at the sewers.
Horrified, Richie lowered his arm and grabbed the other boys shoulders, whirling him around himself. “Will? Are you okay?”
Will’s unfocused eyes now seemingly readjusted, looking at Richie’s face. “What? Yeah I’m-“ He was cut off by a snowball smacking him dead in the face. Whipping his head around, Richie saw a seemingly pissed off Eddie, eyes glaring at the pair.
Richie looked at Will, who was now wiping the snow off of his face, and shrugged, giving him an apologetic look as he lazily lobbed his snowball into Will’s chest, spinning on his heel and running after Eddie.
He spent a while chasing after the shorter boy, who’s seemed to not want anything to do with Richie at the moment, running away from him as if he was the enemy.
Eddie eventually came to a stop in the clearing where he knew their base was, and found it empty.
Or so it seemed.
It was too late by the time he heard Stan screaming “Watch out!”
In almost slow motion, Richie watched as Jane, Mike and Max popped out of their respective hiding spots across the stream, zoning in on the small boy and making their pitches. 1, 2, 3 times the snowballs exploded across Eddie’s body.
Dramatically, Richie was screaming out “No!” Scooping up snow, forming his own projectile, and launching himself into a blind rage as snowballs began flying all around.
He could recall seeing Ben fall to the same strategy that Eddie succumbed to when he scooted too far out from behind their tree defenses. He was almost sure none of his snowballs hit as he was too focused on avenging Eddie’s loss.
He could recount feeling the sting of another snowball as he and Party Mike threw matching hits at each other, the difference being that Mike was pelted shortly after from Stan and Bill.
His eyes could barely focus as his own Mike stepped out, and he could hear two hard hits beat on the bigger boys chest. Mike fell to his knees as the quiet girl Jane landed the killing blow to Mike. He looked over, and could see Max standing directly his opposite across the stream from him, clean of any snowball hits. They matched each others’ movements perfectly as they knelt down and rolled up their snowballs. Max nudged Jane behind a tree and she and Richie maintained eye contact, seeming to will the other to take the first shot.
Just when Max smirked and raise her arm to throw, she did something unexpected, refocusing her aim to someone else, and throwing her snowball with all her force at Stan. Stan stood, obviously not expecting that, as the snowball sailed towards him. It never made contact as Bill stepped in front of the jewish boy, taking a clean hit to the face, what looked like his first one.
Max’s smirk melted off her face when Stan let out a scream and hit her squarely in the face with a snowball of his own. The second snowball came when Richie threw the one forgotten in his hands, the third and final blow coming as revenge from Bill himself, and the redhead fell flat on the ground, out of the game.
Richie, Bill, and Stan all nodded at each other as they scooped up snow, and stalked across the frozen stream towards the last remaining party member left, the quiet girl, Jane.
Jane backed away until she hit a tree, and when the three loser boys primed themselves, wrenched their arms back and proceeded to throw their snowballs in sync, she raised her arm.
There, in the middle of the clearing, the three snowballs floated in mid air. Everyone watched in disbelief as Jane let out a yell, pushed forward with her arm, and the three snowballs flew back at their respective throwers, along with almost all of the snow from tree Jane was leaning against, blanketing the three boys in snow.
No one made any attempt to move at all, instead staring at the quiet girl.
Jane slowly made to wipe the thin trail of blood leaking out of her nose. She looked as if she had been caught with her hand in a cookie jar.
A snowball exploded straight in her face.
All heads whizzed toward the direction the snowball had flown from, and standing the edge of the clearing, was a head of fiery hair wrapped in a warm, homemade knit cap.
Beverly Marsh.
She smirked at the eyes staring at her, her own crystalline ones glinting.
“Hey there, Losers.”

~
June 30th, 1986
Mike, Dustin, Lucas, Max, and Eleven had gotten together that day, and would be seeing each other a lot more now that summer has arrived.
They were riding their bicycles to the tiny playground in Hawkins, which was surrounded by woods.
Hopper trusted Eleven enough to go out too, so she was content and excited about that.
Will was the only one absent from the group, since he was having epileptic seizures the past few nights, and was in the hospital since that morning, when Joyce booked an appointment with the neurologist
“So, is anyone nervous for high school in September?” Dustin asked the group
“Not me,” Max laughs, “I’m in an all-grade school.”
“I think we should be fine, Dusty.” Mike said
“Yeah, as long as you don’t do that thing with your teeth.” said Lucas
Dustin does that usual cat impression, purring.
“Seriously man, don’t do that.” said Lucas
“So, El,” Mike changed the subject, “Are you planning on coming to high school with us? We could see each other more and everything!”
