First off, I am in LOVE with your writing. Like managing to put all these characters into pretty drastically different worlds/situations AND keeping a consistent and accurate characterization is INSANELY impressive. Maybe it's just cause I'm bad at characterization myself but it's just so admirable. And all the darlings being their own characters makes it so much more fun cause it leads to actually interesting dynamics between them instead of just "Big man, small woman" or whatever lol.
Second off, I am on my knees begging for more price&price content. I love them and I want to see more of their dynamic SO BAD. Also I'd love to see the demon girlies interacting with each other. Like do they know each other from earlier? Does their partners rank affect how they interact with each other? Do they have their own ranking in the demon world? Also I want to know if Luck actually got in trouble with/because of demon Price. ALSO also, I just read the miracle thingy (sorry can't remember titles it's 2:28) with Luck and Gaz and an idea popped into my head of demon Price teaching Luck some basics in "Defending Your Man TM". (Also patiently waiting for when you feel like posting 1fae1 again cause I love them 💕)
Now I will bid you good night and ACTUALLY try to sleep cause I have work in the morning 😭.
There's no better compliment than to be told my characterization is good. I could scream over that. I am screaming over it. Thank you!! I'm gonna answer 2 of your questions and also write you some Price/Price fic.
Does their partners rank affect how they interact with each other? Yes, significantly. Price(demon) is serving the captain of the other demons' handlers, so she functions as their superior officer.
Do they have their own ranking in the demon world? Yes again! The demons ranks in hell translate directly to military ranks so it's easy for them to slot in to the human military. This doesn't always mean that their rank is functional in the hierarchy of the human military, but it gives context to their skills and ability levels. It's fortunate that Price(demon) has the highest rank out of the demons on base, but even if she didn't Price's(human) rank means the demons have to listen to her.
"So," Price starts, not looking up from the paperwork on his desk, "Gaz is toting a civvie around." You wince at the mountain of questions he isn't asking. You have your own paperwork you're sifting through. Clearance levels, transfer requests, a letter to Luck's previous superior, several more letters of justification for her station. Promises to keep her close and make sure she never distributes her gifts to anyone but Gaz. Luck's a smart cookie, but this is just... moronic.
"More like toting around an analyst," You grumble, "at least Luck got through basic before being relegated to desk duty." You scratch your head with a sigh, you need at least ten more justifications for Luck's station. Not that anyone can touch her with a contract already bound.
"Anything you need from me?" Price signs a form, sets it in the out box on his desk. You shake your head, there will be papers for him to sign of course, but currently you're on your own. You've been on the other side of this enough times, reading the letters other soldiers send down when a huge mistake is made, you know what to write. It's just the mountain of other problems this brings. Someone has to pay for this.
"Void my contract so I can shove this off on someone else?" You suggest.
"Not happening," You can hear the smile in Price's voice. Stupid, fond, man. You look up from your work to watch him staple a handful of papers together, picking up and setting down his cigar onto his ashtray as needed. You long pause of silence makes him look over at you, pausing his own work, "What?"
"Just thinking," You hum, "We're a good team."
"Agreed," He sets his cigar down, pushes back from his desk, and leans back in his chair. It's your favorite invitation, his hand settled on his thick thigh rubbing his military issue fatigues. You're quick to get up from the small couch in the corner of his office to take his hand's place. His arm wraps around your back, his hand grips your thigh to pull your legs over one arm of his desk chair. "Let's hear what you're thinking," The tone of his command is soft, but it's an order you can't help following.
"Would you ever take a position as a demon? Even if it meant serving under me?" You don't know, can't say for certain, what rank hell would offer him, but it wouldn't be far off to think he'd be working with you.
"Sweetheart I serve under you at least once a day, can't see how it'd be any different in hell." Price leans his elbow against your knee, his cheek against his fist. He raises his brows in amusement as you shake your head. He thinks he's clever.
"You're funny," You tell him. Price hums.
"You mind tellin' the boys that?" He turns back to his work, "Maybe they'll actually laugh at one of my jokes if they hear you're-"
"What? Threatening them?" You laugh.
"Wouldn't bloody hurt," He grumbles, and you laugh harder.

car shopping part 1
ok i had capslock on when i started typing this and i startled myself, lol. i am. a bit tired and punchy. BUT. All hail my lovely middle-little sister, who volunteered to come take me to car dealerships last night.
Here are my extremely scientific notes on how that went, so that I can narrow down my car choices for definitely for sure:
1) Honda: we went to a Honda dealership, and my mom has a CR-V which I've driven and it's... fine, so I tried the HR-V, which is smaller. The sales guy immediately without asking was like "here you want this one" and had me test-drive a used 2020 model-- low mileage, nice car, but used. "Won't be here in a couple days tho, act fast," he said, and gave me his card. I'd told him this was the very first car of my search and I wasn't in a hurry. He didn't show me anything new, or tell me about anything new, but did say there were often quite long waits for new cars. Gotcha. Like, I'm not mad, but I'm also not going to pay $23,9 for a three-year old car when the current year's model is $24k. You know? I don't care how long the warranty is.
2) Subaru: we went because it was right there. Wandered around the parking lot. Crosstreks look... lower now?? somehow?? than mine? Much lower, don't know why. Specs said same ground clearance but. I'd have to look up what the specs were in 2014. Sales guy came out, asked if we wanted to see anything. M-L said I should try the Forester, so I was like sure, why not; one of the farm workers has a 2020 Outback I figured I'd ask his opinion on, and actually the part time veg helper guy has a recent Outback too, so there's no shortage of those around. So I test-drove a Forester. And like. I hadn't even got out of the parking lot and the guy was like, all casual, "so how's the visibility," and I really looked around and was like holy shit okay i can see through time so I really liked it. It was a higher-end package (had a huge sunroof, i actually really liked that, i'm a shallow bitch i guess) and kept trying to nanny me about leaving the lane on the winding back road but the guy reached over and pressed the button that disables that and it stopped yelling at me, which was great. Anyway. I did not expect that. M-L and I theorized about what kind of guy I'd be to be a Forester guy. "A middle-aged wealthy lesbian with a lot of large dogs," M-L said, and I was immediately depressed to realize that only one of those things is actually applicable. I have no wife and no large dogs. These are major failings of my life. But. I mean. We don't always end up the person we thought we'd be when we were nineteen.
