Underrated Kazuya detail is that he's actually a good boss. Like I don't think we've seen him ever mistreat his underlings (which is something very atypical for a villain) and he also does stuff like tell them to not bother fighting Akuma as they're no match for him, when most wouldn't show any level of care for their lives. And there's even Jack's t7 ending where Kazuya gives him a paycheck and carte blanche on expenses beyond even the approved ones - which, while this ending is played for laughs, it's still kind of incredible that in any scenario Kaz is willing to pay his robots.

layla growing to accept herself, finding people who accepted her, and choosing to spurn power given to her and getting to live on for however long her life will be happily
versus sigrud who sought vengeance, helped create a near apocalypse to punish the people who persecuted her and killed her friend, and then embracing power given to her so she can rewrite it all when she came to regret what she did, effectively killing herself in the process

To all the anons currently harshing my mellow by clogging up my inbox shouting angrily at me for theorising that Eddie and Lucy are going to go on at least one date and telling me you'll stop watching the show if they do.
I suggest you stop watching now and save yourself some time - perhaps use it to gain some critical thinking skills, or maybe use it learning how to not go around making your misery everyone else’s problem!
Don’t forget to close the door on your way out!!

have to be up in the Capital next week after months of hermitting by the seaside, it wasn't planned and I had every intention of celebrating a quiet halloween by myself which wouldn't have been HALF as lonely as texting the few friends i have in paris too make plans for unrelated drinks and all of them saying they can't on the 31st because of plans, yet not extending a "what are your plans?" or even a half assed invitation

genuine writing tip: if you sit down to write and it seems chaotic, disjointed, disconnected, repetitive etc in a way that feels like something is wrong, it might be because you need to do some selfcare. you're not a hack; things like needing to eat, being dehydrated, needing a shower, having unbrushed teeth, sleep deprivation etc will fuck up your cognition to a degree you might be more surprised by in some cases than others. writer's block, and/or your writing feeling like a garbled mess, might be a check engine light to go take care of that stuff.
(this is one reason writing can be such an extremely useful tool for my health, mental and physical, when i'm doing it regularly. i write a few sentences, even just to get a quota out of the way, and suddenly i get hit by a dozen status effects at once that i've been ignoring for hours or days. it also, for me, comes with the added motivator that i want to write damn it go get maintenance out of the way so you can do the words.)
this is by no means a blanket statement! it might not work for everyone, and in some people's case it might make things worse; if, for example, you're someone who sits down to write and then gets sucked into it for hours to the exclusion of all else. but it helps me a lot, so i thought i should share: if any of this resonates with you at all, it might be worth considering.

actually readmore very tangentially related to the art that came out of the queue tonight
this is very understandable and fine but i genuinely think that naruto is far more important to yamato than yamato is to naruto in canon like yamato IS ride or die for naruto he's like so protective and caring of naruto he was told "This kid is your responsibility and because of the power that lives in you and the power that lives in him you are temporarilly coming out of the shadows and into the light" and like he took that to HEART didnt he
and like he clearly really loves team seven and loved being captain (co-captain) of team seven!! first time hes allowed to really be "himself" whoever the fuck that is, out in the sunlight, and like he is teaching kids and hes teaching Kakashi's kids and like he clearly liked that so much and being important to them and them being important to him and like there's rlly no doubt in my mind that he sees naruto as somebody very dear to him not unlike a son or a nephew or a little brother
i don't think naruto experiences their relationship the same way tho LIKE. when it comes to father figures he canonically views iruka as...as close to a dad as hes ever had—and there's kakashi too, who is emotionally distant often and just fucking weird even more often, but is obviously trying his best and Obviously cares, and then there is jiraiya, who is a huge fucking asshole and repeatedly denied naruto affection when naruto needed it but STILL eventually came around and clearly is somebody very meaningful and important to naruto, and tsunade!!!! tsunade who said she sees him almost like a son. who teases naruto and allows naruto to tease her back (allow, i say, as tho she could really stop him. this is who he is)
and then there is Yamato! He is in many ways very respectful of naruto as a shinobi, he is carefully distant (as he is with everyone) he is very honest and upfront with Naruto, but the closest he comes to any kind of direct affection is perhaps paying for food (as he does on their first mission, as kakashi goads him into later) or building a very fancy little resting house, or teasing naruto, or taking care of him when he is unwell. he's There and he Cares but hes...he's Captain Yamato. u know?
which is good! objectively its fantastic that by the point that yamato shows up, enough adults in naruto's life love and support him that he does not hunger for it anymore in the desperate way he did when he was younger!!! thats great! esp bc it was so so so so so fucking sad see the adults in his life deny him the affection he was so OBVIOUSLY needing
and also objectively this is the story telling modus operandi of naruto, he's the main character and he rolls into peoples lives like a category 5 hurricane uprooting them and leaving them blinking at bright sunlight in confusion and awe before he moves on to the next one. its very normal
i just also am like god damn. being in charge of team seven but specifically naruto completely flipped yamato's understanding of himself and his life and his place in the world and naruto probably has no fucking idea and you KNOW yamato isn't going to fucking tell naruto or any of the team because yamato does not seem to have conversations like that and certainly not with the kids.