Eleven looked at him, then down
“I don’t know…” she responded, “I will have to convince my dad. Hopefully next year.”
“So what’s everyone’s plans for Fourth of July?” Mike had asked
“I don’t know about you guys, but Steve and Johnathan gave me and Will extra tickets to see The Clash in Boston!” said Dustin
Mike and Eleven and Max and Lucas already planned a double date for going to see the fireworks later that night on the Fourth of July.
The two couples were also planning on going to Derry’s Fourth of July fair. It ran from 11:30 - 6 pm, and Mike had convinced them to go around 11:30 or 12. Mike didn’t want to bump into his brother Richie, and he knew the losers were not planning on going until around 2:30.
“Seriously Mike, how come you’re always trying to separate me and Richie?” Dustin groaned, “If it was Bill or Stan you wouldn’t care!”
“You’re not even going to be in town!” Mike responded, “But you know what he’s like. He’s my brother, and I don’t want him to embarrass me in front of you guys or any of the other losers.”
“Well…he’s not that bad.” said Lucas
Max nodded in agreement with what Lucas and Dustin said.
“Not happening, guys.” said Mike, “We’ll meet up with Bill’s group some other time.”
The five of them had spent the rest of the overcast afternoon on their bikes, talking, planning stuff, and talking about high school.
A car had pulled up to the dirt road parking lot of the playground.
The five of them were the only ones in the park, they figured people thought it was going to rain, all because it was cloudy.
All of them had noticed the people in the car were just sitting there. Not getting out, and it didn’t look like they were planning to leave any time soon.
Neither of them could tell if they were males or females, since they were to far away.
But they all felt like the car of 2 or more people were watching them, but they had decided to ignore them.
After about 5 minutes, the car had honked
They looked over, and noticed a girl step out of the vehicle, the driver of the car. All the while calling out “Hey! Excuse me!”, followed by three other girls leering out behind her.
Neither of the five knew what to say, and were just confused. They watched as they slowly made their way over the swings they were hanging around
“Hi there..” the leader sighed in a high-pitch voice.
“Um, hello?” Lucas responded
The leader of the pack looked like she was unsure of what to say, all the while the other three girls behind her glared over at them.
The five of them knew that these girls were giving off a creepy vibe, and didn’t really look like girls when they glanced at them a second time.
“Sorry, I was just thinking for a minute,” the leader responds after several moments of awkward silence, “Hi Max, I take you’re Billy’s sister?”
“Not by blood, thank god.” Max grumbled
“Let me introduce ourselves.” said the leader, “My name is Hillary, and these are my friends Catherine, Bethany, and Victoria.”
“And you’re telling us this because?” Dustin wondered
“Because I can.” “Hillary” growled whilst shaking, “I’m sorry about talking to you that way, we just wanted to ask about dir -”
“She” looked over at Mike, studying him
“Hey, do you have a twin by any chance?” “Hillary” had asked
“Yeah, unfortunately. Why?”
“Nothing.” she glared over at him, and “her” expression changed when “she” said “Just wondering, that’s all.”
Mike stared down, avoiding direct eye contact with these sketchy looking girls.
“About the directions,” “Hillary” changed the subject, “Can you point to us Hawkins High school?”
The five of them awkwardly pointed the direction, then the four “girls” turned back around, making their way back to the car.
“Thank you!” the leader called out, and they had gotten into their car fast, while the tires screeched down the dirt road, a belch could be heard from their open windows.
Mike and the rest of them waited until the car was out of sight, and walked up to the parking lot, just wandering up there from curiosity.
That’s when Lucas noticed something on the ground
He picked up the piece of paper, all crumpled up, while Max looked over his shoulder
“Oh. My god. Mike! Guys!” Lucas called out
“What is it?” Mike asked, while everyone huddled over Lucas
What read on the note was the following:
Leave clothes over by school. Next time leave them by open field at Hawkins. Away from Derry. Ask It’s partner in crime, to not strike those fag kids until school starts. We got most of them. But the job is not done.
“Holy shit, those clothes we found last time…” Dustin shuddered, “I saw - Did any of you -”
The group seemed to know what he was talking about. All of this sounded sketchy, and they all had seen a man with a suit before, but were unable to see his face.
Eleven’s nose had began to bleed
“El, are you okay?” Mike wrapped his arm around her, comforting Eleven
“We need to tell dad about this.” Eleven croaked
Neither of them bothered to question, as those girls they had just witnessed seemed sketchy, as did the note.
~
July 4th, 1986
The losers had met up around 2 pm to go to Derry’s Fourth of July fair, they had a long day ahead of them.
