I’m sorry

Ok, yeah. I’ve put this off for too long.

While i still hate Dex’s guts with a passion & have no sympathy for the bastard... THIS was uncalled for on my end & to that i say... I’m sorry. I’m sorry for using the word D--------e, i’m sorry for wanting to use the R word, despite not doing so since i knew THAT would be too much & i’m sorry for not adressing this much sooner.

While i will admit that i didn’t know the word D--------e was a slur of THAT level until recently, my ignorance isn’t an excuse. Ignorance is never an excuse, especially for stuff like this. So once again, i’m sorry about this & i’m sorry if i made anyone uncomfortable about it, i’ll do my best to make sure this doesn’t repeat itself, especially since i myself am a mentaly disabled youth (Asperger to be specific) who HAS gone through this shit before, so it’s very hypocritical of me to do the same & think it's okay simply because THEY do it. Spoilers, that line of thinking is not only wrong, but also very spiteful & I'm an idiot for letting this happen, so once again, i am sorry.

Whether or not i’ll delete this comment however, i’m not sure. I usually don’t like to delete this stuff, cause it makes me feel like i’m erasing a mistake i’ve made instead of learning from it. But if any of you want me to take it out, i will... Just don’t go overboard about it, please.

i’ve cracked the code. weebs hate RWBY because the writers over time realised they don’t need to rely on stereotypes or straighforward tropes from anime that got popular in the 2000s. RWBY subverted, inverted, avoided, and now these fools claim the show is bad because no main character boy man with girl-chan as love interest and emotional support, no pervert characters played as comedic relief, no *beach episode*

they’re still really sore that there’s no pervert character they can identify with

I thought you were kidding about Elon Musk but I saw an apparent screenshot. I can’t believe it. that screenshot can’t be real. he cannot seriously lack that much awareness. he can’t. no human can be that ignorant. is twitter even real?

This is the same man that came up with the PS1 looking Cybertruck and is spawning with Grimes. I 100% believe that Ryan’s villany went right over his head or he justified it and believes that he can do Rapture better. He probably blames the poor for Rapture falling apart, not the elite.

Ryan wasn’t a sympathetic martyr who had Rapture be out of his control like libertarians such as Musk and others try to make him out as. The dude had plenty of chances to at least postpone the fall or stop it entirely, he just didn’t take them out of pride or his objectively (see what I did there) wrong belief. All he had to do at the bare minimum was implement welfare and regulate plasmids, but he didn’t do it, even when it was becoming clear his system doesn’t work and plasmids were killing people.

That’s not even the wildest thing I’ve seen on Twitter and it’s only Janurary.

Blake still had her semblance to use later in the fight, so I think that was just her aura flashing from taking a hard hit

Yeah, I thought I remembered her using her semblance afterwards. And I’m like 99% sure you have to have your aura to be able to use your semblance so that would mean she’s still got her aura she’s good!

Going on from the ask about Yang's red eyes/'beastly'-ness, what would you say Blake and Yang being/considering the other the beauty to their beast?

hmm, so on a thematic level, Blake is both Beauty and Beast. that’s the Word of God we got right from the beginning, but we first hear about Yang being the counterweight to that (seemingly in addition to her being thematically inspired by Goldilocks)

“Black the Beast descends from shadows, Yellow Beauty burns gold”

and that’s pretty much the roles they play during the first two volumes; Blake initially being isolated, kind of standoffish, she gets pretty bad tempered during volume 2, a big point with her is that she doesn’t want to be viewed like an animal because she’s a Faunus (and she wants to be seen for who she is, not what, which is why she hides that part of herself away). and Yang is the one who helps her come out of her shell, is initially put off by Blake’s initial attitude, but is able to understand her and her influence helps Blake brighten up as time goes on

and then in volume 3, the roles switched, with Blake being frightened and unsettled by what she saw Yang (who the world is going to view as a monster for what happened in the tournament), but still chooses to trust in Yang. she also rankles when Cinder implies Yang’s attack on Mercury was deliberate assault, which might map to Belle defending the Beast when the villagers hear about him in some versions. Yang is isolated and depressed, and that all follows into volume 4.

so it seems to be a rotating thing, and Blake might switch between Beauty and Beast several times over the course of the whole story, with Yang acting as counterweight to it - so the red eyes and all the imagery discussed earlier might end up being foreshadowing something on this line in future

now while we’re on this B&tB note, i just wanna point out that while Adam certainly fills the role of Gaston/Avenant for the most part as personal antagonist to the pair, in the Black Trailer, some took his role to be that of the Beast to Blake’s Beauty - though given he’s ultimately the push for Blake to cut ties and go to Beacon (where she meets her ‘Beast’), combined with his symbol, he’s very much the Rose (enchanted or not, a rose is usually a kickstart to the plot in a lot of versions of the story) in that equation

and then when we’re at Beacon, Blake first comes to Yang’s attention really when Ruby mentions their chance meeting in the courtyard, and that prompts her to introduce herself - essentially, ‘Beauty’ going to the ‘Beast’ because of the Rose - so if that was deliberate, an early hint at how Blake vacillates between both roles
