OK, you know I'm not a big Japril fan (though, sadly, I can see why that's amongst the best of the shitty relationships they offered Jackson, but I digress...). It's also no secret that I think April was 95% responsible for their marriage ending - sorry, not sorry.

BUT.... I will say I felt for her when she told Jackson she needed to move out of his place after Harriet was born.

As per usual, Grey's writing leaves me baffled. The two of them sleeping together out of the freaking blue in Montana made zero sense. But to not discuss it after is lunacy. And since Jackson knows who he's dealing with (Jesus calling, y'all), you think he'd know being your housemate with a lil' fuck on the side here and there wouldn't be April's thing. So, while she's a big girl and responsible for her own actions. I did feel for her there.

Now we're moving into the Maggie phase, which also seems to have come out of nowhere. The two have no chemistry, and how anyone could find her whiny ass at all desirable is beyond me... but I'm the masochist. I'm watching this shit. lol

Of course the musicals aren’t as good as the originals, they literally put that shit together with basically no lead time. They have like days to rework that shit and record it. It’s impressive to me how they pull it off.

Okay, first of all, if you enjoy the musical episodes, you're not in a lot of company but that's cool. You're allowed to like what you like. But also

they don't rework shit!!!

They throw in a couple of badly swapped words to greenlit it past S&P but that's literally it. No keys are changed, no songs are assigned to characters with similar journeys to their musical counterparts, no vocal coaches are brought in to help the actors sing in a proper key, nothing. Nada. Jack squat.

And regarding them not having time, they....do have time? They to my understanding don't just randomly decide to do a musical episode. There is extra filming for them, the musical episodes are later in the season so they absolutely have time to get ready, and still...the keys are awful, the singers sound terrible even with copious autotune and they know (I assure you they know) that the musicals are the lowest rated episodes. I definitely think that's the reason they didn't promo American Psycho as a musical episode.

Again, if you like it, fine. But "impressive" is a very generous word to use for the musical episodes.

So, I rewatched the 4th and 5th Pirates of the Caribbean movies because I was bored and in a mood and wanted to see if they were as bad as I remember. (I'd only seen each of them once.)

4th is actually not as bad as I recall. It's certainly not good, but it's not terrible. It has some good moments, and decent acting.

5th is exactly as bad as I remember. It's just terrible. So much of it doesn't make sense or is out of character or ignores previously established lore, some of it even established within the movie itself. I cringed so many times at the jokes or the plot twists or the supposed cool action scenes. It's just. So. Bad. The only kind of good bit is the Barbossa and daughter plot, but it wasn't given half the time or focus it should have been.

the funniest meltdown ive ever had was in college when i got so overstimulated that i could Not speak, including over text. one of my friends was trying to talk me through it but i was solely using emojis because they were easier than trying to come up with words so he started using primarily emojis as well just to make things feel balanced. this was not the Most effective strategy... until. he tried to ask me "you okay?" but the way he chose to do that was by sending "👉🏼👌🏼❓" and i was so shocked by suddenly being asked if i was dtf that i was like WHAT????
