I know like geographically it does not make any sense but I’m mashing up this costal village place I love with this highland town we used to visit in summers and getting a lando/Oscar summer au. I’m thinking about like bored, teenager Oscar who lives (?) in this tiny seaside town nd works in this old school slightly shitty arcade, fully planning on spending a sweltering summer in his glass box doling out change nd giving the machines the “turn it off nd back on” treatment before he meets city boy Lando who’s there for the summer and fucking bored out his tits with dodgy wifi & no signal. Lando latches onto him as one of the only people there over age 5 and under the age 40 nd spends ages chatting/flirting his way past Oscars deadpan, no interest but hiding a smile interactions until they get a conversation going.

Leads to Lando spending dayyss in the arcade, sometimes playing the penny drop machine but mostly leaning against the glass window chatting. (omg winning like a fucking friendship bracelet or necklace or really cliche koala key chain for Oscar who is like ?? Dude I stock the machines ((but at some point he wins/steals the matching one for Lando))

Ofc Lando has charmed every shopkeeper in the high-street (inc the dog in the sweetie shop) and they get so much freedom bc there is basically no way to get into trouble. I want a summer romance. Long days at the beach, seeing each other shirtless and doing the “boys will be boys” wresting in the (let’s still be realistic, freezing) sea, doing the “is he interested, is he gay???” internal panic. Walking the costal paths and wee lanes and forest paths, talking and laughing. Finally making out in the sand traps on the golf course (maybe they were cutting through and a greenkeeper saw them or they were sitting in the bunker drinking and got interrupted so had to dive on top of each other to hide and end up face to face, staring into each others eyes nd that’s when it happens) I want a love confession in a small, rusty kids play park at 10pm when they’re tipsy off cheap cider and it’s all summer hazy light. I actually want the whole thing in that summer evening light nd blurry sunny Polaroids. That’s the vibe (I’d say like a late 90s/early 00s setting but realistically most seaside towns still have that vibe anyway). ANYWAY that’s my Monday night thoughts ✨✨

-so, as for what you and freminet got lynette...

-you got her a fancy dress, some cute hair clips, and a cat plushie, that looked like her!

-you were confident that she'd like it.

-and as for lyney...

-a bouquet of flowers. roses. all kinds, all types, roses.

-lynette and freminet told you that his favorite flowers are roses but told you to blame it on the little birdie.

-you, separately, also bought him a fuzzy warm red blanket, but sprayed your perfume/cologne on it, so it reminded him of you.

-while the both of you bought him his favorite candy, to which you were sure he would love!

-and finally, you and lynette planned out a perfect date for you and him.

-this is how it went...

-"hey, lynette, so i thought about bringing him to an expensive date with me, what do you say?" you asked her while sipping your tea.

-"how expensive are we talking? $100-$200 or like you eat money for lunch?" she asked, glancing at you from behind the teacup.

-"happy birthday!" you and freminet jumped out when they came in, blasting the confetti everywhere.

-he was so caught off guard that he had no mask on anymore. pure shock.

-"woah... thank you, you two." lynette added. she's usually there with a neutral expression on her face, but she was surely surprised this time.

-so, after talking a bit and eating some cake...

why "the outsiders" is one of the best shows i've ever seen

i loved every second of this show, so here's all my favorite parts!!

ALSO Trevor Wayne (u/s Ponyboy) was on for my show, and it was his Broadway debut, so that mixed with this only being their fourth official show after debuting on Broadway this past Thursday (they've been in previews for a few weeks) made for SUCH a good show atmosphere, the vibes were immaculate, and Trevor was a phenomenal Ponyboy.

Also, I got to stagedoor, and the cast was SO incredibly kind!!! I love stagedoors when the cast is just made up of the nicest group of people ever

Act 1

the COSTUMES OHHH MY GOD

and the set is so cool???

the fight choreo is something i could talk about forever and ever

in general, the music has a very folk/country vibe to it, which fits SO well since it takes place in oklahoma!!