Beverly and Ella had dropped over to the pharmacy to pick up Beverly’s aunt’s prescriptions earlier, around noon before they met with the rest of the losers. Keene’s Pharamacy was the only other thing open on the Fourth of July.
“Here for the prescriptions, ladies?” Mr. Keene had asked
They nodded, then he had disappeared in the corner
“You know girls,” Greta spins the chair facing the two of them, “I’m surprised you allow yourselves to hang around with those other boys. They will take advantage of the two of you, but you don’t seem to care, too bad. Beaverly and Ellie -”
“Don’t. Call me that.” Ella glares, emotionless
“Aww, you are just like Eddie.” Greta chuckles, “All timid and everything. I feel sorry your mom turned you guys into losers. Makes me so sad.”
Beverly shook her head in disbelief
“Bet you guys, Beaverly and Ellie, are having lesbian sex every night. Just saying.” Greta says with a smirk
While El fumes silently and sighs in disbelief, Bev sighs and takes a deep breath, neither of them wanted to mess with Greta in any way. Besides, they knew they wouldn’t have to see her scary dirty looks in high school as much, anyway.
Instead two of them walked slowly away, browsing random items while ignoring her lude comments.
“Mrs. Marsh?” Mr. Keene calls out
“Thank you.” Beverly said with a smile
When they walked out, they glanced over to find Greta looking up at them, while mouthing “Later, losers.”
“S-S-So g-g-guys, are an-n-ny of you n-n-nervous for h-h-high s-school?” Bill had asked the group, while they were all sitting on the grass, which was onlooking the Derry town fair.
“Not if we all stick together.” said Stan, “I’m just glad I passed grade 9 with an 92 average. My father was really proud.”
“I passed with 54 in history. PE was good, rest were 50′s and 60′s.” said Richie, “Got kicked out of almost every class every week.”
“Well Richie, maybe if you paid attention in class and didn’t draw dicks on the board you could’ve done a whole lot better.” said Eddie
“Y-Y-Yeah R-R-Richie, that’s n-n-not g-good. Get B-B-B-Ben to h-h-help you in h-h-high school w-w-with the h-history.” Billy advised
“Do you know if you’re coming to Derry High with us?” Stan looked over at Mike (Hanlon)
“I don’t know, I’m hoping next year for grade 11, I still haven’t asked my grandfather.”
Eddie’s mind wanders off, his mind zoning out of the conversations between them, glancing off and watching others at the fair.
He looks over at the trees, and watches as the leaves gust in the summer breeze
Eddie notices something that stands out; a shadow in the woods standing still, and not moving. Almost as if he/she was watching people.
But for some reason Eddie felt as if It was watching them. But, he tried to ignore whoever was in there. However, that feeling was just too intense to ignore for long.
“Eddie…”
Now he thought his mind was playing tricks on him, and shook his head, but couldn’t help but glance over.
This time Eddie had seen something over the man’s head, while It or whoever It was waved at him. No one else at the fair seemed to notice, even though he was now in plain sight.
Eddie had jumped and let out a yelp, making Stan and Bill jump.
“Uh…guys…” Eddie stammered
“W-W-What’s w-w-wrong E-Eddie?” Bill asked, concerned
The rest of the group had looked over at him
“Look over there! In the woods, can’t you see -”
His jaw had dropped when he saw the man, or whoever It was was no longer there
They had all had given Eddie a confused look, looking in the same direction, also not seeing anything
“What the fuck are you talking about, Eds?” Richie came over
“Nevermind, nothing. And don’t call me Eds.”
“Seriously Eddie Spaghetti, are you okay?” Richie patted Eddie on the back
“You look like you had seen a ghost.” said Stan
“Probably did.” Ella chuckled, Beverly laughing quietly at what she said
“Shut up, El.” Eddie said, annoyed
“Y-Y-You k-know, we’re all a b-bit n-n-nervous, but I g-g-guess that’s why w-we’re the l-l-losers.” said Bill
The gang hand nodded in agreement
“Speaking of which, this reminds me of two years ago, when our group of me, Bill, Richie, and Stan gotten bigger. We had all gotten together and even told each other what we were afraid of. I guess now that we’re all back together, and my sister joining us, we should tell each other that stuff again.” said Eddie
Bill nodded, and agreed to speak first
“I h-have the f-f-fear of d-d-dead G-Georgie.” he looked down, “M-M-Mike, r-remember that n-n-night you s-stayed over I h-h-heard G-Georgie even though he w-was….fast asleep.”
“Yeah, that was weird. I didn’t hear anything though. I’m still afraid of fire. And I still get scary memories from that fire me and my parents were in.” Mike sighed
“That painting in my father’s office…” said Stan, “I asked him to take it down, it was just too much. Don’t want to talk about that fucked up painting. But I guess I also have this fear of drowning.”
