Hey so, tomorrow (or today depending on where you live.) is the end of the strike and well hate to be bearer of bad news but rest and doodles isn't assured when you return to regular posting. In literally TWO days from now, a new bill will pass called the KOSA bill, and it will cause MASS CENSIRSHIP across the media! Now this bill claims to "protect kids" but in actually it will cause more harm than good to everyone since kids won't have readily availible acess (or even at all) to content that can actually help them, people would not be able to educate themselves as access to some information or topics would be deemed "innapropriate", freedom of expression would be revoked especially lgbtqia people, a lot, privacy wouldn't be respected because you would have to verify yourself, and most importantly fandoms would cease to exist (or at least have trouble existing).

Now what can you do to help? Research on the topic, inform your government, friends, and family, and sign petitions against KOSA. Now some of these are optional only if you can't do them, but's what important is that YOU SPREAD INFORMATION AGAINST KOSA.

Yes AND passing this bill would greatly affect protests and spreading awareness such as this now. Time and time again the US has made it clear they are not with Palestine. Like if the US was allowed to post pro-isreal ads in the superbowl WHILE isreal was bombing Rafah, imagine how much worse the propaganda will get if this bill is passed.

With the KOSA act/bill becoming a topic increase, I want to talk about my relationship with the internet. I was a kid who was judged a lot in school, for liking things, being apart of a lot of fandoms, being who I was with my drawing skills. But being online showed me that there are a lot of people who are like me! People who want to support rights and help others, support others no matter what it is. I was suffering from issues in the self-harm part of life, thinking that I wasn't good enough and sometimes I still feel that way. But with the internet I was able to look at comics, ships, fandoms, whatever I wanted that made me feel happier instead of nothing. Being with the internet has helped me realized the rights and wrongs with healthy relationships, discovering who I am as a person, helping me decide if I was in safe spaces with my family and friends. Now, if anyone says, "why don't your parents talk to you about this?" It's my fault for that, it's because I'm extremely socially awkward, even around my close family and friends.

The internet has saved millions of lives and has helped people who feel like they are worthless find something to care about and to thrive. Taking it away will do nothing besides harm people.

How about palestine and all that happening there?! LGBTQ+ people?! People who just want to make art that they enjoy and write stories that they can share with other?!

They're doing this for themselves under a false idea.

Stop KOSA, it's not neccessary.

Want to limit things? A PARENT CAN DO THAT EASILY. Don't make a dumb excuse to punish everyone under a dumb superstition that the internet is 'bad' for people.

Cyberbullying? Bullying happening in real life is much more harmful. Online you can block them, report them, make them go away and ignore them. Real life? Damage, pain, hit, thrown, slapped, assaulted in a multitude of ways!

Just stop the KOSA bill, it's sickening.

And if it does get passed and we have to do things like show information? That is intruding on people's lives and showing information that no one besides them and possible jobs should know.

KOSA is not needed, it's not wanted by anyone on the internet, it's wanted by people who want control and by narcissists that want nothing else than to harm others and ruin their minds.

KOSA UPDATE:

The bill now has a total of 62 co-sponsors (Dems and Republicans). They purportedly rewrote the bill to "address concerns", but the bill would still require you to upload your govt ID and use an age-gate in order to access information on the web.

LGBT+ advocacy organizations such as the Trevor Project, GLAAD, Human Rights Campaign, PFLAG National, National Center for Lesbian Rights, and National Center for Transgender Rights, withdrawn their opposition against the bill.

We have until next week (2/26/24), maybe, to get louder about this.

Pantau Langsung Pembongkaran Pasar Umum Negara, Bupati Tamba Pastikan Berjalan Lancar

