Me praying like an idiot because I'm technically agnostic:
Tumblr media
PLEASE PLEASE let the Welcome to Derry prequel series be good and be about the Hanlon family, baby losers, just over all give me more for Mike Hanlon's character because he deserves it! Yes I know the show needs to be creepy, but please we do not need a whole ass origin story about the fucking clown. The clown can hold up by it's self if it's fucking creepy enough. Please do not waste anymore shit on the clown. I just have this vision of baby losers meeting or having a implication of meeting in the future. Heck I want baby richie and baby eddie to meet. I want a whole family history thing about the Hanlon's in the 60s. Having to deal with racism, evil clowns, but Will falling in love with his future wife Jessica. Please just more Hanlon stuff! That's all I want!!

losers fic writers what are ur losers middle names since they don’t have canonical last names 🙇‍♀️🙇‍♀️
i’ve been writing losers club / it fics for seven years so i’ve had plenty of time to perfect their middle names so here they are
eddie
eddie’s middle name when i write him is always isaiah. it’s biblical, it’s pretty, and i just think eddie’s mom is very much about pretty perfect things and edward isaiah kaspbrak is just a pretty little name
richie
alwaysssss wentworth! always! richard wentworth tozier is so ingrained into my mind that it’s almost canon to me. i just think wentworth and maggie are the type to name their kids after themselves and when richie was born they were like okay cute, little boy, dads name as his middle name.
stan
i think stanley asher is so cute and it’s also a popular name in hebrew and it goes well with his last name so i do love it. truth be told i did do a little digging when i was 14 and needing a middle name for stan and asher was one of the names that kept showing up on popular jewish names websites so it kinda just stuck w me. stanley asher uris ur so famous to me <3
bill
william henry 🙇‍♀️🙇‍♀️ william henry denbrough 🤷‍♀️ and georgie’s middle name is james, even though he’s the only one with a canonical middle name 😭
mike
mikes middle name is william bc it’s his dads name , but i also think he could’ve been named “michael leroy hanlon” after his grandfather. i tend to go with william though !
ben
benjamin alexander!!! so so cutie pie just like he is.
bev
beverly grace just screams at me idk. i just feel like her dad would’ve picked it, and she hates it, but richie found out about it and calls her by it all the time and it’s grown on her hearing him call her it. (bc they’re bffs)

Biography
Harper is very much Bill's child, and while he doesn't stutter like his father sometimes still does, Harper is as brave and optimistic as he is, which is another major reason as to why he became someone his friends could look up to. As the leader of the Losers Club 2.0 and the second eldest of the next generation of the original Losers Club, Harps believes they have to look out for the younger members of the group lest something happens to them. They wouldn't be able to forgive themselves if something happened to any of them under their watch, which is why Harper often goes out of their way to make sure they're not putting themselves in danger. Harper might look a bit intimidating to those who don't know them, but their family and friends know when they're smiling on the inside, and if they're your friend you'll be in good hands.

Biography
Noel is by far the most outgoing child out of the entire Denbrough-Hanlon-Uris brood; easily gaining the spotlight over the anxious Harper and shy Eileen. Their mind goes a million miles per second and they love talking to everyone about anything, which might seem a bit strange to those just meeting them for the first time, but most tend to warm up to them over time. While El might be a bit much personality-wise for some, they're extremely friendly and will try to tone it down a bit if they realize they're making you uncomfortable. El is the type of person who will enthusiastically encourage you in regards to your interests and will listen to you ramble on for hours even if they have no interest themselves in the subject, just because you're having a good time and that fact makes them happy.

Occupation: Student, Musician
Personality
+Caring +assertive at times +generous +quite protective of her friends -clumsy -easily embarrassed -procrastinates a lot
Biography
Eileen is a very calm and quiet young girl, and because of this an unknowing stranger might take her at face value and consider nothing else of her. Doing so would be a great disservice, because under her shy exterior lies an outgoing, friendly interior than only her loved ones truly know. While she can cry easily if embarrassed and seems like someone you can push around, you'd be hard pressed to try and do that; if her dads or older siblings aren't already coming to her rescue, it's a guarantee that she'll give you the beat down instead. She might not look very threatening, but if you press the wrong buttons you'll encounter a side of Eileen that is only heard of in stories. When she isn't pummeling those who bother her or her loved ones, you can most often find her in a relaxed state; usually writing poetry or practicing her instrument.

IT ESO
Inmediatamente, Pennywise asesina brutalmente a Patrick.
Georgie aparece e invita a Bill a unirse a él diciendo: «Todos flotamos aquí».

College AU Roleplay - Character Introduction 4/8
Mike Hanlon will be played by @mikehanlonstan
Under the Cut: descriptions of physical and mental characterization; background on what Mike’s been up to between the summer of IT and the start of the RP.
-Character Description-
Physical:
He doesn’t shave often; usually has facial hair, but at least he keeps it neat.
He always forgets to, or procrastinates, getting his hair cut so it tends to get messy, but it’s cute.
Wears glasses; big round ones. I’d say he wears them like 60% of the time.
Big eyes and the most gorgeous smile you'll ever see.