3) Then we got to the Ford dealership, and a guy named Joey was like "ay what's up," and i listed the cars I was interested in and he was like "i can't get those or those but I got Broncos, let's go see one" and walked incredibly fast out into the parking lot without looking like he was hurrying, seriously it was eerie how fast he walked while looking like he was just ambling, and he led us to a "cactus gray" Bronco Sport, said "you wanna try this one? aight hang on" and went back into the building. I was like uh sure, we poked around the parking lot, and then he came back, handed me the key, was like "yah you two go for it, you know the roads around here? yah go see if you like it, I'll be here til eight." and off we went, slightly bemused. But yes, we were quite near M-L's house so she led us around a winding path. The Bronco's hood takes up rather a lot of the view out of the windshield. I raised my seat, which helped slightly. I could not find the right edge of the car and kept straying over into the shoulder. It was so boxy. The visibility out of the windows wasn't fantastic. But it had a lot of zoom and handled all right. Not terrible. I'm not a Ford Bronco guy I don't think, but I liked the Ford dealership folks, they were funny.
The sales manager came out and talked to me briefly and was like "well i mean how many cars are you looking for" and i was like "i have a spreadsheet" and he was like "a what now" and i got my phone out and showed him the spreadsheet Dude made and he was like "your guy is something else" and i was like "i mean, he sure is", and I did feel better about not being a wealthy middle-aged lesbian with large dogs if this is what I have instead but like. I mean. The road not taken etc.
"take notes," M-L said as we got home (after i bought her a sushi dinner bc there was a place right by the dealership and also i wanted sushi), and i was like "yah ok" but this is my notes. i'm sure i'll be able to make sense of them later.

Well it didn't take long for my parents to go to the humane society and take in another soul who needed a loving home after the passing of Lucy so everyone welcome Mandy!!!! She's a little zooted rn from being fixed but as soon as she starts to feel better she's gonna get so much love and care it's gonna be unreal. Rn she's a little thin cause we think she came from a not so great home situation so that's a huge thing we're gonna be working on but so far she seems super loving and kind and I'm so stoked to get to know and love her ;;
And there's a second surprise lol we're also getting a boy shepherd for her to be playmates with lol so two new family members. We're waiting on his clearance from the place to take him home and he doesn't have a name yet but we're gonna have two new babies! I'm glad that we're gonna be helping two more souls get loving homes. I know it's what Lucy would have wanted 💜

I hope you never stop talking about Leon. OG or Remake doesn't matter. Just keep it loud and LOUDER for the people in the back. Please. <33
Now, for my question, as we know that OGs and more specifically CGI movies are only canon to them, the new approach Capcom took with Leon's relationship with Ada starting RE2R to RE4R and how he's basically done with her at the end, there's a vaaast difference there imo it's practically unmissable and even Nick was talking how Leon is "done with her shit" to put it bluntly. So it really does seem like there's a different approach to Leon's entire relationship with her. And when we combine all that, it makes sense that Damnation is cut out of this because it's just not gonna fit... the entire concept and point of this game is Leon moving past his trauma that includes Raccoon City and Ada both, and he does that by forming a bond with another human being that he rescues but also Luis. There's so many different things and the way they play out that to me personally this is absolutely a different take on Leon. They're now two different people/characters. Which is why i am so excited and ready to see how RE6R will play out especially with Ada where we get the utmost closure.
Again, this is my two cents. But i really love your takes and i wish you continue. There's so many misinformation out there that's being spread on an almost daily basis that this fandom deserves some clearance. Stay strong and take care !! <3
Oh I absolutely agree!!! Capcom's definitely taking a new approach to Leon and Ada this time around with the remakes. Admittedly, I'm not the biggest fan of the vilification of Ada in the remakes, but then I've never been a big enough fan of her to have a strong opinion on it either way? Especially since they're just heavily leaning into what was already there in the original games, so I'm all here for this different perspective. Leon's feelings towards Ada in RE4R are completely justifiable and feel very realistic and genuine. Also I'm a HUGE sucker for narratives where two characters grow through their experiences with one another, so the way that Ashley and Leon do just that in the RE4R makes my heart melt. I'm really glad Capcom decided to approach Leon's Raccoon City trauma in the way they did — with his relationships with Ashley, Luis, as well as Ada and Krauser, being representative of him processing his inner turmoil and moving forward.
Hahaha thank you!!!! 🖤 Seriously, I'm glad you like my meta so much!!!
I think a lot of the misinformation floating around is just misguided, ya know? I don't think a lot of people are satisfied with the information provided to them (regarding anything prior to the remakes), so they're constantly digging for more and can easily find themselves believing something that's not necessarily true because that's what they want to believe. They want there to be more depth laid out in front of them than what's already there, they want a certain level of tragedy to be properly explored with good writing, etc.
Then the other part of it is that I think that younger/newer fans just take issue with OG Leon when they're not sexualizing him (which I'm not saying is wrong, mind you). Almost like people are threatened by the idea of their favorite character being flawed in a way that they don't deem as acceptable. Leon's flaws are relatively minimal and often come at the detriment of himself rather than others, but that doesn't mean that he is without any flaws that impact those around him. OG Leon wasn't/still isn't written with gen-z kids in mind, so I feel like it's natural for younger people to gravitate towards remake Leon because he's more palatable. He feels safer, so-to-speak. I think that's perfectly reasonable. However, I think the general bias skews peoples' perspectives when taking OG Leon into account.
Also I think people are just confused lol because of how murky lore shit can be, and again, people are want to believe anything that makes them think that there's more depth than what's being provided in canonical material.
That's why I'm happy to share my own meta/knowledge/whatever, because I think it's nice to offer another perspective into the mix!!

A walking oxymoron; chapter 5
Old beginnings, new familiarities
Tumblr media
A Cole Cassidy x reader fic
Chapter 1 | Chapter 4 | Chapter 6 (not written yet)
AN:
dgbfhdgb regretting beginning to write this and it's only chp 5... Oh well, made a commitment. Expect the next update by next fri-sun, but with some stuff happening this week i might have to postpone it til next weeks fri-sun. Oh I also got threatened to get beat up by someone in my school, so that's why this chapter is a little bit late but still on schedule. It's getting sorted but was still scary lol
Tumblr media
You walked in, taking a good look at the facility. The sun shone in gloriously, the building pleasantly warm and humid; a welcoming embrace that didn’t do anything to help you currently. You took in the area around, it had pretty blue couches gathered around short, sleek, ivory coffee tables; the people who sat there looked extremely important, all in suits and chatting lightly amongst one another, and every once in a while a worker dressed in that same blue as the couch, that very same yale blue. Turning your attention to the front desk, you noticed the people working there, three gorgeous women with bold makeup and perfect hair. With such a high end government facility, you weren’t surprised the standard was to constantly be well dressed.
You walked up, nearly bumping into the marble-like white slab. “Excuse me, I’m here as a new-”
Being cut off quickly by the women to the right, she had long straight black hair, with sleek, almond eyes. Her voice was soft yet firm as she spoke, you only wished you had the confidence to sound so sure of yourself as you spoke, “We’ve been expecting you, you’re coming in just from England, right?” You nodded as she continued typing; even as she spoke she continued to move diligently, not even looking up at you. She sipped her coffee as she continued typing, then said, “Give me a slight second, I just gotta save this file.” She continued to type, then dragging her mouse and giving a few clicks.