“Diseases, but you all knew that.” Eddie scratched his head
“Luckily I’m living a much better life, I don’t have to come home in fear of seeing my father,” said Beverly, “But blood…I just can’t stand it. Or the sight of it.”
“Clowns. Clowns are scary.” Ella muttered, “And spiders. Can’t stand either one.”
“Oh my god, I hate clowns too!” said Richie, “And werewolves. They’re scary.”
“I know this sounds silly, but mummies are terrifying. Sometimes I see my dead father. I saw something in October, I didn’t tell you guys, because I thought you were going to think I was crazy,” Ben huffed, “But I saw this guy, this thing. It called my name and waved when I was in the library. Then it was gone. It had something over It’s head and was wearing a suit.”
To Ben’s surprise, no one laughed about it, not even Richie. Their expressions were a lot different.
Eddie was now getting another asthma attack, while Richie and Stan comforted him for a few seconds
“That’s what I just saw.” Eddie said after catching his breath, “Just then.”
That’s when the rest of the boys in the group exchanged weird expressions, they each had seen something weird in the past ten months or so.
Well, all six of them had exchanged looks. The only ones who hadn’t were Beverly and Ella.
“Yeah, we didn’t see anything. Not yet at least.” said Beverly
“Shit. You guys are girls. You’re the only ones who hadn’t seen anything.” Stan gulped
“Fucking hell, the one time I wish I was a god be damned girl!” Richie groaned, breaking the scared vibe
~
It was now mid July, and Johnathan had invited Nancy to come over to his house that night, since Joyce and Will would be gone for a few days into town, spending time together.
Johnathan and Will got along well with their mom, and the three of them were extremely close, though Johnathan was starting to want to do some stuff on his own, since he was the oldest.
He had sat down and thought about his brother Will. Johnathan didn’t want anything bad to happen to him, and though Will’s seizures haven’t been that had recently, it still makes Johnathan and Joyce worried about him.
A knock could be heard at the door, interrupting his thoughts
They had greeted each other, and hugged
Nancy sat down on the couch, huffing; the ‘I’m so glad to be here’ type of huffing.
“You good, Nance?” Johnathan had asked
“Yeah, I’m so glad we’re spending a few nights with each other, and I don’t have annoying ass twin brothers annoying the hell out of me. We are both brother free this weekend.” Nancy smirked
“Yeah…” Johnathan said while looking down
“You alright Johnathan?”
“Yeah. I’m just…worried about Will.” he sighed, “I know I shouldn’t be, but I am.”
“How is Will anyways?” Nancy asked, “He seems to say the least out of Mike’s friends, besides Eleven.”
“He’s good, he’s had seizures, but nothing serious in a long while.”
“That’s good, yeah I wouldn’t worry about it too much.” Nancy convinced
They had grabbed some food from the kitchen, and even ordered a pizza for the night.
By the time the clock had hit 8:30 pm, they were already cuddled under a blanket on the couch, while watching Footloose. Johnathan wasn’t into those types of movies, but knew Nancy was.
During the ending credits, the pair of them performed a steamy makeout session on the couch, laying under the blanket with their clothes slowly falling off.
“Do you know what time it is?” Nancy giggled
He looked up at her
“12 am?” he smirked
“Mhmm.”
“I’m always glad when it’s the two of us.” said Johnathan
“Oh yeah, do you know what Steve and Emma are doing tonight?” Nancy asked
“Definetley not together like we are, that part I know.” Johnathan chuckled, while sitting up
“I haven’t even told Ems this, but I think Steve is after her.” said Nancy
“Well yeah, it’s quite obvious.”
“She does not appear to feel the same way,” said Nancy, “Well, not yet at least.”
“Seriously what is it with Steve?” Johnathan snickered
“You’re a guy yourself, you should know what goes on in that brain of his.”
“Well Emma either doesn’t feel the same way or can’t tell, and the way Steve looks and tone around her makes it quite obvious.” Johnathan responded
“Does he not relaize that she is Eleven’s sister? Aka 007?” said Nancy
“I think that’s what he’s going for.” said Johnathan, “If you know what I mean, the quiet and mysterious type.”

It was a foggy afternoon in Hawkins, on July 26th
Mike, Dustin, Lucas, and Will had gotten together in the Wheeler-Tozier basement to play a few games, including one of Dungeons and Dragons.
