OC Pokemon teams tag: AOM
I'm taking an open tag from @kk7-rbs for this one! I chose these for the main AOM players based on vibes and also story potential.
Also an open tag!
Sid
He doesn't really favor any type, and that shows in his team. He evolved the Sirfetch'd from a Farfetch'd that fought him for an onion, the Goodra from a Goomy he found in the garden (his parents did NOT want him to take it inside), and the Alcremie from a Milcery he caught with the smell of his baking (it's probably a different variant than the one shown but he let it pick out its candy). The Mimikyu showed up when he was cleaning out the attic, and he feels like they have a lot in common actually. Donovan gave him a Galarian Yamask and fully believed it could never be evolved, but Sid figured out how to evolve it anyway. Emma gave him the Froslass when she got a shiny Froslass, and he had to retrain it to be less slappy and bitey.
Donovan
He loves ground and rock types more than anything but those alone are kind of a weak team, so he's diversified. He's a big fan of Pokemon that are Shaped, hence the Shelgon and Gastrodon. Unfortunately he has never met someone who was fooled by the Sudowoodo. The Mudsdale is his hard hitter, the Trevenant is his favorite, and the Sableye he picked up from a cave because it reminded him of Sid (then a small child). Through no fault of its own it got most of Donovan's care and affection (RIP Sid) and is kind of a spoiled brat.
Emma
Her team organizing principle is cuntiness. She picked Sobble as a starter years ago so she could end up with Inteleon. Pheromosa, Tsareena, and Froslass were all pretty easy choices too. She thinks the Machamp is cute and it has a great attitude (smash all opponents). It actually has not given her the most injuries - the Rapidash has, between its pointy horn and its tendency to get into her head with its psychic abilities. She doesn't super discourage this kind of behavior because any Pokemon that can knock her down can doubly do it to her challengers.
Avis
She favors ghost types (she used to have a Trevenant in her main team but she switched it out when she found out Donovan had one). She loves Rillaboom the most, though, because she's had it the longest - she raised it from a Grookey. Her default strategy is to use its size (it's 6' 11") to intimidate most challengers (including Sorian), and then switch to Dhelmise when it gets a little low on health. Anyone who knows their types will assume she has a grass-based team, at which point she can pull out Kommo-o or Grappleoct to surprise them. Gengar and Dragapult also unnerve people, which is fine by her. She hates it when people point it out but she's very kind to her Pokemon and is far more worried about how good of a trainer she is to them than how powerful they are as fighters (pretty powerful).
Sorian
He loves fairy and psychic types and they love him. Obviously the Ninjask is an exception, but he keeps it in his team just in case and because Horatio gave it to him (he still doesn't understand why Horatio thinks it's like him, but okay. It's cute). He often lets the Comfey stay out of its Pokeball and wears it as a flower crown, which Avis finds infuriating (how dare he have a cute Pokemon like that. fucking asshole). People think Avis will be irrationally pissed off by the Hatterene, since it looks kind of like a human woman, but it just looks like that - why would she be mad? Sorian's favorite Pokemon is actually the Togekiss, which likes to snuggle with him when he's alone but retreats as soon as Avis shows up. His most powerful Pokemon in battle are definitely the Claydol and Musharna.
Horatio
Horatio didn't start out trying to bridge as many types as possible, nor to have only dual-type Pokemon, but once he realized it was happening anyway he leaned into it. He started with the Galvantula, which used to ride in his pocket when it was a Joltik, and ended up with Vileplume when his Oddish would not stop accompanying him out of his florist shop. Edith gave him the Swinub he evolved into Piloswine, and Sorian gave him the Deino he evolved into Hydregion because it looked like him (it did). The Aegislash came from a Honedge that tried and failed to blend in with his gardening tools, and the Gallade - which he suspects used to belong to someone else - he found wandering in the woods when he was studying river plants. It has very little self control around people who are rude to him, and it sometimes gets switched out of his team temporarily when it's being moody.