"grease got a hold" was so fun, i loved the idea that you become an official greaser after getting through your first fight with the socs

the show in general is such a good balance of quotes directly from the book and original lines!

i love that they made Dally another big brother figure to Ponyboy, because it just adds so much to the tension between Darry and Ponyboy

additionally, making Dally the leader of the gang while Darry's trying to stay away from that world... such a good change

Johnny and Pony are the best friends ever omg

Ace my beloved 😭😭 i'm usually hesitant about new characters being added but i love her so much

i was afraid they'd make her like an Anybodys copy, but she was SUCH a good fit within the group, and her relationships and interactions with them all felt so natural

btw she and Steve are siblings that is my hc they're brother and sister your honor!!!

"Great Expectations" had the stage completely blacked out except for spotlights on each of the outsiders gang when i tell you i was emotional

Having Johnny present for the scene when Darry slaps Ponyboy is such a smart decision, especially since he's the one who grabs Ponyboy and gets them out of the house

Having the silhouettes of Soda and Darry during Johnny and Pony's duet, and Darry just sitting so defeated on the floor hurt me ngl

There were effects when Ponyboy was being drowned where it was like we were underwater as well, and everyone else was just moving silently. SO well done

the scene where Johnny stabs Bob was insane- there were blackouts, and people were moving in slow motion, and it was so perfectly overwhelming

God, the entire ending sequence was incredibly with the set pieces!! and in general, the effects were so good

also Dally is such an overprotective brother to BOTH Johnny and Pony

Act 2

The harmonies in this show. This is such a strong ensemble cast, and they're so powerful during the group numbers

"Death's at my Door" made me fucking sob????? Johnny and Pony being each other's reason to live??? Them staying alive just to make sure the other is safe???

Have I mentioned how much I love that Dally sees Pony and Johnny as his little brothers?? Because I love it so so much

Darry and Dally's arguments, and Dally making good points on why he's close with Ponyboy hurt SO much because Darry's trying his best

Ohhhh Darry is speaking to my soul he really is the parentified older sibling ever

But also "Throwing in the Towel" being similar to "Death's at my Door", with Sodapop begging Darry not to give up, because he loves him, and recognizes what he does for them??? And Ponyboy joining in at the end from the church??

Dally immediately hugging Ponyboy and Johnny when they reunite at the church 😭

"Soda's Letter" made me cry violently but that's nothing new

"Hoods turned Heroes" was actually so cute, the greasers were so excited and proud of Pony and Johnny

but the tonal shift at the end when Dally carried Johnny in all bandaged up??

a little miffed we didn't see the Curtis brothers reuniting ngl, but that's the only thing i wish they added in

THE FUCKING RUMBLE WAS SO GOOD HOLY SHIT

I do love how all the greasers were present for JOhnny's death, because it just solidifies how they're a family

Joshua Boone as Dally destroyed me. He perfectly showed how Johnny was Dally's entire world

and GOD them changing Dally's death to suicide by straight up stepping onto the train tracks and getting hit by a train was...

Just how empty and lost Ponyboy was after everyone died, and how desperate Soda and Darry were to get him to at least eat something, they portrayed that grief and trauma so well

"Stay Gold" 😭😭😭😭😭

Literally could not stop sobbing during that song, everyone around me was crying

There was such a perfect balance between Pony's narration and the show itself, and there were moments where he broke the fourth wall, mainly by looking at Soda and Johnny during their letters, and it just made for such an emotional impact

Darry asking to read Pony's story 😭😭 showing his support, and Pony being absolutely shocked but so happy 😭😭

also when Darry and Pony tell each other they love each other 😭😭 sobbing violently i love familial reconciliation

I was just an emotional wreck the entire finale, it was so beautiful

and the implication that instead of writing an essay, Ponyboy wrote "The Outsiders" in-universe 😭😭

It takes Akk two missed dates (complete with unlikely excuses) to figure out what’s going on.

Aye loves lying about stupid shit for no reason- No, there’s always a reason, it’s just always stupid as hell. The first time Akk figured that was his birthday after high school, but of course then there was the college incident.

