Young Justice: Outsiders is the third season of Young Justice. The team will be tasked with stopping a metahuman trafficking ring, as well as dealing with the "intergalactic arms race for control of these super--powered youths." Hazbin Hotel is the story of Charlie, the princess of Hell, as she pursues her seemingly impossible goal of rehabilitating demons to peacefully reduce overpopulation in her kingdom. She opens a hotel in hopes that patients will be "checking out" into Heaven. While most of Hell mocks her goal, her devoted partner Vaggie, and their first test subject, adult film-star Angel Dust, stick by her side. When a powerful entity known as the "Radio Demon" reaches out to Charlie to assist in her endeavors, her crazy dream is given a chance to become a reality.
Gorillaz (Internet):
Tumblr media
A ten-episode show based off of the fictional band. Might not be happening apparently.

And that about covers it! Let me know if I missed any of the big ones!

Upcoming Cartoons
Infinity Train is premiering tomorrow and 2019 has seen both the ending and the beginning of a fair amount of cartoons, so I thought I’d make a list of animated shows coming out in the future.
Power Players (September 2019, Cartoon Network)
Tumblr media
The action comedy series follows Axel, an adventurous boy who transforms into a living action figure, and his unlikely team of toy heroes as they embark on the biggest “small” adventures a kid could ever imagine.
The show is made by Zagtoon, the same studio behind Miraculous Ladybug. A promo/sizzle reel can be found on YouTube.
Glitch Techs (2019, Nickelodeon)
Tumblr media
An adventure-comedy following two nearly recruited kids as they battle video game monsters that come to life in the real world.
On January 11, 2019, it was reported that production on the series was stalled and crew members were being laid off. However, Eric Robles (one of the show’s creators), took to Instagram and said stated that show had not been cancelled two days prior.
Kid Cosmic (2020, Netflix)
Tumblr media
The show centers on a young boy who dreams of becoming a hero and, when he stumbles across some cosmic stones of power, his dreams appear to have come true! Unfortunately, the reality of being a hero vs. the fantasy of being a hero are completely different and this challenge becomes the biggest battle he has to face. The kid may be the good guy, but he’s really bad at it!
The series is being produced by the legendary Craig McCracken and has yet to release any concept art or posters.
Ghostforce (2020, Disney Channel)
Tumblr media
Three high school kids working as a team of superheroes, the Ghostforce, secretly fight against the ghosts that haunt their town in a wacky, comedic fashion! With an inherit desire for trouble making, the ghosts, which are invisible to the human eye, will use fright as fuel to increase their power and ability to affect the world around them. Our heroes have no choice but to put their daily lives on hold in order to ghost power-up and restore the city to normalcy before the citizens catch on.
Another show by Zagtoon, Ghostforce stands out among their upcoming projects in that it will actually share a universe with Miraculous and is the only one so far (with the exception of Pixie Girl) confirmed to do so.
Kipo and the Age of Wonderbeasts (2020, Netflix)
Tumblr media
A young girl named Kipo, after spending her entire life living in an underground burrow, is thrust into an adventure on the surface of a fantastical post-apocalyptic Earth. She joins a ragtag group of survivors as they embark on a journey through a vibrant wonderland where everything trying to kill them is downright adorable.
The show was revealed at this year’s Annecy Festival and has a teaser available on YouTube. The VA of the main character, Karen Fukuhara, is also the VA for Glimmer on She-Ra and the Princesses of Power.
The Owl House (2020, Disney Channel)
Tumblr media
A horror-comedy series that follows Luz, a self-assured teenage human girl who accidentally stumbles upon a portal to the Demon Realm. There she befriends a rebellious witch, Eda, and an adorably tiny warrior, King. Despite not having magical abilities, Luz pursues her dream of becoming a witch by serving as Eda’s apprentice at the Owl House and ultimately finds a new family in an unlikely setting.
The series already has a teaser and the opening on available on YouTube. Also, between the series description and the creator, Dana Terrace, captioning a drawing of Eda, Luz, and King as “A mom and her kids.”, Found Family’s confirmed.
Maya and the Three (2021, Netflix)
Tumblr media
Set in a mythical Mesoamerican inspired world, a warrior princess embarks on a quest to recruit three legendary fighters to help save the world of men and gods.
This is a limited series created by Jorge Gutierrez.
The Curse of Molly McGee (TBA, Disney Channel)
Tumblr media
The series follows the unlikely paring of Molly, an optimistic girl who makes every effort to improve the world, and Scratch, a grumpy ghost who finds satisfaction in spreading misery. A magical mishap binds the ghost with the girl for eternity, and the two must find ways to work together.
The show was revealed just last month and, as a result, there isn’t much known about it.
Inside Job (TBA, Netflix)
Tumblr media
In the Department of Homeland Conspiracy, every conspiracy theory is true-- and one woman struggles to keep it all under wraps. A workplace comedy.
The show is created by Shion Takeuchi (a writer for Gravity Falls) as part of her multiyear overall deal with Netflix. Alex Hirsch is co-executive producer.
Other Stuff:
Disney TVA recently made a development deal with multiple creators, however, the only one that currently has a show in the works is Sabrina Cotugno, who worked on both SVTFOE and Owl House and is the creator of the Glass Scientists web comic.
Megan Nicole Dong is working on an untitled show for Netflix, which has been described as a “comedy-action-adventure-road trip-musical”.
According to the AMA on the SVTFOE sub-Reddit, Daron Nefcy is currently working on some “surprises”.
Also according to the AMA, Dominic Bisignano has something in the works at Warner Bros. Bisignano is one of the creators of Back to Backspace, so I think it might be a full series, but nothing is confirmed, so don’t quote me on that.