BALIPORTALNEWS.COM, JEMBRANA - Revitalisasi Pasar Umum Negara memasuki tahap pembongkaran dan pembersihan bangunan setelah sebelumnya pengosongan pedagang yang berjualan. Pemerintah Kabupaten Jembrana sendiri telah menyediakan lokasi untuk relokasi pedagang diantaranya di areal parkir Pemkab Jembrana serta Pasar Ijo Gading. Memastikan tahapan revitalisasi pasar berjalan lancar, Bupati I Nengah Tamba kembali melakukan peninjauan pembongkaran Pasar Umum Negara, Senin (4/9/2023). Tinggal menyisihkan beberapa kios, pihaknya memastikan sedikit lagi lahan pasar bisa dirapikan untuk segera dibangun. "Kalau kita perhatikan hari ini sepertinya untuk hari H yang ditentukan oleh projek pemenang tender itu adalah bisa kita capai, tinggal ditambah alat berat saja ini persoalannya sudah selesai," ungkapnya. Bupati mengatakan, revitalisasi dari pemerintah pusat ini sesungguhnya bermaksud baik mengingat kondisi Pasar yang sudah dibangun sejak tahun 1955 dinilai kurang layak. Revitalisasi juga dimaksudkan untuk meningkatkan fungsi pasar agar lebih bersih, nyaman dan ramai dikunjungi pembeli. "Saya sebagai Bupati tentu setiap saat kita ikuti perkembangannya agar berjalan lancar. Tentunya juga meminta maaf selama relokasi ada penurunan pembeli. Mohon bersabar, karena ini tujuannya baik untuk kita semua," ucapnya. Lebih lanjut, ia merasa lega mengenai beberapa persoalan yang sempat terjadi, di awal proses pembongkaran dan pengosongan pedagang di Pasar Umum Negara. Termasuk upayanya mengakomodir aspirasi pedagang akan ukuran los yang lebih luas. Namun, bersyukur dari hasil review pembesaran ukuran los dapat terpenuhi. "Revew sudah ada kabar jadi sudah ada ukuran 3x4 sudah lebih dari serratus, 3x3 juga ada segitu. Saya rasa temen-temen pedagang bisa menerima dengan bahagia," ujar Bupati Tamba. Sementara itu, terkait dengan penggeseran Pura Melanting Pasar Negara sesuai rencana gambar, pihaknya mengaku masih mengkordinasikan. Ia tidak ingin terburu-buru mengambil keputusan namun akan terus mengkomunikasikan dengan tokoh, pengempon termasuk mapinunas (mohon petunjuk) kepada griya/sulinggih. "Ini masih dikomunikasikan agar bangunan Pura Melanting bisa dibangun baru, seperti bangunan pasar yang juga baru. Dipindah sisi utara pasar sesuai asta kosala kosali tempat suci. I’ll do these for Leta, as she’s more or less the main character of Stars, Void, and Time, and I want to develop her more.

1. Do you like your hair?

I do, yeah. I keep it short because if you’re going to be working with heavy machinery all day, it’s best not to have anything for it to grab onto. Plus, I just don’t like the hassle of long hair. The reddish dye is just my own personal touch.

2. Do you like taking naps?

Ha, yeah, as anyone who went to university or has served on a ship with me can attest to. The Corax is a bit understaffed at the moment---we’re between recruiting opportunities---so I do basically all the engineering work on her. She’s usually pretty low-maintenance, but things can pile up, and it’s best to over-do things than under-do them in space. High-maintenance trips don’t leave much time for sleep, so I try to catch a wink when I can.

3. Can you dance?

Also as anyone who went to university with can attest to, no I cannot. I’ve never really had the inclination, and found out very quickly that I’m pretty terrible at it the first time I attended an even that required it.

4. Which do you like more, history, math, literature, or science?

The fourth for most of my life, though mathematics also play a large part in a lot of aspects of my job. Fortunately, the Corax can do a lot of calculations automatically.

5. Were you named after anyone?

Nope! My mother just thought it was a nice name, and my father agreed.

6. How many languages can you speak?

I speak English and a tiny bit of Kosali---a Corona Alliance language first developed in the 2600s. I learned it from my university roommate.

7. What do you notice first when meeting someone new?

Depends on the person, really. Most of the time, appearance first, then demeanor. 

8. Would you rather have things or experiences?

Hmm, tough one. Things are rather useful when you're an engineer both in occupation and as a hobby, so I’m gonna have to choose that.

9. Do you have any pets?

I don’t at the moment, though I had a dog and a pair of rats growing up, and my roommate in my university had a tarantula.

10. How old are you?

Eh, not really? I’m more of an indoors person. I’d rather read a book, play a game, etc.

12. What’s your favorite myth?

I’ve always loved the scary stories written about the hypothetical light corridor breaches---tears in the fabric of the weird wormhole space created by FTL drives. Though I will admit that they’ve become a bit eerier now that I’ve taken a freighter job---I’m in an FTL corridor more often than not while on the job. It’s like watching a horror movie about sharks while on a deep-sea dive.