They planned to go outside after dinner
“You know, I kinda like that it’s just us guys hanging out.” said Dustin
As they were in the middle of Snakes and Ladders, Richie had somehow snuck downstairs and scared the four of them with one of his creepy masks, and sneaking up yelling “BOO”
“Are you fucking serious right now?” Mike said, annoyed, “You are such an idiot, go back upstairs! You’re not in our group.”
“Why don’t you make me?” Richie smirked
Mike rolled his eyes, and was about to get up and push him back upstairs, but then Will did something unusual
“Go. The fuck. Away from us.” Will demanded
They had all looked at Will, whose expression was angry, and he doesn’t normally respond like that
Richie pushed back up his glasses
“Yeah, sure. Fine I guess.” he said as he made his way back upstairs
However, Will’s expression was still emotionless
“Will, you okay?” asked Mike, “Don’t mind Richie, he’s an idiot.”
Will nodded, slowly, still with the same expression on his face.
“Honestly Will, is everything okay? You never act that way.”
“I’m fine.” Will smirked in a creepy way, “Can we go outside after this game? I feel really hot.”
While Mike still had his hand on Will’s, Dustin and Lucas had given each other concerned looks
They both turned back around to look at Will and Mike, and brushed it off
“Oh yeah, that reminds me, when are we meeting up with the rest of the losers?” Dustin said, changing the subject
“Uh, I don’t know,” said Mike, “We’ve all met up two or three times this month, but maybe soon. Eddie comes up here frequently, and so do Bill and Stan sometimes. I get to see them a bit more because I have an annoying as hell twin.”
“Sometimes me and Max hang out with Ben, Bev, Ella, and Stan. When we get the chance.” said Lucas, “All six of us went bird-watching in the forest behind Stan’s house last week, it was really fun. More fun than I thought, actually. Doesn’t always have to be 14 of us, because each of us will want to do different things sometimes.”
“Yeah, that’s true.” Mike agreed
“You telling Rich to not hang out with us doesn’t stop me from seeing him and Eds every week or two.” said Dustin, “Just saying.”
Mike gives Dustin that ‘Really Dustin?’ look, but doesn’t care either, since the strange kids and losers were all basically a family.
The four of them had decided to take a ride on their bikes through the forest, wandering anywhere.
Will was on the back on Mike’s bicycle, while Dustin and Lucas were riding right next to each other, following Mike
They found an opening in the woods, where they began to built a fort out of loose branches and sticks.
They had done this for about 35 minutes, the occasional giggle coming out of Will, but they didn’t think much of it.
After finally settling in their fort, they talked about everything and anything.
“I bet it’s weird that a bunch of us 14 and 15 year olds are out here in the woods doing this, but what the hell, it’s fun.” says Mike
“Your birthday was last month.” said Lucas
“Yeah, in the middle of studying for exams.” Mike rolls his eyes
“Well I have an early one, 3rd of January,” says Lucas, “So I’m technically the oldest in the group. As Dustin is the youngest.”
“So what mine’s in October, big whoop. Will looks younger than us, but really he’s second oldest.” Dustin looked over at Will, who wasn’t looking at the group
“I can’t believe we have over a month before we start high school,” says Mike, “Better make the best of it, some of us will probably be working next summer. Our mom wants me and Richie to find something next summer, in order for us to ‘build character’, so I guess -“
“G-Guys?” Will stammers, looking off into the woods
“Yeah, what’s wrong, Will? Everything okay?” Mike asks
Will did not respond, but pointed in the woods.
“What is he pointing at?” Lucas wondered
“Clown.” Will chuckled, “Over there.”
Mike, Lucas, and Dustin were now slightly worried, although none of them felt like they were being watched, until now.
“I’m sure it was just your imagination,” Mike said nervously, while patting Will on the back
Will shook his head
Mike remembered the clown he saw in the backyard on April Fool’s Day, when Richie had seen something else. He was hoping It wasn’t the same thing. As a matter of fact, remembered that Richie and the rest of Bill’s group had defeated the so called “clown” that was murdering people in the Derry area who summers ago. Two summers ago. Almost two years since Mike and the rest of his friends and defeated the Mind Flayer. 1984 was a weird year, first Richie and his group got rid of clown, then Mike and his group had defeated the mind flayer. Mike couldn’t believe it was almost two years ago already.
Now Will was acting strange, and giggling creepily rather than fearing. Well, he was for a few seconds, but acted like a completely different person, almost as if he was under possession.
Then, he had come out of it, and the rest of them didn’t know what to do next.
“W-What happened?” said Will
“I don’t know,” said Mike, “But we should probably head back, it’s getting late anyways. I’ll bring you back home?”
“Sure.”
Dustin and Lucas didn’t even question or complain, they were getting chills up their spines and wanted to head home too.