With his best friends Babs and JJ by his side, Pinky reaches for the stars in the small town of Sackenhack. Through his good spirits and sausage sensibilities, Pinky proves that a "wiener" is only one small letter away from being a "WINNER!"
Using the tropes of a mockumentary and reality show format, Pinky and his friends will talk directly to the camera and the audience to share their absurd and silly take on real life. At times, all children feel like they don't fit in and Pinky's undeniably unique point of view as a literal wiener amongst humans will allow kids to laugh at his familiar struggles and enjoy his unusual perspective on the challenges of being a school-aged kid. By always reaching for the stars, Pinky pushes himself further than anyone could imagine. Pinky and his friends' humorous experiences will also be shared across social media and Nickelodeon's digital platforms. Co-created and co-executive produced by Chris Garbutt and Rikke Asbjoern (The Amazing World of Gumball) and executive produced by Scott Kreamer (Kung Fu Panda: Legends of Awesomeness), the trio are a part of the Artist Collective, an internal diverse group of experienced creators who mentor and support up-and-coming talent while also collaborating to cultivate, challenge and inspire Nickelodeon's development pipeline. - Carmen Sandiego (January 18, 2019): Carmen Sandiego started as a video game in 1985 and ventured out into books, television, and comics. The PBS animated series Where In The World Is Carmen Sandiego? ran for 295 episodes between 1991 and 1995. Author John Peel wrote 10 Carmen Sandiego books in the '90s. DC Comics published four issues of a Carmen Sandiego comic starting in June 1996.
Believe it or not, after more than two decades Sandiego, a notorious crook, is still on the loose. Can she outrun the Netflix binge watchers? We’ll have see if Rodriguez has what it takes.
Insiders say that Netflix has ordered 20 episodes of the series, which aims to be as educational as it is entertaining, given the title character’s globetrotting adventures. The series is set to release on Netflix on January 18, 2019.
Tumblr media

The 12-episode series buy is part of Netflix’s impending wave of anime titles including Ultraman, Kengan Ashura, and season two of Aggretsuko.
Cannon Busters was created by LeSean Thomas, a storyboard artist and character designer known for his work on The Boondocks, the animated Black Dynamite series, and The Legend of Korra. Following a successful Kickstarter campaign, Netflix has bought 12 episodes, adapted from a 2003 comic of the same title.
The series was first announced at the Netflix panel at the 2018 Anime Expo and is set to release on Netflix on March 1, 2019.
Tumblr media
 - Twelve Forever (TBA): The series centers on 12-year-old Reggie, whose desire to remain a child is so powerful it creates a fantasy world in which she never has to grow up. The original pilot was first aired on Cartoon Network in 2015 and was not picked up by the network until Netflix was announced to have picked it up for a first season in December 2017 and is set to release sometime in 2019.
So that’s the stuff you can expect from the major networks (and Netflix) in terms of animation this year. Which shows are you most excited to watch this year? Here’s to an amazing 2019 full of amazing cartoons.