Two months of Aye earnestly insisting he was going to miss Akk when they were studying in different countries, two months of Akk wistfully checking timezone websites and flight times, also a few weeks of being concerned about what his roommate would be like, all culminating in Aye’s Latest Fucking Surprise.

(“Hi, roomie, I’m called Aye, I-“

“Really.”

“Yes! That’s my name! I’m a first year to-“

“-Aye,” trying to suppress the smile because he really is annoyed by this bullshit.

Blinking, wide innocent eyes, “Don’t get a crush on me, I actually have a boyfriend.”)

So, when he realises that Aye was absolutely not out picking Thua’s birthday present the time he forgot their plans to see Wat’s latest production – three weeks after Thua’s last birthday – he doesn’t jump to any negative conclusions. It takes effort, of course, because Akk’s brain still hates him and he still has problems with the idea that people like him on purpose, but.

They’re both working, now, and after last year their schedules are actually starting to be kind of manageable; that’s why there have been multiple dates for Aye to forget.

Okay, yeah, the time Kan (operating under orders) had decided to “stealthily” measure the circumference of all Akk’s fingers is a clue, too.

And Kan’s working as Aye’s operative, under orders from Thua, because he’s a traitor.

Luckily, there’s one person Aye will never be able to compromise, and he’s the best person they know at gathering information.

He picks up the phone.

On the first ring, Namo answers, “Hey, Akk! What’s up? Do you think the raise is going to come through?”

“Who told you about me asking for a- Never mind. I know Aye’s planning something – probably big and specific. Can you find out-“

“Location and time? I’m on it. Oh, by the way, I sent a new collar for Singto, did it arrive yet?”

It’s impossible to get off the phone with Namo in under an hour unless you just hang up; Akk’s asking for a favour, so he won’t do that.

Actually… he’s asking for two.

There’s another piece of information Namo needs to get for him.

Even though he has his own plan now – still a secret, he’s pretty sure, because he knows Aye’s tells by now – he sometimes can’t resist needling Aye.

Biting his lip and trying to seem more sad than he is barely suppressing glee, Akk pouts at his apologetic boyfriend and asks, “Am I being too needy? If we need to go on fewer dates-“

“-No, no, I was just busy with- Thua’s present, it’s a big one,” Aye says, clearly relieved to have remembered an excuse from earlier. “I’m only a little late, right?”

Akk nods as solemnly as he can and says, “If you’re sure… but we could go on fewer and make each one bigger. Like… like the summer after high school.”

The guilt on Aye’s face freezes and he peers at Akk.

Guileless. He has to be guileless. Akk blinks back, trying not to laugh. There were fewer dates that summer… and multiple big surprises. But he’s only making the first connection, right, Aye?

Blink.

Head tilt.

Aye’s suspicious squint deepens.

Then the moment passes; Aye shakes his head rapidly and says, “We don’t need to. It won’t happen again.”

“Okay,” Akk agrees peaceably.

It won’t; the wedding won’t be a surprise, for sure.

…

When Namo gets back to him with a date, Akk thanks him profusely and sends him several dozen photos of Singto in the various outfits Namo’s bought him over the years, then checks his own calendar.

He’s got that day off, of course, but the day before is a holiday, so…

The day before that. It’s two days before, so Aye’s going to be able to salvage his plans for a party instead; it’s still close enough that it’ll really frustrate him.

Perfect.

They’re cuddling in bed.

Aye’s nuzzling the back of Akk’s neck, and his hair is tickling Akk’s cheek; Aye decided to grow it out in their senior year, and Akk approves of this decision.

He’s very cute in the headbands he wears for workouts.

But he’s not dressed for a workout, now, because they’re both naked – unless Akk’s boyfriend-slash-backpack, spooning him like a koala, counts as clothing. It’s something they’ve debated before.

Akk votes clothes.

That’s not super important; what’s important is the kisses Aye’s pressing to the back of Akk’s neck, and the afterglow, and the way their position means Akk can reach out his right hand to the bedside table and open the drawer.

“Again?” Aye smiles into his neck.

