The first few days start off relatively quiet for Mr. and Mrs. Beckham.

Caroline meant to go out for groceries, but a sudden thunderstorm put an end to that quickly. She took shelter in the local tavern and got to know some locals. Notably Ms Elizabeth Doyle, an old spinster who lives far off in the hills.

Tommy sent off his first real writing project, “An Essay on the Nature of Humanity”. He thinks he’s a real philosopher. We’ll see how it sells. With his first step into the world of literature taken, Tommy’s fairly set to work on his poetry.

Caroline has been trying to make friends with the bees. They don’t like her. 

(I know Tommy’s meant to be my main guy but Caroline is so pretty I can’t help but give her so much attention)

And we end things off with young couples doing as young couples do. We’ll see if anything comes of it.

My #1 post of 2022

2 things I will never get over from P&P for very different reasons.

1. Darcy's 'You do not scare me' when Lizzie talks about scaring off people/suitors with her outspokenness and stuff

2. The fact that Lizzie's reaction to meeting Darcy in the park is: 'oh, better tell him it's my fav walking route so he knows to avoid it. We both don't want to see each other, so that'll be great.' Only to be baffled when this man actively tries to meet her on said route every single day.

seven deadly sins legacy challenge: gen one

I’ve been looking for a legacy challenge to play on stream that didn’t require every pack, and I finally found one I could do with the base game and the packs that I had: @spannersims​ ‘s Seven Deadly Sins Nightmare Legacy Challenge! Our founder is the lovely Penelope Heart, who has the serial romantic aspiration and the romantic trait as per the rules, and randomly rolled music lover, vegetarian, child of the moon (a custom trait), and hates children. Which is interesting since she has spent most of the playthrough so far pregnant. We haven’t maxed out her fitness skill yet but she’s in the athlete career which helps with that. She is in this custom boob dress which seemed perfect for her assigned sin.

So far she has had two different baby daddies and once we max out the fitness skill and at least the first kid is a teenager, she’ll be on the hunt for the third. Her first child was randomly named Harper which is a name I actually love, so we kept it. Harper’s dad is Diego Lobo, who Penelope met at a karaoke bar and then immediately brought home for an unprotected woohoo. Harper has the glutton trait which is required for the next generation, and randomly rolled art lover and hot headed (though she also earned the happy toddler trait.) She spends most of her time stomping around being angry b/c of the hot headed trait. Harper’s eyes went from being brown as a toddler to blue as a child, even though neither or her parents have blue eyes. I’m still confused about this.

After Harper’s birth, Penelope spent some quality time with J Huntington III, who got her pregnant with twins (!!!) and then moved in with the Heart household to take care of his kids and Harper. Despite being noncommittal, he’s a better parent than Penelope (probably because she hates children) and he’s really stepped up to be in Harper’s life. The twins are named Julia Heart and J Huntington IV, because of course if he had a son the son had to carry on his name. Julia has the glutton trait and is sort of named after the Latin word for gluttony and will *probably* end up being the heir, though I’m giving every child an equal opportunity to be gluttonous heirs. She randomly rolled gloomy and child of the sun (another custom trait.) J the fourth is also a glutton and randomly rolled child of the sun and lactose intolerant. Looks like he had just eaten some dairy when this picture was taken:

Dear Mama and Papa,

I do hope you are well, as is the rest of the family. I write to inform you that I am settling well in the city, although it is much noisier here than peaceful Henford-On-Bagley, it is far more interesting than I could've imagined.

Aunt Elizabeth has been taking good care of me, settling me into her apartment, with my own room, that has the most modern amenities, including radiators! She has been also teaching me how to cook, as she often works late at the office until night.

School has been interesting, to say the least. It's much stricter than the village school, and the new uniforms are quite uncomfortable but I have been enjoying the lessons. Especially the sciences which I have taken quite a shine to.

However, my new teacher Mr Roswell does not seem to like me very much, but that isn't a big surprise. Similarly to you, he thinks I lack any responsibility whatsoever.