She leaned down, opening a drawer and then as she leant back up she handed you a small box. It wasn’t so small that you needed only one hand to hold, but it wasn’t so big that it wouldn’t be possible either. It was rectangular, almost square and very short. You walked off, and muttered a small ‘thank you, have a lovely day’ as she responded with a typical, “No problem, you too.” Though, again, not once did she look up.
Walking over and sitting down at those very same blue couches, you opened the box. Inside you found a couple items: a badge, with your name and a clearance level stating ‘level 8’, a small map, a guide, and a lab coat.
You took a look at the guide, noting how it told you to head to floor 14, room 13L. The lab coat seemed to be made of a nice material, one that felt soft but looked rough and repellant. These guys must be really rich to be able to afford this stuff.
As you put everything in and stood up, you couldn’t help but notice the sheer lustre of the building you were in. It felt and looked like a car dealership, except the area where you’d normally have the cars on display was switched out with a sort of cubicle-like area, where staff seemed to discuss something important with all those business people. Like deals, information on criminals and partnerships on research.
You noticed the elevators, they were a light-grey, metallic sheen with buttons that matched the entire aesthetic of the whole place. Stepping inside, you saw the absurd amount of floors. It went from floor 15, all the way down to floor -20. This place was HUGE.
You pressed your badge to a scanner, and selected floor 14, and awaited within the elevator. Unlike the old hotel’s elevator, this one was smooth and fast, and you turned to see the mirror in the back and fixed up how you looked. You needed to get everything adjusted, you were likely to meet your new coworkers and you didn’t want them to get a bad impression of you.
The thick, silvery doors opened and you stepped out into the waiting area. There was a sort of homely feel to the area. Immediately you noticed the couch and television set up. The couch was soft and velvety and was in a large L shape, with a rustic coffee table and a thin TV. Below that coffee table was a red rug, one that watched the couches rouge perfectly, bordered with medium browns and gold-like threads. Turning your head and looking about the room, you noticed the large kitchen just past the adjacent archway, along with a grandiose dining table. You couldn’t even begin to count the amount of chairs lining it.
The room you were in contained not only that couch, but several other areas. One with a TV and gaming console, a corner with a wall creating a box shape around it and enclosing a small library, filled with blankets and bean bags, with a fan and radiator both turned off. There was a lot of stuff around, you could never get bored in here; the red, brown and gold colour scheme with a warm yellow light and rustic, warm feel only made you feel like you didn’t want to leave either.
It was all very welcoming to someone who had just arrived.
You walked into the kitchen joint with a dining room, you looked at the kitchen first. There were multiple stoves, and the freezer was a whole separate box from the fridge. It had many counters, a ginormous spice wall, and so many ingredients to cook with. It truly had everything. And lighting the kitchen and dining tables was a small chandelier, it just had some simple warm lights but it had a big effect on the room. The only thing between the two rooms that didn’t strictly follow the aforementioned colour scheme was the walls. They were painted a grey-blue tone, one that felt like looking at a dark rain cloud on a stormy day. Not in the sad way, but rather in the same mood that you’d stay in your room, reading a book all day, with a vanilla scented candle lit for many hours.
You then saw a lengthy hallway in between the lounge area and the kitchen; all the doors that lined it weren’t of that same Arcadian look, but were rather techy. A concave, rounded out line, almost like a vertical car handle, with two lights beside it and a scanner on top. Some doors had a red light lit whilst others had a green one.
Not all the doors were a pristine grey-blue like the walls, some were faded, others covered in stickers, drawings and signs. But they all stuck out with a sign in the middle, with just the number. Walking down the hallway, you turned left and saw the sign on the door, 3L. This is your room.
You walked in, and looked at the map to familiarise yourself. You dragged your suitcases in and stepped inside, setting them down. You’d adjust your room and everything some other time, you just needed to meet everyone first. Best to be done with the exhausting parts first, right?
You walked back into the lounge, then into the elevator, selecting floor 13, the major cafeteria. Thank god for the map also labelling the typical serving times and who was allowed in to certain areas; the cafeteria was open from 11:30 to 2:30 and only to clearance level 5 and up, and guessing the current time of 12:17, everyone you’d be working with was most likely eating there.
You were met not with a sea of people as you’d expected, but rather a good couple. You were immediately greeted by Morrison, as he greeted you and welcomed you in. You also met some interesting faces. A tall man with a black beanie named Reyes, a cheery girl about your age named Lena, a slightly older woman with silky black hair named Amari and that was it to who was immediately introduced to you, though looking around the room you could see many others.
You could see a man(?) with cybernetic enhancements of sorts, with red circles creating a slight red aura of light around him, barely noticeable to most. Though artists of sorts tended to pick up on these things. In front of him was a blond, almost angelic woman and beside her was an extremely large gentleman, with a scar across his left eye and a man with a cowboy hat on the other side. You could also see, littered across the room, a tall and thin ginger woman, a white and blue robot who seemed engrossed in a conversation with a woman with her hair tied up in a bun, a short, stocky, blond man and many other new faces.
“So, how was the flight?” Lena asked, god did it feel good to hear a familiar accent in such a strange place. The people were nice, yes, but it was still daunting to do this.
“Not too bad, though I slept through most of it.” You replied, dipping your voice slightly towards the end as Lena chuckled.
Amari spoke up, voice cutting through the conversation, “Morrison’s told you you’ll also need to participate in some missions, right?”
If you’d had a drink, you’d be spitting it out right about now, but as all you had was words, you spat them out instead, “No???” you questioned, giving her an inquisitive look. Oh well, nothing in life this good could possibly come free. She sank her palm into her forehead as she shook her head, and as much as Lena looked slightly concerned and pitiful for you, she tried her best to cheer you up, “Well, I’m sure it won’t be too much of a hassle. If it’d be something serious I’m sure he would’ve mentioned it before! It’ll probably just be some light stuff, and with people with you as well!” You chuckled dryly in response to this, your anxieties were already culminating and bubbling up exponentially, but they were almost spilling over right now with this new information; ‘Just focus on your breathing, just focus on meeting everyone’ you told yourself, if you didn’t focus on your anxiety, surely you’d feel calmer.
Lena then spoke back up, seemingly noticing your fidgeting, “Oh! There’s some more people you haven’t met! I’ll introduce you!” She grabbed your arm, and dragged you over to a table. The same one where you’d noticed a cowboy, a cyborg and the angelic woman. Except now Reyes, the tall ginger lady and the stocky blond man were also there.