Freckles. Just a lil’ bit of freckle on his nose/cheeks.
Fashion sense has greatly improved since his teenage years. He’s actually pretty damn FASHIONABLE (for now).
He’s not ripped, but he’s pretty fit and toned from years of farm work and playing football. Also, he runs very fast.
Rough hands. True farm boy.
Personality:
Mike is just a genuinely good person. He’s nice to everyone, but especially caring when it comes to his friends and family. He has a strong sense of justice and will stand up for himself and anyone who needs it.
He always thinks about everyone’s needs before his own and will go out of his way to help a friend, and will usually be the one to try and resolve any tension in a group.
Even with people he dislikes/hates, he’d rather ignore them than start shit. Don’t be fooled, though; he might be a lover, but he won’t hesitate to fight someone if they get on his really bad side. Everyone has limits.
He’s a romantic and always wants to see the good in people, but not to the point where it’s considered naive. He’ll give second chances and the benefit of the doubt, and has the empathy to understand where someone might be coming from, but that’s about it.
He’s very loyal, but not to a fault. He won’t hesitate to call someone out if they’re wrong, even if it’s someone very close to him.
He’s nice to new people, but always somewhat hesitant and suspicious, since he was bullied pretty much his entire life.
He tends to be a bit of a pessimist, but tries not to.
He’s very curious, loves to read and learn, and questions EVERYTHING; he never takes anybody’s word as gospel until he’s done his own research. He’s very smart and quick-witted and finds his way out of sticky situations easily.
He’s not one for blind faith; like I said, he questions everything, and won’t believe in anything without solid proof. As a child he didn’t mind going to church with his mom, believing in the supernatural/paranormal etc., but he quickly grew out of that around the age of 12-13. All that being said, he won’t deny the existence of anything either; he just needs proof to be 100% on board. Somewhere between skeptic - believer, I guess?
Mike admires and looks up to his father very, very much, lives by his lessons and the values he’s passed on to him, and tries his best to make him proud.
Misc: Sings like an angel, horror/sci-fi fan (Alien is his favorite movie), listens to a wide variety of music genres (but MJ is king and always will be), hobbies include reading, photography, bike rides/driving early in the morning, cooking and playing the same 5 chords on the guitar over and over (he’s trying to learn, shh) etc etc.
Family:
William & Jessica Hanlon (parents): AKA the two people he loves most in the world. He’s got a very tight and loving relationship with both of them, especially his dad. He probably calls them like every night.
Bambi (doggo): The family’s border collie, a very good boy. They adopted him when Mike was 16, because that’s how long it took him to get over Mr. Chips.
Leroy & Shirley Hanlon (grandparents): Also very close with them, despite not seeing them as often as he did as a child anymore. Talks to them on the phone often and loves them both dearly.
4 uncles from his dad’s side: Not as close, since they all live scattered around the country with their families, but still family.
2 aunties & a grandma from his mom’s side: His mother and her family don’t really get along. He barely knows them and rarely speaks to them.
Amnesia Status:
Doesn’t remember the summer of Pennywise.
Sometimes he has nightmares about it, and wakes up to his back hurting where the bird scratched him, or his palm stinging. But he immediately forgets and the pain fades.
He has a general feeling of unease literally just from being in Derry, but can’t explain why. It’s just a constant bad feeling in the back of his mind.
Often gets the urge to revisit locations where he encountered IT, but it passes.
Subconscious fear of large or weird looking birds. He’ll fight a chicken no sweat.
He vaguely remembers going to school with the Losers, but only knows them as acquaintances/classmates, not as good friends or anything more.
-Pre-RP Background-
High school:
Mike graduated from Derry High School and didn’t leave Derry until his third year of college.
Without the losers, he went back to being a loner for the rest of middle/high school, despite being in the football team and actually pretty popular. He remained close friends with Stan until Stan moved away for college and they began to forget eachother, and then he just never established any meaningful connections. He still had to deal with racist bullies, but over the years he learned to deal with it better; although he’s still terrified of Henry Bowers to this day.
Transitional Years:
Will was diagnosed with lung cancer during Mike’s senior year. It was very scary and, coupled with his low funds, made Mike reluctant to leave home. So he stayed in Derry and went to community college.
He continued playing football, worked part time/ summers at the library to save money and bought an old used car… but otherwise slowly watched as his dreams and ambitions rotted away day by day in that miserable, prejudiced town. :)
But he really wanted to spend as much time with his family as he could, since he was scared his dad might die any day. So despite everything, it was his choice to stay and he stood by it.
Moving away/Current status:
As Will became more stable and started to get better, his parents started urging him to transfer out of state and finally get out of Derry, because it was obviously fucking depressing him, despite what he said.
He was reluctant to transfer at first, but since he didn’t have the funds to move out of state anyways and he wouldn’t be too far from home if anything were to happen, he decided to do it.
And so, he transferred his credits to the University of Maine, and Mike finally left that little shit hole of a town. He’s thrilled to finally have that awful weight off his shoulders, but he will still phone home every night and visit as often as he can.

