I think it's a lovely idea!!! That said, I'm the worst person to ask because I don't really follow that many people, I follow blogs who reblog other Encanto blogs. But I'm still going to try.

@omgcheez Look. If there's new Encanto content, merchandising, comics, whatever, you'll find it here first. It's always interesting to read his headcanons and comments about the characters and on top of that he makes cute drawings.

@pepa-brainrot I can't say enough about how much I love his art style, the Madrigal look beautiful. Pepa looks gorgeous! If I am sad I look at this drawing of Pepa smiling and I feel better.

Since we are talking about her, @cloudy-encanto is Pepa herself and not just because of her incredible cosplay and the videos she makes, she is like a ray of sunshine when you talk to her. Fics, 3D art, an amazing animation she did for EBB. Just... Wow.

When do you think Encanto takes place?

Based on tweets from Jared Bush I tend to assume the main story takes place in 1950, but the whole place has been cut off from the outside world since the miracle 50 years earlier. Their fashion and technology are from around the turn of the century.

I assume Bruno’s gift is the only reason he knows what telenovelas are. He’s never watched an actual TV. His football rat theatre scene is of a specific goal that Colombia scored against Germany in the 1990 World Cup.

The tune Agustín plays on the piano is “En Barranquilla Me Quedo” and was first released in 1988. I think either Agustín learned it from Bruno or it’s artistic licence. They were trying to cram as many Colombian things as possible into the film, even if some were anachronistic.

In one of my fics I posited a magical shop that sells goods that they can’t manufacture locally, such as books. (I mean, they could have their own printing press, but they would be short on texts to print.) So now if I spot something that seems too modern I just assume it comes from there.

Encanto: Madrigal Family Relationship Analysis Part 1 - Mirabel and Antonio

The above gif says it all. They are each other’s safety net and the one they can be most vulnerable with. They have shared the nursery for five years, which is all of Antionio’s life. To him, she’s the greatest person in the world. In Mirabel’s own words, he’s the world’s best roomie. They were my first analysis because, like many other people in the fandom, their relationship was my favorite of the entire Madrigal family. And Jared Bush tweeted that since Antonio was born after Mirabel’s gift ceremony, he doesn’t see her as the “giftless” one just the loving and empathetic cousin he loves very much and is his main role model. He doesn’t see her an embarrassment or cautionary tale, just his beloved hermana (yes, i know their cousins, but come on, they’re more like siblings). And Mirabel never grew jealous of him getting nor did she take out her frustrations out on him, she just loves him with all her heart. On WickedBinge (on YouTube, I highly suggest checking it out), Mirabel’s relationship with Antonio was ranked as the healthiest for her. And I agree with that.

How much effort does her strength usually take? When the miracle is at full strength can she keep going and going? Also do you have any headcanons about how much fighting within the family impacts her strength day to day? Like will she get tired more easily if she had an argument directly before?

The tweets Jared Bush has published so far heavily imply that the Encanto's gifts are stronger when the family OR the person using their gift is emotionally healthy/happy.

Effort: Muscles are grown because they 'break' every time you work out, so Luisa has put so much effort into building her muscle mass. She works out every day.

Miracle at full strength: Luisa does not get tired physically. She has to be told to rest or she keeps going until she collapses.

How much in-family fighting impacts her strength?: Very much. Luisa needs to be in balance if she wants to be at her best. So any form of negativity will have an effect on her. Which is why she strives to mediate between family members. She's a peacemaker.

If Luisa just had an argument with someone, she will still be able to lift the church, but she'll be too emotional and won't want to lift the church. x)

Hi there! I have a personal theory about Bruno's gift based on a tweet by Jared Bush. He mentioned that Bruno's visions can vary based on how specific the future he's looking for is. A lot of the visions he has for the townspeople tended to have more cut and dry outcomes (dead fish, weight gain, hairloss, etc), but when it came to Mirabel's vision, the outcome wasn't so cut and dry because the question of "what's wrong with the magic/why didn't Mira get a gift?" doesn't have a simple answer since it's part of a much larger problem ie. generational trauma leading to a dysfunctional family dynamic that is slowly breaking apart at the seams and inevitably ends with everything falling apart around them.

Bruno's visions can't tell you *why* something is going to happen, only what *will* happen. Personally I don't think the vision changing meant there was more than one outcome, but showing the eventual breaking and repairing of the house/family with Mirabel at its center, but in a pretty limited way.

I have read some theories like that a lot in the last few days and I like them all. Kinda wish we'd get more definite answers in a series maybe and also kinda wish we won't so we can keep guessing and put our spin on it.

But awesome Theorie OP! I can definitely see that!