Lena spoke for you as you both sat down, “Everyone, give a warm welcome to our new recruit!” Everyone gave a nice welcome as you sat and gently waved as you smiled, then Lena spoke again, “How about we all introduce ourselves a bit? I’ll start. I’m Lena Oxton, born and raised in England, trained as a pilot and ummm, I don’t know if there’s a lot more. I guess a neat bit about me is that I did track and a lot of cross country in secondary!” She seemed so cheerful, as did almost everyone around.
Then the cybernetic man spoke up, “I’m Genji Shimada, I’m from Japan. I’m a ninja.”
“Well come on, Genji, give a bit more about yerself. Might as well given’ yer gunna be spendin’ a lot o’ time with our new recruit ‘ere.” The cowboy commented, and the Ninja sighed at his comment, adding a short, “I really like arcades.” You weren’t going to get much out of him, were you? Then went the cowboy, “I’m Cole Cassidy, but you can call me Cass. I’m a born ‘n’ raised Texan, and I’ve won best shot in my town 3 times straight. They had to ban me from playin’ at fairs ‘cuz I’d always win.” There was an odd charm to him, he was your typical cocky American but something told you there was more to him; he was hiding something.
Then went the angelic woman, her voice was smooth and light - a feathery tone - and she spoke softly, not so soft that you couldn’t hear, but not a brazing loudness like Cass, “I’m Angela Ziegler, I’m from Switzerland and I’m a medic. I don’t think this is much of a fun fact, but I invented nano-biotic medicine.” She smiled softly, but that’s when it set in for you. These were professionals, you didn’t have the basic most idea of what you were doing. Even with how you were going currently, you had nothing on these people. It was amazing how based on potential alone they hired you. You’d never even held a gun in your life, unless those fake theme park blasters in Chessington counted, and these people were fighting out there. Constantly.
Then came the behemoth of a man, the one with a scar across his eye, “I’m Reinhardt! I’m from Germany, and I graduated in theatrics and storytelling, though I don’t use it much in this line of work.” His voice boomed.
Then was the doctor, she had a sort of intimidating stare, most people seemed to cower away from her, but she reminded you a bit of yourself. You might just be projecting, but she intrigued you, “I’m Moira O’Dearan, and I’m Irish. I quite like old poetry, though new ones do pique an interest sometimes.” She was definitely reminding you quite a bit of yourself now.
Then came the short, stocky man, “I’m Torbjörn Lindholm, I’m Swedish and I’m an engineer. I mostly make weapons, but I do also quite enjoy tinkering with small toys.”
You were surprised by the people here, they were very incredulous. It was hard to believe that Morrison thought you were good enough to hire if they were also. The fates must’ve aligned greatly for you to be here right now; you didn’t feel worthy enough to be here, not in the slightest.
These people continued to talk, discussing random topics of interest, whatever seemed to come to their minds in the moment. It never felt like there was a moment for you to interject however. You simply listened, and perhaps, in these new and uncertain days, that was for the best, as you’d first observe, then get yourself to integrate as part of the group.
Then they asked you a question, in the perfect moment when you weren’t ready; Cass asked you, “What’ve you been hired as?”
You stuttered at first, brain seeming to falter, then regaining control and answering, “I’m part of the science division.”
The cowboy seemed to give a slight ‘dammit’ under his breath, as Moira giggled lowly, a sly smile covering her face. This then devolved into a friendly argument about what was better, the science, engineering, attack or defence divisions? The conversation was pleasant, and you noticed little things about everyone that might help you to better get along with them. Then came the warning bell that the cafeteria was about to close, and almost everyone went back to what they’d been doing earlier. Moira went to her lab, as did Mercy and Torbjörn. Amari, Morrison and Reyes went off somewhere, and the others all returned to the lounge.
Stepping inside, you sat in the tiny library and looked at the collection of books. There were a lot of classics within, things that you’d read before, but wouldn’t hurt to read again; you picked out Frankenstein, it’d always been one of your favourites as it ticked off your favourite things in a book: a deep, philosophical question, horror, and gothic writing. It still remains your favourite to this day. As you sat curled up, you felt someone sit beside you, “I hope I’m not bothering you, but do you mind if I sit here?” Lena asked. You replied, “Not at all! I’ve read this book before anyways so if you wanna talk I’m free.”
She tucked her knees into her chest, and looked around awkwardly, “So… What’s your favourite kind of book?” She inquired, it wasn’t really a genuine question and you could tell - she wanted to ask you something else but couldn’t bring herself to do so.
“Dark, philosophical stuff. Especially gothic and very descriptive literature.” you answered, then adding, “It’s one of the reasons I really like Frankenstein.” She hummed as she nodded.
Then, gathering courage she asked, “Are - Are you,” she paused slightly as she closed her mouth, then again she spoke, “Are you.. Alright? Earlier you seemed fidgety and nervous, and meeting new people can be daunting but I just wanted to check in. You don’t have to go into detail, and Genji and Cass are playing video games, so you don’t have to worry about them hearing.”
You pondered what you should respond, you could lie and say you were completely fine or tell her all your woes about everything. You settled for something in the middle, “I’m okay, I think I can handle this. But… I am quite nervous about all this. Everyone here seems so skilled, amazing and I’m just… I’m just me. I don’t think I even begin to compare to you all. Add that to the fact I’m already nervous about meeting new people and I just, I just get a bit nervous, is all.”
She nodded, chuckling lightly, “I don’t know if this’ll help calm your nerves or not, but we’re not quite as ‘amazing’ as you think,” She did air quotes as she said amazing, only adding to their emphasis, “I’ve got my faults, as does everyone. And don’t worry, I’ve been in the same shoes you’re in right now, you just… gotta wait a bit! You’ll see, everyone here’s quite nice too!”
You then heard a small shout from away, and peaking your head from the corner of the bookshelf you heard what sounded like a small argument.
“No way you got that! Yer usin’ some sorta cheats!”
“No cheats. Just skill.”
“I’ll bet my bottom doller that’s a lie.”
“Skill issue plus git gud plus ratio.”
“What’s that mean?”
“Gamer slang for ‘you are just bad at the game’”
“AM NOT”
“You are.”
“I AM NOT BAD AT THE GAME. YER JUST… too gud.”
“Sooo… what I’m hearing is that you are bad at the game?”
“I AM NOT!...”
Silence ensued, and as you turned to look, Genji gave him a dry stare, as Cass backed into his chair, and scratching his neck spoke, “Okay, maybe I am kinda bad at this game… BUT MY POINT STILL STANDS”
Genji chuckled slightly, and they started another round. You turned around to face Lena, as she shrugged. You stood up and walked over. Coming between the two you asked, “Do you mind if I join?”
Genji spoke no words, only handing you the controller. It was a simple, street-fighter like game. Cass was out almost immediately, but it was a tough fight between you and Genji. You weren’t even warmed up and he was nearly losing, but in the end the tables turned and you’d lost. You weren’t taking losing as an answer and neither was Cass. You three continued in rounds and rounds of games, until at last a voice rang over the speakers telling you that it was your curfew to sleep. The final score ended up being Cassidy - 2, you - 7 and Genji - 9.