Akk does a fake-considering hum and takes Aye’s left hand in his own, stroking it with a thumb, before saying, “Maybe in a minute. Something to do first.”

“Hm?”

He giggles to himself, can’t help it.

Aye’s smile against him twitches, fond amusement at Akk, but he still doesn’t guess. His eyes must be closed.

So, Akk opens the box, takes it out, and pulls Aye’s hand further over.

“What do you think?” he asks, slipping onto Aye’s finger. “Does it fit?”

Because of their position, Akk can feel the moment his boyfriend stops breathing. It makes him giggle again.

“Akk.”

“Hmm?”

“Akk,” Aye demands, unwrapping from around him and sitting up.

He rolls onto his back and looks up at Aye, who is staring at his own hand, eyes wet.

“Oh, yeah,” he remembers. “Also. Do you want to marry me?”

Still staring, Aye says, “It does fit. How does it fit – did that asshole tip you off?”

Akk sits up too and puts an arm around Aye’s waist, pulls him in, and kisses his shoulder.

“You were keeping secrets,” he reminds him. “What else could it be?”

“Asshole, you did this on purpose,” Aye accuses.

“Mm!” Akk hums into his shoulder. “Well?”

Pushing him onto his back, Aye twists in Akk’s hold until they’re facing each other and says, “You’re the fucking worst.”

“Don’t try to keep secrets,” Akk laughs. “We talked about this in college. Will you marry me?”

Topical post: days are rolling by. at variable pace.my thoughts are cycling the same track of sorts. So i’m mostly set on what i’m getting, however i failed to account that i am aggressively average at wrapping and presentation. Was so sure i got the hardest part out of the way just to curb myself again. I’ll see what i can strap together. Also i gotta pack, so i can see how i’ll arrange all my stuff and all that jazz. Lest i be halfway to hell on the midnight of black trying to play reverse “unpacking: the video game” i’ll figure something out at least. Probably.

I have an odd mix of anticipation, anxiety, and excitement with this upcoming trip. Concerned about flights and potential mishaps, curious about innumerable things, and excited to have the 1 week trial. It’s a hurricane of feelings but it’s nothing i think i have to be particularly wary or conscious of. pretty normal tbh, this bananas.

Been thinking a great deal about how i want my hair. Originally i was gonna dye it on my birthday but i just retwisted and washed it and it’s like, i do NOT wanna do ts again. so its gotta wait for after my next wash, which might actually be soon i could possibly get dye it on my birthday, and then go to the concert with and trip with that hair. Then with styling, idk if i want twist, braid, or curl/knot out. Unfortunately imo they’re inversely proportional to how good i think they look on me, and how easy they are to do/keep for a while. TO’s with two strands are super easy but like, i kinda don’t like that twist out too much? it’s really whatever to me. BO’s though, they give a Wayyyyy better result in the wave pattern, love the way they come out and stay, they give locs an organic cute squiggle as opposed to the craig sharp coil from a TO. CO’s clear so easily on the looks chart though. They start of tight like a loose medusa-esque curl, then they unravel over time and set into this perfect sort of fall and flick up/around sort of look on the hair. a sort of perfect storm in good looking messy hair. but the knots, curls i have to do are so tedious and also hard to make sure they stay in place. Also they make me look like i never got locs. While i can appreciate that look a bit , i think i (and most people) look way better with longer hair. I’ll figure it out ig, but sitting somewhere between the braid and curl/knot style. Really wanna try those and see how long they last now that i have this mousse.

Wondering what kind of in between and lounge activities will be done. What games/shows watched aside from the expected. How/where’s the “whatever” lie down time and a lot gonna be. How late are we gonna wake up or stay up. And will i be physiologically pacific in that regard as well? or do i just adapt with the sunlight since it’s close enough. Nothing i know, but spend too much time trying to picture. Considering it’s coming right up and i don’t need to waste the film in my cranial imax screeening(radical dome).