Still, I am excited to tell you that I have made quite a group of friends here in the city, and often after school we have the utmost fun.

But alas, I miss you both and my dear siblings oh so dearly, and wish that we will be reunited soon. Whilst I am enjoying myself here, I cannot bring myself to understand your decision, but I must deal with it.

Elizabeth “Lizzie” Mabel Foust (née Hayes)

Lizzie Hayes was the first born child of Edward and Emma Hayes. She grew up on the family farm, and ever the dutiful daughter took on many of the matronly responsibilities around the house. She became well learned in cooking, cleaning, mending, and preserving. All her youth Lizzie was preparing herself for her own future as a wife and mother. It was her duty, she knew, to marry as well as she could, and she hoped to elevate her status within society.

Lizzie’s wishes came true when she happened to meet Richard Foust, the son of a businessman in the city. Richard was smitten with Lizzie, sensing her devotion and competence. Although she was not of the same social standing as him, Richard asked for her hand. Lizzie graciously accepted, and was welcomed into his family with open arms.

Throughout her adulthood Lizzie served her husband with pride. She bore him three children, two of whom attended university and the third of which married well.

On Sunday the Carson’s took things easy. Thomas and his father worked on his chess skills while Kate was down for her nap and the house was quiet.

Marlena and Robert had spent the last 9 months preparing for the baby and getting their children ready for the change. Thomas was old enough to understand and he was already such a good older brother and role model for Kate they weren’t concerned. She on the other hand seemed intrigued by the idea of a baby just like her dolls living inside mummy. They only hoped Kate would be more gentle with the baby.

That afternoon Marlena was putting away laundry in Tommy’s room when she felt her first contraction and doubled over from the pain. Robert stayed with her as she laboured all night and into the early morning. Finally, as the sun began to rise they welcomed another beautiful baby girl into the world.

They had struggled to come up with a name for their third child, it finally was Tommy who looked down at his new sister and said "She looks like an Elizabeth" and it stuck. They gave her the middle name Rose.

Here are the children of the second generation of the Ellsworth-Doyle Decades Legacy! From left to right, top to bottom, we have Lizzie Ellsworth, Russell Ellsworth, Myrtle Ellsworth, Rebecca Doyle, and Hazel Doyle.

Lizzie was born in 1891, and her cousin Rebecca was born the year after. Lizzie's younger siblings, Russell and Myrtle, are twins, and they were born in 1895. So was Hazel, who is Rebecca's little sister.

The Starlight Accolades ceremony was pretty similar to the previous one, except for the presenter, as this time a gentleman and a lady alternately announced the winners. Thorne Bailey, Lizzy Seitz-Ahr and Ruby Blake all received an award and while the evening continued, Heather held Dirks hand tighter and tighter. They had both been nominated, it would be so sad if the both went home empty handed. 

But then, the presenter called Dirk’s name, announcing him the winner of an award for his bestselling book. Trembling, Dirk accepted the award and gave his speech (one Heather had made him write the evening before, even though he didn’t think he could win another Accolade). He thanked his editor and of course his amazing wife and nervously joked he hoped she’d also receive an award so he didn’t have to share this one with her. The audience chuckled, Heather winked, giving him a look that said “Oh babe, share you will...”

But Dirk didn’t have to worry about sharing, because the next winner was indeed his lovely wife. He squeezed her hand just before she stood up to receive her award, saying softly: “Well done, babe!”

Just like her husband, Heather was trembling as she gave her speech, joking that her tremolo just came naturally now and that she was not much of a talker, more a singer, so her speech would be pretty short. She finished with “Oh, and one more thing...” while she waved at Dirk and beckoned him to stand up. Sensual and confident, she walked over to her husband and pulling him close for a long kiss. 

“There you have it, ladies and gentlemen, I don’t think this will be the last time we’ll celebrate this celebrity couple here at the Starlight Accolades. But if he hugged her last time and she kisses him now, I wonder what might be in store next time...”