The Adamant Time event has been announced and detailed! (And here I thought it would be Pokemon Diamond/Hisui-focused. Silly me.)
Runs from Dec11 at 10am to Dec15 at 8pm, local time
3x XP bonus for catching Pokemon
Wild spawns include: the Kanto starters, Vulpix, Oddish, Ponyta, Koffing, Krabby, Voltorb, Rhyhorn, and Goldeen. Dratini are rare spawns.
Voltorb, Vulpix, Ponyta, and Krabby encountered have an increased chance of being shiny
The number of guaranteed Lucky Pokémon a Trainer can receive in a trade has been increased from 15 to 25! And starting Dec11 at 10am, local time, if you trade a Pokémon that has been in a storage since 2018, it is guaranteed to become a Lucky Pokémon until the limit is reached! This change is permanent.
Ditto is featured and can appear as Rhyhorn, Goldeen, Oddish, and Koffing.
1⭐ Raids are Kabuto, Staryu, and Omanyte, and 3⭐ Raids are Chansey, Scyther, and Snorlax
Catch up with Timed Research
Seasonal Timed Research focused on catching up on XP and leveling up will be available starting with this event until the end of 2023. Complete the research tasks by reaching Lv10, Lv20, Lv30, and Lv40 to earn items and Stardust at each milestone! (Trainers can automatically claim rewards for a milestone they have already passed at the start of the event. The tasks for this Timed Research must be completed and their rewards must be claimed before Dec31 at 11:59pm, local time.)
More Timed Research focused on adding friends will be available thru-out the event! Complete the research tasks to earn XP, Stardust, and Ultra Balls.

Gonna start putting the progress here
06/27/2023 I started with several oddish but after the 30th ran away I gave up on oddish and moved to rattata and
06/28/2023 similar happened where after like 50 rats I lost my streak, but having found a shiny rattata so quickly I was absolutely energized for this challenge, and even played on a day off. So I switched over to pidgey, and after 109 of them (some from the day before)
That same day
06/29/2023 at this point I had already evolved the first pidgey all the way to a pidgeot and the second to a pidgeotto, and the first rattata to a raticate.
07/03/2023 after several days of not playing the game I got back into it and finally got that last rat the same day I came back to it
And again on the same day. I finally got the buddy who I initially started for
07/06/2023 fourth of July was a holiday at work so I didn't play. July 5th was a Wednesday so I didn't work so I didn't play. This is mostly just time filler between calls at work. Mindless enough to not need total focus but fun enough to keep me busy with a task. And I got this guy so quickly it was like fate
07/08/2023 their sibling was not fate this mf seemed like it hated me but I was not about to give up.
07/12/2023 which brings us to today. It may be Wednesday, a day I have off work, but after forever of searching I did not want to give up. I really wanted this one and it felt like it knew that and was purposely hiding from me. The odds of a shiny appearing after the 31st pokemon in a streak is 1 in 341.3. It doesn't mean if you see 341 of them that you'll get a guarantee, but it does mean if you don't then you're just Not Very Lucky. So if I told you my glooms (I evolved the first two oddish and there's no way to get a leaf stone yet) are both level 50+, I think you might be able to see why

is the au set in a specific region? if so, which one?
what do you think about gyms? maybe the crew could grow up into the role?? or the gym leaders be the tng crew?

they travel a bit so no specific region but i did have an idea of where they came from (hopefully i remember it right)
Spock is ORIGINALLY from Johto where he met I'chaya as a teddiursa when he was really young and angrily practicing his lyre in the woods cuz sarek basically told him it was too loud to play that badly in the house💀 then he moved to unova without catching I'chaya (cuz he was too young) and got snivy as a starter (they travel to Johto at some point and they're reunited)
Jim is from unova and he met Spock when they were getting starter pokemon (i know spock is older so they wouldn't get them at the same time shut up shh) Jim picked tepig and they had a battle that spock surprisingly won despite the type disadvantage (it was at this moment jim realized he's kinda ass at battling and wants to get better)
Bones is from Paldea and he picked quaxly as a starter (even though he already caught/was adopted by a chansey that found him when he got hurt when he was really little) and he met jim and spock after assembling a fair bit of his team (he already had an egg (togepi) he's such a good egg dad)
Scotty is from sinnoh and he picked piplup as a starter cuz he thought it was cute (later on he heard it became steel type and looked into steel types and became obsessed)
Uhura is from the alola region and she picked popplio as her starter because she got to the starter picking place and there was this weird lookin dog thing trying to serenade her (howl and scream) and she loved it (she will try to teach her to sing better dw) she wanted to travel a lot and she went to sinnoh first where she met her bestie scotty and they started traveling together
Sulu is from kanto and he picked bulbasaur (it's a fat little plant frog are you kidding of course he'd pick bulbasaur) and met scotty and uhura when they traveled there and he joined their group (they stayed there for a bit so he could catch his oddish uhura caught her vulpix and scotty got his elekid and magnemite)
i do think some of them could grow into gym leaders (not sure who maybe jim if he doesn't succeed in becoming champion (gym leader jim))and since im starting to get into tng i might ignore how time works and just have tng characters in the au as well
Khan had a legends arceus type of moment after he caught a cyndaquil in the wild in hisui (he was dared to cuz everyone was afraid of pokemon back then) and got sent forward in time to sinnoh instead where he didn't MEET scotty but he did stare longingly for a while before scotty ran off with uhura
Stonn started in unova and got lucky when he picked his starter a year before jim and spock so he has a shiny snivy (he will 100% rub it in every time he encounters spock) and then moved to galar to start his journey (he will regret this action later) because he heard about this really cool pokemon called toxtricity that has 2 forms that are both badass (surely there's not a catch) and hunted down 2 toxels so he could train em up (SURELY THERE'S NOT A CATCH) he hasn't slept since
T'Pring is from kalos and she picked fennekin as her starter (she stays in kalos most of the time) and she will grow up to be a gym leader I just decided (ignore the different types on her team)

