My first TMA fanart I’ve posted! I think I’m going to do a series of this drawing, with a different background for each of the different fears! Let me know if you’d be interested in seeing that potentially 👀

Jon with hands so scarred they constantly twitch and shiver from nerve damage
Jon with hands so cold they're always tucked into a sweater or around a hot mug
Jon who flinches when Martin takes his hand but clings tightly and is never the first to let go lest he lose the connection the warmth the humanity

Jonathan Sims getting compared to an injured little lamb. Scared so much by the calliope music he can barely stand. Got punched and strangled by Daisy as he whimpered and begged pathetically.
Like, he’s so delicious? My god I want this man to cry and beg and suffer but I want to give him a bath and feed him as well help.

You get a new job. The pay isn't great. Your co-workers are your ex and a workaholic. You get nightmares from The Horrors. You just got an email from a cryptid. The IT guy wants to fistfight you.

Haha. Hahaha.
[ID: Alternating excerpts from the transcripts of The Magnus Protocol episode 11 and The Magnus Archives episode 112 and 67.
1.
Gwen: I thought he was going to kill me!
Lena: But he didn’t, which means you’ve passed the first part of your probation. Congratulations. Did you scream?
2.
(Elias): congratulations. You’re doing a lot better than I expected.
Archivist: Feels like all I’ve managed to do is… not die.
Elias: And believe me, that is a remarkably rare skill.
3.
Gwen: I don’t understand.
Lena: Yes, you do.
Beat.
Gwen: But… why?
Lena: “Why” comes later. For now, it’s best you try to process the “what.” I’ll let you know when I have another liaison assignment for you.
4.
Archivist: So you obviously know how to stop it. You could just tell me!
Elias: I could. But I believe that if I did so, you would fail. The Stranger is antithetical to us.
[The Archivist sighs heavily]
5.
Gwen (defeated): I… Ok.
Gwen opens the door.
Lena: Oh, and Gwen?
Gwen: Yes?
Lena: Get some sleep. You look dreadful.
6.
Archivist: Of course, of course. Understood.
Elias: And for God’s sake, get some sleep.
End ID]
Thank you @princess-of-purple-prose for the ID!

Thinking about Agnes Montague, Gerard Keay and Jonathan Sims. All chosen ones, in their own way. All intended by those who decided they were a chosen one to bring on the end of days. Or die trying. Or die while succeeding. They were only as valuable as their potential. Only worth what they could give.
And death was their only escape from those expectations.
Agnes had her church hang her.
Gerry died and then had Jon burn his page.
Jon had Martin kill him.
I just think there's something about them. Something about them all being doomed in such similar ways.
