Weekend with the Grays: Supper time at Winbourne

Luckily, Nadia was back to normal after taking it easy yesterday. She spent the day mostly napping and chit-chatting with her boyfriend, Jesse. Selina Fawley, on the other hand was a little bit of uncomfortable. During the dinner, she stayed close to Marty, but once the men went on their separate ways, she was left alone with the ladies. And really, she wasn't close to them. Except for Vinnie Wakefield who decided to join the party last minute. Selina felt happy to know that at least one of her close hufflepuff friends made it. So you bet, Selina did follow her around like a lost puppy!

Prompt #12: Regrets

Prompt 12: Miss the Boat - FFXIV Write 2022  Characters: Talia, mentions of Okuni, Jadias, Caedh, & Idristan.

When one lived their life as hard and fast as possible, regret became a thing that was set aside. There was no time for second guessing choices when every choice might be your very last. There was no room for the mire of regret and the sorrow that came with wondering about the road that had never been traveled. 

Except what then, when someone who lived hard and fast suddenly found themselves not looking at the potential for a few years, but epochs, and millennium. When time stretched out endlessly in front of them, each new day carrying with it an unspoken promise for lifetimes worth of tomorrows?

"...not having regrets, are you?" 

It was odd then, that Okuni’s words still lingered in her mind, moons later. What had started her thinking about it, she wasn’t sure. If asked later, she might still not be certain what had drawn her attention and focus to the place it had decided to linger for the evening. 

They had been talking about the Phoenix King, and Talia had mentioned that she had been propositioned before. That if she had never ended up with Caedh, she might have been interested in seeing what would happen there. Her reply to Okuni, of course, had been no, and it had been the answer that was truest in her heart of hearts. She had no regrets in choosing Caedh. Not now, and not then, either.

"My brother's consort."

But then, her relationship with Caedh had always been an unusual sort of thing. In behavior that was contradictory to everything else that Talia held true to her values, she had refused Jade’s advances, repeatedly. Courtesy, she had claimed. It was out of courtesy for her bond with Caedh. A courtesy she didn’t extend in almost any other way.

She'd kept her original lover throughout her initial time bound to the Night Prince. It was strange even to her, the way she had tried to respect a boundary of Caedh’s that she hadn’t even asked if he had. Perhaps she was afraid of his reaction. Maybe she just didn't want to know he didn't care. The illusion had been nice, while it lasted.

It was funny, how much of her existence was now mired in with Caedh and who and what he was. All that she was as Twilight, came from him. All that she was as a fae was entangled with his very existence. Some of her first experiences with a love that not only took, but gave, came from her time with him. 

It had been a game, just a fae amusement. Until it hadn’t. The fact that their first real meeting had come at the end of the barrel of a gun was still one such amusement that they shared. A thing that was laughed about. That was teased about. That was turned into a friction between them. Him, with the gun to his skin, her, with her finger on the trigger. 

"Take what you want."

It was a funny thing, how close that they had come to simply not happening at all. It was a good thing then, that her instinct and her power knew better than her doubting mind. That it understood what it was she needed even when everything else in her didn't want to allow it. 

Magic sparked around her fingertips, drifted in the air around her like a thing alive. It had chosen for her. It had pushed her in every direction she needed to go. To find who she was meant to be with. To teach her that she could be more than she was. In helping find the fluidity that was so inherent to her nature. In choosing Caedh, her magic led her to Idristan.

"I choose you."

How near a miss it might have all been, if she had made one slightly different decision. Opportunity had almost passed her by. They had almost passed her by.

No. Rather than put her energy towards regret, she had decided to put the whole of herself to gratitude. Some of the best things in her life had come from a road almost not traveled, a boat almost missed. 

Talia glanced up and around her apartment–all locked up–and reached to turn off the light on the wall. The flick of the switch plunged the room into darkness, filled a moment later with the gathering sparkle of stars that opened the pathway for her to go home.

As7 Ep4

Okay this was one of the worst/most boring challenges drag race has done. It Dragged on and on. No spoilers the winners did fine but like no one stood out and im not gunna remember any of it.

BUT the runways were probable some of my favorites. The runways this season have honestly all been amazing.

The real Big Baddie in The Ones Who Live was… Rick.

No one was more dangerous.

Not Beale

Not Okafor

Not Jadis

Not Thorne

Just think about Rick MFing Grimes in that position of power in the CRM, indoctrinated to believe he was doing the right thing to save his family. It would be like equipping the CRM with a nuclear weapon.

It took Okafor 8 years to break Rick down and at that moment divine intervention aka Michonne took out Okafor. If that is not a sign I don’t know what is.

This was never about Beale and the CRM being the baddies. It was about how even someone like Rick could succombe to dark forces like Jadia and Thorne before him.

Michonne literally pushing him out of the helicopter for a time out saved the world. She worked so hard to bring him back to his senses. Although, everyone is kee kee-ing over the kissing and love scenes it is not gratuitous because it was love that grounds Rick.

Once he finally opened his eyes he was angry in himself that he lost so much time and disgusted that he ever thought it was a viable option.

That’s the arc reviewers say is missing. It was never Beale. Beale was noting more than the C plot character .

"this here, is my girl, and baby, this here, is Emma." He said, his voice sounding so up-lifting once he introducedyou to her but as soon as he said her name, his voice dropped to a monotone, sounding almost uninterested.

"but it clearly shows how you've been ignoring him speaking to you and telling you he was taken? funny." You mumbled, clearly irritated from this Emma girl.

Weekend with the Grays: The welcome ball

Selina Fawley was a pure-blooded witch who attended a lot of boring galas. She knew many people in the room due to her family. This time, however, for the first time ever she decided to be selfish and just have fun. She spent the whole event with her soon-to-be husband, Marty. They danced together during the whole night! Selina felt happier than ever (and the prettiest in her blue dress, under her fiancé's loving glares).

With Primrose's fake smiles, Nadia felt nervous. She was determined to make her best friend happy so the first thing she did, was to steal her and bring her to the dance floor. Jesse knew Nadia's plan and he was very understanding! Nadia prepared two dresses for the night. After she finished her dance with Primrose, she changed into a gorgeous white dress. Jesse then gently invited her back into the crowd and they had a great time together.
