Filho de um arquiteto com uma ex-atriz, se perguntado hoje em dia, Siwon ainda diz pra qualquer um que seu trabalho dos sonhos de infância era ser astronauta. Sua mãe nunca deu muita importância pra isso, dedicada como era em viver pelo filho a vida que teve de abrir mão, assim que ele nasceu começou a inscrever a criança em todo tipo de audição.

Com 9 anos de idade Siwon conseguiu seu primeiro papel na TV. Era o personagem secundário de um drama como o irmão fofo da protagonista que acabou ganhando muita fama e um dinheiro considerável pros pais. Foi só ao ganhar seu primeiro brinquedo chique e ver os colegas achando legal que ele estava no cinema que finalmente começou a gostar daquela vida de ator. Infelizmente a TV não é um lugar para iniciantes. Nos anos seguintes todo papel que conseguia era ínfimo, mesmo tendo uma boa recepção no seu drama ele não conseguia nenhum papel. Era a oportunidade perfeita para ele desistir e voltar a ser um jovem normal, mas aquilo nunca foi uma opção pra sua mãe e, no fim, nem pra ele.

A adolescência foi preenchida de cameos em alguns dramas, mas nada que durasse mais de duas ou três cenas. Todo o tempo livre era preenchido por aulas de atuação e novas audições, na tentativa de conseguir algum papel principal finalmente. Assim que terminou a escola, sabendo que não tinha ainda conseguido deslanchar sua carreira, entrou no exército como uma oportunidade de conseguir um tempo antes de tomar a decisão que mais temia: se ia desistir da carreira e cursar a faculdade de arquitetura para seguir os passos do pai, ou se ia continuar tentando. No fim, ele precisava decidir se aquele era só o sonho de sua mãe ou tinha se tornado o seu.

No dia seguinte ao fim do seu período militar, foi fazer mais uma audição. Dessa vez deu certo, muito provavelmente pela sua beleza do que pela atuação dado que o papel que conseguiu era de um CEO frio, que mal tinha falas e que só se importava com a protagonista num drama de romance matinal. Mas aquilo foi o suficiente pra se colocar no mundo da atuação de novo e foi só em 2023 que ele conseguiu emplacar como protagonista num drama noturno premiado. Agora sua fama está crescendo potencialmente e muito se espera do que ele vai fazer em seguida.

HOT TAKE: Episode 4 of this show broke me, hard. Although the plot is simple and a bit repetitive, every single acting performance is stellar. The character connections made with each new story gives the overarching experience real depth and emotion, and I can't wait for the second part coming in 2024.

Death's Game

Started it today and ended it today. This 8 episode long series is too intense to leave it for later. I binged watched it like I haven't done so in a while. It is the kind of series that is best to go into it without knowing much, unless you read the webtoon. I haven't read it yet, but it's a really short webtoon so I think I will probably read it.

Anyway, this series is not for the fainted heart. It has a lot of triggers and it can be gruesome and gory in some points. However, if you don't mind it, watch it. It is really good. It keeps the audience in suspense and it makes us cry.

The cast did an amazing job! Each person felt like it was Yi Jae.