this is NOT going to be a good review since i am very tired and hungry and upset that my tv wont work so i have to watch youtube on my laptop again BUT .THAT NEW CHAPTER WAS SO GOOD... so mumbo doesn't know scar is part vex (??? assuming thats how he uses vex magic) for obvious reasons (<- experimentation will probably happen) and mumbo has experimented on and/or killed vex before n actively has a head of one on the wall n scar. still chooses to be there??????? wada hell...... im very excited to see grian n scar get a chance to talk alone next tho cuz w mumbo coming right back there wasn't much time for scar to react to grian not only knowing vex but also immediately being able to tell that he's using vex magic vs any other kind .ok time to go eat BTW whats ur favorite pokemon .and would i be allowed to name one after u in one of my games (<- currently playing emerald soulsilver shining pearl and x and also probs gna start pmd explorers of sky very soon) totally fine if the answer is no ofc i do still wana know ur fav pokemon tho 🫡

mumbo indeed does not know scar is part vex! mages and other types of fully-human magic-users are relatively common, and visually there is nothing visibly detectable on scar to hint to vex origins.
grian can tell because he was raised by vex, and hybrid enhanced senses mean that he can smell different magics, so he knows good and well what scar is.
it's slightly confusing to grian, because right now scar smells like home, but is very much the enemy.
scar stays because he has no one else to go home to. he was found a seemingly normal human baby that had the hybrid beaten out of him, to the point of masking his vex traits, fully unintentionally.
he's not quite monster enough for the vex to accept him, nor quite human enough for most other people. mumbo, an adorer of the odd and peculiar, took him in during scar's teen years and was basically his mentor/parent. they're both confused on how scar's magic works, and mumbo has chalked it up to some curse or whatever.
mumbo doesn't care too much so long as scar still cooperates.
scar is just happy to have someone who cares to keep him around.
also WOAUGH yeah u can name a pokemon after me i would be honored king
uhhhhh a list of favs but they are all from gen 1 or 2 because those are the only generations i know anything about:

None are particularly deep, but all are at least 60cm wide, three of them are around 1.5m long, and each weighs somewhere between 25-40kg. One of the two smaller boxes has "Open first" written on the top. Inside are two letters and a small tin, sitting on top of brown paper that conceals the rest of the contents.]
Letter 1, written in a plain, but very neat hand:
"Bryony, I hope this finds you well. I apologize for the multitude of packages, but trying to fit all of the parts into one box would have made it far too heavy. Everything is cut to pidovetail together, so a rubber mallet should be all that you need, though some wood glue wouldn't hurt matters, should you have it on hand.
"I know that you said I owed you nothing, but that does not change the fact that I simply wanted to make you something, and had the inspiration for a planter box. In gratitude, Alexander Cypress.
"P.S.: Sage wanted to send you something too, so some of his needles are in the tin. He most certainly can read, and we've begun making headway on the writing. I hope it's legible; he was very insistent that I not read it."
Letter 2, in much shakier handwriting:
"Thank you for the tea//It is very hard to be//Only good smell here
[This letter is signed with what is presumably a Leafeon's pawprint. The extra fur blurs it a bit.]
[Inside each box is a slab or post of dense hardwood, finished with a light stain. One slab is unadorned, and another has drainage holes, respectively labeled as "Back" and "Bottom". The remaining slabs all have bas-relief carvings. One side piece has a Budew, twirling around, only to end up as a Roselia upon completing his turn, and the other a Galarian Ponyta, standing with a relaxed, confident posture. The front has flowers running along the border, arcing down to form a wreath around the center. In it stand a young woman and a Sunflora, both beaming. The corner posts are bare for most of their height, but the top of each is carved into a subtly different Oddish.]
[A series of photos of the planter box fully constructed—Bryony has taken pictures from a few angles to make sure everyone can see all the details. It's set up in her plant nursery, against a wall made of floor-to-ceiling windows, but it's too dark to see much of the yard outside; this clearly turned into an evening project. In one photo taken earlier in the day in the process of unpacking, a Sunflora standing in front of stacks of boxes and hardwood looks at the camera and eagerly points at her matching carving with one leaf.]
oh my goodness look at this!!!!! i got my nice camera out for the first time in a while so everyone could see all the little details, i feel like every time i look i notice something new!! amy and i spent a bunch of today dealing with the inkay situation but as soon as we had a moment i finally opened everything up and then roped them into helping me build it hehe, but i think i maybe could have done it on my own if i had to even though i am notoriously not very good at building furniture… not that it was not nice to have the help but everything really did just fit right together!!!
i put a couple of herb pots in it for now because i cannot bear to see it empty and unused, especially since i have it set up so it is the first thing i get to see when i go into the nursery, but i am going to wait until next month to actually start planting anything in it so i can fill it with sunflowers 🌻 my favorite flowers should go in my favorite planter!!!
oh my goodness i don't even know what to say, just thank you does not feel like enough. i think this is one of the kindest most thoughtful things anyone has ever done for me. it's beautiful, alexander, i don't even know how to tell you how much i love it. thank you so so much.
oh my gosh and send sage my thanks too!!! i guess it should be expected that he is so thoughtful too hehe but i am very grateful for the gift and the letter!!! i could read it just fine and i am so so proud of all his hard work and progress, and i will not say anything else out of respect for him and his secrets hehe. i cannot wait to read more of his work!!!

not including the ones i mentioned in that last ask!
doing horde encounters for a dtq shiny in omega ruby, running into a shiny oddish WAY under odds, ACCIDENTALLY KILLING SAID ODDISH, running into A SHINY ZIGZAGOON AROUND 100 ENCOUNTERS LATER, CATCHING IT AND THEN RUNNING INTO A SECOND SHINY ODDISH LIKE 200 ENCOUNTERS AFTER THAT. (i actaully caught that one dw) all these shinies took place UNDER ODDS TOO
......and then immediately being forced to go 3x over odds for a shiny aron after that
doing a shiny map quest race against my friends and randomly running into a shiny alpha petilil as one of my shinies
gogurt :)
hatching wooper eggs in swsh and distinctly thinking to myself as an egg was hatching “i will place my finger over the screencap button in the off chance this wooper is shiny”
the wooper was shiny
i had just bred a shiny druddigon for my green team, and i was watching the clip i recorded on my phone as i hatched leftover eggs. as soon as the shiny hatched in the clip, another shiny randomly hatched on my switch
standing in line at ikea at the start of the pandemic and doing sos chaining in usum while in direct sunlight. accidentally killing a shiny shellder because of this
going nearly 4x over odds masuda method breeding for a SECOND SHINY YAMPER who came home after 1479 eggs and on valentines day (i named him Cupid!)