Welcome to Derry better be about Mikes family and how his grandpa and dad survived It(till the fire of course ) and baby losers origins. Please give us baby losers meeting or implications of them meeting. Like give me Richie and Stan meeting as five year olds. Or Richie meeting Eddie. Or Bill and Richie meeting. Or heck their parents. So we can know they plan to let their kids be friends.

third person's pov
The day started like any other for Lily Blue and Mike Hanlon.
At 7:45 am on the dot, Jessica Hanlon would bring her son, Mike Hanlon, to the Blue household. Will Hanlon and Jason Blue, Mike and Lily's fathers, had left an hour earlier for work, as per usual. When Jessica would arrive,  it would be 8:00 am and Bridget Blue would have some buttered toast and jam ready for breakfast, with a glass of orange juice, Lily in her seat, waiting impatiently to eat. The Blue-Hanlon families would eat, the mothers giggling about something that their husbands had done for them the night before and the children would hurriedly eat their breakfast, not having time to talk for the food in their mouths.
From there, Bridget and Jessica would clean up breakfast as the two children giggled and played in the living room, playing with barbies and Mike's G.I. Joe.
At 10:30, the Mike and Lily would take their usual nap, before waking up an hour and a half later.
At 12:30 everyone would have lunch, before proceeding to clean the house.
By the time 5:30 rolled around the house would be spotless and prepared for Will Hanlon and Jason Blue to come home.
The two men would stroll in at 6:00, in time to eat dinner before it went cold.
Except something was off the whole day, to Lily anyway. Like she could feel something was going to happen, but she didn't know what, and quite frankly, didn't care. She was 4 and a half, why should she?
At 6:45, though, that was when Mike Hanlon and Lily Blue's lives changed forever.
The adults were in the living room and Mike and Lily were in the spare room, which had been turned into a playroom when everything went wrong.
The front door opened quietly, though no one had heard it. Not until it was too late anyway. Whoever had entered, then proceeded to pour gasoline all over the kitchen and walls, before moving to the living room.
Jessica Hanlon screamed as something poured over her head, covering her hair, face, and dress, soaking Will as well.
Will pulled Jessica to him as they tried to see who was soaking them with gas.
Quickly whoever had plans to destroy the families, splashed gas on the Blue family, before pulling out a lighter.
"NO!" The adults screamed and made desperate grabs for the lighter.
Finally able to see who was intent on murdering them, Bridget Blue watched in horror at Butch Bowers smirked evilly before dropping the lighter onto the gas and running out of the building.
The adults screamed as the fire because to climb up their limbs, scorching them.
The fire began to spread throughout the house, as the four parents, despite being aflame, ran to the playroom, desperate to save their children.
The door had at that moment decided to jam as both the children and parents tried to open the door.
Lily and Mike cried as they heard the pounding on the door begin to cease, the adults still screaming in pain as the flesh was burned off of their bodies.
The flames licked at the door of the room and slowly spread to the walls.
Mike and Lily huddled together, holding on tightly to each other as they waited to be burned alive as well.
The rest of the door was kicked down, a fire extinguisher spraying the flames that had entered the room.
The fireman that had extinguished the flames quickly spotted the two 4-year-olds, curled around each other, shaking.
He walked over, and gently placed a hand on Mike's back, as the way they were curled up, Mike's back had been facing towards the fire, with Lily in the corner. It was as if Mike was using his 4-year-old body as a human shield. His father told him one day when they were helping Mike's grandfather around the farm, "Mike, if there ever comes a time, when me, or Uncle Jason, or even Aunt Bridget and your mother aren't around, and it's just you and Lily, you always protect her, okay? Against anything. She's your best friend, she's been with you your whole life, and will probably continue to be with you for the rest of your life. You probably won't understand this now, but when you're older you will. Lilith is like your platonic soulmate in a sense. Platonic means love or a really strong friendship and soulmate's like your mother and me, or grandma and grandpa. Alright?" to which an owl-eyed Mike responded, "Okay Daddy". "promise you'll make sure she's okay when no one else can?" Will held his pinky out to which Mike wrapped his smaller one around his, nodding with the most solemn expression Will Hanlon had ever seen.
Now, that the fire was put out, the two kids peaked up to see if they actually had died but it just didn't hurt but were pleasantly surprised when they saw that the fire was out and there was a fireman that saved them.
The fireman, Chester, helped Mike up, who then helped Lily up and grasped her hand tightly.
"Is Mommy and Daddy okay? Aunt Jessy and Uncle Willy?" Lily asked, her lip trembling as she held onto Mike's hand tightly.
Chester didn't look at them, and instead picked them up and ran out of the room, and down the hall, trying to get away from the burnt corpses of the Blue and Hanlon families.
Unfortunately, it was no use as they both saw the burnt piles of cloth and bones laying by the door.
Their jaws hung in shock, neither saying anything, quite literally shell-shocked.
Outside four cop cars were scattered around the house, and two fire trucks were stationed on the left and right side of the house, water spraying from both trucks as the firefighters continued to extinguish the house that was still on fire.
Mike and Lily sat by two bushes, eyes wide, both shaking.
