something I love about hilson is that (at least within the show), nobody ever tried that “they have a brotherly bond” BS. because pretty much every queercoded pairing from that era has said something along the lines of “you’re like a brother to me”. but not them!! they were always like “yeah I’m violently attracted to you and think we should fuck…./srs.” yes they were repressed but at least they were REAL about it

Martha definitely doesn’t need her own Doctor like Rose or Donna but…an apology? A mention? Some acknowledgment of her existence? That’s all I ask.

Can I just say? I love the way The Librarians shows that Eve is extremely competent.
The way she manages to slip away, catch all the enemy scouts, take them out, and still keep enough of an eye on her charges that she’s not even that disoriented when she steps out of the museum in the pilot
That she not only sends Ezekiel back to return the necklace he stole, she also notices and returns the other one he was trying to keep in the second episode
In fact, she pretty much always notices when Ezekiel is stealing without (her) permission
And I’m pretty sure he only steals from her once and considering how not surprised she is by this I’d venture to say she was aware of his actions even then
The way her steps are absolutely silent in the haunted house
The casual tracking in both And the Hollow Men and And the Fangs of Death
The fact that she’s the one to figure out how to handle a torpedo launch and run away sub in And the Rise in Chaos when that’s clearly not even her department
The casual fluency in several languages when shits just going down (that no one ever comments on???)
The fact that they always always always refer to her as Colonel
And that’s not even touching on her tactical/combat experience/ability because y’know, Guardian, kind of implied

it’s the way Will could’ve easily just said “you’re the heart and we need you” but nooooooo he had to specifically say that without Mike everyone would fall apart at the very start of the climaxing episodes of the penultimate season of a goddamn narrative 😭

i just feel like i have to talk about this because i really love how they handled sangtae’s character. he was clearly written to be the main antagonist that’s keeping yongpil and samdal apart, and even to the point where holding onto this grudge for over 20 years sound almost unreasonable. however, i think it’s a great portrayal of grief and how it can ultimately consume you.
everyone deals with grief differently, and i saw a great post explaining how ko mija and yongpil handling the grief around sangtae made it even worse for him. the plot kept circling back to him being too stubborn to ease up on the hate that i began to wonder if they were going to be able to solve it well enough. but episode 14 delivered because while it was almost getting frustrating seeing sangtae relentlessly not listening to everyone around him, by adding the fact that due to his failing vision and memory, he’s afraid of letting go of this grief. which really ties in to the beginning of the episode between yongpil and samdal, when yongpil was saying how he’s afraid of forgetting samdal. by showing how similar yongpil and sangtae loves, makes it hard to truly hate him (even if he’s a stubborn old man) because our main character is exactly the same way.
but i especially love the way they wrote samdal talking to him. it tied it up so neatly that i can’t help but be impressed. by having her say word for word what he told bu mija a long time ago, after he visited her at the temple, made it seem like it was bu mija telling him that. and i think it was something he really really needed to hear. the actor did an AMAZING job at portraying the realization that he really doesn’t hate samdal, and he was too caught up in his grief that he didn’t realize other people were suffering too. so when he ran after her and seeing yongpil standing next to her,,,, bro TEARS
i just really appreciate how they handled his character because he’s not a bad person—he’s in pain and he doesn’t realize his actions are hurting people he cares about because,, he just happened to really love his wife. and the catharsis of having samdal being the reason to free him from his grudge when he was the one that deliberately kept our main couple apart just shows the intricate relationships of these families but how, at the end of the day, they still care for each other

no it’s like how if you saw someone who literally looked like your brother you wouldn’t be attracted to them.

Kind of find it irritating the way people argue that Ned was right to seek to remove Cersei’s bastards from the line of succession, but everyone should leave Rhaenyra’s bastards alone. Like I agree, they should, but I also think the only difference between Cersei’s children and Rhaenyra’s is Joffrey, for whom Tommen and Myrcella end up treated as collateral.
Like Cersei is just as entitled as Rhaenyra to have children with someone she actually wants to have children with, and the person Cersei was married to was an abusive partner - so of course she didn’t want Robert’s. Throwing Cersei’s children to the wolves to get Stannis on the throne is imo as bad as it is for Alicent/Vaemond/whoever to loudly question the Velaryon boys.

Actually the fact that the Dufferino bros could’ve so easily done the shitty but classic move of putting El in the middle of the love triangle and having the tired drama of two best friends fighting over the same girl, but INSTEAD they put MIKE in the middle and had his best friend aka another boy as one of the love interests tells me all I need to know about how much respect they have for typical heteronormative tropes lol
