Prompt: ok so i saw a truck today and i thought it said MANSCAPE but it actually said MAINSCAPE and it was a landscaping company. but then i thought LARRY AU. where louis owns a landscaping company called MANSCAPE and harry thinks it’s some sort of in-home pubic hair grooming company, so he calls to make an appointment, there’s some discussion of whether he wants his bushes trimmed as well, and then when it’s time for the appointment, harry’s like half-naked waiting around in a robe or something and louis shows up with lawnmowers.

Daniel calls Christian, before the next race he’s due to attend, and floats the idea of… not doing that. There’s a very unimpressed silence at the end of the line. At last Christian says, “It’s your choice, Daniel,” which he immediately undercuts by adding “It’s Monaco, for fuck’s sake. Think about this: are you serious about coming back, or are you just fucking around? If you’re serious, we need to see it.” Then he hangs up.

Daniel does want to come back, so. He shows up in the paddock when he’s supposed to. The weird looks and questions he gets are Christian’s fault, really.

Christian himself does a double-take when he sees Daniel, and ushers him straight into one of the private offices in the Red Bull motorhome. He gestures at Daniel’s face. “What the fuck happened here? Did you get in a bar fight? Do I need to pay off the other guy?”

It’s sweet, kind of, that Christian is bollocking him but in like a supportive way. Daniel manages a laugh and says, “No need for that.”

Christian stares at him with his unnervingly perceptive little beady eyes. “Uh huh. You didn’t think to mention this, when you phoned me?”

Daniel thinks about saying I tried to and decides against it. He goes for a winning smile, instead. Christian just raises his eyebrows. It’s clear that he isn’t going to be happy until Daniel tells him what’s going on.

Daniel considers the best way to do this that will be both reasonably accurate and also not completely fuck his future employment prospects. “Hmm,” he says, to buy himself some time. “Well. I guess you could say—I guess you could say I had a difference of opinion with someone?”

Christian gives him the “stop fucking around” look that Daniel remembers well from his Red Bull days.

Well. Fine, then. Daniel says, “I—you know Max’s dad?”

Christian says “Jesus Christ,” and starts rubbing at his forehead.

“Ah, no. Jos, actually,” Daniel says. Christian glares at him.

He took the opportunity for what it was, changing the subject, “You want a tour of my bedroom, Maxy?” Max snorted. “You are so lame, with all this,” he gestured vaguely at Daniel, “bad flirting.” Then, only a moment later, “Yes.” Daniel beamed, grabbing Max’s hand and dragging him through the apartment. As if Max hadn’t been there a hundred times. Although usually he was fully dressed and his face wasn’t covered in Daniel’s jizz. Not that either of them were complaining.

there was definitely a "Robert might not have caused his death" clue that Emmerdale dropped and didn't pick up a couple of years ago, but we are STEALING FROM OUR BUD AGATHA C here, and specifically Ordeal By Innocence, and we are BRINGING IN A NEW WITNESS

Is it reasonable that our witness left on a polar exhibition before news of Lee's death and Robert's arrest for his murder? Of course!!

Our witness is BACK from his polar exhibition and what do you MEAN Lee is dead and Robert is serving a murder sentence on the Isle of Wight

But he has VIDEO EVIDENCE of his mate Lee celebrating SOMETHING (being a bad person) two days before Robert put him in hospital and our new bud left for Antarctica. Getting drunk and FALLING and hitting his head and being DIZZY

What does this mean for Robert's conviction? THROWS IT UP IN THE AIR, Robert can't be necessarily responsible for Lee's death, so his conviction is QUASHED

The time he's served covers ABH or whatever (imaginary legal system coming into play here now) and so he's released and he does NOT want to come back to the village at all but for SOME REASON he has to see Victoria or SOMETHING

because maybe there's some reason why he has to look after Seb now as his legal guardian WHO CARES it's ROBRON PARENTING TIME

Rules: Share 7 (or more) lines of a WIP you've been working on.

I was tagged ages ago by @danpuff-ao3 when I didn't have 7 lines of WIP to share. Now I do (yay!), from a Ron/Harry I am writing for @sitp-recs. This is a fill for a prompt call I put out for my fandomversary. I'm having a blast writing for the prompts I received, I have a bunch of rec posts in process and I have just had to give myself a bit of an extension on the actual timing of it all (standard) <3

Excerpt from 'Can't Start a Fire Without a Spark' (Ron Weasley/Harry Potter)

It’s bloody annoying. The itch and crawl of it. It’s been so long since Ron has been jealous of Harry. So long. He hates the way it’s been creeping back lately, making his skin feel like it’s too tight for his body. The problem is, it’s not that he wants to be Harry. The thought of fucking Nott makes him want to take a long, cold shower. He just doesn’t want to hear about handsome men, with all their money and charm. He doesn’t want to hear about stupid, feckless dickheads who couldn’t give a damn about Harry when Ron is right here.

Ron is right here.

Harry sighed. “Yeah. I figured. I just need to bullshit for long enough to allow Liam to get the situation figured out from his end.”

“Right, which brings me to my entire point. I think we can find a mutually beneficial arrangement with all of this.” Louis leaned forward. “You need to learn the ins and outs of the sport incredibly fast. I can help you with that.”

Or, an AU inspired by a 30 second trailer of Ted Lasso that doesn't actually have much in common with the show at all.

💎 Old Photographs & Times I'll Remember by @jaerie (E, 54k)

Carefully he set that negative down and lifted the paper to see there was another beneath. This one again was a young man, this time posed against an antique car. He lifted a few more negatives out one by one, each a portrait of the same man with various backdrops. The man in a meadow, in an office, leaning against a doorframe — even one in his underwear grinning at the camera. On the edge of each negative printed in slanted, handwritten characters were the initials and date. H.S. 1924.

He quickly but carefully packed them back into the box and buzzed with excitement. He couldn’t wait to develop them to see exactly what had been captured in the images. It was a find that felt like a puzzle to piece together.

H.S. was likely the man in the photographs as well as the owner of the suitcase. Who was he? Why had his suitcase found its way into Niall’s attic? Was he still alive and well somewhere in the world?

A camera, a suitcase, and a relationship forged through time.

Harry feels goosebumps rise on his arms. “What do you mean?”

“Erm.” Harry swallows. “Friends isn’t exactly the term I’d use.” Niall doesn’t need to know what terms he would use.

Or, Harry and Louis kind of secretly sort of dated in high school. Now it's two years later and they're both back in town for Christmas and it's awkward. Until it isn't.