Leroy and Shirley Hanlon drove up to the burnt down house on Harris Avenue, Leroy still wearing his plaid button up shirt and blue jeans, but Shirley had obviously just changed and was preparing for bed, standing in her pink nightgown, light blue bathrobe tied tightly to her frame, black slippers on her feet.
Shirley was the first to spot her grandson and her future adopted-granddaughter.
Quickly, she pulled Leroy to the two children, but a police officer held them back.
"Sir, ma'am I'm afraid you're going to have to take a step back." Kenny Rayson said, holding the woman back, well attempting to anyway.
"Officer, with all, do respect, that is my grandchildren over there, now you can either let me by, or you can take me to the jailhouse, but I'm getting to my grandbabies whether you like it or not." Shirley Hanlon was an incredibly fierce woman when she wanted to be.
Kenny Rayson wasn't a bright man, but he knew when to get out of a woman's way, especially when she wasn't afraid to put up a fight. Officer Rayson guided the couple to the shaking children. Shirley frowned at the traumatized children and picked up Mike and Leroy picked up Lily, Rayson walking them to their car without question.
That night, Lily and Mike vowed to forever stay connected at the hip, no matter what, because even as children, they knew that nobody would understand what they've been through, except each other.
~1989~
lily's pov
Mike and I stood in the farmhouse with our Grandfather, Leroy Hanlon, and Mr. Moe Lawrence, one of Grandad's workers that helped around the farm from time to time.
I grimaced as the bolt penetrated the sheep's skull, plunging into the poor thing's brain, killing it instantly. I knew that the animal didn't feel any pain because it had happened so fast and by the time the pain set in, it would already be dead, not having to feel anything. I knew this, but still couldn't help but feel terrible for taking an innocent life.
Grandad turned to Mike and me, staring at us, waiting.
Noticing that my best friend wasn't going to make a move, I stepped forward, swallowing thickly.
Grandad handed me the gun, reloading it, and clicking the safety off.
He helped me position my arms correctly and I bit the inside of my cheek, as I placed the barrel between the animal's eyes.
I squeezed my eyes shut as I pulled the trigger, the gun pushing me back a bit, signaling that I wasn't prepared for the kick.
The sheep hit the ground, and Grandad placed a rough, calloused hand on my shoulder, giving me a pat on the back, taking the gun from me, and reloading it, before handing it off to Mike, who gave my shoulder a small squeeze, before copying my actions, following our grandfather's directions.
"Go on Mike, pull it!" Grandad encouraged Mike.
After a few minutes of hesitation, Grandad pulled the gun away from Mike and shot the sheep himself.
"You need to start taking more responsibility around here Mike, Lily. When your dad was younger than you-" Grandad said, before he was cut off by Mike.
"You're not my dad, alright?!" Mike snapped.
I decided it would be best just to keep quiet because it wasn't really the best idea to get into a fight with Grandad and Mike.
"Man, look at me, son," Grandad was speaking softly at first, but when Mike didn't look at him immediately, he got slightly harsher.
"Look at me!" Mike turned to look at him, with a slightly irritated look on his face.
"There are two places you can be in this world! You can be out here, like us. Or you can be in there, like them. You waste time, hemming and hawing, and someone else is going to make that choice for you. Except you won't know it, until you feel that bolt, between your eyes." Grandad Leroy said, placing his pointer finger between Mike's eyes, before walking away.
I gulped, watching them.
Another sheep was let through, and thankfully, Grandad let Mike and I go.
We went up to the house, going into the kitchen.
Mike went to get our books as I began to make some lunch for Grandad, Mike, and myself. Moe always brought a lunch that his wife would pack for him, and he was also the only one here today.
Gramms had passed away a few months ago. It was pretty gory if I'm being honest.
When we found her, she was out in the fields, laying by the old oak tree, eyes open, a look of terror written a crossed her face, her eyes still holding the fear she had felt in her final moments. She was covered in blood, her own blood, and she was laying in a pool of it too. Her stomach was bloody, and her intestines were missing.
The autopsy said she had died of a heart attack, her intestines being eaten out were after she had passed.
After she passed away, Grandad kinda went off the deep end. His temper had gotten shorter for sure, but he had also quit taking care of himself like he used to.
Before they would take turns cooking, Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays Gramms cooked dinner, and Grandad cooked Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday. Every couple of months they would switch it up a bit, and whenever they cooked, they taught Mike and me so that we would know how to cook and take care of ourselves when the time came when we only had each other.
Now, on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays, I cook lunch and dessert, and Mike does Breakfast and Dinner. On Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, I cook Breakfast and Dinner, and Mike does lunch and dessert.
We've definitely gotten a system down.
For now, though, I was making some sandwiches.
I made a peanut butter and banana sandwich for Grandad, and some peanut butter and honey sandwiches for Mike and I.
I placed the sandwiches on the table as Mike washed his hands and pulled some glasses out, filling them with ice and tea.
As we were placing the cups on the table, Grandad came inside and washed his hands, before taking his seat at the table.
"Thank you, both of you" Grandad had calmed down since his little fight with Mike, now eating quietly.
I gave him a smile, nodding, polishing off the rest of my peanut butter and honey sandwich, washing it down with the tea.
The rest of the meal was quiet after that, as we ate in silence.