Not much else i really think i’ve been thinking about( memorably) between my free time at least. Mostly ricocheting between thinking about work and school, and then making sure i’m on time for those and my other stuff. So sometimes i don’t get to spend time discerning what all this means in my head. Like today i clocked out and was like “ ah free to think about whatever” and my first thought was that i’m gonna be back in 12 hours 😭. The cheese is slipping off my cracker. Big cum is cracking my shell and they’re gonna make me a garden variety best buy geeky gooner (crazy chain of words and false trait attribution)

A long ass list ー All of my Chiba headcanons that I brainrot a lot about (Part 4)

Though it's mostly about him and his tuxedo cat :3

Even though I've already officially discontinued TARGET ON, but I'm continuing this series because I just love this boy so much 😭💕

Also this specific list is a bit more compliant to the Motley Crew AU, where Chiba has lower tolerance towards bullshit, so...

He has an entire playground of cat wall shelves covering 3/4 of his bedroom's walls and the hallway just outside of his room that Chiba himself had installed according to Mr. Popo's best interest, who likes running and bouncing off walls when occasionally releasing pent up energy.

Two of the shelves were perched just near both sides of his room's doorknob, so Mr. Popo can just reach for the lever whenever he wishes to enter or leave.

For some reason, Mr. Popo knows exactly when Chiba is having a difficult time studying (aka biology) and thus bothers him the whole time, like laying onto his opened textbooks or swishing his tail at Chiba's nose.

A major contributing factor to Chiba's declining grades in his second year 😭.

Because Chiba spent years always talking to him since he was a kitten, Mr. Popo easily grew up to be an extremely talkative cat, always meowing back at every audible sound he hears Chiba makes.

Chiba would play a note on the electric guitar and Mr. Popo will sometimes imitate the sound in near accuracy. It kinda became an occasional minigame between them.

The Chiba family have done a lot of family pictorials the past near two decades, usually when children (and pets) are of certain ages. Ryuunosuke so far had two photoshoots with Mr. Popo - the first week since Mr. Popo had been adopted into the family and just after Ryuunosuke's 15th birthday.

If Mr. Popo lives long enough, the third one will be when he gets to be in Ryuunosuke's pre-wedding photoshoot, with the bowtie and everything that makes him the distinguished gentlecat that he is.

Chiba will use every opportunity that Mr. Popo's absolute diva-ness brings so he could diss others unprovoked and get away with it.

Chiba: *shows Okajima's math notes to Mr. Popo* What do you think?

Mr. Popo: meow

Chiba: He says you're stupid.

Mr. Popo was obsessed with dairy products in general, Chiba found out when he caught him dipping one of his paws into the opened cheese spread jar he was just using. Since then, every once in 2-3 weeks Chiba would scoop up a spoonful of cheese spread for Mr. Popo to enjoy.

For a cat who's supposedly sensitive to the cold, Mr. Popo really likes ice cream for some reason. Whenever Chiba gets ice cream, it's a must to leave enough for Mr. Popo to finish the rest of.

At the third last page of Kunugigaoka's Gossip Magazine, there's a mass-voted ranking of the ten most intimidating students in school. Ever since the magazine was first published, there has never been a month when Chiba wasn't included in the rankings.

He can smell someone's bullshit from a mile and he absolutely detests it when people talk in circles. For someone who almost never communicates his own personal problems, Chiba has built quite a reputation for being so confrontational that he would have been in trouble if he wasn't always right about the things he's fighting for.

If Chiba confronts someone about something, best assume that he already knows what goes on and the stupidest mistake one can make is lie to his face.

As such, because he's so observant, Chiba can tell when someone is lying and will call them out for it.

But when he feels like being a menace, he'd just nod along with the most knowing smile present, until he thinks it's time to bring up a known fact that didn't add up to what the person was lying about.

Despite the kind of infamy he has, a lot of his schoolmates still remember Chiba as a prominently kind person who actively helps out anyone when he can. The fear just mostly comes from not wanting to be on the receiving end of his cold wrath.

He's basically a formidable debate opponent. It's just that he is always guaranteed to win and he knows that.