Since Sylveon from Courtney (Prodject SNT) has trolled every pokemon, I decided to make my own roasts, starting with Kanto.
Bulbasaur: How does it feel to be the best Kanto starter strategically and yet also the least popular?
Ivysaur: If it wasn't for smash, most people would've forgotten that you exist.
Venusaur: Why do you have such an ugly backside?
Charmander: For the most popular starter, you'd think you would have a more consistent sprite.
Charmeleon: Pikachu being a mouse I get, but how are you a chameleon!?
Charizard: Their category should be changed to "The cash cow pokemon".
Squirtle: Remember when people thought you were part squirrel because of your name and tail?
Wartortle: Who are you again?
Blastoise: How do you grab anything with those stubby arms?
Caterpie: Hello, Wormy from Spongebob.
Metapod: 💤💤💤.
Butterfree: I prefer mine with butter, thank you very much.
Weedle: Well if it isn't the only pokemon who can't learn any normal type moves.
Kakuna: It's slightly more interesting than Metapod, but only slightly.
Beedrill: You look more like a hornet than a bee, so go away!
Pidgey: Baby's first birdie.
Pidgeotto: They clearly dye their head feathers to get that flawless red color.
Pidgeot: Why does the middle evolution have the longer name!?
Rattata: Youngster Joey is the only one who actually likes you.
Raticate: You do look a hairy potato with teeth.
Spearow: How does it feel to have the anime label you all as aggressive assholes?
Spearow: You have to be the worst shiny I ever catched!
Ekans: If it wasn't for team rocket, you'd only be known for your ridiculous name.
Arbok: Seviper is apparently their evolution, no wait, the anime is just full of lies.
Pickachu: They're basically Mickey mouse if he had electric powers.
Raichu: The anime just had to make every raichu an asshole to give Ash's pikachu an excuse to not want to evolve.
Sandshrew: You look more like an armadillo than a shrew.
Sandslash: Your Alolan form is a lot more interesting.(it's my opinion, don't attack me)
The entire nidoran line (both male and female): The fact that nidoran♀ is the only one who can breed with the entire nidoran♂ feels like an unintentional p*dofelic breeding fetish.
Clefairy: I personally think making pikachu the mascot instead was a good call.
Clefable: Remember, the clefairy line walked so elgyem and beheeyem could run.
Vulpix: I've got nothing, vulpix is the best Kanto pokemon.(again, it's my opinion, don't attack me)
Ninetales: Congratulations for having one of the least creative pokemon names.
Jigglypuff: How does it feel to only be known for being a brat in the anime?
Wigglytuff: It's gen one sprite was really something else, and not in a good way.
Zubat: The vermin of caves.
Golbat: How do you fly with that big mouth?
Oddish: "Insert 4/20 joke here"
Gloom: Its name speaks for itself.
Vileplume: I bet it smells as vile as its name suggests.
Paras: Can someone please remove those parasitic mushrooms from its back!?
Parasect: Too late, they've already taken over...
Venonat: The anime also lies about it not being a bug type.
Venomoth: You're only remembered because a dumb theory.
Diglett: Someone pointed out that their nose looks like a mouth with one tooth and now I can't unsee it.
Dugtrio: This evolution is almost as lazy as electrode.(I'm gonna get a lot of death threats with how much I'm bashing gen one)
Meowth: You're the Tom to Pikachu's Jerry.
Persian: Try not to get a big head, okay?
Psyduck: Do you need some ibuprofen?
Golduck: It's the "why isn't this a psychic type" pokemon.
Mankey: The manly monkey.
Primape: How does it learn iron tail without having a tail?(especially if the primape's female?)
Growlithe: Baby's first doggo.
Arcane: The rejected legendary.
Poliwag: Just a round boi.
Polywhirl: Congratulations, you can finally hold things.
Polywrath: Why are you so pissed, man?
Abra: The teleporting troll.
Kadabra: the fact that they used to be a human has very disturbing implications.
Alakazam: The perfect pokemon to eat icecream with.
Machop: Why does it have chest gills?
Machoke: It pisses me off that pokemon like delphox and meowscarada get demonized for being "too humanoid" when this fucker exist!
Machamp: Why does it look like it's wearing briefs?
Bellsprout: Its head sure does look like a bell.
Weepinbell: One of many gen one poison/grass types.
Victreebel: Remember, Victreebel walked so guzzlord could run.
Tentacool: Funny, you're actually not cool at all.
Tentacruel: That name makes more sense.
Geodude: I was gonna say "baby's first rock monster" but that joke has already been used twice.
Graveler: Why did you grow an extra set of arms, only to ditch them once you evolve!?
Golem: Why do you have a lizard face all of a sudden?
Ponyta: Imagine your kid wanting a horse for either their birthday or Christmas and the only option is one that would burn the house down.
Rapidash: You want me to ride on its back!? Yeah, I'll just take the bus.
Slowpoke: No thoughts, head empty.
Slowbro: I can't get over the fact that it's constantly being bitten.
Magnemite: This should've been a gen two pokemon so it could've been a steel type from the beginning.
Magnaton: It's Dugtrio all over again!
Farfetche'd: Was the apostrophe really necessary?
Doduo: "Cause you know two heads are better than one"
Dodrio: They're just a bird version of Cerberus.
Seel and Dewgong: And the award for the least creative pokemon names goes to...these losers!
Grimer: I heard this thing eats sewage.🤢
Muk: It has an unfortunate backwards name.
Shellder: Why is its tounge all ways out?
Cloyster: They knew what they were doing when they paired it with an onix.
Gastly: Our first ghost type was a ball of gas, really?