After we were all done eating, we cleaned up the mess and got back to work, well Grandad did, Mike and I had taken to do our school work.
After a few hours, we had finished our homework and had eaten dinner and dessert, now just lounging around.
Grandad had already gone to sleep, so it was just Mike and me up.
Mike and I were up in my room, laying on my bed, just staring at the ceiling.
I had my head in Mike's lap, with Mike running his hands through my hair, playing with it.
"Do you think our lives would be different if the fire never happened?" Mike suddenly asked.
"Yeah of course. I mean for starters, we'd probably be in public school, with parents like everyone else. We wouldn't live together, we wouldn't live with Grandad! The list goes on!" I let out a yawn and closed my eyes.
"But I wouldn't trade this life for anything in the world. Everything happens for a reason, we've just gotta find what that reason is." I let out another yawn, and Mike pulled me up to the head of the bed where he was.
"Yeah, but if that reason wants to tell us, that'd be good too" Mike let out a yawn as well, and we snuggled up under the blankets getting comfy.
"Don't forget that someone's gotta go grocery shopping tomorrow" Mike reminded me. Oh yeah, it was my turn to go out to the shops.
I nodded before I began to drift off to sleep.
"Good night, Lily," Mike said.
"Good night, Mike," I said before I allowed myself to drift off into the imagination of my memories and thoughts.
So that was chapter one of birds of a feather! let me know what you think!

Sugar Cookies
After the incident with the door and the smoke and Belch almost running him over with his car, Mike biked home, headed straight for the cabinet in the kitchen with his grandma’s old cookbooks and pulled out the first one his hand landed on. The Dessert Collector, 3rd Edition. He stared at it for a moment, not quite seeing it, hands shaking, before putting it down on the counter and taking a deep breath and waiting for his breathing to even out before he opened the book to the back and looking through the recipes.
He was searching for sugar cookies. He’d never baked before in his life but his mom had used to make them all the time and Mike sometimes stopped in the bakery in town just to smell the nutmeg and remember his mom’s hand smoothing his hair down and cupping his cheek before tickling his belly until he giggled and twisted away from her questing fingers.
And Mike could have done any number of things to force the adrenaline from his system. There was still chores that needed to be done even if his grandpa had said he could be done after running the deliveries. The fields always needed to be checked for rocks or Winston Blackpool had said he would show Mike how to work on an engine. But Mike was desperate for his mother’s comfort and if this was the closest Mike could be to her, then he would bake.
Plus, people had liked Jessica Hanlon. She’d shown up to bake sales and church pitch-ins with her crumble cakes or lemon squares or blueberry cobbler and no one cared her skin was darker than everyone else’s. They didn’t care her hair was kinky or her lips were big. If she showed up at someone’s front door with a casserole after something bad happened in a family, it wasn’t a case of “That negro woman better get out of here” or worse. It was “Jessica Hanlon is so thoughtful, Oliver. We really should have the Hanlons over for dinner sometime.” She was sunshine and warmth and Mike had never seen anyone raise their voice or a hand to his mother.
Mike didn’t expect that to happen for him. He just wanted to feel closer to his mother and his best memories involved her baking while Mike watched wide-eyed, standing on tiptoes to peer over the counter and watch exactly how the cakes were made.
The first batch came out burned. The second batch looked good on the top but the bottom was just as burned as the first. His grandpa came in just as Mike was setting the third batch, and the best looking yet, on the cooling rack. He picked one up, bit into and promptly spit it back out onto the counter. Mike wilted and immediately took the cookie sheet to the trashcan to scrape the rest of the cookies in.
“Keep practicing, Mike,” his grandpa said, heading for the bathroom to get cleaned up. “Jessica’s were worse when she first started baking.”
Mike kept scraping the cookies into the trash but there was a small smile on his face now.
--
The second time he attempted sugar cookies, it was after a dressing down from his grandfather about staying out past the curfew. Mike had tried to explain it wasn’t actually his fault (which it wasn’t...Henry and his goons made Mike’s life a living hell whenever he set foot into town and that included making him stay out past curfew) but his grandfather hadn’t been willing to hear it.
So while his grandfather was in the study doing the books for the farm, Mike banged around in the kitchen, savagely hoping he was giving him a headache. A small part of him felt guilty for the thought but it wasn’t quite enough to make him stop being noisy.
It was only after his third time closing the oven door harder than necessary did his grandfather appear in the doorway to the kitchen, his scowl a heavy thundercloud on his face. He opened his mouth, ready to bellow, before looking at Mike who was watching him a calculated look of wide-eyed innocence. He let out a long gusty sigh.
“Keep the noise down in here or any mistakes I make will be coming out of your hide,” he finally growled before turning back around and stumping back to the study. Mike barely caught the mutter of, “Just like his mother” and grinned, somehow feeling lighter than he had ages.
This batch, while still nowhere near as good as his mom’s, was at least edible.