Music is an outlet and performance is a release. Chiba attends high-energy concerts to release pent up stress and emotion while basking in the music he likes. Metal festivals are the common option.

It's not a surprise for him to leave a concert venue with a bruise or two, or in a rarer case, a bloody nose. The small price he has to pay for affordable therapy.

But since he usually attends school the next morning, this does... unhelpfully stir up a new set of not-really-good rumours about him in school.

Hence, he never drops out of the scary students rankings lol.

Despite their common verbal clashes, he actually likes Nakamura and lowkey finds her pretty, but Chiba could never think about having her as a romantic partner.

The reason simply being them as a couple will be "extremely hazardous to mankind" that Korosensei's existence would be the last of everyone's worries.

Nakamura agrees... which is worrying enough.

Okajima is the first to get a taste of how that nightmare would be like... since Chiba and Nakamura basically ganged up on him throughout their entire trip in Kyoto.

If he's way too bored, the worst thing Chiba could do was to start an argument out of nowhere, then slowly leave himself out of the conversation just so he could watch as chaos unfolds while making it seem like he had nothing to do with it.

Chiba officially takes up two of the seven wonders of Kunugigaoka: his eyes and the secret identity of D.R.E.A.M.'s Lead Guitarist-kun.

He's an adrenaline junkie who likes taking extreme risks. Skydiving is in his bucket list.

Chiba definitely liked mecha anime (especially the gundam franchise) and superhero comics as a kid. He probably got his parents to buy him the kind of toys that had to be assembled. It was where he got his liking for building things, which later turned into a dream job.

He still keeps the old toys he had assembled as sort of collective figures, safe inside his large glass display cabinet, much to Mr. Popo's chargin.

The display cabinet is also where he stores his growing collection of physical music albums, old dvds of the shows he liked, and a decent stash of comic books he had amassed growing up.

Although not as prominent as when he was a kid, still liking superheroes to this day is a pretty strong guilty pleasure of his. No matter how accepting he knows others would be, Chiba will never involve himself in any conversation involving superheroes or anything related.

He just has interests that he'd be thrilled to share with others, and interests he'd rather keep to himself.

Like how he likes punk music and will even cause an entire civil war against Nakamura just to get his point across that the genre isn't the pure noise she wrongfully claimed it was.

And how he actually likes the sonic ninja franchise but he didn't join Karma and Nagisa in their trip to Hawaii with Korosensei to watch the new movie in advance since he prefers no one knowing about it.

If Korosensei ever knows about it, no he doesn't.

While he never minds close spaced noises, if everyone present in the auditorium are being too loud, especially when they need to be quietened down, Chiba is the type to scream, in the most demonic manner as possible, into the microphone he just snatched at max volume just to make everybody shut up.

A bit extreme but it works every time, so who cares?

Among his siblings, Chiba receives the highest allowance money from their parents. Although dropping to Class E isn't something to be rewarded for, Chiba still does most of the labour work in the house. Also, the worst his studies had gotten after dropping to Class E was to rank averagely among his grade, which then had continued to rise until he's in the Top 10 at the end of the final term. So, it's a fair trade.

His parents also hardly bat an eye whenever Chiba comes home with a brand new electric guitar behind his back. Ever since he sold the vintage gibson les paul that was given to him by his cousin and was paid nearly a million yen for it, Chiba's parents decided that he wasn't really wasting money on his hobby if the guitars he buys are worth enough to be resold if he ever grows out of them.

His mother named him 'Ryuunosuke' because his eyes were the most unique pair she had ever laid her eyes on. She just didn't think that society would do her son wrong for the same reason. Thankfully, Ryuunosuke didn't grow to be insecure about the origin of his given name.

And the list makes another comeback!

Hi people~! Sorry for the inactivity the past week. I just got back to working full time in my designing job again, so it was very difficult to even find time to draw a something, let alone do my usual rendered illustrations.

But I'm desperately hoping that I'd find enough time to do something for Chiba's birthday next month... considering how inactive I was the last time I got busy with work. His birthday is seriously the only event I'd never let pass without doing something for him, after all. 😭
