As a PhD student in AI & computer vision, I just want to remind the few people that follow me that AI is just a technology and current AI models are not teh things to blame, it's the people that sell you those models & those who said "let's feed them with data we don't have rights to" who are to blame.

(Also AI is a super vast domain and is NOT just Chat-GPT or Midjourney ok, those are deep learning models and yes they're state of the art in the domain but for anyone taking an AI course, remember that Artificial Intelligence includes Machine Learning that includes Deep Learning. Ok bye now.)

just rewatched the runaway bride and oh wow donna literally being dropped in the middle of the doctor's post-rose sulking in some random nebula and getting the full spectrum of him loving the genius of humanity and seeing a time he's never seen before and re-wiping out a mother and her children who were planning on eating their way across planets with a blank face and making it snow for a person he just met to make her day a little better. she tells him he scares her and invites him in to eat dinner with her family in the next sentence. augh.

rewatched 1x09 and one of the things that hit hardest for me was owen and tk's conversation, with the added context of 3x16. because we now know that owen was talking about not having left physically, the way his dad did, while tk was talking about owen leaving emotionally, choosing the family he rebuilt at the 252 over gwyn and tk. and i think what gets me about this is the 3x16 of it all, the way owen was determined not to repeat his dad's mistakes, but how he inadvertently did (for reasons mostly beyond his control). the way we can accidentally hurt our loved ones without meaning to, the way that hurt isn't intentional and isn't malicious but is painful, nonetheless. owen didn't set out to leave but tk felt like he grew up without a dad. owen did the best he could but tk still has to deal with the ramifications. it's so incredibly human and one of the things this show does really well, imo, how complicated and messy relationships often are. people not realizing, not knowing, causing pain nonetheless, but it never being out of a lack of love.

#what's also so interesting is s1 seems to have owen reference 9/11 a lot #like in this scene when tk starts to talk about what he felt growing up owen cuts him off and reminds him of the first responders that died #he gets super defensive #but as the seasons go on he starts admitting he made mistakes and hasn't been a perfect dad #like he's coming to terms with it with this distance with leaving nyc and settling in in texas #idk just kinda fascinating to track having watched s4 #also lol i remember being so mad at owen in this scene when i first watched it like let tk speak!! #but now with 3x16 context we have a clear understanding of where owen was coming from and his reaction makes total sense i love it #911 lone star #911 ls meta

y'all i met tucker, frank, and tim at the l.s. dunes show tonight and i'm still not over it😭

(me giving context below for anyone that would like it and gushing about the show lmfao)

1) tucker signed everyone's things differently and also spent a bit of time talking about his time w yellowcard!! he also told me that he thought i'd steal his chips but then like 10 seconds later he apologized and said he'd trust me😭😭

2) tim came by a few different times and was so sweet!! very patient as we all figured out the best way to coordinate pics and autographs for everyone lol

3) FRANK. i asked him to draw me a funky little guy and he hesitated for a minute before telling me the only thing he could think of was mikeyway!!! i have a cute little mikeyway signed by frank!!!! i also held up a light for him so he could see for writing for a few different people and got to talk to him about his tattoos :D the pictures came out blurry when my friend was taking them so i asked him for a selfie and he said yes!! such a chill guy i love him😭😭

i got a bunch of really awesome pics at the show and got up really far!! and met a lot of super incredible people!!! could not have asked for a better first dunes experience i love you l.s. dunes i love you people in line chatting w us fuck!!! have a great night everyone peace love & l.s. dunes 4ever