--
“Mike, you know I appreciate what you’ve been doing,” Leroy said, watching as Mike pulled mixing bowls and ingredients out of the cabinets. “And the men on the farm do, too. But do you think you could try something besides sugar cookies this time?” Mike frowned, considering. He had gotten good at them over the past few weeks but the men his grandfather hired to help out had also become his test subjects. Mike tended to judge how good his baking was by how fast the food disappeared and the past few times the cookies hadn’t lasted past a few hours.
“Alright,” Mike agreed and began flipping through the pages until he settled on sourdough bread. Instead of leaving, though, Leroy pulled up a chair at the kitchen table and sat down to watch Mike.
“Do you want to talk about it?”
“What?” Mike faltered, looking up at his grandfather. “Why do you think there’s anything to talk about?” Leroy gave him an unimpressed look.
“You think I didn’t notice you only bake after you had a run in with the Bowers boy or after you and I have a fight?” Mike flushed and looked determinedly back at the flour he was carefully measuring out. “So. Do you want to talk about it?” Mike was quiet for a few minutes as he separated and measured out the rest of the ingredients.
“I asked Tina Pattison out today,” he said after a few minutes. His face was bright red, but Leroy only raised his eyebrows. “And she said no.” He tried not to feel upset but he had had a crush on Tina for months. They had grown up at the same church and been in the same Sunday school class and every now and then her family came over for supper. She had one of the prettiest smiles Mike had ever seen, looked beautiful in purple and could snap out a comeback faster than Sammy Walker could snap a rubber band across the room.
“Ah,” Leroy said. He was quiet for a few minutes while Mike worked. “This sort of thing happens, Mike.”
“I know,” Mike muttered. “I just...I really like her, Grandpa.”
“I know you do, boy, just hold on. Did I ever tell you how I met your grandmother?” Mike shook his head, pausing in his work to watch his grandfather. Leroy’s gaze was far away and he had a small smile on his face.
“I used to work in a train yard Bangor,” he began. “Loading and unloading the cars, that sort of thing. The first time I’d ever seen my Shirley, she was wearing a beautiful blue dress and was heading into the main office for her first day of work. Easily the prettiest woman I had ever laid eyes on and I knew I needed to talk to her.”
“What did you say?” Mike asked. It was rare his grandfather talked about his grandma. Mike had seen a few pictures but she had died before he was born. To his surprise, instead of spilling something romantic or something similar, Leroy began laughing.
“I whistled at her,” he told Mike. “Like she was one of the common girls on the corner at night.” Mike didn’t quite see how that was funny but he kept quiet. “And your grandma, she turns around, her head held high and she’s looking over the men in the yard and finally her eyes land on me. And anyone can see your grandma is madder than a hornet and she tells me in the iciest voice imaginable that I can take my whistle, shove it where the sun don’t shine and go to hell. Ooh, I thought winter had come early when she said that! But I knew then she was going to be the woman I married.” Mike huffed out a laugh.
“It doesn’t sound like she was real keen on the idea,” he said. Leroy laughed.
“She wasn’t at first,” he agreed. “It took me weeks to get her speak to me after that. I spent most of my wages bringing her flowers to make up for that damned whistle, but she was worth every penny then and after. There were times when I thought she’d leave for good. But only the good Lord knows how I managed to convince her to choose me in the end.” He looked at Mike, warmth shining from his face. “Mike, you’re young. I won’t tell you not to smart over Miss Pattison because I’ve been rejected a fair time or two and I know it stings. But when you the meet the one she’s going to be worth every moment you spend breaking your back for her because she’ll be there to help put you back together again.” He stood up to clap Mike on the back. Mike reached around to give him a brief one-armed hug.
“I’ll keep that in mind, Grandpa. But if it’s all the same to you, when I meet another girl I like, I don’t think I’ll ask you for advice on how to go about asking her out.”
Leroy roared with laughter, slapping his thigh.
“Worked out alright for me, Mikey,” he chuckled, wiping his eye. “But your daddy was the real romantic. If you’re anything like him when it comes to women, you’ll do just fine.” Mike grinned as his grandfather left the kitchen, the sting from Tina Pattison’s rejection not completely gone but softened a bit.
--
After Neibolt Street, Leroy bodily removed Mike from the kitchen. He didn’t know what was going on with his grandson and Mike was refusing to talk about it but if he had enough energy to cover the entire damn kitchen in breads, cookies pies and cobblers then he had enough energy to go help dig up potatoes. He expects whatever is bugging Mike will taper off in a few days but the weeks pass and Mike’s baking frenzy doesn’t slow down at all.
The only good thing that came out of it, that Leroy could see, was Mike improved by leaps and bounds, but he still refused to talk to Leroy about. Leroy shrugged it off. His friends hadn’t been coming around as much so Leroy figured it was a fight but Mike didn’t seem to be in any trouble that Leroy could tell so he left it alone.
--
“Holy shit, Homeschool,” Richie said when they met up three days after the sewers. “These are amazing!” Mike grinned sheepishly, ready to brush off the compliment as Richie being a little shit but then Bev chimed in.
“Seriously, Mike,” she said, taking another cookie and biting into it with a small groan of relish. Next to her, Ben choked on his own cookie. “Richie is right. Where did you learn to bake?”
“Uh, over the summer. I sort of taught myself,” Mike admitted. Richie’s eyes popped open.