Gengar: You look more like a scrapped grimace design than an actual ghost.(definitely getting death threats for that)
Onix: Pikachu winning against Brock's onix using water sprinklers was a total ass pull!
Drowzee: Mikey's favorite pokemon.
Hyno: They got a lemon for a nose.
Krabby: Mmmmm, crab legs.....
Kingler: If only that kingler curry wasn't exclusive to Japan.
Voltorb: The bomb pokemon.
Electrode: The laziest design.(tied with pawmo)
Exeggcute: Nothing cute about this pokemon.
Exeggutor: I know they're seeds, but how do egg looking seeds evolve into a palm tree!?
Cubone and Marowak: Why would you make a pokemon who's whole gimmick is having a dead mother, you monster!?
Hitmonlee: I have no mouth and I must scream!
Hitmonchan: It does look like it's wearing a dress.(and an ugly dress at that)
Lickitung: In Japan, this is the innuendo pokemon and not bellsprout.

Articuno: One rock slide, and you're dead.
Zapdos: Those wings look like poorly cut paper.
Moltres: Who set their rubber chicken on fire!?
Dratini: You sure are teenie alright!
Dagonair: I just remembered that there's a type of lo mein called dragon noodles, while it was probably unintentional, I still thought that was a clever pun.
Dragonite: How can I roast something that's so friend shaped?
Mew and Mewtwo: Why does Mewtwo come before Mew in the pokedex even though Mew came first?
I'm actually gonna do Paldea next , so I can get to the good roasts before Sylveon.

About My Pokémon Trainer OCs

Albion
About: Albion is a young trainer from Galar, and he is a rather unique sort of kid. For one thing, he’s unfortunately wheelchair-bound, as he was sadly born without the use of his legs. He doesn’t let that stop him though. For another thing, he is definitely one to stand out in a crowd and not because of the wheelchair, but because he’s albino. It’s why his mother named him Albion, which means ‘white land’ and when rearranged just a little, it does also spell ‘albino’.
Albion’s main Pokémon, aside from his Grookey that he calls Kongzilla, is a shiny Dubwool named Devon. He actually often has Devon out of his ball and walking alongside him, just in case he runs into trouble with his chair, such as a wheel getting stuck in the mud and jammed between stones. As well, he is working on training Kongzilla to eventually help push his chair too, so he can take a break wheeling himself along sometimes. Especially since the Gym Challenge is a big workout for him with all the traveling.
Main Pokémon Team: Kongzilla (male Grookey), Devon (male shiny Dubwool), Rook (male Corvisquire), Belladonna (female Oddish), Axel (male Axew), Guinevere (female Pawniard)

Ryuu
About: The younger cousin of Raihan, and originally from Kanto though now living in Galar, Ryuu has had a rivalry with Hop for quite some time now, and it can get just as intense as his cousin’s rivalry with Hop’s brother Leon. He’s a strong-willed and stubborn kid, and kind of a loudmouth. He very much looks up to Raihan, and wants to be a Dragon-type Gym Leader someday too. He also often loves to show off for his cousin, and has once pointed out to him, ‘Hey, Rai! My name means ‘dragon’, just like your favorite kind of Pokémon!’
He was given a Sobble (now a Drizzile) by Leon, that he named ‘Agent J’, and he is the lead Pokémon in Ryuu’s current team. Ryuu struggled and had to try several times before he beat Milo’s gym, but when he finally did, he immediately called Raihan to tell him. He also really appreciates Milo, and how patient and supportive he was even though all of his struggles and various attempts to win the match. So he also somewhat looks up to Milo now too, almost as much as he looks up to Raihan.
Main Pokémon Team: Agent J (male Drizzile), Rex (male Axew), Dahlia (female Sliggoo), Noix (male Noibat), Isabelle (female Dreepy), Big Mac (male Applin)