You went into your room, getting into the shower; nearly-boiling hot water always washed stress away from you so nicely. Then, as you stepped out, you cleared the excess makeup away from your face, then changing into some much more comfortable clothing. You laid down in bed. You hadn’t even unpacked your suitcase and probably wouldn’t end up finishing until 3 to 5 tomorrow.
Soft covers enveloped you as you drifted off, worries melting away as your mind turned to soft mush in the blankets. Tomorrow's worries will be tomorrow's worries.

Hi! I'm looking into getting a pet bird but all the cages that I've found look cramped. Oh and I'm planning a pair of budgies. I noticed that you have what looks like a nice one. Would you mind my asking where you got it? Or just like recommendations in general?
Thank you so much in advance! I just want a big cage for my future feather babies
Hello! Unfortunately I don't think that they make the kind of cage my budgies have anymore T_T It's a Vision L02, which I can't find anywhere now. There is a Vision L12, but the bar spacing on that one is too wide for budgies (the bars on the L12 are almost an inch apart, and for budgies no more than half an inch is recommended). Fortunately, when it comes to cages, there are a lot more options than there used to be when I first got my birds (almost 10 years ago now)!
Generally speaking, the larger the cage, the better, even for a couple of small birds like budgies. Usually anything that is marketed as a "parakeet cage" or a "budgie cage" is going to be way too small for actual budgies to be happy and healthy in. I've had a lot of luck searching "flight cages" or "finch flight cages"--ideally, you really want your birds to have some room to fly around in their cages. For this reason, it's generally also considered best to get a cage that's wide and short than one that's tall and skinny (since birds need lateral space in order to take off), but these can be hard to find. Fortunately, a lot of flight cages are big enough that it doesn't matter that they tend to be taller than they are wide! I had this exact one for Spencer for many years before it finally fell apart (it was disassembled for moving purposes and reassembled one too many times), and it would be PLENTY big for two budgies!
You can get some pretty reasonably priced ones at Amazon (although be aware that the quality can vary widely, so it's wise to read the reviews first!), but I have also found really good deals looking at the online clearance section at pet stores' websites! I got Spencer's current flight cage (which is DEFINITELY big enough for two budgies) on sale on a big chain pet store's website for around US$250, which is extraordinarily cheap for a cage of its quality and size! If there's a parrot rescue near you, you might also check and see if they ever have cage sales--when I lived in a U. S. state (Colorado) that has a big parrot rescue (The Gabriel Foundation), they would sometimes fundraise by selling their spare cages at good prices. Facebook Marketplace and Craigslist (does anyone other than me still use Craigslist, lol) can also be good places to look but make sure the cage is in good condition before you buy it--a lot of people use these methods to try to unload cages that are damaged or no longer suitable for housing birds (e. g., they're rusty or bent or the bars are made of uncoated, potentially toxic, metal, etc.).
I hope this helps! Please let me know if you have any questions, and thank you so much for doing your research before getting birds! <3 It really makes a huge difference for their quality of life!

moving woes (and also good things)
moving is stressful ;_; i'm not actually moving but my sister is and it's a lot!!!! the whole apartment is a disaster rn :( but soon i will get to move my stuff in here and copper will get to live with me which is really exciting so i'm trying to keep that in mind and keep my chin up!!! but right now i am stressed about the state of things x.x we're done for the night so i'm trying to get my mind off of things for now.
i'm currently looking at doily patterns to distract myself bc i got the coolest orange slice table from the 60s, it was a steal on marketplace and i'm really excited about it!! we've always had a huge rectangular dining table in here, but i've wanted a little round table for the longest time and this one is perfect. i think it'll really tie everything together in here :) i inherited a lot of mcm furniture from my grandparents who didn't update their mobile home once after buying it in the 70s, and i got even more from my sister bc she used to like mcm decor but changed up her decorating, so luckily i've more or less got everything i need. my mom even helped me get the couch i had my heart set on bc it was discontinued in the color i want and there was 1 left on clearance ;o; the matching chair is like twice as much as what we bought the couch for lol. i could use like... a shelf/counter for the kitchen (we had a 2x4 kallax there and it was perfect for the space) and i'd like to get the matching armchair to go with my couch if i can find one for a decent price, but everything else is thankfully squared away.
spending large sums of money stresses me out (and it's not even that much, but not having steady work due to my health means it feels like a lot more) and everything is moving really fast right now (my mom is also moving, and i will probably be moving out when the lease ends in august) but everything is actually going really well right now and i'm really trying to internalize that. all will be well :)

had a odd dream and don't remember the entirety of it but for a lot of it i was in some alternate universe where i was royalty and i don't remember what that section of the dream was really about there was a bunch of drama but i just remember that they had a blue crab stew that a mom and pop restaurant i used to love served and i was excited lol
there was also another part where i was back home again and i went to a huge store with my brother and i found this super clearance rack in the back corner that had porcelain dolls that had been there a long time so they were super cheap. and the store was having a 30 percent off sale on top of it AND the clearance rack had an additional 20. there were a few i wanted but and there was this like 6ft tall victorian one, holding a parasol, that looked like it was modeled after an Erika Kosmatka illustration and i was so in love. she was marked down to $40 from 5000 and with the additional 50% she would have been $20 ;_; i'm so mad that shes not real lol

here's my longer review of oppenheimer:
something i think that i've realized about myself as i've gotten older is that what i care the most about in the world is a superior example of a thing that gets done a lot. figuring out how to make a better cocktail or write a better rock song... theoretically, anybody can make a negroni, or pick up a guitar and sing, but you hear "wouldn't it be nice" and you think to yourself, jesus, this is actually really hard to do well. this format has an infinite horizon. there's no limit to what you can do with it, you just need to have someone who sees the possibility within the format.
i feel like nolan is getting to that point as a filmmaker. it's not that i have no qualms with this movie as a piece of technical filmmaking in particular. the sound engineering isn't great at some points, and nolan still has a problem of not caring very much about dialogue. he cares about the *feel* of dialogue and how it rolls off in an editing sense. he wants it to feel propulsive. there are many lines in this movie where it's very Theme is Stated. oppenheimer posing the question in the first few minutes of whether light is made of waves or particles is one of them. but i also don't care that the dialogue is kind of on the nose, because the filmmaking craft broadly here is just. great.
i came into this movie cautiously optimistic, because i like nolan a lot but know this is a big swing. and i left thinking that this was his "saving private ryan". christopher nolan has spent years making movies that are essentially entertainment. yes, there are big ideas involved like time, memory, the nature of identity, and even nuclear fears. dark knight rises ends with a nuclear bomb. tenet had nuclear plot elements (lol). but these aren't big idea question movies about how this is a problem in the world, they're thrillers. but here he's making a biopic – the most formulaic, generic, clockwork genre. they're two hours long, they have a rise, they have a fall, they have a midpoint where it's like "ahh! i'm on top of the world!!" and three quarters of the way in it's like "ahh! i'm addicted to drugs now!!"
