Gai in the TMS au is like Naruto and Sakura at the start of Shippuden, whenever he hears Kakashi's name he gets all depressed like when the two of them hear Sasuke's name

Oh jeez just the thought hurts my heart.

One minute Gai is burst with energy. All smiles with so many things that he wants to do..you have never met a more cheerful man

But then someone let's that name slip. The words escape just one person's mouth, and all of that energy and happiness is gone in a matter of seconds.

Gai is no longer smiling. He's now curled up into himself, and sad look on his face as he plays with the dirt under his feet.

The first time this happens in front of his students they're confussed. They have never seen their Sensei react to anything like this. They didn't think it was possible for him to get upset about anything.

But here he is. So broken and lost at the mention of a name

They try to ask, but Gai never gives them an answer and no one else knows how to explain it to them.

It's not until the war, in the heat of the battle when they hear that name again that they understand

roommates au where theyre not exactly friends but they dont hate each other either and theyre usually not in the room the same time but one day isak stays in to do his homework and even is watching a movie on his laptop and he brought carrots as snacks which, isak doesnt understand but okay, and isak lifts his head thinking of an answer when he catches even putting a whole carrot in his mouth, biting it off and holy SHit okay that was in no way sexual its just a damn carrot but then isak is unable to focus and even chewing the carrot starts to irritate him so he ends up shouting at even without meaning to, to stop and even looks up innocently which ,uGH fuck this, and apologizes but then isak does too. and the library closes for a while where isak usually studies so he has to do it in his room, and the carrots are always back and isaks sure he’s never seen even eat carrots before, who even eats raw carrots, and whY does even need to eat it without cutting them in hALF at least so isak asks him straight out and evens like, “does it bother you” and isaks like, “no? well yeah?? it just.looks like you kno….like youre putting someTHING ELSE in your mouth” and even smirks, rolling on his side, and isak forgot he’s shirtless so he has to swallow hard and evens like “isak, are you sexually frustrated” and isak goes off like “nNO im NOT” but then even is climbing off his head and onto isaks and fuckin hell he’s even prettier from up close and when isak stops talking as even makes his way down,pushing his shirt up and kissing his stomach, his hands reaching his belt and isak groans, even looks up ,ready to stop but isak shakes his head, “go on just.,,,dont bite it off like its ur damn carrot” and even chuckles before unbuckling his belt and gettin him out of his jeans