Lucifer
About: Lucifer is a.. rather strange sort of kid, and he has more than just a little bit of a reputation around the academy in Mesagoza. He’s very smart, and has a penchant for mischief, as well as a firm love for Ice- and Ghost-type Pokémon. He started first with Fuecoco (now a fully-evolved Skeledirge), naming the little croc Chomper, and now his team has expanded to mostly ghosts and other chilly Pokémon.
One thing that stands out the most about Lucifer though, aside from his mischievous nature and a reputation as ‘demon king of the academy’, is the fact that his eyes seem to change color with his mood, but they’re not always the colors you’d expect to be associated with certain feelings. He’s nice to those who are on his good side, though, so even with a fearsome reputation, he’s not such a bad guy.
Main Pokémon Team: Chomper (male Skeledirge), Casper (male Greavard), Salem (male shiny Gengar), Sugar (female Mimikyu), Glacier (female Beartic), Jack Frost (male Glaceon)

Koa
About: Recently moved to Paldea from Alola, Koa is generally a very relaxed kind of kid. He’s got that good old Alola attitude, but underneath that he is also that kid that will look you dead in the eye with the most serious expression and tell you one thing; “_____, I crave violence.” So all in all, he’s a bit chaotic.

Oranguru and shiny Cherubi debut
For every trainer that walks 5km on the Apr23 community day, Niantic will plant a tree (up to 100,000 trees total) It doesn't need to be during Community Day hours, just on that day.
Collection challenge rewarding a Mossy Kure and 15 Great Balls. Gloom and Weepinbel will only appear from using a Grassy Lure.
Wild encounters are Oddish, Grimer, Turtwug, Grotle, Cherubi, Trubbish, Ferroseed, and Oranguru with Venusaur and Phantump being rare spawns.
From eggs, Alolan Diglett, Larvitar, Cherubi, and Oranguru.
A free Mossy Lure bundle in the shop.
Mossy Lures will attract: Gloom, Weepinbell, Chikorita, Grotle, Cherubi, Sewaddle, and rarely Alolan Diglett, Belossom, and Nincada.
Field task encounters are Turtwig, Snivy, Chespin, Phantump, Cherubi, and Trubbish. Doing field tasks may also reward Mega Evolution energy for Venusaur and Abomasnow.
There will also be 2x EXP earned from your first daily spin of a Pokestop.

My first random shiny was a shiny Oddish. I found it on Route 24 in Let's Go Pikachu, five hours after I started the game for the first time. One day later I found a shiny Pidgey on the same route! I was so so happy! :D This is my favorite route now. The shiny Pidgey was a permanent member of the team from then on and I love it dearly <3 And the shiny Oddish still makes me happy when I see it^^

HI I STARTED PLAYING POKEMON LET'S GO PIKACHU AGAIN AND I STARTED A CATCH COMBO OF ODDISH BC I WANTED A SHINY ODDISH AND I CAUGHT 11 BEFORE I FOUND A SHINY LOL??? ALSO IT'S A GOOD NATURE SO IT'S FUCKING PERFECT LIKE IT'S NOT THE EXACT NATURE I WANTED BUT IT'S BOLD NATURE (-ATTACK +DEFENSE) AND I DONT WANNA USE THE ATTACK STAT BC THE ODDISH LINE IS SPECIAL ATTACKERS AND YEAH
ALSO I ALREADY EDITED THIS ONCE BUT I CHECKED BULBAPEDIA AND THE CHANCES OF GETTING A SHINY WITH AN 11-20 CATCH COMBO WITHOUT A LURE OR SHINY CHARM ARE 4/4096 WTF

I have unpopular Pokemon opinions.. I admit that lol
but here’s how I’d rank the games, based on what I played and also on the region/story, because I never got to actually play Ruby or Sapphire, or Silver or Gold, or SoulSilver either. So this is just how I experienced it.
the “fond memories“ tier is the start of the good tiers tho lol cuz I do love FR/LG as they were my first games and they hold the most special place in my heart, staple games. SwSh & ORAS are on par with how great those games were, to me at least. and it only really gets better from that tier on up lol
RSE weren’t my favorite. I played Emerald, own 2 bootlegs and only 1 of them worked enough that I beat it. I caught a Shiny Oddish in it, too. But overall.. the games weren’t really that great?? I got lost so many times and didn’t know what the heck I was supposed to do. The exploration wasn’t even fun, and I didn’t even bother with the Battle Frontier, it looked A) Boring. 2) Dumb. 3) I would rather make pokeblocks for an hour. just didn’t appeal to me much. :/
but I do like the prof’s lab theme.. it’s the best theme from RSE. I was excited and happy to hear a rendition of it again in ORAS 💕💕 Well.. it’s just as good as the Abandoned Ship theme and the Shoal Cave theme.. and Route 111 💕