“Are you serious? Do homeschooling courses include home ec? Mikey, can you sew, too? If I give you my socks -”
“Your socks a toxic hazard,” Stan cut across him. “Don’t do that Mike.” He shamelessly grabbed a handful of cookies, clutching them possessively and leaning away from Richie, who made a grab for one. “There’s an entire container full of them right there,” he hissed. “And I am injured!”
“So is Eddie and he’d share with me,” Richie shot back, making another try.
“No, I wouldn’t,” Eddie said.
“No, I don’t take home ec courses,” Mike interrupted, his tone a little defensive. He would not, however, admit to knowing how to sew to Richie in a million years. “My mom used to bake so I wanted to learn. Get closer to her, you know?” Everyone nodded.
“That’s really sweet, Mike,” Beverly smiled and Mike couldn’t help the bashful smile he gave her in return.
“But wait,” Richie said. “Didn’t you say -”
“Shut up, Richie!”
@stillreddie I know you didn’t ask for this but I really liked your headcanon about Mike and baking so I wrote something

Mike isn’t used to getting compliments much these days. His parents weren’t cold - the opposite, in fact, especially his Mama - but they’re gone now, and Grandpa Leroy can’t afford to be soft. At least, that’s what he tells him.
He doesn’t cry himself to sleep every night ‘cause he doesn’t get enough pats on the back from the world… if anything, he’s happy when he can go a day without someone reaching out to push him down. But he’s been fine. ( He’s fine, Grandpa. He’s fine, ma’am. He’s fine! He’s fine. )
But the compliment sneaks up from under him and takes him by surprise. He tries not to be obvious about it, but he knows he must look like a deer in the headlights, anyway. For a second, he’s worried that another “fit” is coming on from absolutely nowhere, like it always does - Don’t be weird, Hanlon! Don’t give them an excuse to leave you!
But he doesn’t freak out. Instead, he finds himself smiling at Eddie – his friend – and nods a little.
“Thanks,” he adds, finally looking up to meet his eyes. “You are, too, y’know? I think we all are. Losers Club, right?”

A Regular Show Epic Final Battle part 3 review
Parts 1&2 review http://burritodetodo.tumblr.com/post/156043910394/a-regular-show-epic-final-battle-parts-12-review
What the fuck happened!? Is this a joke by CN or what? Why is The Power airing? I'm so mad... WAIT! Rigby is remembering the fight before hitting his body to the wall? YOU SCARED THE SHIT OUT OF US! The episode continues with Rigby remembering all the events before the end and Mordecai incredulous, thinking it was just another joke of his friend. In the flashback, we could see the box set was finally buried in the park and not sent into space. So Rigby took Mordecai to unearth that, but his friend still didn't believe him... until he touched the box set. They both knew they were in trouble, even more because the other park guys were erased. It was a time glitch caused by their interference on the Big Bang Brofist that reseted time and space. Luckily, The Power wasn't erased so they used it to "take us to the end/take us to the end/wo-ohhhh".
Tumblr media
Due to that glitch, the battle between Mega and Malum Kranus continued. Mordecai and Rigby arrived, Pops was pissed off because all his friends were erased from existance. Anti Pops shot M&R to Lolliland and then he destroyed it, leaving our buddies in the debris. The evilest guy also sent Titan Pops to a worm hole that led him to... THE NAIVE MAN FROM LOLLILAND SHORT UNIVERSE! Pops went back to his normal form and escaped from that place while confused because his sibling was trying to erase that universe too. He went to rescue Mordecai and Rigby from Lolliland's debris, dodging and destroying Regular Show's logo letters while they are falling down on his way! The blue jay and the racoon were in a worse situation because of a blizzard of post-its with all their moves, a sign that the universe was being teared apart: "The fabric of time is unraveling".
Tumblr media
Pops remembers The Seer words about he could make the difference: "I should have been listening to my heart this all time", said Pops to Mordo and Rigs. With a positive energy burst, Pops goes towards his sibling and hugs him strongly. The only way Pops could end this battle and the destroy of the universe was sacrificing himself with his brother: "I'm not going to let go". Mordecai and Rigby couldn't believe Pops was going to do it: "I promise this is a happy ending. Take care of each other. Goodbye". Anti Pops, during that good feels felt happiness and relief for five seconds. Both died feeling goodness. The battle ended and the universe became regular again.

FLASH NEWS! Del Hanlon announces the Spark came back from space after a THREE YEAR TRIP. While listening to her partner, Margaret rushes to the Park to meet her friends. The Space Rangers were recieved like true heroes while David Bowie's Heroes was playing as background music. Mordecai's parents went hug and kiss his beloved only son; Sherman, Barbara and Don did the same with Rigby, only that Sherman was wearing jeans and finally being proud of his son!; this was one of the most gorgeous moments ever in Regular Show's history: Starla goes with Muscle Man with a little girl: THEIR DAUGHTER. MITCH'S FACE WHEN HE MET HIS KID!; Techmo recieved Skips; Margaret went to strongly hug her best friend Eileen; Celia and fives did the same, but their love hug was even more pure; finally Applesauce/Leroy came to Benson. You thought it was enough? RIGBY AND EILEEN FINALLY KISS ON THE LIPS! But on the other side, Mr Maellard was extremely sad because his son sacrificed himself to save everybody. After that, there was a memorial service in the Park, where a Pops statue was revealed and Benson left flowers. The Park crew splited up. Mordecai and Rigby packed their stuff in their cars and, alongside Eileen, they gave themselves the last hug and went to do their new lives.