they all work the same way. and then nolan comes along with this one and says, "let's use my christopher nolan techniques to tell the story of the man who created the atomic bomb. yes, it will be a biopic and it will follow the three-act structure. the end of the second act will be the trinity test, which is both a triumph and a huge turning point, and possibly the lowest point in all of humanity." you just watch what he does here and it's like you're seeing what a medium can do for the first time.
he's not quite doing anything i haven't seen him do before. if you described to me beforehand, i wouldn't say "what the hell are you talking about?" the biggest innovation here is that the analog fire effects are unusual. but it's also, like, okay, you filmed some fire stuff close up. but the fire effects aren't the point – it all fits together in a way that i've never seen before.
it's a movie about a security clearance cabinet hearing in a small room and he filmed it in imax. and somehow he's made the smallest, most bureaucratic, most boring thing you can imagine, and made it utterly monumental and engaging. this movie grabs you from minute one and pulls you through so you can't look away. and it's three hours long. and a third of it is in black and white.
and again. it's not like i don't have any quibbles at all. but this is filmmaking on a level that we almost never see. this is nolan's bid for greatness. this is him saying "i'm not just a great entertainer. i'm a real filmmaker who can take on big issues and make people care." in the past 20 years, you can't name 10 other people in hollywood who have successfully done that. i'm not even sure you can name five. nolan just did. and i loved it. i just loved it.

Things did get out of hand but we're getting handled on some things it is working and we appreciate the attitude and we see what you're saying we've been out here on this island for a while lol I'm going to send you help. And we're sending a lot of it and Fred wishes you better and well and she says it too and you of course wish her well and to remember it's a huge burden and then people should be sharing it and hopefully they'll come and offer help we need troops and we need people to get conscription going and to stop bothering Thor and Freya and thinking it's done and it happens to me too and he says it you have to go out there and do it and sometimes you're a little confused you don't know are you doing a little testing and then you have to bite the bullet that's a very suppression American expression for you take a lead bullet and you bring it with you and you bite it and you're making impression it's to avoid the pain and I know a pain it is but we have to go through it and conscription is better than the draft and really it is is a mandatory thing now and he said that too and it's because of zigzag and his tests and we're going to put those up to every enlisted person and see if they have seen it or just make sure they've seen it and then at the end of it I will say we have huge projects and show the projects and say we need in the seas and we need them now and we are recruiting you to recruit people and that's a good thing to do and you said to keep it simple and keep it that way and say that and also from she and he or saving lives if you don't do it these people will stay on the planet and reboiled like lobster. And it started to get something that's what it really is cuz you have to scan and you're doing something like on the aircraft carrier and we can show examples of it other than that so they're starting to get something it's very serious and we need to show people who have clearance and basically all have exposure to it and have the clearance so we're going to it now
Thor Freya
We're going to open it up all the way to PFC first class that's the security level and we're going to screen it of course before but your ideas are perfect and what you're saying is you want each and every one of them in there that you said here minimum but not to make it too huge or long and you know 15 minutes for me was good so we're going to listen to that too and she says it too some of these presentations are pretty long and they repeat stuff over and over we're pretty sharp and stuff it's still getting people's attention is the point and I like to have something afterwards something that you can bring with you at some momentum rememberance a pen for viewing the test and accepting the responsibility of the test a pin as well and the pen would be a classy pen and it's going to be something that would be forever and you can call it forever it's more or less about the test and I like to call the test and people figured out that means and they did and he said that too and it's a great it's a great thing and we're going to go ahead with it and throw a Freya are involved yes in the conversation and Hera and zigzag and no water Ariana and many more

"10 points for your Hogwarts house for the secret Amazon account, I know people who buy $10 Amazon gift cards in the grocery store like sneaky sneaks, I fully support these habits 😆"
LOL guilty as charged on the grocery store gift card buy. My college-age kid opted to have some of his textbooks on Kindle. One day during lecture he had his laptop's Kindle app open with the list of books in our "library". I had recently binge-read several Tom Clancy books. He said his friends said "your mom must be kickass!" 😂 Imagine if I've just been bingeing on bodice-rippers. 😅
I'm a sucker for free or cheap first-of-a-series books. (I rarely get hooked by a free prequel novella as it isn't enough to get me invested emotionally.) I also love looking at used/bargain/clearance books to try new-to-me authors. Once I'm hooked to a series or an author, it gets quite expensive paying full price for the rest of the books. LOL
I'm looking forward to reading your books! 🍿🥤
Hahahahaha! It's a must do! If he's still in college and using digital textbooks on your account, please open and close several erotic romances. For science. (For me.)
Not to give away the tricks of the trade, but that's why we do it. *wink wink* On a serious note though, it's a big gamble to spend money on a new author, and one I get as both an author and reader. I love those free first books! I read cosy mysteries which can roll over 10 books in a series, so I reeeeally don't want to spend £4 to know if I like it LMAO. First-in-series freebies are great for that because it's a guilt-free way for both you and us to meet each other. You don't like it? No big deal--just delete from your device. It didn't cost you anything. And it didn't cost me anything either, because you're not returning it which costs me the royalties. Win-win.
I try to bundle my series books into a boxset after a certaint amount of time, but I'm also happy to do sales. At time of post, 21/1/23, Lady Love is free, and book two Dating the Duke is 99c, book three is full price, but the reader is still saving $7 which is huge, and I hope the reader will spend that 3.99 on book three because they like my words and think it's worth it. It's like my speed dating pitch.

Well it’s nearly the end of the year and as usual I like to blab something about it before it becomes wtf!2023???
it was a preeeeeeeeetty good year... i had a very chill start, then i got my old (casual) job back, then i got the part-time version of it and my contract goes to the end of next year, which is nice. but already there’s talk that it might be extended, which would be really nice, but i won’t be too cut up about it if it doesn’t happen. though, idk what i’ll do next... but that bridge can be crossed when it comes to it
on june 2 i got my fuckin dream car skjfngkdfjngkfjgnfg i was honestly aiming for the older version with the 1hz engine but my parents were like ‘it’s too old!!’ (wtf lol) and so between us we got the 2015 version... wildddd. it’s really no one else’s dream car, unless you know what it’s about. it rattles and it’s LOUD and it’s bumpy and it has hardly any in-car tech (yay!) and no infotainment system (yay!) and wind up windows (yay!!!) and it’s HUGE and it fits only into 2.4m+ carparks (at least i haven’t dared to try one with 2.3m clearance yet) and it has a turning circle of a.... very small bus.... actually it IS classified as a bus, lol. anyway, i still have a lot to do to it, but that’s what i love about it, and i’m very excited to make it comfy and quiet and my home on wheels, and i should really get started on some of that soon lol.