Tumblr media
The Future
Mordecai: He goes back to art school and graduates. He gets a studio in which he paints abstract art (Bad Portrait callback) where we can see CJ and Margaret paintings, but also one with him and Rigby. He becomes famous and has exhibitions, and in one of them he falls in love with a bat girl. They have three kids. Before that scene, we (at least I) notice that Mordo was kinda depressed.
Rigby: He lives with Eileen and get married. They have a regular life with two daughters. Rigby keeps playing videogames but with her eldest daughter. There’s a Park’s house picture framed in the living room. He keeps the moustache he liked on Ugly Moons and looks like Future Rigby from the movie. Benson: Stays working at the Park, like some sort of owner and manager because Maellard is dead. PAM GOES BACK WITH HIM and, despite not having kids, they adopt cats and Applesauce's descendence. Also, the crew he is with resembles the “best crew I’ve ever worked with”.
Skips: Also still works at the Park, but he has a car repair shop too (Exit 9B callback)
Muscle Man: He and Starla kept on making kids and now they're six. Eight persons living on a, I think, bigger trailer. He couldn't face the Sorensterin's hair issues and goes bald like his bro and his dad.
Fives: he moved with Celia to Prague and both became DJs
A 25 year reunion takes part on the Park. Muscle Man and Starla have a grandchildren, Fives and Celia raise a boy of their own, Rigby and Eileen daughters play with Muscle ones, while Mordecai and his wife ones are with their cellphones. Maellard got a statue too, next to Pops. There's a group photo and then Mordecai and Rigby go find old videogames in the shed "for old cart's sake", thinking all their puns they did 25 years ago were dumb for their 57 year old selves. Pops watches all this scene from another plane of existance, ejects the VHS from a Hanatronic TV with VCR saying "jolly good show".
The end.
Tumblr media
Highlights
On one hand, the freedom the crew worked with in this episode erased the fourth wall from existance. They smahed it, broke it down and demolished it this season. In this last episode they went Anti Pops and erased it. They tricked us with The Power sequence, made Pops go to The Naive Man From Lolliland short (redrawn by the animators and voices remastered for sure), the falling Regular Show logo, the blizzard of post-its, or the end with Pops watching the show on VHS like us, the spectators! Speaking of the short, including it in the finale was to me the way JG showed us that he was closing a circle he started more then 10 years ago and led him to do one of the best animated series of this decade.
Tumblr media
Mordecai and Rigby being the key to save the universe were crucial for Pops to realize he had to sacrifice himself to save the universe. Both Sam Marin and Robert Englund sounded so natural, pure and peaceful on their last dialogue. The levels of emotion Pops' sacrifice scene handle makes, for instance, Steven Univese's or Gravity Falls' (at Weridmageddon to compare) dramatic moments tiny (don’t offend buddies). This scene also had a Dragon Ball Z influence with the messianic sacrifice of Goku on Cell's Saga to save the Earth and all his loved ones to be destroyed by Cell-bomb.
This finale puts the straw very high for Adventure Time, which series finnale airs next year, despite being already done.
Tumblr media
The arrival scene, with David fucking Bowie's Heroes hit me so hard I can't listen to that song the same way for the rest of my life. It was the most accurate tune for that moment. Did you notice that aging was cannon? At least Mordecai and Rigby were 29 when the Dome took off and 32 when they came back. Continuing, it was good watching Rigby making amends with his dad at last. Muscle Daddy moment almost made me wept of joy. The crew expressed that part so real that you can't get very emotional on it (in fact, while writing this lines I remember those seconds and I have a knot on my throat). The pureness of Fives and Celia hug almost hit a double death emotional combo, but the Rigleen kiss was a triple death emotional combo. The Park crew should have made a spot for our emotions before Pops' memorial service.
Tumblr media
And about the future: I'm one of the guys that is okay with Mordecai's fate. Despite being a Mordaret shipper, the bat fan girl move was clever and they showed us Mordecai moved on with his life, besides returning Art School and become a recognized abstract painter. Mordecai and Rigby quitting their jobs showed one of the morals of this story: moving on from an dead end job may improve your life.
I was glad that Benson finally ended with Pam, they had one of the cutest Season 7 episodes and they didn't deserve that end due to distance. Benson deserved to be happy at least once and it finally happened! To sum up, the future life of Park guys was satisfying and it was a happy ending, as Pops said before his death. I have to regret one thing and that's Margaret, CJ and Thomas destinies in the future. They must have had a second or two to see what happened with them.
Tumblr media
The bittersweet end of Regular Show confirmed what I've been saying these years: this is one of the best cartoons of this decade and I'm glad to be part of its fandom. My congratulations to ALL THE CREW for making one of this year's events. Seriously, thank you.