we alsoooo got aoife the cat :3 she was watching the 9pm fireworks actually, it was sooooo cute. (i think she just likes the lights, and she likes the lights/shadows of the passing car headlights when everyone tries to leave our suburb after each fireworks is over.) she’s also lately a TV addict (she loves those cat tv youtube vids), and she loves the garden and being outdoors and stalking birds. and she’s a really good insect hunter. and she eats cockroaches. gross. she also doesn’t like food much (...) but she looooooves pats. and she loves being called to come, unless she’s busy or asleep. and she goes on car trips with us. actually i can’t believe we’ve only had her since jan 28, it feels a lot longer than that ever since she reached adulthood/the past couple of months. also she has the cutest sweetest meow. and starts crying when we turn the TV off. and cries sometimes if we leave her downstairs LMAO. and she loves other cats and is scared of human strangers, esp ones that enter the house skjfngkg. and she follows us everywhere unless she’s too sleepy. i’ve never had a cat like her, but i hear that maine coons are dog-like, so i guess that’s why.
in other news, my parents are getting old. it’s kinda... well ‘weird’ isn’t the right word, but the balance is changing. we should’ve gotten that car 10 years ago lol. rn i’m the only one who can drive it--although i think my dad can drive it again in a couple of months or so (that’s what he says anyway). but i really need to fix the bumpiness.
oh yeah, job-wise, the best part about it is the driving and picking up stuff, and getting paid for it!! yas
okay, that was like, really all over the place and not even vaguely structured or organised, but what the hell, i’m not writing a fucking essay
also i would like to say that alongside the sound of a lawnmower, the sound of a house party is Right Up There on my list of Most Hated Sounds, ffssssssss

Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag part 39
Tumblr media
Wow. This one was a long one because it just kept going when I expected it to stop. So I played longer than I had planned. A lot happened too, it was like the turning point for Kenway. It started back when I was outside of the animus where I had to walk around and get to the servers where I met Juno. Then back in the Animus, Kenway was in jail and witnessed Mary Read and Anne Bonney being charged. I then broke out, someone died, and Kenway went in a downward spiral of grief. Then I finished the night off by going back to an island to get the rest of the treasure. This is what happened.
Tumblr media
I started back where I left off being locked up. The IT guy, John was telling me that he had given me level 3 clearance and that I had to go to the security room, but Melanie was in there, so he was going to distract her while I go in there and wipe the servers to get rid of the evidence of my hacking.
Tumblr media
I was then free to explore around, I turned out to be in a Bunker and there was another computer...so I hacked it, when I was on my way to erase evidence of my hacking. lol
Tumblr media
I also found out I wasn’t the only person down here. There were 2 other people here, but they were in the animus so I couldn’t interact with them.
Tumblr media
I continued on to the security room and had to hack in. Once I did I could see John talking to Melanie and telling her that his team was taking care of the investigation into the hacker. Melanie said he should have extra eyes on this since they don’t know how the hacker got in. And she can’t keep her people down here forever. John just responded, he technically can since they signed contracts. But he said they were processing the data now and they will get through it in a week.
Tumblr media
I started moving again and John said he had ditched Melanie at the coffee stand and said to get to the server room. He has a record of each one of my hacks and I just have to search the records and delete them.
Tumblr media
I made it to the server room and it is huge! John updated my communicator with a program that I think was to get in and I had to use the terminal there. First I had to crack the code and then go through the data to get in.
Tumblr media
I hacked into the server and had to go some decoding before I was able to extract the data.
Tumblr media
Once I logged off, an image of Juno appeared, John asked if I could see her (he knew this would happen?) and she started talking to me. She said the signal was still too weak and she’s spread thin. Maybe they had opened the Temple too soon, but it wasn’t by choice, the cataclysm made them do it and poor Desmond sacrificed himself so that the children of their laborer's would live on. To fulfill their purpose, to fulfill hers.
Tumblr media
But she was still weak and didn’t have the strength to inhabit an organic vessel. There is still more work to do. More samples to collect and artifacts to find. She said for her children to make her whole again and bring her forth to fulfill my purpose. Then she disappeared.
Tumblr media
John had been continually demanding to know what was happening, getting increasingly frantic and when she was gone, he said something had went wrong. That she should be here living in my body...so this entire time John had his own agenda, I was supposed to be the vessel for Juno to inhabit and he led me here intentionally to basically kill me. What a bastard! There was nothing else to do after he went silent so I went back to my bunker room and went back into the animus.
Sequence 11
Tumblr media
The next sequence started in Port Royal, Jamaica in 1720 and Kenway was in taken to prison where he was in the crowd watching a court proceeding and in custody was Mary Read aka Kidd and the bar maid from before Anne Bonny. They were being charged as pirates, and having stolen two merchant ships and left the captain and crew to fear for their lives.
Tumblr media
Kenway was surprised to see them there but as he was in chains, he couldn’t do anything. Then from behind him, Rogers and Torres were there and they knew who he was now. Where he was from and that he was married to a woman named Caroline Scott at 18, but they were now estranged. Torres said that she was a beautiful woman, but isn’t doing well these days. Kenway didn’t take kindly to that and tried to threaten them, but Rogers put a gun to his back.
Tumblr media
Torres then said that they were surprised that he was here rotting in a Jamaican Prison, but they had heard rumors that he knew of the Observatory’s location and if he tells them, they can get him out of here. Rogers could only hold the British back for so long, but his fate will be the same as the ones being charged if he didn’t cooperate.
Tumblr media
It then turned toward the proceedings and the judge said that for their crimes, Mary and Anne were to be sent back to where they came from and hanged until they were dead.
Tumblr media
But Mary said they were pregnant which made the crowd go crazy. The judge didn’t hear and another told him they were pleading their bellies. Anne said they couldn’t hang someone who had a child growing inside her, taunting them.
Tumblr media
The judge said that their executions will be paused for now only until they gave birth and to take them away. Yet, Anne got the last word that as soon as they come back for her she’ll be pregnant again. Wow, feisty.
Tumblr media
Time passed and it was four months later. Kenway was in a cage handing from a pole with guards. They didn’t know who he was but they did get close, but one of the guards said to make sure he suffers but that he doesn’t die.
Tumblr media
After the other guard left, I had to rattle the bars of the cage to the the attention of the ones below me. Once they turned around an Assassin, Ah Tabai came out and killed them. He said he was here to free Anne and Mary and said he didn’t owe him anything for freeing him. But if he lent him a hand he will offer free passage away from this place.
Tumblr media
Ah Tabi had given me the Assassin blades and weapons back and I had to reach the prison. I had some optional objectives and I was determined to do it, so I spent a lot of time on it. One was to sabotage all the bells in the area, there were 3. So I went around slowly using my sleep and berserk darts and killed a lot of soldiers to I could move around more freely and got all the bells.
Tumblr media
The other one was to find some old friends, this one I had a hard time with because the place was huge and I didn’t know where to look. So I looked it up and found that the one I was looking for was in a cage by the beach. So I went up and snuck up on the soldiers there, they said the man was a Pirate and was looking out at the sea hoping for his friends to come looking for him. That he cried like a baby at the gallows.
Tumblr media
After taking care of the guards, I got close enough to the skeleton in the cage and it was Jack Rackham. Kenway said that they weren’t really friends and wasn’t much of a sailor, but he was a lively and strange man that made him laugh. He was sorry to see him like this, but hopes he found lasting peace among the dead.
Tumblr media
With the first old friend found, I went into the prison and when I went inside, I heard a familiar voice singing. I hadn’t heard it since I was stranded on the island with Vane.
Tumblr media
I went around the corner and found out it was Vane, he sounded like he had went mad. Kenway said he had heard he had been found and brought here but didn’t know what happened after. Vane didn’t respond, so Kenway just wished him luck. That completed the objectives.
Tumblr media
As I got closer I could hear Anne calling for help because Mary was sick. But the guards didn’t do anything. If she dies from child birth then God had carried her sentence and their hands were clean. I continued to fight past the guards as I listened as Anne’s cries for help became more desperate.
Tumblr media
I got to the cell and Kenway got to Marry who didn’t look well at all. Anne said she wasn’t doing too well as she just had her baby that they took away as soon as she had it, she didn’t know where they took it.
Tumblr media
Ah Tabi had Anne who was still pregnant but was in labor. She was having contractions but needed her to be silent so they could escape. He took her and led her away while Kenway helped Mary.
Tumblr media
Time seemed to slow down as I tried to help Mary walk so we could escape. She kept saying for him to stop and leave her, but Kenway wouldn’t hear it. It got to the point where she was too weak and he picked her up.

But it was too late for her, she demanded him to put her down and he did. She didn’t want him to die on her account and wanted him to leave.  Kenway said she should have been the one to outlast him, but all she said was that she had done her part will he? He said he would if she went with him. The last thing she said was that she will always be with him and she passed away.

Kenway was really upset but didn’t want to just leave her so he picked up her body and headed out of the prison where I had to make it down to the water. I did drop her when some guards came out, and I killed them, but when I did, Kenway was a lot more aggressive. I then picked Mary back up and down to the boat where Anne and Ah Tabi were.
Tumblr media
When we got to the boat, Anne asked what happened to Mary and Ah Tabi asked if she was gone. Kenway didn’t say anything but put Mary’s body in the boat. He was silent and sad as he walked away and Ah Tabi asked what he will do now. Kenway said nothing sensible. In response, Ah Tabi gave Kenway back the Assassin’s outfit he had been wearing saying he hadn’t earned it but they suit him.
Tumblr media
Edward took the outfit and Ah Tabi wished him good fortune and set off on the boat with Anne while Kenway went back ashore. The mission ended there. (S11/M1 - Mission: To Suffer without Dying - Complete). Wow that was a long one, and so sad. For someone so strong, to have Marry/Kidd die like that was so sad.
Tumblr media
I was going to end after the mission ended but it kept going with the next one which wasn’t really one. Even the in-between scene showed that Kenway had been spending his time drinking since Mary died.
Tumblr media
The scene automatically started with Kenway asking for more alcohol and then Roberts showed up with the crystal skull with him. He was taunting Kenway saying he would never amount to anything and that he had done so much in the years he’s been alive that Kenway had no way of catching up.
Tumblr media
Kenway swerved around and the scene was wobbling showing his drunkenness as I walked toward Roberts and he said to him to give him his prize. I went after him and Kenway tried to hit him and instead got knocked out.
Tumblr media
When Kenway woke up he was on a beach. On that beach were people that were already dead, so I know that Kenway was having hallucionations from drinking too much. He saw Hornigold, Blackbeard, and Kidd as he dragged himself through the sand toward Roberts.
Tumblr media
The next scene was of Kenway in the water with bodies, so it looks like whatever ship he had been on had been attacked.
Tumblr media
When I swam out of the water, I was at some sort of gathering where Rogers was up on a stage telling the story of the Jackdaw that Kenway had gotten the name of his ship. I then had the mission to kill Roberts and moved through the crowd and killed him. But it wasn’t him, I looked down at the body and it looked like an Assassin in white. So I moved on and killed another, yet another wrong person, so I killed another and it still wasn’t him.
Tumblr media
Then I was suddenly on a ship that I had to navigate through some sea tornados and Caroline, Kenway’s wife was there. She was saying he had promised her that he would only be gone for 2 years, why did he keep wandering, did she not make him happy? He said that she was the one who left when he needed her, then just said to let him do this, he was so close.
Tumblr media
Caroline then turned into KIdd, and asked if everything he did was out of spite, which he denied, saying it was courage driving him. But Kidd/Mary said said for what? There was no one left in his life to care, he was always tearing things down when he could be building something, building himself up. He had to change course before it was too late!
Tumblr media
It ended with Kenway passed out on a beach and Adé waking him up. Kenway had a big hangover now and welcomed Adé’s help up. Kenway said he should be mad that he had left him with Roberts, but mostly he was glad to see him. Adé said that he was too. He also said that the Jackdaw was still in one piece.
Tumblr media
Kenway started to say they should set sail, but Adé was backing away. He was leaving, stating he had another calling. He said when his heart and head were ready, visit the Assassin’s. He’ll understand then. Then Adé left leaving Kenway on his own. And that was the end of...it wasn’t really a mission but the guide I found said it was. (S11/M2 - Mission: Delirium - Complete).
Tumblr media
I was still hyped up so I decided to go back to Long Bay where the Observatory and get the rest of the treasure. I had missed a view point, so that was where I started and it revealed the chests I needed to get.
Tumblr media
The Viewpoint also happened to be the very last one in the game. So I’ve synchronized with all of them. Cool.
Tumblr media
I then went after the 3 chests I had missed the first time around and that completed the Long Bay location.
I called it a night after that. It was truly a long one and as I said before, this is a turning point for Kenway. Mary’s dead really affected him and his subconsciousness while he was drunk was telling him that he was going no where with his life, he had to do something and I think going to the Assassin’s is where he will find purpose, which is what he was looking for the entire time, not money. Then there is also the whole thing with John and Juno, I don’t know what I’m supposed to do with the information that he had just tried to essentially kill me by having Juno take over my body. Hopefully, I’ll get more answers later. I can’t wait to see what happens next with Kenway and what is happening outside the animus. But that’s for next time. Until then Happy Gaming!
